*Job Overview:*
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated relief Pharmacist to join our team. As the relief pharmacist, your role will be to fill in when the pharmacist in charge is not available, such as for vacation or scheduled absences. This role does not have regularly scheduled hours and will be necessary for an average of *7-14 work days annually.* As the relief Pharmacist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, providing patient care, and collaborating with healthcare professionals. This is a vital role in our organization, and we are looking for someone who is knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional pharmaceutical care.
The relief provides clinical pharmacy services to the company and consumers through the appropriate evaluation of physician orders, compounding of sterile preparations, and safe and efficient dispensing of medications, supplies, and administration equipment. The relief pharmacist may supervise the activities of pharmacy support personnel, as well as quality control and performance improvement procedures. This position reports to the pharmacy manager. This position can, at any time, be required to assume the duties of any of the various job summaries within the location.
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently
- Review medication orders for appropriateness and potential drug interactions
- Provide medication counseling to patients regarding proper usage, side effects, and precautions
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop patient care plans
- Monitor patient responses to drug therapy and make recommendations for adjustments as needed
- Conduct medication reconciliation to ensure accurate medication histories
- Perform drug utilization reviews to optimize medication therapy
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate records of medications dispensed and patient consultations
*Experience:*
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- BSPharm or PharmD degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
- Current state pharmacist license in good standing
- Strong knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, and pharmacology
- Experience in acute care or hospital pharmacy settings preferred
- Proficiency in IV infusion techniques
- Familiarity with utilization management principles and practices
- Ability to assess patients' medication needs across various age groups, including pediatrics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*Position: *
This is a PRN type position, with an average of 7-14 working days annually. This pharmacist role will be utilized during periods of vacation, training, or other absences for the pharmacist in charge. Dates will be scheduled in advance where possible, emergency coverage availability is a plus.
This opportunity is ideal for a retired pharmacist, part-time pharmacist seeking occasional supplemental income, or a pharmacist looking to maintain their clinical practice without committing to a regular schedule.

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
