Banner - University Medical Center South is a comprehensive academic medical center that includes an Emergency department, a state-designated trauma center and a Behavioral Health Pavilion. We are an Arizona Department of Health Services-accredited Cardiac Receiving Center and a Nurses Improving Care for Health system Elders-designated senior-friendly hospital. The hospital is staffed by physicians who are full-time faculty of the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson and is managed by Banner Health under an operating agreement with Pima County. Our specialty services include inpatient and outpatient behavioral health, treatment and education for diabetes, innovative geriatrics care and comprehensive orthopedics.POSITION SUMMARY
This position performs prescribed radiographic procedures in accordance with department/facility policies, procedures and protocols. This position ensures optimal care/treatment to patient population.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Performs radiographic procedures and analysis according to departmental guidelines. Uses independent judgment and applies learned methodologies according to established policy and procedures.
2. Educates patients/families regarding procedure and/or treatment to be performed as well as risk factors and prevention. Demonstrates professional behavior/conduct in all interactions; fosters teamwork, efficient use of resources and quality patient outcomes
3. Produces high quality images and prepares/presents them with other pertinent patient information for timely interpretation. Prepares and maintains accurate documentation.
4. Demonstrates competence in performing prescribed invasive/interventional procedures if applicable in accordance with established policies.
5. Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements. Demonstrates the ability to trouble shoot and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance. Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors. Adheres to safety policies.
6. Accountable for the ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities related to radiology practice. This includes maintaining confidentiality of all work information.
7. Assures the efficient operation of workflow of the department by performing other duties as assigned. Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and material to ensure non-interruption of services.
8. Independently performs prescribed radiographic procedures in accordance with department/facility policies, procedures and protocols to patients. Internal customers: All levels of medical imaging and nursing management and staff, medical staff, and all other members of the interdisciplinary health care team. External Customers: regulatory and health agencies, patients and family members.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Certificate or diploma from an approved/accredited school of Radiology program.
Requires national certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensure by the state regulatory agency if applicable. BLS certification required.
This position requires clinical knowledge typically achieved with 1 year of experience. Must demonstrate effective communication skills, human relations skills, analyze data and solve problems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family and assures completion within appropriate timeframe. Reviews available information obtained by other health care team members. Reviews diagnostics and laboratory data and reports abnormal results to the physician(s) and other appropriate caregivers. Completes assessment and reassessments according to patient need and as outlined in policy.
2. Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient, family and health team input. Initiates a plan of care based on patient-specific needs, assessment data and the medical plan of care. Goals for patient are realistic, measurable and developed in conjunction with the patient/family. Considers the physical, cultural, psychosocial, spiritual, age specific and educational needs of the patient in the plan of are. Plans care in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team. Reviews and revises the plan of care to reflect changing patient needs based on evaluation of the patient’s status.
3. Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the activities of the health care team. Provides care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, in compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and regulatory agency requirements. Delegates appropriately, and provides nursing supervision in the provision of care to patients by other licensed nurses and other personnel. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of patients for whom care is provided.
4. Evaluates the patient's and family's response to care and teaching, and revises the plan of care as needed. Evaluates patient progress towards goals and expected outcomes in collaboration with other health care team members. Evaluates patient's response and the effectiveness of patient teaching.
5. Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record. Documentation is legible, timely and in accordance with policy. Documentation reflects objective/subjective data, nursing interventions and patient’s response to treatment. Notes physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.
6. Provides care based on the best evidence available and may participate in research activities within clinical practice. Participates in unit or facility shared leadership. Interacts and participates in the education, role development, and orientation of facility personnel, patients, students, families and visitors. Promotes/supports growth of others through precepting and mentoring when appropriate.
7. Contributes to society through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes through timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and safe care. Actively participates in the improvement of national nursing quality indicators and outcomes. Such activities may include participating in professional organizations.
8. In some roles, this position may supervise staff and work flow of the department.
9. Interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, concerning the health care of the patient. Interacts with other health care providers in numerous settings in order to report and ask for or clarify information. Also works with clergy to provide spiritual support. Synthesizes and prioritizes data from multiple sources to provide support for the human response of the patient and family to changes in health status.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job. Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired. Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations. Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area. Banner Registry and Travel physician practice positions require a minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse in a physician practice or an acute care setting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree preferred. Professional certification preferred.

Banner University Medical University Medical Center is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator. This position is entry level and responsible for a variety of administrative support functions and customer service for an assigned patient care area which promote an organized, efficient delivery of care to patients. The position facilitates communication between physicians, nurses and patients, calls in consults and acts as a liaison with all other internal departments and external contacts.
Banner University is a Level 1 Trauma Center. The Emergency Department is a first of its kind for Banner Health and offers the most flexible and efficient layout which will allow us to deliver the safest and highest quality of care to our customers. The department is built with the newest technology to manage 60 + monitored private rooms and offers substantial physical space for both patients and associates to foster an excellent patient experience. Skills needed: Effective communication, being team oriented, calm temperament in stressful situations and ability to multi task.
This is a full time night shift position working from 6pm-6:30am.
Weekend and holiday rotations required. You will have the opportunity utilize our self-scheduling tool for shift and weekend coverage. Enjoy an 18%-night shift differential and a flat rate $1/hour weekend shift differential.

This position is responsible for a variety of administrative support functions and customer service for an assigned patient care area which promote an organized, efficient delivery of care to patients. CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Performs receptionist/clerical duties to support overall operating efficiency and effective flow of communication and information throughout the department. 6. Monitors and tracks the use and whereabouts of electronic equipment such as patient ID scanners and lap top computers. Ensures that all are accounted for and in working order.
7. This position works under local supervision and has responsibility for assigned unit only. Incumbents work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment with a strong focus on customer service. Interacts with other health unit secretaries and other staff at all levels throughout the facility. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

POSITION SUMMARY

3. Provides support in the acquisition and distribution of digital patient records. Digitizes, formats, and uploads film-based or digital images into PACS. Maintains accurate filling system as required based on established department protocols and procedures.
4. Fulfills requests for images and reports ensuring availability in system, hard copy (film), and/or CD as required and follows proper protocols for releasing confidential patient information.
5. Receives patient in applicable systems, confirms patient demographics and insurance information and performs insurance verification when required. May be required to calculate and collect copays, deductibles, and self-pay. Totals charges on patient’s super-bill at check-out. Enters pending discharges into the system. Coordinates patient appointments for procedures and treatments that may be required prior to timely discharge. Processes patient discharges. Coordinates transportation to care centers and residential homes as requested by patients or physicians.
6. Prints physician schedules, super-bills, labels and other applicable forms in preparation for next business day. Pulls and files patient charts and prepares new patient charts as needed. Prints and files transcription notes. Reconciles charge tickets to each day's schedule, identifies incomplete tickets, missing charge codes or missing diagnosis and notifies clinical staff. Forwards completed tickets and/or billing package to the business office or billing company.
7. Assists technologists and nurses in pre and post procedure room preparation by obtaining necessary supplies and assisting patients as necessary. Ensures procedure rooms are stocked appropriately. Understand sterile procedure and assists with setting up sterile trays, where applicable. Adheres to radiation safety policies. Escorts patients back to the patient exam rooms, takes vitals and patient history; may assist with patient treatment to include peripheral IV insertion, IV discontinuation and Point of Care Testing (POCT) if required by the assigned facility (completion of Banner’s peripheral IV insertion course and validation of skill must be completed prior to any peripheral IV insertion and discontinuation performed. POSITION SUMMARY

PCU Neuro Trauma is a 48 bed Neuro unit encompassing 8 EMU (epilepsy monitoring unit) beds. The Neuroscience Service Line at BUMCP offers state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment modalities for patients while creating a rich educational and collaborative environment for nursing and medical staff. Our exciting accomplishments include laser thermal ablation of tumors, awake craniotomies, surgery for brainstem lesions, and endoscopic microsurgery. As the first comprehensive stroke center in Arizona, we take a multi-disciplinary team approach that involves nurses in the plan of care for the patient.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.

This position supervises and oversees the operations of medical education within a specific department. Accountable for the activities required for accreditation, recruitment, and effective operation of the medical education program. This dual position provides front-line leadership to team members while organizing, supervising, and coordinating Graduate Medical Education (GME) program(s). Works both independently and collaboratively with GME to support the development, implementation, maintenance, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the assigned GME programs. POSITION SUMMARY
This position manages the day-to-day operations of a large or multi-site outpatient clinic, health center or a complex procedural practice and takes complete ownership for the successful operations including financial, employee engagement and retention, and patient experience. Responsible for ensuring that high quality patient care and customer service is delivered in the most financially efficient way. Works in a strong dyad or triad relationship with the physician practice lead(s) and/or clinical leadership on staff, leader and provider recruitment, development and retention. Collaborates with all Banner leaders in the market and the medical group to provide seamless and integrated service to our patients. CORE FUNCTIONS
1.Responsible for strong financial performance through ensuring proper controls and practices are followed and documented to secure the financial viability of the practice. Prepares and executes budget; monitors and approves payroll, ordering of supplies, and inventory. Also ensures accurate charge capture.
2.Provides exceptional leadership and promotes teamwork and collaboration. Creates an environment that supports high employee and physician engagement. Strategically selects, on boards, continuously develops, rewards, retains, and provides transparent performance feedback to all staff, leaders, and physicians. Maintains competencies to function in any of the staff roles as needed in order to support efficient operations. If in a clinical capacity, the incumbent must possess the appropriate licensure to function in the role.
3.Ensures compliance for various accrediting bodies and government agencies and performs all necessary reviews, audits, education, and training to maintain compliant status. Serves as the compliance liaison in designated practices.
4. Determines physical maintenance and equipment needs and repairs and coordinates with internal or external resources. Resolves problems relating to the physical plant on a day-to-day basis to ensure the environment support our employee’s engagement and meets our patients’ expectations.
5. Collaborates with market manager to build and maintain community partnerships and relationships to attract new customers, retain existing customers and support Banner’s desired brand positioning. Partner with Public Relations and Marketing to support location, provider and/or specialty promotion.
6. Continuously monitors the operations and workflow and revises operational procedures as necessary, in alignment with system practices, to ensure efficiency and drive extraordinary results. Constantly identifies and implements areas for improvement and efficiencies including identified quality indicators. Develops and maintains a culture of safety in order to prevent or reduce errors and improve quality for patients, providers, and staff.
7. Provides highest level of patient experience by ensuring data is monitored on a regular basis and staff are constantly exhibiting behaviors and services that our patients expect and deserve. Coach staff as appropriate to optimize the patient experience and lead by example creating a personalized experience for customers. Proactively leads service recovery activities.
8. Responsible for developing and implementing solutions on a project basis for Strategic Initiatives, Service Excellence, or Quality Measures. This work may have broader impact and scope beyond the incumbents assigned practice area. Provides influence and mentorship to less tenured Practice Managers and Supervisors. May also have a Practice Manager I as a direct report(s) and may serve in an interim capacity over a vacant practice.
9. This position has administrative responsibility for large or multi-site outpatient clinics, health center or a complex procedural practice designated practices yet collaborates within an integrated healthcare delivery system. Customers include, but are not limited to regional leadership, physicians, providers, practice management, and staff. External customers include patients, and their caretakers, regulatory bodies, vendors and the community. This position also develops plans to identify and reach short and long term goals and assure development and compliance with operating and capital budgets and achievements of financial performance. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires a level of business, consumer, and financial knowledge as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, consumer, finance or related field.

6. Prints physician schedules, super-bills, labels and other applicable forms in preparation for next business day. Pulls and files patient charts and prepares new patient charts as needed. Prints and files transcription notes. Reconciles charge tickets to each day's schedule, identifies incomplete tickets, missing charge codes or missing diagnosis and notifies clinical staff. Forwards completed tickets and/or billing package to the business office or billing company.
7. Assists technologists and nurses in pre and post procedure room preparation by obtaining necessary supplies and assisting patients as necessary. Ensures procedure rooms are stocked appropriately. Understand sterile procedure and assists with setting up sterile trays, where applicable. Adheres to radiation safety policies. Escorts patients back to the patient exam rooms, takes vitals and patient history; may assist with patient treatment to include peripheral IV insertion, IV discontinuation and Point of Care Testing (POCT) if required by the assigned facility (completion of Banner’s peripheral IV insertion course and validation of skill must be completed prior to any peripheral IV insertion and discontinuation performed. 8. Maintains adequate levels of office, dietary, and medical supplies and completes requisition forms when supplies need to be ordered. Reconciles supply order upon delivery.
9. This position assists in the operations of the medical imaging department under direct supervision with technologists and nurses in department. Incumbents work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment with a strong focus on customer service. Must navigate a variety of separate computer programs at any given time and handle multiple demands on time. Repackages bulk medications into unit of use packaging. Completes accurate documentation of medications compounded and repackaged per policy.
6. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with all policies, laws, and regulations. Performs quality control activities such as monthly nursing unit inspections and pharmacy section checks in a timely manner. Completes documentation of refrigerator temperatures, and equipment maintenance activities as required.
7. Ensures the proper use of garbing and compounding techniques in accordance with policies and has knowledge of basic principles within USP <797> and USP<800>, laws, policies, and procedures that pertain to compounding. Performs compounding and labeling of intravenous compounds and hazardous agents to include chemotherapy using proper sterile and aseptic technique as appropriate to the site of care. Understands the different product lines in sterile compounding (patient specific and non-patient specific batch) and the differences between the various populations (Adult, Pediatric, Neonate). 8. Handles narcotic medications following all federal and legal requirements as set through policy and procedure. Employees working at Banner MD Anderson on the Banner University Medical Center Phoenix campus must possess a State of Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. This is a requirement of the Whole Family Counseling Program held at this specific facility. Employees working in the Banner McKee Senior Behavioral Health Inpatient Unit must possess an Colorado Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.
