As a Room Service Attendant you will be a part of a cohesive team that strives to achieve premier patient food services. You will support patient meal service which may include setting up tray work stations, preparing/portioning assigned foods according to correct quantities, and/or assembling patient trays. You may help with providing patient menus and meal requests, and collaborate together with Nutrition Techs and Dietetic Technicians. You may also provide patients with their meal trays, helping them open their food and beverage, and providing excellent customer service.
Shift is 530am - 1pm & we are looking for someone who is available to work full time hours Weds - Sun (Mon & Tues off). This is a great way to get your foot in the door until you can move into a full time benefited position!

Registry/Per Diem positions do not have guaranteed hours and no medical benefits package is offered, however you will receive an extra 10% differential for being per diem, and you will be eligible to apply to core positions at any time. For Banner Staffing Services (BSS) team members, the food handlers' card is required within 30 days of hire.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides patients with menu and/or patient meal service, receives and forwards patient requests and communication to Dietetic Technicians and Dietitians when appropriate. Provides patient meal assembly according to correct quantities. This position strives to provide patient satisfaction regarding food and nutrition services.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Visits patients to obtain or discuss menu selections based upon dietary orders. Enters or records all daily patient meal selections and preferences for one or more patient units.
2. Demonstrates appropriate judgment with modified diets, food and menu knowledge when relating to patients. Requests Diet Tech or Dietitian assistance when needed. Edits patient menus as required.
3. Provides patient meal service which may include setting up tray work stations, preparing/portioning assigned foods according to correct quantities, and/or assembling patient trays.
4. Delivers and serves meals while making independent judgments about special requests, snacks and nourishments.
5. Provides excellent customer service on the phone or in person and resolves customer complaints effectively and efficiently.
6. Maintains food handling and sanitation standards to meet licensing agency requirements.
7. This position interacts with patients and families, other food service staff, nursing staff, dietetic technicians and dietitians. Requires the ability to follow a work routine, to work quickly and correctly while providing good customer service and maintaining dietary, food quality and sanitation standards. Resolves minor problems with patient menus and trays.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires reading, writing and mathematical skills.
Skills and knowledge of nutrition services as typically gained through one to two years of related experience.
For Banner Staffing Services (BSS) team members, the food handlers' card is required within 30 days of hire. For BSS team members in Tucson and Colorado, the food handlers' card is not required.
This position requires effective interpersonal communication skills and a friendly customer service attitude.
The work requires the ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines for working with cleaning chemicals, as well as the ability to learn and work with business computer software and point of sale systems. Requires the ability to learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests as required. Must have demonstrated effective customer service skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
Understanding of nutrition services, common modified diets, and portion measures. Additional skills and knowledge in health care nutrition services preferred. Bilingual skills preferred in some assignments.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

A strong sense of urgency, ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks at once, along with excellent follow through skills are required. Must have at least 2 yrs of Customer Service experience. We are seeking candidates who can work Day shifts as well as Weekend shifts and must have flexible availability for training during day shift as well as be available to do On Call Shifts on occasion if/when needed.
**All Acute Patient Access Services New Hires are required to attend New Hire Orientation & PAS New Hire and Systems Training.
Acute Patient Access Training is generally the first 2-3 weeks but can vary and runs Monday - Friday standard business hours.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is the first point of contact at healthcare facilities and assists patients with the administrative aspect of gaining access to medical treatment. This position is in a hospital-based setting which includes Emergency Dept, Inpatient, Obstetrics, Outpatient, etc. Responsible for in person patient intake and registration, providing superior customer service, accurately identifying, and obtaining authorizations patients’ insurance, verifying eligibility and benefits, generating patient estimates for services rendered, financial counseling, and collecting patient liability. Demonstrates the ability to resolve customer issues and provides excellent customer service.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Verifies patient’s demographics and accurately inputs this information into EHR, including documenting the account thoroughly to maximize reimbursement and minimize denials/penalties from the payor(s).
2. Proficiency with multiple services including, but not limited to inpatient, observation, emergency, obstetrics, surgery, imaging. This position may cover services 24/7.
3. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of insurance guidelines for all services. Proficiently verifies, reads, and understands insurance benefits.
4. Demonstrates proficient understanding that this position creates the first impression for our patient's experience with Banner Health. Demonstrates a positive patient experience through interactions and effective communication.
5. Proficient understanding of payer authorization guidelines. Accurately submits timely notification according to insurance guidelines using various systems to reduce/eliminate denials. Consistently meets all registration related key performance indicators as determined by management.
6. Obtains federal/state compliance information, consents and documentation required by the patient’s insurance plan(s). This includes a thorough understanding of accurately completing hospital-based compliance forms required by CMS. Uses multiple computer applications proficiently.
7. Consistently discusses financial liability with the patient(s) and/or families that includes: collection in full of patient liability, assisting patient in applying for Banner Line of Credit, setting up payment plans and/or assisting patient with Banner Financial Assistance policy/application.
8. Provides a variety of patient services and financial services tasks. May be assigned functions such as transporting patients, training new hire employees, recapping daily deposits, posting daily deposits, or conducting other work assignments of the Patient Access Services team.
9. Works independently under regular supervision and follows structured work routines. Works in a high-volume, fast paced, clinical environment which requires to ability to be adaptable, critical thinking, and independent decision making and to prioritize work and ensure appropriateness and timeliness of each patient’s care. Primary external customers include patients and their families, physician office staff and third-party payors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED is required.
Must have customer service skills or knowledge of patient financial services, financial, collecting services or insurance industry experience processes normally acquired over one or more years of work experience.
Requires the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision and to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Requires strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to effectively interact with a wide range of audiences. Strong knowledge in the use of common office software, word processing, spreadsheet, database software, and typing ability are required.
Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital or the Whole Health Clinic must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. Employees working at Banner MD Anderson on the Banner University Medical Center Phoenix campus must possess a State of Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. This is a requirement of the Whole Family Counseling Program held at this specific facility.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s degree in Business Management is preferred.
CHAA certification is preferred.
Previous patient access and/or cash collections experience is preferred. Work experience with the Company’s systems and processes is preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is the first point of contact at healthcare facilities and assists patients with the administrative aspect of gaining access to medical treatment. This position is in a hospital-based setting which includes Emergency Dept, Inpatient, Obstetrics, Outpatient, etc. Responsible for in person patient intake and registration, providing superior customer service, accurately identifying, and obtaining authorizations patients’ insurance, verifying eligibility and benefits, generating patient estimates for services rendered, financial counseling, and collecting patient liability. CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Verifies patient’s demographics and accurately inputs this information into EHR, including documenting the account thoroughly to maximize reimbursement and minimize denials/penalties from the payor(s).

7. Consistently discusses financial liability with the patient(s) and/or families that includes: collection in full of patient liability, assisting patient in applying for Banner Line of Credit, setting up payment plans and/or assisting patient with Banner Financial Assistance policy/application.
8. Provides a variety of patient services and financial services tasks. May be assigned functions such as transporting patients, training new hire employees, recapping daily deposits, posting daily deposits, or conducting other work assignments of the Patient Access Services team.
9. Works independently under regular supervision and follows structured work routines. Works in a high-volume, fast paced, clinical environment which requires to ability to be adaptable, critical thinking, and independent decision making and to prioritize work and ensure appropriateness and timeliness of each patient’s care. POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care. POSITION SUMMARY
This position is the first point of contact at healthcare facilities and assists patients with the administrative aspect of gaining access to medical treatment. Facilitates, coordinates, and monitors pre-transplant evaluations, the care of the transplant candidate awaiting transplantation, the care of the transplant recipient post transplant in the outpatient clinic. Facilitates and coordinates the care of the living donor for evaluation, donation and long term follow-up. Collaborates effectively with the interdisciplinary team to plan and implement the patient’s treatment plan, utilizing effective oral and written communication.
2. Facilitates the safe, equitable and timely placement of donor organs in conjunction with the donor procurement agency on a 24 hour on call basis in accordance with the regulatory agencies. Possesses advanced knowledge of OPTN/UNOS regulations and allocation policies. Collects and communicates patient information necessary for decision making regarding organ acceptance/rejection for transplant with the organ procurement agency and transplant surgeon. Reviews potential recipient’s current medical status to determine eligibility for transplant. Demonstrates advanced prioritization and critical thinking skills in order to contact/locate patient(s), arrange admission and pre-surgery procedures, schedule surgery and the surgery team, and educate patient/family.
3. Interprets and administrates current payor contracts to best meet the financial needs of the patient and program while maximizing facility and program reimbursement. Possesses integral knowledge of multiple payor contracts. Applies this knowledge to assure that services being furnished to the patients are in compliance with contract stipulations. Obtains appropriate transplant authorizations for services rendered for each phase of the transplant.
4. Establishes and promotes a collaborative relationship with physicians, third party payers, and other members of the health care team, utilizing effective oral and written communication. Serves as a resource to payors, health care providers, patients, physicians and their office staff for the referral of patients or re-directs to alternate transplant programs as required by insurance constraints. Educates other health care providers, payors and patients on concepts of managed care, managed care networks, transplant networks, individual care policies as it pertains to solid organ transplant.
5. Serves as a resource to the community, patients, family members, potential living donors, primary care physicians and payers regarding the transplant process. Develops and presents education and marketing programs. Participates in community and professional education efforts to promote transplantation and organ donation.
6. Participates in the transplant program’s quality assurance program. Evaluates current processes, identifies need for change and implements change via process improvement projects to achieve the optimal clinical, financial, operational and satisfaction outcomes. Acts as a change agent by continually monitoring processes to identify opportunities for improvement. Implements change through a multi-disciplinary work group process.
7. Internal customers include patients, families, transplant surgeons, transplant interdisciplinary team, management, nursing and medical staff, and other members of the hospital interdisciplinary health care team. External customers include referring physicians and office staff, laboratories, third party payers, pharmacies, community agencies, provider networks, and regulatory agencies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires current RN license in state of practice. BLS certification is required.
Requires a minimum of two years clinical nursing experience; to include a clinical specialty area such as ICU, PCU, CM, OR, ED, Dialysis, Oncology or Telemetry. Must have a working knowledge of care management, resource/utilization management, and hospital and community resources. Must demonstrate clinical proficiency in the care of transplant patients. Requires critical thinking skills to effectively coordinate a large volume of patients simultaneously. Must demonstrate problem-solving abilities, effective oral and written communication skills, and time management skills. CORE FUNCTIONS

2. Partners with the Chairs of Surgery, Anesthesia, and Medical Directors to ensure patient safety, clinical standardization, and operational objectives.
4. Oversees perioperative capital planning, including evaluating and budgeting for equipment refresh and new technology to meet operational needs.
5. Leads service line and specialty program growth, development and advises on the planning and expansion of surgical and procedural services.
6. Oversees competency-based training and education to staff within specialized areas, including trauma, cardiac, neuro, orthopedic, robotic surgery, transplant, Peds-NICU). Responsible and accountable to the various roles and competency requirements for staff members within the departments.
7. Actively participates in design and implementation of perioperative quality and safety initiatives to improve care across the system.
8. Partners with Banner affiliated ambulatory surgery centers to improve patient access to the appropriate level of care.
9. Ensures vendor accountability and partnership to ensure compliance with contracts while ensuring surgeon preferences are being met in conjunction with cost effectiveness.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires a level of business and clinical knowledge as normally obtained through the completion of a Master's Degree in business administration, health services administration or related field.
Requires a level of knowledge and ability normally achieved by a minimum of 5-7 years of progressive management experience. This position coordinates a smooth patient flow process by answering phones, scheduling patient appointments, providing registration of patient and insurance information, obtaining required signatures following established processes, procedures and standards. This position also verifies insurance coverage, validates referrals and authorizations, collects patient liability and provides financial guidance to patients to maximize medical services reimbursement efforts. This also includes accurately posting patients at the point of service and releasing information in accordance with organizational and compliance policies and guidelines.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Performs registration/check-in processes, including but not limited to performing data entry activities, providing patients with appropriate information and intake forms, obtaining necessary signatures and generating population health summary.
2. Verifies insurance eligibility benefits for services rendered with the payors and documents appropriately. Assists in obtaining or validating pre-certification, referrals, and authorizations
3. Calculates and collects patient liability according to verification of insurance benefits and expected reimbursement. Explains and provides financial policies and available resources for alternative payment arrangements to patients and their families.
4. Enters payments/charges for services rendered and performs daily payment/charge reconciliation in a timely and accurate manner. Balances cash drawer at the beginning and end of the day and prepares daily bank deposit with necessary paperwork sent to centralized billing for record purposes.
5. Schedules office visits and procedures within the medical practice(s) and external practices as necessary. Maximizes reimbursement by scheduling patients in accordance with payor plan provisions. Confirms patient appointments for the following day as necessary and ensures patients are properly prepared for visits.
6. Demonstrates proactive interpersonal communications skills while dealing with patient concerns through telephone calls, emails and in-person conversations. Optimizes patient flow by using effective customer service/communication skills by communicating to internal and external customers, care team, management, centralized services and HIMS.
7. Assists in responding to requests for patient medical records according to company policies and procedures, and state and federal laws.
8. Provides a variety of patient services to assist in patient flow including but not limited to escorting patients, taking vitals and patient history, assisting in patient treatment, distributing mail and fax information, ordering supplies, etc.
9. Works independently under regular supervision and follows structured work routines. Works in a fast paced, multi-task environment with high volume and immediacy needs requiring independent decision making and sound judgment to prioritize work and ensure appropriateness and timeliness of each patient’s care. This position requires the ability to retain large amounts of changing payor information/knowledge crucial to attaining reimbursement for the services provided. Primary external customers include patients and their families, physician office staff and third party payors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
Requires knowledge of patient financial services, financial, collecting services or insurance industry experience processes normally acquired over one or more years of work experience. Requires the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision and to work independently.
Requires strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to effectively interact with a wide range of audiences. Strong knowledge in the use of common office software, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software are required.

The Patient Care Coordinator will serve as a provider Liaison to all staff and services. The PCC will receive instruction from the provider and ensure its completion by delegating to the appropriate team member. On occasion, the PCC will reach out to the appropriate staff to obtain a status update. The PCC is not a leader role; however, they are responsible for establishing effective communication within their assigned service line for the completion of all tasks and requests. This position is responsible for providing personalized coordination, clarification and communication of all administrative aspects of care including patient needs assessments, insurance and authorization verification, registration, maintaining and handling of documentation, and scheduling of appointments. This position partners with the clinical care team to ensure a seamless experience for the patient and their family across the entire continuum of their treatment. This position assists with providing resources to help the patient maintain optimal care. This position performs follow-up tasks identified during the patient needs assessment for management of patients across the healthcare continuum or when the patient is in the continuum and needs additional resource support.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Performs patient intake process, which may include pre-registration/registration. Partners with the clinical care team to determine initial authorizations needed based on the predicted care treatment plan. Obtains patient insurance benefit information for all aspects of the treatment, including, but not limited to, inpatient and outpatient services, prescription drugs, and travel and housing, if necessary. May also answer questions regarding the authorization process and supply information to providers, patients and third party payors.
2. Acts as a resource for insurance coverage, which may include obtaining authorizations and notifications throughout the patient’s treatment. Obtains all necessary signatures and documentation required by the patient’s insurance plan. Accurately and completely documents all information into the patient records system to ensure maximum reimbursement. Monitors and updates information regarding insurance data, authorizations, preferred providers and changes in patient’s treatment plan. Partners with the clinical care team and insurance provider to ensure continued coverage of patient’s care and maximum reimbursement and minimized financial impact to the patient.
3. Provides administrative support in maintaining materials such as documents, proposals, routine correspondence, spreadsheets, composing and preparing routine reports, and maintaining records in a variety of business software and database applications for electronic medical records, billing, data management.
4. Schedules physician appointments, tests, procedures and surgeries and may provide patient with necessary preparation instructions. Prepares, processes, and manages patient documentation to department database . Acts as a liaison between the patient, billing department, and payor to enhance account receivables, resolve outstanding issues and/or patient concerns.
5. Optimizes patient experience by using effective customer service. Communicates continually with patients, other departments, referral networks and providers to ensure appropriate plans and protocols are followed. Uses discretion and is attentive to issues of customer confidentiality. Demonstrates skills in pro-active resolution and attempts to resolve scheduling conflicts.
6. May manage the medical record for the assigned area, including coordination with hospitals, practice offices and other ancillary services to obtain needed records. Responds to patient referral requests for tests, procedures and specialty visits. Follows guidelines and may assist in developing procedures to ensure that medical records are in compliance with all state and federal laws. May also reconcile charge tickets, identifying incomplete tickets, missing charge codes or missing diagnosis codes. Notifies clinical staff as needed.
7. Works independently under general supervision, following established procedures. Uses knowledge and problem-solving skills to work independently in a clinic/physician practice environment. Responsibility for ensuring efficient coordination of administrative functions supporting patient needs assessments, insurance and authorization verification, registration, maintaining and handling of documentation, financial counseling, and scheduling of appointments. Internal and external customers include patients and their families, physician offices, third party payors, vendors, clinical staff, ancillary staff, therapist, nurses and case managers. Primary responsibility is to main department assigned, however cross-over and assistance to other departments is required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
Requires skills and abilities typically attained with three or more years working in a hospital or medical office. Requires knowledge of medical terminology. Must be able to work under minimal supervision and make independent decisions using good judgment. Excellent communication, human relations, attention to detail and organizational skills are required. Must possess highly developed interpersonal relations and process coordination skills.
Roles supporting mobile medical unit require travel within local community.
Requires knowledge of payer contract terms and processes. Requires the ability to perform basic math function and the ability to handle confidential information and sensitive issues. Must be able to work effectively with common office software and hospital software to perform intake and updates to patient medical history in addition to other software used in scheduling and billing.
