$21.85 - $32.80Major Responsibilities:
- Uses facility/provider information and established policies and procedures to seamlessly link the patient experience between PACT and the practice site.
- Uses resources and critical thinking skills to assist inbound callers. Makes outbound calls when required or when follow up is deemed necessary.
- Has the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex non-clinical problems and questions and escalates for resolution when needed. Performs basic technical troubleshooting in connection to online applications, systems, or access as requested to resolve issues.
- Responsibilities include scheduling patient appointments and coordinating cancellations, reschedules, and additions to schedules. Obtains demographic and insurance information and verifies insurance coverage. Ensures insurance and patient information obtained is complete and accurate, updating information if necessary, applying acquired knowledge of government and third-party payer requirements.
- Completes all essential forms, obtains necessary information, such as patient demographic and insurance information. Verifies and updates the medical record with patient information.
- Identifies emergent calls based on information provided by caller and department procedures. Follows the process for immediate transfer to Registered Nurse for triaging. Responsible for competency in and adherence to guidelines for emergency situations and critical call handling.
- Determines the needs of patients calling the call center which results in routing patients for triage, scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling appointments, submitting medication refill requests for evaluation, and paging providers and facilities as appropriate.
- Provides customer service per established departmental standards as measured by patients on post call survey. Asks clarifying questions, presents options or solutions, and understands the level of complexity of the call, escalating only those situations necessary for resolution.
- Assists with organizational marketing efforts by providing associated information and referral to customer, while maintaining appropriate records for documentation. Conducts regular reporting and updating of the provider and marketing databases.
- Acts as a resource for teammates, and performs additional duties based on department needs.
- Maintains knowledge and efficient utilization of all information systems utilized by the department.

Experience Required:
- Typically requires 1-3 years experience in a call center, healthcare or other applicable customer service-related area
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Knowledge of customer service and ability to work with a variety of patients and patient situations. Ability to follow workflows while operating in a structured environment
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology is helpful but not required.
- Basic understanding of computers and desktop software packages.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling a variety of customer/patient needs.
- Basic multitasking and problem-solving skills, as well as organization and prioritization skills.
- Ability to use/manage a multiple-line telephone system.
- Demonstrated ability for analysis, logical thinking, accuracy and concern for detail.
- Strong verbal communication skills and ability to interact with a diverse customer population.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service and follow up. Ability to communicate with customers/patients while researching and documenting the interaction on multiple systems.

- Collects and/or processes patient blood obtained by venipuncture and/or capillary puncture timely and accurate.

- Receives lab orders from providers, prepares necessary documentation, and performs all routine laboratory tests.
- Maintains necessary documentation for all tests according to standards and labeling all specimens following set standards. Maintains knowledge of specimen collection devices and tubes.
- Maintains equipment, keeps area clean, stocks supplies and keeps work space organized.
- Practices sterile technique and prevents cross contamination. Handles blood and body fluids and deals with infectious patients.
- Performs minor laboratory procedures accurately, precisely, and efficiently under minimal supervision including chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, and immunology.
- Perform phlebotomy through venous and capillary puncture following established procedures in accordance with age specific considerations of patients. Observes strict principles of antisepsis to prevent infection of patient and contamination of specimens.
- Receives and collects urine specimens to perform all routine tests.
- Performs specimen preparation for all procedures/tests.
- Maintains supplies inventory communicating needs to supervisor.
- Reports varying in-house test results in addition to all abnormal findings to clinical staff.
- Complies with all policies and OSHA regulations related to safety, cleanliness, and infection control. Practices sterile technique and prevents cross contamination. Handles blood and body fluids and deals with infectious patients.
- Follows general safety procedures and utilizes PPE appropriately.
Physical Requirements
Works in a fast-paced clinical environment. Works in an area that contains biohazardous (infectious) materials along with chemical, fire, and mechanical hazards. The 11T Integrated Enhanced Recovery (ERAS) GI Center of Excellence is composed of a team of physicians, fellows, nurse practitioners and nurses who provide specialized care to patients with diseases of the liver, biliary tract, pancreas and GI tract as well as surgical trauma care. As an academic center of excellence in ERAS, opportunities exist to collaborate with institutions nationally and internationally to improve patient outcomes. The nursing department is a specialized unit caring for patients with varying levels of acuity from progressive care, telemetry, and medical surgical status. Since these patients will be cared for throughout the entirety of their hospital stay on one-unit, individualized care is integrated into daily work. Enhanced Recovery after Surgery (ERAS) is a research-based intensive approach to improving patient outcomes by integrating pathways and guidelines with patient care. Driving compliance, research, quality and publication, this method engages the entire team to align work tailored to improve the patient's outcome, operational excellence of the organization and experience of the team. 11T is the country's first ERAs certified unit.

7B is a 19-bed advanced heart failure intermediate cardiac unit, including 14 high-acuity beds designed to support critically ill patients requiring a progressive level of care. Our staffing model allows for a 3:1 nurse-to-patient ratio in high-acuity settings.
We provide specialized care for complex cardiac patients, including those requiring:
- Invasive hemodynamic monitoring (PA/Swan-Ganz catheters)
- Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs)
- Pre and post–heart transplant management
- Bedside sustained low-efficiency dialysis (SLED)
- Inotropic therapy management

Atrium Health Jeff Gordon Children's Foundation Pediatric Infusion Center is located in the Medical Center Plaza building in Charlotte, NC. In the infusion center we administer chemotherapy, blood and platelet transfusions, IVIG, biologic therapies, enzyme replacement treatments, and supportive care such as IV hydration, antibiotics, and iron infusions, supporting patients across specialties including hematology/oncology, immunology, gastroenterology, neurology, and rheumatology. This infusion center also has a procedural suite in which we complete lumbar punctures, bone marrow aspirations, and sedated IUD placement. Manages front desk responsibilities, including greet, check-in, register walk-in patients, answer phones and collect patient responsibility. Reviews and/or obtains demographic and insurance information and collects patient responsibility. Informs the patient of the organization expectation of payment at time of service.
Major Responsibilities
Greets and checks in patients arriving for their appointments. Ensures patient information is complete and accurate. Collects patient responsibility as identified in the pre-registration process.
Completes the registration process on walk-in patients, verifies and/or updates patient demographic and insurance information if changes or additions have occurred.
Verifies insurance benefits, obtains/calculates patient responsibility and request payment. Communicates to patient the organization expectation of payment at time of service.
Identifies patients in need of financial assistance and refers patients to Financial Advocate when necessary. Collaborates with Financial Advocate to coordinate patient's financial resources and responsibilities including requesting patient to sign a Financial Obligation Form (FOF) or Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) as needed.
Monitors patient flow to ensure patients are cared for in the most efficient and courteous manner. Performs visit closure, including checking out patients, collecting additional patient responsibility (when applicable) and providing patient with appropriate documents.
Schedules patient visits using guidelines established within scheduling system.
Assists with new caregiver onboarding.
Works assigned EPIC work queues, following the department's workflow process.
Maintains excellent public relations with patients, families, and clinical staff as well as demonstrates a willingness and ability to work collaboratively with others for concise and timely flow of information. Proactively communicates issues involving customer service and process improvement opportunities to management.
Maintains knowledge of and reference materials for Medicare, Medicaid and third-party payer requirements, guidelines and policies, insurance plans requiring pre-authorization/referral and a list of current accepted insurance plans.

Typically requires 1 year of experience in customer service or clerical/office experience, including answering phones and assisting customers.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Demonstrated ability to identify and understand issues and problems. Examines data and draws logical conclusions based on information available.
Knowledge and ability to articulate explanations of Medicare/HIPAA/EMTALA rules and regulations and comply with updates on insurance pre-certification requirements.
Mathematical aptitude, effective communication skills and critical thinking skills.
Understanding of basic human anatomy, medical terminology and procedures for application in the patient referral/pre-certification/authorization processes.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization, maintaining a pleasant, professional demeanor.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information according to internal policies.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, carry, squat, and bend frequently as well as twist, rotate, and kneel occasionally throughout the workday.
Frequently lifts up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lifts between 20 lbs. or more. This occurs when moving equipment and supplies and when transporting patients and/or charts.
Must be able to push/pull up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
Must have functional speech and hearing.

Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and documenting/updating pertinent health information (i.e. chief complaint, allergies, medications).
Performs laboratory procedures (i.e. strep test, wound culture, specimen collection, etc.) using principles of aseptic technique and standard precautions / infection control guidelines.
Assists the physician/provider with procedures and surgeries such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy, etc.
Administers medications, under physician/provider orders, including: immunizations, antibiotics, pain medications, vitamins, topical agents, and insulin. With limitations, initiates, maintains and discontinues IV therapy; administering selected fluids with pre-mixed medications.

$99.75 - $159.60Interested applicants are invited to join Atrium Health Levine Cancer’s physics practice working alongside a dynamic care team. Atrium Health Levine Cancer provides patients with access to nationally renowned physicians and state-of-the-art treatments at 28 cancer care locations across the Carolinas, including 10 radiation therapy centers in the Charlotte, NC area.
Atrium Health is recruiting a staff physicist to support clinical services for the Carolina’s only proton delivery system located at the Proton and Advanced Radiation Therapy Center (PARC) in uptown Charlotte. This facility also features GammaKnife radiotherapy and radiopharmaceutical administration. The facility is located on the same campus as a radiation therapy clinic that offers external beam radiotherapy and brachytherapy.
The proton therapy delivery system is a Mevion s250i with Hyperscan technology and an in-room Stryker Airo CT. The system features Surface Image Guidance motion management system. The treatment planning system is Raystation version of 2023B and ARIA is the oncology EMR. A dedicated GE CT scanner supports clinical simulations.
The physics/dosimetry team dedicated to supporting the Proton and Advanced Radiation Therapy Center currently consists of 3 staff physicists, 3 dosimetrists and a medical physics assistant in addition to the manager of proton physics.
The 9 other Greater Charlotte-region Atrium Health Levine Cancer Radiation Therapy clinics are equipped with CT Simulators (GE/Philips), as well as Varian treatment planning (Eclipse v16.1), EMR (ARIA 15.6/16.1) and Clinac/Truebeam treatment delivery systems, with one clinic equipped with RayStation (v2023B) TPS, Mosaiq EMR and an Elekta Infinity linear accelerator. Levine Cancer’s Charlotte-area clinics have active SBRT and SRS programs and employ Surface Image Guidance Technology in most facilities. MIM Maestro image management software including AI contouring tools is also utilized. A full complement of QA tools and technologies are available. Active clinical projects include knowledge-based planning techniques, AI contouring, EPID dosimetry and QA standardization using a cloud-based platform.
Additionally, our Charlotte area clinics currently host trainees from the Carolinas College of Health Sciences in radiation therapy and medical dosimetry. Physicists also serve as mentors in the joint Atrium Health/Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist CAMPEP-approved medical physics residency program. In 2025, the Charlotte campus of the Wake Forest University School of Medicine opened with its inaugural class of medical students. It is anticipated that opportunities for academic faculty physicist roles will be available to interested and appropriate candidates.
Interested candidates will join a collaborative environment where physicists work across facilities on projects impacting patients network-wide.
Major Responsibilities:
- Performs delivery of non-standard, standard and complicated treatment planning and techniques which may include high dose radiation (HDR), low dose radiation (LDR) and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS). Performs radiation surveys of patients exposed to radioactive sources; regularly performs radiation surveys of treatment rooms.
- Calibrates various therapy machines, measures instruments against national standards, and measures therapy beam data for treatment planning purposes. Leads and facilitates the troubleshooting process, works collaboratively with Medical Engineers. Operates and performs quality assurance (QA) on equipment as required.
- Writes specifications and commissions therapy equipment and accessories and designs new techniques and ancillary equipment. Performs and oversees commissioning and acceptance testing for therapies and accessories, and for standardizing equipment calibration.
- Collaborates with other senior staff to develop and maintain a QA program for departmental treatment modalities and imaging devices. Works with Physicians to gather data, analyze outcomes and develop new processes and protocols. Develops, implements and oversees the department radiation safety policies.
- Tracks and monitors data or parameters directly affecting patient dose and verifies algorithms used in pertinent dose calculations. Enters and validates data in treatment planning systems. Performs data collection and provides benchmark information for Institute, National and International protocols; performs physics measurements and oversight for special procedures and leads special programs as assigned.
- Consults with Radiation Oncologists and Physicians on target delineation, modeling and treatment planning.
- Establishes processes and procedures for acquiring high quality images for treatment planning and treatment delivery; monitors and measures the performance of all imaging equipment.
- Develops and implements new techniques for treatment delivery, and assists with designing and modifying radiotherapy treatment rooms to incorporate radiation protection standards required by national protocols; makes recommendations regarding acquisition and implementation for major equipment and supportive technology.
- Provides education lectures to staff therapists and associated allied staff and provides mandatory radiation safety training. Assists with accreditation process, departmental QA activities, and radiation safety committee as assigned; leads the development of a new competency or assists in completion of competencies for other staff.
- Ensures compliance with all state and federal regulating and accrediting bodies.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. - Responsible for the daily management of assigned patient caseload, ensuring timely care and documentation to meet the patient needs/services as prescribed in the established plan of care and per MD orders.
- Collects data pertinent to the healthcare consumer's health or the situation from patient assessments in the home setting, telephonic contacts and/or related EMR information available.
- Analyzes the data to determine the issues and available resources to seek effective resolution. Identifies patients at high risk for re-hospitalization, falls and/or high utilization of resources that require additional intervention and case conferencing to ensure appropriate care and frequence of service mitigate risk and ensure high quality outcomes.
- Prioritizes multi-issue, situations appropriate to the criticality of patient health and welfare, patient/staff safety and impact to effective, timely services.
- Evaluates the PT patient to determine the rehabilitation needs, potential for achievement, and develops a plan of care in conjunction with the patient's physician.
- Establishes and implements plan of care, performs PT servicescertified by the patient's physician, and directs the care coordination of multidisciplinary clinical team approach, supervision of LPTAs and/or HHAs involved in the care of the assigned patient caseload to promote health and safe outcomes.
- Maintains communication with multidisciplinary team providing updates and changes in schedules, patient data or needs, and physician orders.
- Incorporates short and long-term goals established in the plan of care into therapy, as evidenced by documentation in visit notes, monthly progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Supports effective communication and collaboration with the physician oversight, and branch supervision to ensure timely feedback regarding patients' conditions and/or need for changes in the plan of care.
- Remains and performs ordered treatments, therapies and/or procedures in accordance with State Physical Therapy Practice Act and Home Health conditions of Participation, JCAHO, Medicare Guidelines, OASIS and agency policy and procedures.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree required. This aligns with current professional entry standards, as the DPT has been the recognized entry-level credential for all new graduates since 2016; prior bachelor’s or master’s-level degrees may be accepted only where consistent with applicable licensure requirements. Maintains continuing education requirements as mandated by applicable state professional standards.
Certification / Registration / License
Physical Therapy License in the State of applicable state or South Carolina must be licensed in the state upon which you work. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required.
Current state driver's license and auto insurance at all times. Personal vehicles must be well maintained and in safe driving conditions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Ability to travel extensively during all seasons to assigned patient's place of residence. Works in a variety of home environments and conditions. Must speak English in good understandable terms. Intact sense of sight, hearing, smell and touch. Finger dexterity. Critical thinking and the ability to concentrate. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions. Ability to work flexible schedule to meet patient's needs. Personal Protective Equipment such as gloves, goggles, gowns, and masks are sometimes required due to possible exposure to hazardous chemicals or blood and body fluids.
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS
Work Experience
- 1-year experience as a licensed PT in a clinical care setting or home health preferred.
- Pediatric setting – 1 year pediatric experience within the past 5 years preferred or education and training may be provided by Advocate Health At Home.
