Atrium Health Levine Children’s MidTown We provide expert pediatric primary care. Our board-certified pediatricians and advanced practice professionals specialize in general pediatrics, with care that helps your child feel their very best from birth and as they grow up. Our services include well-child checkups, immunizations, and same-day sick visits, as well as management of chronic diseases like diabetes and asthma. Plus, since we’re part of Atrium Health Levine Children’s, your child has seamless access to Levine Children’s Hospital if more advanced care is needed.
We’re Looking For:
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Minimum of one year of RN experience in an acute care setting.
- Pediatric Experience required, Triage Experience preferred if possible
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
- PALS preferred
What You’ll Do:
- The Ambulatory and Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN), a member of Advocate Health Nursing Professional Governance community, provides high- quality, patient-centered care through evidence-based practice, clinical expertise, and compassionate care delivery in an ambulatory care setting.

Major Responsibilities:
- Applies knowledge of medical terminology and nomenclature to accurately Analyze and identify documentation needs based on services provided and coding queries and accurately classify clinical documentation for all tests, treatments, procedures, and other services. Assigns, edits, and tracks medical record deficiencies by responsible provider into the chart management system accurately and timely to support continuity of patient care, coding, and revenue cycle. Applies knowledge of medical terminology and nomenclature to accurately identify documentation needs based on services provided and coding queries. - Responsible for reviewing, uploading and processing to Epic, Health Maintenance results and Advance Care Planning Directives based on state guidelines according to procedures. Reviews clinical documentation for evidence of Diabetic Retinopathy, abstracting components to support Health Maintenance initiatives.
- Performs HIM and coding support functions as assigned, positively contributing to established metrics, key performance indicators, and turn-around-times. Obtains and imports documentation from internal and external sources to justify and support accurate coding and billing for services performed by employed clinicians.
- Ensures compliance with all organizational policies and procedures, Medical Staff Bylaws, and State and Federal regulations, such as The Joint Commission (TJC), Det Norski Veritas (DNV) and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS).
- Uses critical thinking to identify and escalate front end or system workflow issues. Collaborates with department leaders, clinical informatics, IT, coding and HIM Optimization to problem-solve and resolve the identified issues.
- Validates deficiencies and chart completion status in the electronic health record (EHR) to support reporting of incomplete and delinquent medical record documentation. Accurately notify clinicians regarding incomplete documentation and inform leadership regarding accountability sanctions.
- Performs specialized workflows to verify the validity of presurgical H&Ps and other documents received via OnBase work queue and upload to the EHR.
- Incorporates internal and external clinical documentation from various electronic and paper sources via applicable software work queues, rounding, eDelivery or importing into the EHR routing to the clinician as appropriate according to HIM procedures while meeting established benchmarks for quality, accuracy, and productivity.
- Coordinates all support activities, provides training and education to Epic Connect clinics for transition to EPIC.

- Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
- May be required to float to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area to meet patient care needs.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Minimum Job Requirements
Education
Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
Certification / Registration / License
- Basic Life Support (BLS). Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required based on specialty.
- Active, unrestricted registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where the RN is providing client nursing services
Note: Licensed nurses practicing via telehealth/telenursing/virtual modalities are required to be licensed or hold the privilege to practice in the state(s) where the client(s) is/are located. Licensed nurses are responsible and accountable for knowing, understanding, and practicing in compliance with the laws, rules, regulations, and standards of practice of the state(s) where the client(s) is/are located.
Experience
Three years of Med Surg Telemetry experience and/or one year of Progressive Care or Intensive Care experience preferred.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
- Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
- Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
- Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.
- Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.
- May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
- Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
- Physical Abilities Testing may be required.
- Additional department specific physical requirements may be identified for unique responsibilities within the department by the nurse leader.

The Satellite department consists of 4 Med/Surg, Medical Telemetry units, totaling 34 beds. Our units are dedicated to delivering safe and quality care to patients seamlessly, while optimizing patient flow and capacity by alleviating pressure on the Emergency Department. We cater to a diverse patient population experiencing a wide array of acute diagnoses, including (but not limited to) chest pain, pneumonia, electrolyte imbalances, diabetes, cellulitis, trauma injuries, and mental health instabilities.

This role works closely with patients, clinics, pharmacies, manufacturers, and internal teams to complete applications, coordinate medication access, maintain accurate documentation, and provide timely follow-up.
Major Responsibilities:
- Completes area-specific work as outlined by standard processes, procedures and adherent to policies
- Serves as an expert with equipment and technology in specialized area
- Problem solves technical issues in the specialized area as they arise
- Ensures documents and records are accurate and completed in a timely fashion
- Supports methods of communication and coordination with patients and care team
- Identifies quality improvement opportunities based on specialized skill set to ensure safe, effective, and efficient services and patient care
- Provides input to and supports implementation of operational changes, advancements, and site and system standardization
- Participates in site or system specialized work teams, committees, and councils, as applicable
- Complies with legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

Education Required:

Experience Required:
- Typically requires 3 years of experience in health care, insurance industry, pharmacy, or medical background. Previous retail pharmacy experience is preferred, as experience working with patients, prescriptions, insurance coverage, medication access, and pharmacy workflows provides a strong foundation for success in this role.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

$51.05 - $76.60Atrium Health/Levine Cancer is looking for an experienced full time advanced practice provider (APP) specialized in oncology to provide quality health services to the patients in the Charlotte and surrounding community. This position is occupied by AGACNP/ACNP nurse practitioners (NP) and/or physician assistants (PA) who care for patients in the hospital as they go through diagnosis/treatment of oncologic disorders. The APP is responsible for evaluating and treating patients with malignancies and/or disorders related to their oncologic diagnoses, including but not limited to early phase clinical trial patients.
Position Description:
- Inpatient, CMC-Main
- Full-time (40 hours)
- Day shift, four 10-hour shifts; rarely Saturday and Sunday shifts
- Holidays rotation and back-up call
- No night shifts
- Teaching opportunities with APP and Physician Fellows
- Chemotherapy credentialing is optional
Position Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program. Must be Acute Care NP or Physician Assistant. Current license to practice as a NP or PA in North Carolina. Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license required. BLS for healthcare provider from AHA required.
- Nurse practitioners are required to have a master’s degree or doctorate in nursing practice.
- Physician Assistants with certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred. Current or pending CAQ certification preferred.
- +1 years of experience preferred. Oncology experience preferred but not required.
- Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking and interpersonal skills when working in a fast paced, high acuity work environment. Able to effectively prioritize competing demands and maintain focus amid frequent interruptions.

- Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and documenting/updating pertinent health information (i.e. chief complaint, allergies, medications).
- Performs laboratory procedures (i.e. strep test, wound culture, specimen collection, etc.) using principles of aseptic technique and standard precautions / infection control guidelines.
- Assists the physician/provider with procedures and surgeries such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy, etc.
- Administers medications, under physician/provider orders, including: immunizations, antibiotics, pain medications, vitamins, topical agents, and insulin. With limitations, initiates, maintains and discontinues IV therapy; administering selected fluids with pre-mixed medications.
- Provides basic patient education on the performance of tasks, skills, treatment and self-care. Follows through with necessary procedure or test requests, prescription refills, new appointment times and referrals to other facilities or services. Refers questions to registered nurses and physicians/providers per scope of practice guidelines and relays information back to patient as directed.
- Communicates with physicians and other members of the health care team. Documents and communicates accurate and timely information regarding patient conditions.
- Performs advanced clinical tasks or skills such as removal of sutures and staples, catheterization, audiograms, laboratory procedures (throat/nose culture, drug screen, phlebotomy - butterfly, venous access, heel stick), EKG, spirometry, Holter monitor application, casting, complex wound care, etc., with demonstrated competency and under clinical supervision.
- Organizes and prepares exam rooms, lab and work areas including: cleaning, stocking, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment. Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
- Completes routine maintenance and quality monitoring of clinic equipment using appropriate technique when cleaning, sterilizing and caring for instruments and other equipment.
- Participates in patient centered initiatives, care management, performance and quality improvement activities.

Demonstrates proficiency by performing routine and emergency echocardiograms, including but not limited to 2-dimensional, 3- dimensional, Doppler, Transesophageal, and Stress Echocardiogram, as requested by physician and in accordance with established protocols.
Records quality information while performing echocardiographic imaging and following procedural guidelines and protocols
Explains procedures and possible side effects to the patient or family members.
Provides echocardiography service at all necessary locations, portables, working variable shifts, weekends, and providing emergent call coverage as scheduled.
Operates equipment necessary to perform all required procedures and to obtain optimal diagnostic recording; utilize ancillary devices such as selected transducers, digital networking system, and off-line analysis systems.
Maintain equipment in working order, making minor adjustments and repairs.
Performs routine cleaning, preventive maintenance, and report any equipment malfunction to echo lab manager.
Analyze patient's medical record to obtain history of symptoms and necessary information for performance of diagnostic procedures.
Prepares preliminary reports for review and interpretation by Cardiologist.

Position Details:
· Highly regarded GI clinic staffed by four physicians and one APP
· Sees high acuity patients and manages mainly chemotherapy toxicities although select immunotherapy regimens and toxicities are also managed
· Treats a variety of symptoms, reviews scans, drug management
· Schedule: Four ten-hour shifts per week (8a-6p) OR five eight-hour shifts per week (8a-5p) with weekly Tumor Board every Monday

Position Qualifications:
· Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program. Current license to practice as a NP or PA in North Carolina. Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license required. BLS for healthcare provider from AHA required.
o Nurse practitioners are required to have a master’s degree or doctorate in nursing practice.
o Physician Assistants with certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred. Current or pending CAQ certification preferred.

$35.50 - $53.25Major Responsibilities
Demonstrates proficiency by performing routine and emergency echocardiograms, including but not limited to 2-dimensional, 3- dimensional, Doppler, Transesophageal, and Stress Echocardiogram, as requested by physician and in accordance with established protocols.
Records quality information while performing echocardiographic imaging and following procedural guidelines and protocols
Explains procedures and possible side effects to the patient or family members.
Provides echocardiography service at all necessary locations, portables, working variable shifts, weekends, and providing emergent call coverage as scheduled.
Operates equipment necessary to perform all required procedures and to obtain optimal diagnostic recording; utilize ancillary devices such as selected transducers, digital networking system, and off-line analysis systems.
Maintain equipment in working order, making minor adjustments and repairs.
Performs routine cleaning, preventive maintenance, and report any equipment malfunction to echo lab manager.
Analyze patient's medical record to obtain history of symptoms and necessary information for performance of diagnostic procedures.
Prepares preliminary reports for review and interpretation by Cardiologist.
Participate in quality improvement activities; evaluate procedure results for technical quality and accuracy; maintain appropriate logs, files, and records.
Review department performance in relation to established goals, implementing changes to affect outcomes.
Maintain confidentiality of patients, employees and corporation-related activities.
Instruct students, fellows, nurses, or health personnel as requested.
Communicates technical and patient care related information according to established processes and timelines.
Attends Echo Lab Meetings, participates in Echo related conferences through attendance, ensuring continuing education and professional growth.

Level 4 Cardiac Sonographers have the additional following expectations:
Participates in dedicated research protocols, as needed.
Performs portable and lab echocardiograms in an inpatient setting on weekends, holidays, and on an on-call basis (Level 4 cardiac sonographers must work in inpatient setting to qualify.)
Acts as a resource in the absence of the leadership team to provide coverage.
Actively participates in educational opportunities both internally and externally.
Is a role model for other cardiac sonographers.
Has the ability to troubleshoot Cardiac Ultrasound equipment issues and follows through until corrected.
Troubleshoots issues with EMR and Cardiac PAC system.
Education
High school diploma or GED required.
Certification / License
• Valid Sonography credential registration (ARRT(S), RDMS, RDCS) through American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
Completion of certification or registry in Echocardiography (RDCS) required within 1 year of employment.
• Completion of CPR Course – BLS Certification Required.

Manages front desk responsibilities, including greet, check-in, register walk-in patients, answer phones and collect patient responsibility. Major Responsibilities
Greets and checks in patients arriving for their appointments. Ensures patient information is complete and accurate. Collects patient responsibility as identified in the pre-registration process.
Completes the registration process on walk-in patients, verifies and/or updates patient demographic and insurance information if changes or additions have occurred.
Verifies insurance benefits, obtains/calculates patient responsibility and request payment. Communicates to patient the organization expectation of payment at time of service.
Identifies patients in need of financial assistance and refers patients to Financial Advocate when necessary. Collaborates with Financial Advocate to coordinate patient's financial resources and responsibilities including requesting patient to sign a Financial Obligation Form (FOF) or Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) as needed.
Monitors patient flow to ensure patients are cared for in the most efficient and courteous manner. Performs visit closure, including checking out patients, collecting additional patient responsibility (when applicable) and providing patient with appropriate documents.
Schedules patient visits using guidelines established within scheduling system.
Assists with new caregiver onboarding.
Works assigned EPIC work queues, following the department's workflow process.
Maintains excellent public relations with patients, families, and clinical staff as well as demonstrates a willingness and ability to work collaboratively with others for concise and timely flow of information. Proactively communicates issues involving customer service and process improvement opportunities to management.
Maintains knowledge of and reference materials for Medicare, Medicaid and third-party payer requirements, guidelines and policies, insurance plans requiring pre-authorization/referral and a list of current accepted insurance plans.
