Position Summary:
Respiratory Care Associates perform routine Respiratory Care procedures according to established standards in General Patient Care areas and under direct supervision of a therapist in the Adult Critical Care Units, Pediatric and Neonatal Critical Care Units and the Emergency Department. Therapists are required to direct and oversee the activities of associates who may be assigned to work with them while performing advanced procedures such as mechanical ventilation. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.
Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program for Respiratory Care
Experience in an acute care setting preferred.
Successful completion of Therapist Multiple-Choice Examination (TMC) within 90 days from date of graduation. Must acquire Licensure from the State of Michigan; Status as Graduate Respiratory Therapist will be maintained until State of Michigan License is granted
Current BLS certification
Satisfactory performance on the respiratory care medication competency test
Completion of the respiratory department requirements for orientation which includes Hospital, Core, and Department specific orientation
• Ability to read, interpret, and analyze data from various computer systems and equipment in order to set an appropriate plan of action
• Must be able to constantly communicate both verbally and in writing. Activities and treatments must be recorded in an accurate manner and technical information and instructions must be communicated to patients, families, and all members of the care delivery team.
• Excellence in internal and external customer service must be demonstrated.
Work which produces high levels of mental/visual fatigue, e.g., interactive and repetitive or small detailed work requiring alertness and concentration for sustained periods of time, the operation of and full attention to a personal computer or CRT between 40 and 70 percent of the time.
Involves regularly lifting of bulky or moderately heavy weights (i.e., up to 50 pounds), and occasionally assisting with heavier tasks or expending the equivalent effort in pushing, pulling, or otherwise handling material, equipment, and other objects.
• Performs as an integral part of the patient care team.
o Assesses patients' respiratory status using basic assessment skills including chart/monitor review and physical assessment.
o Performs basic respiratory care procedures including oxygen delivery and medication administration.
o Assembles, checks, and corrects malfunctions associated with Respiratory Care equipment.
o Under supervision of a LRT, performs necessary measurements/calculations and assists in determining appropriate parameters for mechanical ventilation.
o Under supervision of a LRT, performs emergency and acute Respiratory Care procedures.
• Communicates appropriately and effectively with other members of the healthcare team regarding all aspects of patient care.
• Regularly communicates with his/her shift charge therapist as to activity in his/her area and availability to help areas.
• Participates in department performance improvement activities
• Assumes responsibility for professional development.

Position Summary:
Respiratory Care Associates perform routine Respiratory Care procedures according to established standards in General Patient Care areas and under direct supervision of a therapist in the Adult Critical Care Units, Pediatric and Neonatal Critical Care Units and the Emergency Department. Therapists are required to direct and oversee the activities of associates who may be assigned to work with them while performing advanced procedures such as mechanical ventilation. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.
Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program for Respiratory Care
Experience in an acute care setting preferred.
Successful completion of Therapist Multiple-Choice Examination (TMC) within 90 days from date of graduation. Must acquire Licensure from the State of Michigan; Status as Graduate Respiratory Therapist will be maintained until State of Michigan License is granted

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assists with the deployment of departmental goals that support the mission, vision and values of the organization.

- Provides input to Nurse Manager/Director on budget preparation.

The individual in this position will collaborate with the physician and healthcare team in the delivery of patient care, utilizing the nursing process. Education: (None)
Licenses/Certifications: Certified in Basic Life Support issued by (AHA) American Heart Association within 90 days of employment.
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
One (1) year of prior patient care experience (e.g. Certified Nursing Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician, or Patient Care Technician) or similar role required, preferably in an acute care setting.
Proficiency in all Core Competencies of the PCT I and II position as noted in Memorial Hermann’s PCT Competency Based Tool and as validated by Memorial Hermann Clinical Education no later than the end of orientation.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Provides direct patient care for assigned patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
Direct patient care duties include but are not limited to vital signs (pre and post treatment, as applicable), visual monitoring of a patient’s condition, hygiene support, toileting support, mobility support, nutrition support, bathing support, charting, and other activities of daily living as needed.
Responsible for timely and accurate documentation of information. Should appropriately report any unusual changes or findings to the nurse.
Assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean working environment.
Demonstrates safe work practices and attitudes; follows safety rules; works to prevent unsafe conditions and behaviors; participates in organizational departments’ safety programs; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies and procedures.
Obtains and prepares laboratory specimens as prescribed within the scope of the role.

The Nurse Residency Program
A 12 month transition-to-practice program designed to provide new graduate nurses a comprehensive evidence-based curriculum to support new nurses to a competent level of practice.
This program is supported by the Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program™ curriculum, as well as ongoing Memorial Hermann Clinical Development programs.
We agree a healthy support system is the key to achieving success in a clinical curriculum, which is why our System Nurse Residency Program follows a cohort-focused model where you are able to grow and develop your nursing skills in a supportive setting. There is still a lot to learn after nursing school and we know finding a job and gaining hands-on experience can be overwhelming; our program is structured to help you develop in three critical areas: leadership, quality outcomes, and professional role.

Eligibility & Requirements
- Ideal candidates will have a GPA of 3.0 or higher in an accredited nursing program.
- Completion of a nursing degree from an accredited program; BSN preferred.
- Current Texas RN license or temporary permit.
- BLS Certification from American Heart Association.

Provides clerical support on a patient care unit by preparing charts, forms and menu requests and other routine clerical duties related to patient admission, discharge, and administrative matters. Principal Accountabilities
Supports and maintains a variety of non-clinical and ancillary services of assigned patient care units including, but not limited to:
Environmental services, maintenance, central supplies, food/nutrition, and related unit support functions; monitors inventory of office supplies
Greets visitors, answers telephones and patient intercoms, relays messages or requests to appropriate personnel; distributes and posts daily schedule of cases for designated area.
Compiles statistics and data for reporting purposes and maintains census reports; assembles/disassembles patient records and admit packs, checking charts for completion.
Receives physicians and visitors on the unit to create an environment of service; identifies, acknowledges, and responds to patient, physician, staff needs; manages patient call light process, ensuring patient needs are met.
Ensures appropriate patient flow by admitting/transferring/discharging patient in computer system and notifying appropriate personnel of patient status; places patient descriptors on room doors; arranges for transportation/assists in transporting patients to other departments, as assigned.
Schedules patient testing, delivers specimens to lab; receives STAT lab results and posts in the patient record; assists in ordering and serving patient meals, transporting patients, and performing indirect patient care duties at a competent level and according to the needs of the patient population served.
Prepares, fills, and reconciles supply orders; enters charges for services and supplies into computer system for patient record; performs inventory; orders office supplies.
Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.

Memorial Hermann TMC seeks a PRN Med Tech or MLT to join our team. Will cover weekends and during the week as needed. 2nd and 3rd shift.Must be able to provide coverage at least 4 shifts per month. Flexibility to attend 3 days of orientation during the first week of employment.

Principal Accountabilities
Performs and documents test results, quality control, maintenance procedures and associated corrective actions according to policy/procedure.
Manages/performs other aspects of daily lab operations including collections, sample processing, result reporting/distribution, personnel direction (as appropriate), and clerical duties as required to maintain efficient work flow, at a competent level and according to the age/needs of the patient/population served, communicating special circumstances to appropriate personnel.
Interacts with hospital personnel, volunteers, physicians and patients as to specimens and orders coming into the Laboratory and/or reporting results out according to the policies and procedures of the Laboratory Services and with sensitivity to customer needs.
Complies with policies, procedures, and initiatives of laboratory services, the hospital, and system; understands, communicates and complies with standards and conditions set forth by various governmental and accrediting agencies including TJC, FDA, CAP, AABB, CMS, HCFA and CLIA.
Performs duties in a manner to promote quality patient care and customer service/satisfaction, while promoting safety, cost efficiency, and a commitment to the PI process.
Gains/maintains functional knowledge of system computers as required by job assignment.
Supports system and hospital customer service and quality initiatives. Recognizes customer satisfaction issues and responds appropriately.

Job Summary
Founded in 1925, Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center (TMC) is the primary teaching hospital for the McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). As one of only two certified Level I trauma centers in the greater Houston area, the hospital provides 24/7 emergency and trauma care. Memorial Hermann Life Flight® provides emergency rescue within a 150-mile radius.Position responsible for providing leadership to the department – overseeing the daily operations – managing and developing departmental staff, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team in the delivery of patient care, utilizing the nursing process, ensuring the delivery of quality care to patients.
We are looking for someone with three or more years of operating room experience and at least one year of supervisory or management experience in the OR. Experience in the services line area (ENT/OMF/Ophthalmology) is a plus. Level 1 Trauma Center experience is also a plus.
