JOB SUMMARYUnder the direction of the Director of Medical Imaging Services, works closely with the Chief/Lead Technologist and Radiologists to perform diagnostic computerized tomography (CT) examinations, contributing to the efficient operation of the department and promoting the philosophy of the organization, to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care for patients of all ages. Performs and records quality control data for departmental equipment, reporting needs for repairs or preventative maintenance. Participates in performance improvement areas that are identified.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Shall be capable of operating CT related radiographic equipment, perform radiological procedures, operate the PACS and utilize radiographic supplies per department standards.
• Participates in On Call requirements, supporting CT services in the Medical Imaging Department, as well as back-up support for 2nd and 3rd shifts in Diagnostic Radiology.
• Manages the work flow of the department to ensure the completion of work assignments.
• Identifies each patient, reviews orders for consistency (examination ordered/clinical diagnosis) and records pertinent data in RIS/PACS at all times.
• Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed examination to Radiologist, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.
• Demonstrates ability to organize patient care and set priorities by providing critical care first and by implementing the physician’s orders.
• Implements care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent, and continuous manner to ensure the delivery of quality care according to age specific guidelines ranging from infancy to geriatrics.
• Adheres to all department/Hospital safety procedures for patient and material handling.
• Demonstrates an understanding of and adherence to Compliance and Ethics Program.

• Manages the work flow of the department to ensure the completion of work assignments.

About the Acute Care Rehabilitation Team
The Acute Care Rehabilitation Team provides inpatient occupational, physical, and speech therapy services throughout Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.
Occupational Therapists partner closely with physicians, nurses, rehabilitation therapists, child life specialists, social workers, respiratory therapists, and case managers to support patients with:
Critical illness and intensive care needs
Cardiac and post-surgical conditions
Neurological diagnoses
Orthopedic injuries and conditions
Complex medical disorders
Chronic and developmental conditions
Our team focuses on maximizing function, promoting independence, supporting developmental milestones, educating caregivers, and facilitating safe discharge planning.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate and treat pediatric patients with developmental, neurological, orthopedic, cardiac, post-surgical, and medically complex diagnoses
Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that promote functional independence, participation, and developmental progress
Provide occupational therapy interventions in an acute care hospital environment
Assess self-care, fine motor, cognitive, sensory, and functional performance skills
Educate patients, families, and caregivers to support successful outcomes beyond hospitalization
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient care
Participate in discharge planning and continuity of care efforts
Maintain timely, accurate documentation consistent with hospital and regulatory standards

• Treatment Planning & Goal Setting (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery in developing a plan of care that incorporates treatment interventions focused on meeting objective goals. • Rehabilitation Therapist Patient Evaluation (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery in evaluating patients with physical deficits including impairments, developmental disabilities, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function by obtaining information pertinent to the assessment and administering and scoring standardized tests and objective measures of deficit areas. Selects appropriate measures and performs a functional assessment to document patient's status requiring skilled therapy. Interprets the results of the assessment and their significance to the patient, family, referring physician and other members of the health care team. Demonstrates experience in clinical evaluation skills and may serve as a mentor for other clinical staff to develop their skills in evaluation techniques. Contributes to the development of best practices for the organization. May consult with team members to implement new procedures.
• Treatment Implementation (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery in providing treatment consistent with physician prescription and established plan of care. Able to modify treatment plan as needed to demonstrate provision of skilled therapy services including progression of treatment throughout course of care, and revision of treatment interventions of goals not met. Supervises and directs certified athletic trainers (PT only), physical therapist / occupational therapist assistants, technicians and volunteers and students. Selects and follows correct protocol for care, as established, and actively seek out, utilize and mentor/teach others on current evidence based treatment strategies. Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt is seeking a Pediatric Physical Therapist to join our Acute Care Rehabilitation Team. This role provides inpatient physical therapy services to infants, children, and adolescents with complex medical and cardiac conditions within one of the nation's leading pediatric heart programs.

The Vanderbilt Pediatric Heart Institute is one of the largest and most comprehensive pediatric cardiac programs in the country. The program provides advanced care for congenital and acquired heart disease, including cardiac surgery, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, heart failure management, ECMO, and heart transplantation.
The cardiac service line includes:
Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PCICU)
A 23-bed intensive care unit caring for newborns through adolescents with congenital and acquired heart disease. Patients include those recovering from complex cardiac surgery, heart transplantation, and other advanced cardiac interventions.
Pediatric Cardiology Inpatient Unit
A step-down and acute care unit supporting patients from ICU transition through discharge, with a focus on rehabilitation, education, care coordination, and family-centered recovery.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate and treat pediatric patients with cardiac, developmental, neurological, orthopedic, post-surgical, and medically complex diagnoses

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- With assistance, prepares and processes new IRB research proposals, amendments, continuing review applications and adverse event reports according to institutional and departmental policies and procedures and federal regulations
- Prepares and maintains documents required to be maintained and available internally and for regulatory authorities and/or the sponsor prior to, during and after the conduct of a clinical/translational trial. Participates in periodic site visits from sponsor, regulatory authorities and others to review research, source documentation and research procedures
- Procures equipment and supplies needed to fulfill project requirements
- Records data from source documentation and/or participant interaction onto case report forms (either paper or electronic) with awareness and attention to the requirements for accuracy, completeness and timeliness. - Performs packaging and ships study specimens (blood, urine, etc.) to the sponsor or laboratory in accordance with sponsor and shipping guidelines and regulations, maintaining appropriate documentation
- With direction assists with study completion, study closeout and archiving of study files, ensuring completeness and continuity of all study data, performing ongoing checks of clinical/translational data that has been entered on the case report forms (paper or electronic) or in reports
- With supervision, develops and manages study budgets, monitoring efficient invoicing and taking appropriate action to maintain clinical trial billing compliance
- Serves as an advocate for human subjects by establishing and maintaining communication with Investigators, research staff, Sponsors, participants and representatives of professional organizations, participant advocates, and the public responsible for, or concerned about, protections for human participants of research and through ongoing monitoring of trial processes and participants
- Participates in the determination of eligible candidates for study participation, assuring participants fulfill eligibility requirements. Independently works off assessment skills to activate patient care protocols to deliver patient care within his/her full scope of practice as defined by the state of Tennessee and LifeFlight's scope of practice. Maintains equipment per regulatory and compliance standards. Responsible for effective communication to ensure safe and quality patient care with team, transport and handover.
LifeFlight Ground EMS started with a single ambulance in the fall of 2011, and after several expansions now includes a fleet pf 21 Advance Life Support (ALS) equipped ground ambulances operating from five locations in the Middle Tennessee areas: Nashville, Wilson County (Lebanon), Coffee County (Tullahoma), Montgomery County (Clarksville) and, Bedford County (adjacent to Vanderbilt Bedford). These ambulances predominantly focus on interfacility transfers and discharges from Vanderbilt affiliated medical facilities, with the ability to also support non- Vanderbilt facilities.

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) plays a vital role in delivering specialized care and managing the health needs of patients in either inpatient, ambulatory, or a combination of both settings. With advanced training and expertise, the APP focuses on subspecialized care, including chronic illness and disease management, ensuring continuity of care throughout the patient’s healthcare journey, which may span multiple years. This role involves specialization in a specific organ system, where the APP provides expert consultation within their area of expertise as appropriate. The APP is integral to supporting patients across the continuum of care in both inpatient and outpatient specialty settings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes..
DEPARTMENT SUMMARY
We provide multidisciplinary, state of the art therapy that utilizes techniques such as stereotactic radiosurgery, intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), three dimensional treatment planning, brachytherapy, and intraoperative radiation therapy at five convenient locations. We are dedicated to improving treatment outcomes of all diseases treated with radiation and to finding new medical uses of radiation. Related to these goals is the education of graduate students, post-doctoral students and residents who will enter the field of radiation medicine including the allied field of Medical Physics.
Our team provides state-of-the-art anti-cancer therapy for patients through the use of new technology and continuous review of patient treatment outcome. We will continue to evaluate and improve the therapeutic effects of radiation from five fronts:
Basic science research to identify new biological modifiers and therapeutic targets.
Interaction with industry (pharmaceutical, imaging and radiotherapy) to validate the efficacy of new therapeutic tools
Medical physics research to improve the accuracy, precision and methods of radiotherapy delivery
Clinical research to study the benefits of new therapy treatments in patients

Supports both hospital and clinic services of Vanderbilt Health by focusing on inventory fulfillment.
Responsible for the acquisition, storage, and distribution of medications and their associated supplies to most Vanderbilt pharmacy and clinic areas.
Supplies inventory to 232+ automated dispensing cabinets, 143+ Anesthesia Workstations, 28 satellite pharmacies and 275+ clinics.
Responsible for a portion of bulk non-sterile compounding.
Utilizes Omnicell Central Pharmacy Manager and Omnicell carousels for inventory management.
The pharmacy setting is similar to a warehouse environment, and is located offsite, not at the main Vanderbilt campus.
Shift Details
Shift varies Monday - Friday (4:30am-1:00pm or 7:00am-3:30pm).
Rotate every other weekend with hours of 4:30am-1:00pm.
Rotate holidays (4 on and 4 off then swap next year).
