Where You Will Work:
A 32- bed Cardiac Unit specialized in patients with complex heart conditions including acute coronary syndromes, heart failure, arrhythmias, post–cardiac cath and procedural care, and post–cardiac surgery recovery. Our nurses provide continuous cardiac monitoring with patient ratios of 4–5, collaborating closely with cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and the multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based care. The team culture is supportive with a shared commitment for optimal cardiac nursing care while also providing a truly extraordinary patient experience.
We’re Looking For:
Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
What You’ll Do:
As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

What you will do:
The Senior Registration Associate is responsible for performing and overall coordination of clerical duties related to the efficient and service oriented operation of a medical practice. Perform and coordinate front-end functions to ensure achievement of established revenue cycle metrics, consistent with excellence standards and practice workflows:
- Scheduling and registration
- Check-in
- Check-out
- Charge entry/claims
- End of day processes
- General duties including but not limited to:
- Document processing
- Scanning
- Inbox monitoring
Responsibilities:
- Ensure distribution of work throughout the team is sufficient to meet daily schedules
- Display leadership qualities
- Manages daily staffing needs in coordination with office and float pool managers
- Serve as a mentor and role model to all colleagues
- Schedules patient appointments to maximize patient access.
- Handles all incoming calls and directs appropriately.
- Registers patient, obtains necessary consent forms and patient demographic data.
- Collects co-pay at check-in/or check-out when applicable. Documents monies collected and generate patient receipts.
- Acts as liaison between patients and clinical staff; monitors for delays and informs patient.
- Schedules all follow-up appointments at check-out, including ancillary and/or diagnostic tests.
- Obtains pre-authorizations for diagnostic testing for specialist office visits as assigned.
- Obtains referrals for specialist office visits.
- Consistently and accurately passes charges in accordance with office policies and procedures.
- Information Processing: Understands and performs parsing process on a daily basis to electronically file information into the Electronic Medical Record. Parses accurately in compliance with expected standards.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA regulations.
- Works cooperatively with all team members to ensure quality patient care at all times.
- Communicates respectfully and effectively with providers, clinical staff, colleagues, managers and others.

What you will need:
- Strong leadership skills required

$19.80 - $29.70Major Responsibilities:- Verifies positive patient identification to ensure patient safety. Assesses patient reactions to specimen procurement.
- Performs Venipuncture and collects other specimens from newborn, pediatric, and adult patients according to established protocol. Obtains medical assistance when judged necessary.
- Obtains specimens according to priority and scheduled draw times. Ensures completion of specimen collection functions according to protocol. Ensures that specimens are properly labeled and suitable for testing. Resolves specimen identification and/or requisition problems and clarifies requests.
- Performs limited testing under Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), 1988 guidelines according to established policies and procedures.
- Answers and screens telephone calls. Assists with inventory and maintains supplies and/or equipment. Provides assistance in support of Billing and other business functions.
- Accepts specimens from a variety of internal and external customers. Receives and sorts specimens. Packages and tracks specimens for transport. Processes specimens for testing, including aliquoting, pre-analytical steps, and loading instruments, while maintaining proper specimen identification. Responds to additional specimen procurement requests via pager or other means.
- Orders and verifies test requests. Documents appropriate information for quality assurance/improvement according to established protocol. Runs quality control checks. Takes appropriate action to notify providers of stat, critical and other abnormal results as defined by policy and procedure.
- Performs laboratory result entry in the computer system.
- Performs internal and external proficiency testing in the same manner as patient samples. Reviews various pending and management reports. Generates and distributes reports.
- Instructs employees and students in phlebotomy, data entry and specimen processing functions.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.

As a Registered Nurse at MercyOne, you will provide and direct safe, effective, and culturally competent care for patients with acute medical and surgical conditions. Through evidence-based practice, utilizes critical thinking to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate outcome-based care. The Acute Care RN manages a diverse patient population with varying levels of acuity, including post-operative, medical, telemetry, and neurologic patients. Supervises and coordinates care provided by LPNs, Patient Care Assistants, and other nursing team members. Facilitates communication with physicians, patients and families, and interdisciplinary team members. Essential Functions:
1. Conducts an initial assessment to gather data.
- Makes an initial assessment of new admissions within 30 minutes of the patient’s arrival to the unit.
- Completes all areas of the admission assessment database within 24 hours of admission.
2. Identifies patient problems and develops them into an outcome/goal-based plan of care.
- Initiates the patient problem list and incorporates relevant medical history into the plan of care.
- Analyzes and interprets the assessment data to identify desired patient outcomes/goals.
- Determines nursing interventions to achieve those outcomes/goals.

Major Responsibilities:
Performs Computerized Tomography procedures according to the policies, procedures and department requirements set up by the Medical Director of Cat Scan and the Manager. Performs as required, any post processing or required reconstructions specified by the department protocol. Performs service recover and escalates patient concerns to coordinator, Supervisor or Manager if necessary.
Obtains pertinent patient history and other relevant information, documents information on correct forms and ensures that documentation is complete and signed. Performs required Radiology Information System functions. Responsible for charging of patient exams, completion of exam workflow and verifying study information for interpretation by a radiologist.
Starts IV’s for patients following the guidelines set up by the radiology department. Administers contrast material as prescribed by a Radiologist. Monitors patient condition during procedure. Maintains appropriate inventory and checks all dates on supplies. Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation in the event of code blue. Notifies Radiologist when emergency medical help is needed. (i.e. contrast reactions and respiratory distress)
Performs quality assurance tests on all CT equipment. Maintains clean room and equipment. Maintains a well supplied biopsy cart.
Schedules patients when necessary and hands out patient prep for CT examination.
Assist in orienting new associates and training personnel on new Radiology systems or equipment when installed.

12-24 months experience in radiology. Graduate of Radiologic Technology program. 1 hour annually in stroke care

Performs clinical interventions, which may include medication profile review, IV to oral conversion, renal dosing adjustment, antimicrobial streamlining, patient counseling, obtaining medication histories, vancomycin/aminoglycoside dosing, therapeutic drug monitoring, and participation in multidisciplinary rounds.

- Provides direct patient care at the Emergency Medical Technician Defibrillation level according to the special events protocols, as well as applicable state OEMS guidelines.
- Functions as a support role to the paramedic or nurse during transport of patients from venue sites. Assist with packaging, loading, and providing care to the patient at the EMT-D level as directed.
- Drives the vehicles according to special events policy as well as state and local law. Ensure the safety of all passengers at all times.
- Ensures that the entire vehicle is cleaned and restocked after each event and/or patient transport.

- Maintains necessary certifications, skills, required continuing education, and mandatory in services.
Physical Requirements
Must have good physical stamina, endurance and body which would not be adversely affected by having to lift, carry, and balance at times in excess of 125 pounds (250 pounds with assistance). Motor coordination is necessary because of uneven terrain. Both the patient's and the team member's well being must not be jeopardized. Hearing must be in normal range as well as near visual acuity to be able to take accurate vital signs and to detect any deterioration in the patients condition. Normal eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity to give injections, medications and intravenous therapy. Must have good oral communication skills to take patient history, give instruction and communicate with physician about patient care.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Current applicable state EMT certification required. BCLS required. Current Drivers License required. National EMT registry preferred. 1 to 2 years experience with a 911 service as an EMT required.
