- Typically will be scheduled 2-3 days a week and every other weekend. Flexibility is needed to adjust schedule to meet the needs of the department.
Pay Range:
$19.80 - $29.70Job Summary:
Collects and transports blood samples from inpatients and outpatients. Monitor drug screen collections and document chain of custody. Review workload and resolve issues. Assists with clerical duties and provides specimen and report transport when necessary.
Major Responsibilities:
Performs venipuncture, capillary fingerstick or heel puncture as appropriate for inpatients and outpatients, using expertise to determine proper mode of collection for each patient in order to cause the least discomfort and obtain the highest quality sample.
Uses judgment for individual blood collections with regard to timing of test, special techniques or preparations needed, and proper handling and transport. Must recognize discrepancies and be able to resolve. Routes all specimens to appropriate area for testing. Follows OSHA standards.
Is proficient at accessioning, rescheduling, and appropriately ordering/canceling test requests in Laboratory computer system. Must utilize computer system to obtain work lists for blood collections scheduled by physicians and patient care areas.
Is available by pager at all times during shift for the stat/asap collection of blood or pickup of stat blood and body fluid specimens as needed. Interacts frequently with employees and patients in patient care areas while collecting blood samples. Works closely with phlebotomists and other laboratory personnel to assure the timely collection and testing of blood samples.
Between collection rounds while in lab, monitor blood collection requests, paging other phlebotomists when needed. Answers phone and organizes workload for next scheduled collection. Reviews status of orders/tests and follow ups as needed, including workload logs for each shift.
Sends and receives appropriate specimens/collection container through pneumatic tube system. Notifies appropriate supervisor or charge person if problems arise with the tube system. Loads/reloads printers used in Phlebotomy area of the Laboratory.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
Must be eligible for certification as a phlebotomist.
Education Required:
Must be a High School or GED Diploma Graduate. Completion of approved phlebotomy training course, or 6 months phlebotomy experience in hospital or other patient care setting.

Must have computer knowledge and skills. Must have manual dexterity, must maintain patient confidentiality.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Must be able to use visual near and distance acuity. Must have verbal ability to communicate in person and over the phone or radio. Must be able to assist co-workers in transfers and transport supplies, patients/residents, or equipment using good body mechanics. Must have functional range of motion of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spines, upper and lower extremities with a grip strength of 60-80 pounds, specific to the job class evaluation. Must be able to forward reach, overhead reach, bend, squat, kneel and change from one position to the other rapidly. Must be able to lift 25-60 lbs. and carry 25-50 pounds specific to job class evaluation. Must be able to tolerate high noise, busy atmospheres and noxious odors. Must be able to work in noisy environments and be self directed to complete jobs as ordered. Must be able to remain calm under stressful situations. Must be able to assess and respond to multiple situations simultaneously. Must be able to assist co-workers in multiple overlapping tasks simultaneously. Must be able to prioritize job tasks and organize work space to be efficient and conducive to completing work tasks as assigned in a timely manner. If job class is identified as falling under POPE C, the individual must pass the cardiac recovery test.

Minimum Requirements:

AH Navicent Trauma Services is seeking a Nurse Manager to lead the Process Improvement Program for its high-volume trauma department. This RN Program Manager will oversee all aspects of the clinical trauma process improvement program, ensure ongoing compliance with American College of Surgeons (ACS) regulatory standards, and support continued trauma verification. The role is responsible for achieving outcomes aligned with the organization’s mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives while maintaining professional competency in trauma clinical care, promoting a safe environment, and performing all job responsibilities safely. Ideal candidates will bring emergency department and leadership experience, strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively with physicians, hospital staff, and administrative teams. Major Responsibilities
- Assumes responsibility for the trauma continuum of care along with the Trauma Medical Director and the support of the Director of the Trauma Program. Supports programs which promote optimal quality of trauma care for adults and children.
- Assures all trauma center accreditation standards are met as required by the state's trauma system.
- Works closely with the Trauma leaders to prepare for ACS program surveys.
- Leads the trauma performance improvement and patient safety (PIPS) program with the monitoring of trauma clinical processes, trauma patient outcomes and system issues related to the quality, appropriateness, and timeliness of care.
- Coordinates multi-disciplinary trauma meetings as required by the Trauma PI Plan.
- Analyzes the trauma PIPS program and plan (as defined in Trauma PIPS Plan) to identify priority areas of PIPS activity.
- Provides input with budgetary process for the trauma program.
- Coordinates development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of clinical protocols and practice management guidelines.
- Provides educational opportunities for clinical staff development.
- Serves as a liaison to administration and represents the trauma program on hospital, regional and state committees to enhance trauma care.
- With the Trauma leaders, provides input and feedback on the trauma registry data collection process, validity, and contributes to ongoing review and update of the Trauma Data Quality Plan.

Examines requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient. Refers and questions orders to the Radiologist before performing exam. Contacts ordering provider when there are discrepancies.
Properly identify(Using two patient identifiers) and assist patients while offering a brief explanation of the procedures. Prepares patients for the procedure with a full explanation and documents on appropriate worksheets.
Interviews patients for a complete medical history. Reviews in-patients, ER, and outpatients EMR’s to obtain pertinent clinical history. Records medical history on requisitions. Correlates other test results and laboratory data with exam being performed.
Assumes responsibility for the exam from beginning of exam until completion of dictated results.
Prepares and administers IV contrast according to departmental protocols. On request, records contrast type and amount.
Evaluates technical quality of images and consults with a Radiologist if needed. Recognizes abnormal anatomy and processes any additional, reconstructed images, and/or measurements as instructed.
Performs basic patient care functions. Informsappropriate nursing personnel of any changes in the patient’s condition. Initiates life support measures for patients when necessary. Assists in “code blue” procedures during medical emergencies.
Performs CT scanning and assists Radiologist/PA during invasive procedures. Practices proper sterile technique in the preparation of necessary supplies. Performs all invasive procedures in accordance with bloodborne pathogens, isolation, and infection control policies and procedures.
Is authorized to obtain medication or contrast material as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner.
Practices principle of radiation safety for self, employees, patients and family members. Follows appropriate radiation safety standards.
Reports malfunctioning equipment to the department director/manager/supervisor and clinical engineering/radiology engineer precautions. Maintains knowledge and skills required to work safely in an environment that can create significant exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious disease.
Adheres to the hospital fire and safety procedures. Attends all in-service classes and completes all required safety modules.
Performs work in an accurate and timely manner in periods of crisis and emergency situations where time is critical. Rotates shifts as required including call back, holidays, and weekends. Adheres to the Atrium Health attendance policy by being punctual and taking measures to prevent absences.
Operates radiology computer system to include entering orders and charging procedures/supplies. Documents contrast administration in the MAR.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Education / Experience:
1. *Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), AND
A. 12 months of recent nursing experience within the past five years, OR
B. Recent completion of a re-entry nursing program.
OR,
2. Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with a minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience within the past five years
Exceptions:
1. *Current LPNs employed within the Emory Healthcare (EHC) system who have completed an accredited RN program and obtain RN licensure are eligible to transition into this role while completing the RN Resident Program.
2. Emory LPNs enrolled in an Emory ADN program as of 3/30/2025 must sign an obligation agreement to complete an ADN-to-BSN program within two years of entering the RN Clinician role.
3. Emory Warner Robins, Perry and affiliated Physician Groups location RN Clinicians with an Associate's Degree in Nursing with less than 2 years experience as a new hire or transferring as of 3/29/2026, must sign an obligation agreement to complete an ADN-to-BSN program within two years of entering the RN Clinician role.
Licensure: A valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing.
Certification:
1. BLS certification
2. ACLS may be required for certain departments, post hire
3. Additional certifications may be required based on department and specialty
4. If completing virtual care activities that may include multi-state practice, an active compact/multistate license (eNLC) is required within 60 days of hire. Employees in role prior to 11/09/2025 will have until their next renewal date to achieve compact status.
5. If hired into a Wound Care Dept., completion of an accredited WOC Nursing Education program is required. Must achieve certification in Wound Care and Ostomy Care within 12 months of entering the role.
