Job Description:

The MRI Technologist operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies. The MRI Technologist maintains knowledge and awareness high magnetic field strength safety. Job Description:

The Specialty Pharmacist provides high-touch pharmaceutical care to patients with chronic disease states and deals exclusively with medications and pharmaceuticals that are high in costs, require special handling, are subject to limited or restricted distribution, require ongoing assessment, treat rare disease, or require active monitoring of side effects. The Specialty Pharmacist has an increased focus on patient management, medication adherence, and actively collaborates with other members of the health care team. The Specialty Pharmacist supports URAC/ACHC Accreditation Standards and has the ability to utilize metrics in analyzing optimization of patient care and adherence rates. When applicable, the Specialty Pharmacist will participate in development of new programs, services, practices, and facilitate scholarly and professional development activities.

Responsibilities include

• Intake—Oversees the patient intake process by receiving referrals, screening patient demographic information, ensuring accurate benefits investigation and determination of payor coverage for specialty drugs, and exploring opportunities for patient financial assistance for qualified candidates.
• Clinical Management—Manages patient care by coordinating with an integrated team of health care providers, assessing clinical data, and optimizing therapy to ensure appropriateness and safety of medication use through evidence-based medicine principles. Promotes and monitors adherence and persistency.
• Fulfillment—Coordinates the processing, distribution, and delivery of referrals while maintaining product integrity, managing inventory of specialty medications, following up with patients to ensure that they received medications, and billing for services rendered.
• Outcomes—Defines, collects, integrates, analyzes, and reports data to promote and facilitate optimal treatment outcomes and evaluate the pharmacoeconomic impact of service offerings.

Supports specialty pharmacy services and specialty clinic processes

• Oversees day-to day operations in the pharmacy as they pertain to workflow, production quotas, deadlines and accuracy of prescription processing
• Ensures the pharmacy is compliant with all accreditation standards and local, state and federal rules and regulations regarding the practice of pharmacy
• Supports the Medication Access Coordinators to ensure accuracy of dispensing-related functions, adherence to delivery schedules, and utilization of safety programs

Position Summary and Purpose

The Pre-Access Specialist will coordinate patient orders received from physician offices and internal ancillary departments assuring appropriate distribution to the servicing department. Reviews 100% of all scheduled procedure orders for accuracy including physician signature, test/procedure to be performed, date and diagnosis, calls physician office to clarify order as needed, and indexes order to the account.

Coordinates patient encounter utilizing multiple system applications: various registration applications, clinical operating systems, eligibility verification systems, medical necessity applications, scanning repository.

•    Indexes orders accurately and review physician signature, test/procedure to be performed, date and diagnosis for accuracy

The Emergency Department Tech/Unit Coordinator provides clinical patient care support in a caring, safe, and efficient manner, under the direction of a RN.   The employee also performs other functions including clerical duties, admitting and discharging patients in multiple computer systems, phlebotomy, EKG lead placement, trauma care, and respiratory functions.

Essential Functions:

• Measures and documents intake and output, heights and weights, and vital signs
• Applies, monitors, and documents restraint usage
• Performs safety checks per standard on high risk patients
• Responsible for obtaining timed cardiac markers on patients with life threatening heart disease
• Verifies all patients are registered by an admission specialist before discharge, corrects any errors in systems
• Performs and documents patient mobility and exercise, and comfort, rest, and sleep care needs
• Performs and documents patient hygiene, grooming, and dressing, skin and nail care, dietary, and toileting and elimination needs
• Transports patients, lab work, specimens, and blood
• Organizes equipment and supplies; assembles equipment; cleans and disinfects equipment; maintains disinfectant solutions per infection control policies; communicates with bio medical engineering for equipment malfunctions

• Stocks trauma room in preparation for trauma patients
• Applies non-sterile hot/cold packs/compresses, bandages, elastic stockings, etc. and documents their usage
• Safely and correctly operates equipment (i.e. beds, wheelchairs, stretchers, hypo/hyperthermia unit, mechanical lifts, bed scales)
• Performs venipuncture for specimen collection under the direction of the RN; appropriately labels and ensures delivery to the Clinical Laboratory

• Ensures that the ordering, attending, referring, and primary care physicians are documented in the hospital computer system (SMS) correctly
• Provides care/support to patients with orthopedic injuries i.e. splint, crutch training and assists physician.
• Performs wound care irrigation
