1. Assists in the coordination of patient admissions, transfers and discharges appropriate to the ages of the patients served to provide for a smooth and efficient flow pattern.
2. Organizes and maintains Patient Medical Record according to the Medical Record Policies and Procedures
3. Checks charts of patients scheduled for surgery or other special procedures to verify completeness of orders, consents, lab results, and signatures and makes copies as appropriate.
4. Promptly answers patient call lights and notifies appropriate personnel of response to call light. Initiates a face to face response, when necessary. Communicates in a manner appropriate to the ages of the patients served.
5. Utilizes the computer system independently to verify orders. Reviews new orders on PAL and responds to priorities promptly. Completes consults accurately.
6. Receives and delivers information timely and accurately. Immediately notifies RN of diagnostic results when called to the unit.
7. Reviews HUC audit form for compliance and reports any non-compliance to charge nurse and/or Director.
8. Completes and maintains documentation related to unit activities including but not limited to time and attendance, patient assignment sheets, current census within acceptable standards.
9. Restocks all medicine cupboards, nurse servers, and filing drawers with appropriate supplies/forms on a routine basis.
10. Orders, delivers, transports, receives, and returns supplies from ancillary departments according to departmental standards accurately and timely.
11. Performs efficiently in emergency situations such as code 69 and acute care transfers.
12. Maintains white boards in patient rooms and nurses’ station when assigned.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.

Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute, a part of Atrium Health, is looking for a Cardiology Acute Care NP or PA to join our team. *Sign-On Bonus Eligible*
- This role is an autonomous part of our team-based care model and utilized to top of license and scope on our inpatient general cardiology service.
- The APP will be part of a team of specialized cardiology MDs and APPs.
- The APP will direct in hospital care services and perform medical acts under the supervision of the Service line physician to all patients on the cardiology service including general cardiology, Interventional, and Heart Failure (HF) patients.
- Areas of clinical work include but not limited to medicine/surgical floors, cardiovascular telemetry unit, CVICU, med/surg ICU, Emergency Department, and the cardiovascular OBS unit. The APP is expected to be capable of reacting calmly and effectively in emergency situations and be able to work autonomously as a provider.
CARDIOLOGY AGACNP or PA:
- Responsible for daily rounding as well as inpatient service triage and patient throughput. Evaluating new and established patients from the ER and on the cardiovascular service as well as diagnose, treat, and manage common conditions in the cardiovascular population.
- Perform an appropriate history and physical exam, write emergent progress notes, assess, and prepare patient workups and follows core measures for documentation including hospital and 3rdparty payer requirements and appropriate patient care.
- Facilitate and order diagnostic studies including echocardiograms, stress tests, MRIs, CTs, and cardiac catheterization if indicated.
- Order appropriate laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures. Explained necessity, preparation, and risks and benefits of scheduled diagnostics and therapeutic procedures to the patient and family.
- Has the ability to recognize emergency situations and respond appropriately.
- Participate in evaluations with the primary supervising physician as directed by State laws.
- DAY SHIFT - 7on/7off rotation, holidays required
Position Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program. Current license to practice as a NP or PA in North Carolina. Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license required. BLS/ACLS Certified.
- Nurse practitioners are required to have Acute Care Certification.
- Physician Assistants with certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants required.
- Maintain ACLS and BLS certification as well as all licenses and certifications as mandated by the Hospital Credentialing Committee.
Ideal Candidate Qualities:
- 1+ years of experience as a provider required; experience in Cardiology
- Highly motivated with superb communication and organizational skills with a commitment to provide quality care to the patients we serve in the Greater Charlotte community
About the practice:
- The SHVI Union campus is a 182-bed tertiary care center with subspecialty support located in Monroe, NC with easy access to Uptown Charlotte, South Carolina, shopping, restaurants, and other activities, as well as several other growing suburban and urban areas to live.
- There are approximately 10 physicians and 4 APPs at this location whose subspecialties include:
- Interventional Cardiology
- Vascular Surgery
- Advanced Heart Failure
- Electrophysiology

2. Performs appropriate setup of oxygen, humidity therapy, Non-invasive mechanical ventilation, CPAP, BIPAP, apnea monitors and other respiratory care in accordance with established policy, procedure and physician.

3. Ensures basic anesthesia equipment is available in each anesthetic location including emergency airway equipment (i.e.bags, working blades, etc.). Assists anesthesia providers with intubations and other procedures by acquiring supplies, instruments, and lines. Responsible for storage, use and safe handling of bulk and cylinder gases.
4. Assists with line placement by aiding inserter.
5. Checks for expiration dates on disposable supplies. Ensures malignant hyperthermia supplies are available in assigned location.
6. Cleans up a hazardous spill ensuring SDS sheets are followed. Completes required incident documentation.
7. Sets up disposable supplies and assists with all therapeutic pain management applications (Blocks, Bier Blocks, Stellate Ganglion Blocks, Epidural Blocks, Intercostal Blocks, Trigger Point Blocks, etc.).
8. Sets up suction devices. Switches out anesthesia machine tanks and recording paper when needed. Confirms anesthesia equipment is available for CRNA/resident/MD including confirming power/gas sources & electrical cords are in proper working order; notifying Biomed & hands-on provider of concerns related to equipment & patient safety (i.e. loose sockets); and ensuring anesthesia equipment is properly cleaned prior to patient care & appropriately connected to emergency power outlets.
9. Provides Anesthesia support during all emergency situations (difficult intubation, latex allergy patient episodes, cardiac crisis, malignant hyperthermia, etc.) and routine case turnover including anesthesia post case cleaning. At end of day terminally cleans and dusts anesthesia equipment and prepares for next day use.
10. Anticipates anesthesia requirements for scheduled and emergent procedures and has equipment set up without requests from the MD/CRNA. Assumes responsibility for answering anesthesia pages during workday.
11. Sets up IVs, fluid warmers, and pressure transducers. Acquires computer pumps.
12. Monitors the inventory of consumable supplies. Ensures that the anesthesia carts are stocked and the anesthesia area is clean and uncluttered. May transport mobile cart’s medication tray to and from Pharmacy. Reprocesses reusable supplies.
13. Drains and reconnects hoses. Checks and changes soda sorb and tubing’s. Ensures the rotation of stock and the proper storage of electrical equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
In accordance with established standards and criteria, facilitates transition of patients from hospital to appropriate post-discharge setting: nursing facility, home health agency, acute rehabilitation, assist with notification and coordination of post-acute follow up medical appointments Long Term Acute Care hospital (LTAC) and/or Durable Medical Equipment (DME) vendor by maintaining caseloads consisting of patients identified as ready or nearing readiness for discharge.
Initiates referrals to nursing facilities, home health agencies, acute rehabilitation facility, LTAC hospital and DME vendors as tasked by the Clinical Case Manager .

Communicates with home care, post-discharge care facilities and other agencies as relates to patient placement needs.

Conduct appropriate and timely referrals to post hospital providers and vendors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
BASIC KNOWLEDGE:
Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in health services, health education or business administration is preferred.
Level of knowledge in healthcare delivery systems and services, clinical issues, discharge planning processes, third party payer regulations and the like, such as may have been obtained through experience in such roles as registered nurse, social worker, discharge planner, case manager, or similar position.
Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
One year of current relevant healthcare professional experience in healthcare setting or human service agency.

Intermountain Medical Center's Emergency Department is a 73-bed unit that specializes in Emergency/Trauma Care. We are 1 of only 3, Level 1 Trauma Centers in Utah and have a large catchment area that serves not only the Salt Lake Valley and the state of Utah, but many other states in the Intermountain West. We are a very large and busy department, providing emergency care for ~90,000 patients per year. Critical Care Technicians (CCT’s) work alongside the bedside nurses in caring for all the patients. SUMMARY:

Patient Registration including Patient Identification and verification, Patient Look-up, enter patient demographics, insurance information, guarantor, PCP, ordering provider, order tests, enter diagnostic codes, ordering provider following established policies and procedures for patient identification and verification, registration, test orders, medical necessity, and document scanning.

- Practices within policies and procedures of infection prevention by demonstrating hand hygiene and knowledge of sterile and aseptic procedures, proper disposal of contaminated materials and utilizing proper attire when in direct contact with patients in isolation.
- Coordinates tests and treatments with and between various departments for patients on nursing units. Maintains a working knowledge of functions and services offered by all diagnostic and treatment departments to facilitate the scheduling of tests and treatments. Maintains working knowledge of EHR system and other computer systems for ordering patient and unit supplies and equipment. Processes daily patient charges and/or related procedures through the system.
- Facilitates communications required to support patient care, including the multiple-line telephone, unit/site paging and the hospital information system. Screens incoming telephone calls. Monitors department office equipment and troubleshoots minor problems. Arranges repair of major malfunctions.
- Compiles necessary chart forms for admissions, transfers, discharges and expirations. Obtains appropriate copies of medical records for transfers to nursing homes and other health care facilities. Insurance Verification & Eligibility Management
- Review and validate patient insurance coverage prior to appointments.
- Manage daily insurance verification workflows for Connect Care clinics

Claims & Denial Management

- Support multi-state payer enrollment projects and maintain operational tracking tools for provider readiness.

Revenue Cycle Operations
- Work payer claim work queues and resolve claim submission issues.
- Manage claim corrections and coordinate with coding teams regarding CPT codes, modifiers, and telehealth billing requirements.

- Monitor reimbursement performance and support billing optimization efforts.
Prior Authorization & Referral Management

- Ensure compliance with payer-specific referral and authorization requirements.
Epic & Operational Workflow Support

- Assist with development of operational reports, payer tracking tools, and workflow documentation.

- Support lactation, behavioral health, urgent care, nutrition, and specialty telehealth programs with reimbursement guidance and claim resolution.

Minimum Qualifications

As an Orthopedic Surgeon at our Orthopedic Care Clinic, you'll work with a team of highly skilled providers that puts patients first! Throughout the day you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with primary care providers, other specialties, and excellent support staff! The practice provides full spectrum care that prides itself on high-quality patient experiences.
- General ortho focus, potential for sports med if there is an interest
- You would practice at our Orthopedic Care Clinic in Butte, Montana
- You would be joining a well-respected, established group of Orthopedic Surgery providers
- Extended program includes 4 experienced surgical APP's who provide support in the OR, hospital, and ambulatory clinic
- The clinic is conveniently located close to Intermountain Health: St. James Hospital providing easy access
- EPIC EMR utilization (system-wide)
- Excellent opportunity for mentorship, leadership roles, program expansion, professional growth, and plenty of program support
- The hospital is a Level III Trauma Center and an accredited Chest Pain Center
Compensation for PRN shifts
- Primary Call: $4,000 per 24 hour shift
- Clinical Hourly Rate: $333 per on-site hour
- Travel and accommodations reimbursed via the Intermountain Travel and Expense policy

What you’ll bring
- MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine
- Residency trained in Orthopedic Surgery
- Board certification or eligibility in the designated discipline
- Active, unobstructed Montana medical license, or the ability to obtain one

St. James Healthcare is a 98-bed Level III Trauma Center has provided care in Southwest Montana and the surrounding area since 1881, and our clinical network ensures community needs are met. - Manages the daily efficient operation of assigned sections of the laboratory, good quality assurance practices, scheduling, equipment and record keeping, maintenance of adequate supply inventory.
- Maintains all Corporate Compliance and regulatory requirements (CAP, TJC, OSHA) to ensure continual readiness in the department assigned.
- Assists leadership with development of long-range operational plans relative to services, programs, capital and Human Resource planning to include recommending of space and other resources needed.
- Assists with development of annual operational and capital budgets, reconciling variances within a required timeframe.
- Directs activities in the department relative to Human Resources to include timely submission of performance evaluations. Maintains accurate and current database and files of all employees. Coordinates all new employee orientation.
- Performs technical processes and/or clinical testing to ensure laboratory operations and uptime of patient test systems where applicable.
Physical Requirements
Works in an area which contains biohazardous (infectious) materials along with chemical, fire, and mechanical hazards. Each employee has the responsibility to work in a safe manner. May be required to stoop, reach and lift light (20 pound) to moderately heavy (50 pound) loads.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelor's degree required. At least five years prior supervisory or managerial experience in a laboratory setting preferred. MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), HTL(ASCP) or CT(ASCP) or equivalent required where technical or clinical testing is performed. Advanced education level is preferred.
