Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire an Infusion RN at our Oncology clinic
As a Infusion RN at MercyOne, you will Accepts responsibility and accountability for the delivery of care through the use of the nursing process while providing outpatient injections/infusions (including chemotherapy and other anti-cancer drugs, cardiac, and outpatient COVID related infusions) in the designated outpatient infusion areas. Directs and guides patient and family education. Cares for all types of infusion patients, including oncology/hematology, cardiac, COVID, and all other outpatient infusions while maintaining professional nursing standards. Practices nursing within the MercyOne North Iowa professional nursing practice plan.
Schedule:
- Part time 24 hours a week
General Requirements:
- Experience: Chemotherapy and cardiac drug administration experience preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in an oncology inpatient or outpatient health care setting preferred.
- Prefer minimum of 4 years of experience in a health care setting, inpatient, outpatient, home care, hospice or clinic experience, all possess transferable skills or knowledge valuable to the Cancer Center. Provides or facilitates learning opportunities to meet the educational needs of the patient and family by assessing the learning needs and formulating and initiating a teaching plan to meet those needs. Collaborates with the patient and family to identify complex teaching needs. Functions as a resource for department staff.
Education:
- Education: Graduate of a program in professional nursing.
- Current RN license in the state of Iowa.
- Must complete and successfully pass ACLS certification within 6 months of hire. Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) courses: Cancer Basics and Chemotherapy Biotherapy: Fundamentals of Administration course(s) and successfully complete Chemotherapy Skills Checklists prior to administering chemotherapy
- After 9 months of employment, must successfully complete the ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certificate course, and renew every 2 years.
- ·Strongly preferred OCN certification within 2 years of employment as well as having a current ACLS certification, or willing to obtain certification within 6 months of hire AND completing the necessary cardiac dysrhythmias and management courses within 3 months of hire.

Position Purpose:

- Guides and directs patient care activities for the above-indicated population, by utilizing clinical/critical thinking skills and evidence-based practice.
- Provides daily direction and guidance to Nurse Assistant.

Minimum Qualifications:

POSITION PURPOSE
A Patient Logistics RN serves as the central coordinator for complex patient transitions across the healthcare continuum, expertly managing inter-facility transfers while balancing clinical priorities, bed capacity constraints, and transportation logistics. This role serves as the first point of contact for referring hospitals, healthcare facilities, and community-based physicians/providers to coordinate emergent transfers and acute admissions to MercyOne Health Ministries. The specialized role requires exceptional clinical judgment to assess patient acuity, determine appropriate levels of care, and anticipate potential complications during transport. The Patient Logistics RN functions as a critical communication hub between referring physicians, accepting facilities, transport teams, and family members, ensuring that comprehensive clinical information is accurately conveyed to maintain continuity of care. Through meticulous attention to regulatory compliance, resource optimization, and patient advocacy, these professionals significantly impact patient outcomes, facility throughput, and healthcare system efficiency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

POSITION PURPOSE
