Position Summary
The Patient Care Technician is an ideal opportunity for those seeking a dynamic and comprehensive role within our health care system. By covering nursing care, transportation of patients, and clerical functions, you will support exceptional patient health outcomes.
In this role you will hone your clerical and communication skills, develop age-appropriate nursing care expertise, and collaborate to support patient care and services.
Responsibilities
- You will perform a dynamic range of duties and functions throughout the hospital
- You will assist in basic nursing care, transportation of patients, and clerical functions
- Apply your strong interpersonal skills when providing care for patients across a diverse spectrum of ethnic and social groups
- Collaborate with health care practitioner or registered nurse for comprehensive quality care
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Medical Assistant-Registered Certification Eligible (Must apply within seven (7) days of hire)
- Must obtain Medical Assistant-Registered Certification within sixty (60) days of hire
- Nursing Assistant Certification/Licensure
- Medical Assistant-Registered Certification Eligible
- MA-P credential may be accepted in lieu of MA-R
- Current BLS Certification
- Recent bed side care experience in a health care environment

Position Summary

Responsibilities
- You will organize patient care by prioritizing, delegating, delivering and evaluating on an ongoing basis
- You will utilize the knowledge base of nursing education and experience to deliver nursing care using the nursing process according to hospital policies, procedures and protocols
- Collaborate with the nursing team to facilitate overall improvement in quality of care, patient experience and cost reduction
- Foster a learning environment for patients/families, nursing staff and members of the health care team
- Advocate for ethical and holistic care promoting the autonomy, dignity, and health of patients from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State or Multistate License endorsement (MLS)
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred
- Current BLS Certification required
- ACLS or NALS or PALS or TNCC or NRP certification, as required by facility or department
- Certification in specialty area preferred
- One (1) year of experience in acute care setting preferred

Position Summary
The Monitor Technician/Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) is an excellent opportunity to play an essential role in providing high-quality patient care, monitoring, and mobility. If you are a skilled communicator and love being the focal communication source, this is the job for you.
As a Monitor Tech/HUC at MultiCare, you will hone your patient care and monitoring skills, nurture your communications development, and collaborate with the Clinical Director in support of care and delivery of patient services.
Responsibilities
- You will perform receptionist and communications duties on the patient care unit
- Observe telemetry monitoring and recognition of cardiac dysrhythmias
- Support care delivery and services to patients from diverse ethnic and social groups
- You will regularly utilize your independent decision-making capacities and strong interpersonal skills
- Collaborate with Clinical Director and charge nurse for optimal care delivery and patient services
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Completion of an approved Health Unit Coordinator vocational training course and basic arrhythmia course preferred
- One (1) year of patient care experience preferred
- One (1) year equivalent clerical experience in a medical setting preferred
- On the job Training Provided: Successful completion of rhythm identification training and EKG telemetry competency test (experienced techs may bypass the training by passing competency test)

The Patient Access Coordinator is responsible for oversight of revenue cycle activities related to patient registration, referrals, precertification/pre-authorization, insurance verification, co-pay collections, customer service functions and training pertaining to front end operations to ensure financial goals are met. Completes and evaluates Patient Access functions and creates the first impression of UMC’s services to patients and families and other external customers. Articulates information in a manner that patients, guarantors and family members understand so they know what to expect and understand their financial responsibilities.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain and oversee planning and coordination of all patient registration functions to ensure effective cash flow through patient registrations, insurance verifications, pre-authorizations, collections and referrals to eligibility and outreach enrollment specialists.
- Develops, establishes, implements, and evaluates systems to monitor accuracy and timeliness of registrations.
- Develops, monitors and trends Key Performance Indicators for Patient Access and reports findings to the senior management.
- Facilitate communication between departments and PA management regarding issues of front end operations.

Position Summary and Purpose
The Accounting Manager is to coordinate, identify, recommend and perform the activities for the general accounting operations including general ledger, financial reporting, tax reporting, fixed assets, social accountability reporting, and audits as established by ULP. Assists in the organization and communication needs of the facility as it pertains to financial matters and managing multiple priorities.
The position supervises and maintains a staff of accounts payable specialists.
Develops, evaluates, and assures departmental goals and objectives are achieved.
Essential Functions:
• Serve as assistant to Accounting Director by ensuring that departmental procedures are properly documented and updated timely, resolving problems, identifying trends, determining system improvements and implementing changes.
• Develop and establish a strong working relationship between Accounting staff and other departments within the health system. The manager provides accounting leadership in directing general accounting functions, overseeing Accounting staff, handling any disciplinary issues and performing evaluations.
• Manages and performs the month-end close. Review monthly journal entries, account analysis and work papers; prepare monthly balance sheets and statement of operations, reconcile and review financial statements.
• Proactively provide assistance and support with the annual budgeting process to the necessary departments.
• Ensures compliance through utilization of GAAP principles and accounting laws and regulations.
• Maintain financial security by establishing internal controls. Interface with external and internal auditors to provide financial information and resolve financial questions. Prepare year end audit work papers and financial statements.
• Assist the IS department with upgrades or revisions to accounting software. To include testing, writing new procedures and training of accounting personnel.
• Prepare necessary documents and schedules to assist external auditors in filing year-end tax returns.
• Assist in meeting system objectives and ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Protect organization’s values by keeping information confidential.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
• Performs other duties as assigned, special projects and provide assistance as needed.

• Support systemwide finance initiatives, including ERP enhancements, process redesign, and reporting improvements.
