The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) provides assessment, management and outcome evaluation for patients in inpatient and outpatient settings. The APRN serves as a resource to educate patients, families, professional nurses, and staff; functions as a liaison between patient, family and UofL Physicians staff; and participates in clinical research. The APRN should demonstrate an advanced level of medical and nursing knowledge, clinical and technical competency, sound clinical judgment, professionalism as it relates to interpersonal and general communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and takes responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency validation.
Job Description:
UofL Health/UofL Physicians Groupis seeking a compassionate APRN to join our palliative care program. Candidate will provide high-quality care for patients with chronic and serious illness in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. Work alongside compassionate physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide top-tier care.

- Assesses the physical and psychosocial status of clients by means of interview, health history, physical examination and diagnostic studies for both inpatient and outpatient services.
- Recognizes deviations from normal in the physical assessment. Works in collaboration with a physician in formulating treatment plans for health problems and follow-up.
- Manage specialty clinic
- Writes prescriptions for medication, blood tests, routine diagnostic and follow-up studies and therapeutic measures.
- Requests written consultation from physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate and quality patient care.
- Interprets and evaluates findings of studies/tests.
- Relays appropriate information regarding patient care to the collaborating physician.
- Evaluates the quality of care provided and recommends changes for improvement.
- Initiates appropriate actions to facilitate the implementation of therapeutic plans that are consistent with the continuing healthcare needs of the patient.
- Participates in multidisciplinary conference and ensures appropriate, quality care.
- Provides symptom management for side effects related to oncologic treatment.
- Assist with admissions.
- Works both collaboratively and independently.
- Maintains oversight of survivorship program and survivorship clinic.
- Shares clinical expertise with professional and supportive personnel.
- Documents and reports care in an accurate, timely manner.
- Works effectively with others. Collaborates with other health disciplines to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Promotes evidenced-based nursing practice/research by participating in clinical research and leading efforts in scientific inquiry.

Education:
- Master of Nursing degree from an accredited institution.
Licensure:
- Current licensure in state of Kentucky as an APRN.
Certification:
- National certification as an Adult Nurse Practitioner, Emergency Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
- Current DEA certificate without restriction
- Current BLS
- Must be ACLS Certified

Position Summary and Purpose
Patient Access Educator is responsible for delivering individual and group on-the-job training to new and current patient access staff. The educator will round with patient access areas while observing and monitoring front-end functions and providing feedback to management and specialized instruction to staff. They help in the development of system enhancements and performs subsequent testing for enhancements to the registration and scheduling systems.
Essential Functions:
• Facilitates staff development by promoting learning experiences and tailoring to the needs of the individual employees
• Defines the knowledge, skills & abilities required for patient access employees to perform given responsibilities as requested
• Suggests exercises and/or case studies to reinforce learning
• Observes staff working on Patient Access functions in clinical/hospital areas to answer questions, provide additional training, identify issues/concerns and facilitate ongoing integration of automated systems
• Audits accounts (i.e. MSP, insurance plans, complete registration, etc.)
• Participates in continuous process improvement teams and assist in the coordination and completion of short-term, long-term and special projects as appropriate
• Completes various Revenue Cycle reports to identify trends and opportunities for Patient Access education
Other Functions:
• Assists with testing patient access components of courseware developed tools, products and system software upgrades
• Provides coaching regarding education opportunities
• Attends meetings and represent Patient Access as a subject matter expert

Job Description:
The Registered Dietitian functions within a multidisciplinary team to provide nutrition therapy for inpatients and/or outpatients at UofL Health facilities per scope of assignment. Job Description:
Collaborates with department directors, nursing staff, and others to identify unit-specific educational needs.
Collaborates with other educators to prevent redundancies of educational efforts.
Collaborates with human resources department, nurse educators, professional development specialists, clinical nurse specialists, and department directors to facilitate the unit/hospital orientation program for area of responsibility.
Provides ongoing support and coaching to preceptors and/or new employees.
Assesses educational needs through a variety of methods, both formal and informal, for orientation, in-service education and continuing education to preceptors, new employees, and experienced staff.
Demonstrates ability to teach programs using adult learning principles, professional presentation skills, and quality audiovisual aids and handout materials.
Evaluates achievement of learning objectives
Facilitates attainment of necessary or desired educational credit from accreditation bodies for a given professional category and submits required documentation after the program
Participates in patient care delivery
Participates indirectly in the delivery of patient care in area of specialization.
Acts as a resource for staff in locating answers to questions, best evidence, current policies, procedures, and protocols.
Provides clinical consultation.
Participates in research/evidence-based practice
Incorporates research findings and best practice findings into the development of clinical practice guidelines/standards/policies.
Requirements:
Current RN license or work permit in Kentucky.
Three (3) years of acute care experience in the designated specialty within the last five (5) years
BSN from accredited nursing program
Certification as Professional Development Specialist (PDS) preferred
Basic Life Support certification.
ACLS/PALS/NRP/TNCC/ENPC certifications as required by department of assignment.

2A ICU is a 21-bed medical/surgical ICU serving high acuity medical ICU patients. The unit population is cardiac interventions, SARS, Cardiogenic shock, Rotoprone, Post-partum critical care patients and complex care ICU patients, most of which have a medical or cardiac diagnosis.
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member, Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care and related support by performing selected nursing procedures and routine duties to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and care of patients.
Job Description:
Provides direct patient care, including hygiene, mobility, toileting, feeding, and positioning.
Obtains and documents vital signs, intake/output, weights, specimens, and other patient data.
Performs delegated clinical procedures such as blood glucose monitoring, EKGs, and venipuncture.
Assists with patient admissions, transfers, discharges, and procedures.
Performs clerical and unit coordination duties, including patient charts and physician orders.
Maintain supplies, equipment, and a safe patient care environment.
Responds to patient needs and emergency situations while providing compassionate, respectful care.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Current KY Nurse Aide Certification, or successful completions of first year of Nursing program with validation of clinical rotation
Basic Life Support- Applicants will have 30 days from their hired date to provide completion of this certification if they don’t have it already.
