Job Summary
Responsible for planning and overseeing our business intelligence and analytics strategies across the Memorial Herman organization. The mission is to serve as a center of excellence that engages and advises the organization in the development and consumption of data to guide decisions along the healthcare continuum with the vision to be trusted partners providing actionable insights and capabilities that powers Memorial Hermann in the delivery of HEALTH. The role will accomplish the given objectives by effectively managing a team of analysts. This leader will serve as a facilitator and collaborator with leaders across the organization prioritizing specialized analytic requests, developing and implementing analytic solutions from data collection to deriving valuable insights, ensuring the various business partners can track and improve business performance and quality of care. Accomplish department objectives by developing and implementing quality controls and departmental standards; managing staff; planning, evaluating and prioritizing department activities; retaining staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, and providing personal growth opportunities for employees. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Establishes and monitors detailed calendar of each surgeon and uses this information in conjunction with OR schedule in order to proficiently schedule all cases in a timely fashion and provide best time utilization for surgeon.Continuously monitor and review length of specific procedure with specific surgeon to ensure optimal utilization of OR time.
2. If procedures are canceled, pulls future cases/appointments to keep procedure schedule full, requiring careful management and knowledge of internal staff schedules and preferences.Scheduler will be responsible for filling gaps with patients that only require procedure.
3. Assists in scheduling urgent and emergent surgeries.
4. Coordinates and schedules testing needed prior to surgery as may be required by the department.
5. Keeps up to date queue from tests ordered in EPIC by Physicians.Gathers ancillary testing forms received from Physicians when necessary.
6. Communicates information regarding impending surgery to patients and their families, within scope of knowledge of incumbent. Sends patient a letter (copies referring provider), with detailed instructions (required prescriptions if applicable), as well as appointment card.
7. Calls patients with appointment reminders. Intentions are to speak with the patient, and elicit a response on the intent of the patient to keep the appointment. Scheduler serves as a contact for future questions or concerns.
8. Confirms patient procedures within the Suite for Clinical staff.
9. Maintains inventory of patient instructions and educational materials as it relates to ancillary testing
10. Coordinates patient care with various clinics, pre-admission testing, and staff, within the Clinical Enterprise to accommodate procedure requests.
11. Obtains phone consent and coordinates care for DHHR patients (Department of Health and Human Resources).Will scan legal documents into EPIC System.
12. Arranges for pre-certification with third party payers as may be required by the department.
13. Completes any missing information; provides Referring Clinical Staff with request forms that aid in the determination of medical procedure, necessity of treatment, and/or necessary follow up.
14. Refers patients requiring financial assistance to social services and financial counselors
15. May maintain record of cases performed, including those with resident participation.
16. Will update the DEPOT weekly to reflect information about the case and any issue(s) with scheduling the case.

This position performs prescribed radiographic procedures in accordance with department/facility policies, procedures and protocols. This position ensures optimal care/treatment to patient population. This position is responsible for assisting clinicians and nursing staff in providing medical care, as well as, implementing and evaluating direct patient care. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment and skills to provide an excellent patient experience.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Prepares patients for exam and treatment by taking and recording vital signs, symptoms and other necessary measurements and recording chief complaint; documents pain scores as appropriate. Reports condition of patient which may be indicative of change in the patient's condition to the clinician.
2. Performs the setup, acquisition and processing of prescribed radiographic procedures in accordance with established departmental/facility policies and procedures. Educates patients/families regarding the procedure and/or treatment to be performed.
3. Assists providers with exams and minor in-office procedures which could include taking patients’ blood pressure, documenting respiration and heart rate/pulse, taking temperature, as well as performing phlebotomies, ear irrigation and EKG’s. Acts as chaperone as needed. Uses universal blood and body fluid precautions at all times and personal protective equipment as needed. Responsible for prioritization of patient flow through clinical process.
4. Coordinates and manages patient care including pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions and scheduling of patients for clinic, hospital and other ancillary medical treatments and tests. Responsible for communicating test results to patient. Acts as a resource to clinician in order to provide optimal patient care. May administer medications in accordance with established policies and procedures or as directed.
5. Prepares and maintains accurate documentation in accordance with established departmental/facility policies and procedures. This includes, but is not limited to, complete medical records including labs, authorizations, X-Rays, hospital records and any previous care pertaining to each patient visit. Provides complete and accurate information necessary for billing related to the patient encounter in a timely fashion.
6. Maintains a clean, functional environment, including exam rooms and storage areas. Cleans and disinfects equipment and instruments using appropriate solutions, following sterilization procedures, and following manufacturer's recommendations and OSHA guidelines in handling of hazardous substances. Performs basic maintenance of equipment and coordinates needed maintenance for prompt repairs. Evaluates equipment quality control measurements in accordance with established departmental/facility policies and procedures. Trouble-shoots equipment problems and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance.
7. Orders supplies and stocks patient care areas. Monitors inventory including medication/injectables and immunizations (e.g. expired medications/equipment and recalls). This position will complete all necessary on-boarding/orientation activities, including simulation training, as needed or directed.
8. Ensures the efficient operation and workflow of the department by coordinating patient workflow throughout the day. Ensures exam rooms are stocked, performing room set-up, establishing patient transport, and schedule coordination with multi-disciplinary team members.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSÂ
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Requires certificate or diploma from an approved/accredited school of Radiology program. Requires national certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensure by the state regulatory agency if applicable. BLS certification required. Requires successful completion of the Banner Health MA competency assessment. All direct patient care personnel are required to demonstrate competent performance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (BLS) techniques for adults, children and infants according to the standards of a nationally recognized, standardized, credentialed healthcare provider course every other year.
Requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Requires the ability to manage multiple changing priorities in an effective and organized fashion. Requires strong computer skills, including the ability to work with medical software
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge as normally obtained through graduation from an Accredited Medical Assisting Program. Experience with office medical procedures and treatments and knowledge of insurance, managed care operations, EMR and scheduling software preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for assisting clinicians and nursing staff in providing medical care, as well as, implementing and evaluating direct patient care. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment and skills to provide an excellent patient experience.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Prepares patient for exam and treatment by taking and recording vital signs, symptoms and other necessary measurements and recording chief complaint; documents pain scores as appropriate. Reports condition of patient which may be indicative of change in the patient's condition to the clinician.
2. Assists providers with exams and minor in-office procedures which could include taking patients’ blood pressure, documenting respiration and heart rate/pulse, taking temperature, as well as performing phlebotomies, ear irrigation and EKG’s. Acts as chaperon as needed. Uses universal blood and body fluid precautions at all times and personal protective equipment as needed. Responsible for prioritization of patient flow through clinical process.
3. Coordinates and manages patient care including pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions and scheduling of patients for clinic, hospital and other ancillary medical treatments and tests. Responsible for communicating test results to patient. Acts as a resource to clinician in order to provide optimal patient care. May administer medications in accordance with established policies and procedures or as directed.
4. Provides clerical support with patient/client notifications and documentation to include but not limited to complete medical records including labs, authorizations, X-Rays, hospital records and any previous care pertaining to each patient visit. Provides complete and accurate information necessary for billing related to the patient encounter in a timely fashion.
5. Maintains a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms and storage areas. Disinfects equipment and instruments using appropriate solutions following sterilization procedures. Follows manufacturer's recommendations and OSHA guidelines in handling of hazardous substances. Performs basic maintenance of equipment and coordinates needed maintenance for prompt repairs.
6. Orders supplies as directed, stocks patient care areas. Medication ordering and tasks related to all medications (e.g. expired medications/equipment and recalls).
7. Develops and maintains effective communication mechanism with all external and internal customers. Exemplifies service orientation and the team concept in all contacts.
8. This position will complete all necessary onboarding/orientation activities, including simulation training, as needed or directed.
9. This position works under the direct supervision of the providers. This position interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, concerning the health care of the patient. Also interacts with physician’s offices in order to report, ask for or clarify information. Prioritizes data from multiple sources to provide support for the response of the patient and family to changes in health status.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations.
Active Medical Assistant Certification is required. Certification or additional training must meet the requirements for Meaningful use. BLS certification required. Active Medical Assistant certification such as: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) with proof of current membership from American Medical Technologists (AMT) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with proof of current membership from American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) with proof of current membership from National Health Career Association (NHA) (Test administered after 7/1/2017 only) or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) with proof of current membership from National Certified Competency Testing (NCCT).

Minimum Qualifications
