Summary:
The Patient Financial Services Representative (PFSR) serves as the first point of contact in greeting patients and guarantors in the hospital, ambulatory or medical office setting. The PFSR engages with the patient or guarantor to obtain pertinent information and answer any questions in an effort to ensure that all required demographic, financial, and insurance eligibility information is gathered and verified. Ensures all required notices and consent forms are signed accordingly.
Responsibilities:
May schedule walk-in appointments for services offered.Collects patient out-of-pocket responsibility per collection guidelines. Provides patient estimates as requested. Prepares and balances a daily deposit of all payment collections.Provides exceptional customer service and ensures all questions and concerns are addressed in a timely and courteous manner. May guide the patient to appropriate destination for services.Obtains pre-certification and authorization.Verifies insurance benefits including obtaining insurance card(s) and confirms coverage is active. Determines correct insurance filing order, if multiple insurance coverages are effective for that service.Explains polices including all regulatory and financial consent forms; secures all required signatures.May perform patient discharge functions including, but not limited to, review of after visit summary (AVS), future appointment scheduling, and referrals.Interviews patients and guarantors at the workstation or bedside to obtain all necessary information, including a copy of the patient or guarantor identification card.May confirm physician and prescription orders ensuring accuracy.

One (1) year of related hospital, medical office, or customer service experience preferred. Other Information: In Memorial Physician Group (specialty practices), additional responsibilities include: (1) obtain specialty authorizations (2) authorization denial and peer to peer process (3) patient care navigation ex: surgical and procedural coordination and scheduling for patient specific populations (4) handle all incoming calls and physician and hospital back line (5) obtain and confirm referralsIn the Hospital, additional responsibilities include: (1) Upon validation of patient identity, place identification band on patient (2) obtain signatures for hospital specific regulatory forms not required in an ambulatory or office setting (3) obtain authorizations for walk-in appointments (4) determine when financial assistance is needed.In Memorial Primary Care, additional responsibilities include: (1) MIH-MPC program patient referral, payment collection and eligibility scheduling (2) process referral work-ques and same day access requests (3) work with Patient Access Center on real time patient requests (4) address prescription refill requests, patient advice requests through MyChart, and provider scheduling template.

Summary:
Works under the direct and immediate supervision of a pharmacist when performing duties associated with the practice of pharmacy. Pharmacy interns cross function as a Pharmacy Technician, as needed.
Responsibilities:
Assists with internal and external customer service needs.Provides healthcare providers and staff with education, drug information and needed training. Communicates with physicians and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate care. Provides patient counseling, takes telephone orders/prescriptions from providers, performs prescription transfers, compounds medications and administers immunizations if designated as an immunizer.Assists pharmacists and other healthcare providers in delivering patient care and services that are within the scope of practice for pharmacy interns.Manages and recommends drug therapy regimens as a part of an interdisciplinary team. Under pharmacist's supervision: reviews, interprets and evaluates medication orders/prescriptions, labs and other clinically relevant information to ensure safe and optimal therapeutic outcomes, and provides clinical pharmacy services which may include, but is not limited to: renal/hepatic dosage adjustment, pharmacokinetic dosing, anticoagulation monitoring, total parenteral nutrition, and antimicrobial stewardship, patient counseling, etc.Assists with development, organization, and implementation of process improvement and continuous quality and safety monitoring initiatives and outcomes. Independently executes and completes pharmacy projects or reports under the direction of pharmacy leadership.Cross functions in pharmacy technician roles as assigned. Prepares non-sterile and sterile compounded medications, including hazardous preparations when deemed competent. Prepares, fills, receives, delivers, stocks and restocks medication inventory and supplies for the pharmacy department and drug storage areas, manages work queues and completes medication histories.

4. Complete and document calorie counts accurately. Document summary of calorie counts within 24 hours of completion if results warrant nutritional recommendations.
5. Calculate and report results of nitrogen balance and metabolic cart studies accurately and in a timely manner.
6. Complete and document nutrition assessments on high-risk patients according to standards of care; including but not limited to: appropriateness of diet to diagnosis, adequacy of current tube feeding, infant formula, or parenteral nutrition orders; assessment of laboratory values, drug-nutrient interactions, medical history, current nutritional needs, nutrition education needs, care plan development and writing orders in the electronic medical record when nutrition intervention is needed for a patient.
7. The Registered and Licensed Dietitians (RD/LD) at WVUH have been granted Order Writing Privileges (with physician co-signature) which have been approved and established by the WVUH Medical Executive Committee and the WVUH Board of Directors.These privileges may be utilized whenever the physician orders the “MNT Protocol”.This allows the registered dietitian (RD/LD) to order Medical Nutrition Therapies within their scope of practice as defined by the American Dietetic Association and West Virginia Board of Licensed Dietitians (WBOLD).
8. The RD is considered qualified with current registration from the Commission on Dietetic Registration, current licensure through the WVBOLD, and clinical competency as verified initially and through the annual performance appraisal process. (See RD order writing privileges policy for specific guidelines.)
9. Complete and document follow-up to assessments and consults according to standards.
10. Attend local or national meetings/conferences specifically those that physicians request dietitian attendance or those meetings/conferences required to maintain accreditation of hospital programs or foster partnership with other facilities.
11. If applicable, provides guidance and supervise daily activities of nutritional therapy support team, i.e. difficult or unusual diet orders, tube feeding calculations, infant formula calculations. Document potential/actual errors or harmful interactions with patients or staff committed by NCA’s on assigned units where appropriate (i.e. personnel file, medical record, etc.)Provide intervention and participate in disciplinary actions as appropriate.
12. Work with Physicians, Nurse Managers and nursing staff on assigned units to improve medical nutrition therapy to the patient, including diet texture changes, providing appropriate foods/texture for aspiration risk (also work with speech pathologist), timing of medications to prevent drug-nutrient interactions, etc.
13. Act on any patient food complaints, provide alternative selections and/or arrangements. Follow-up with appropriate managers on food quality issues.
14. Review and update clinical rotation assignments annually to reflect changes in practice and feedback from previous interns, unless determined by student's university. Develop and teach classes regarding area of specialization to the interns (i.e. renal nutrition, oncology, nutrition support, etc.).
15. Monitor interns, making certain that they are functioning to standards before leaving unsupervised. Review and co-sign all intern documentation in the medical record. Correct assignments and evaluate progress within 2 weeks of the end of the rotation. Attend intern case study presentations, question interns, evaluate presentation.
16. As requested, develop and present in-services to other health care personnel, food service personnel, and students.
17. As requested, develop and present lectures to community groups.

Summary:

Responsible for case managing a team of hospice patients. RN case manager will collaborate with interdisciplinary team and attend weekly Interdisciplinary meetings. - Provides work direction to the clinical and support staff with responsibility for the coordination of resources to efficiently support procedures, day-to-day operations and the smooth flow of patients through the department.
- Provides support for direct patient care by performing the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic, and quality care through assessment of patients, establishment and implementation of the nursing care plan, and evaluation of clinical outcomes when necessary. Promotes an environment conducive to the delivery of safe, efficient and quality patient care, which may include performing patient rounding on a daily basis.
- Coordinates the needs of the patient care team by initiating service complaint follow-up when necessary and promoting communication among patients, families, hospital departments and medical staff to optimize the interdependence of team members.
- Acts as a resource to employees, which includes training/orienting, providing day-to-day work direction, and giving input on performance. Assigns, monitors, and reviews progress and accuracy of work, directs efforts and provides guidance on more complex issues in collaboration with the unit leadership.
- Assists with human resource responsibilities, which may include: interviewing and selection of new employees, resolution of employee concerns, and employee moral or other duties as assigned in collaboration with unit leadership.
- Monitors employee assignments and works on assignments for the unit. Evaluates staffing levels and makes adjustments as necessary to maintain productivity level established for assigned area(s).
- Monitors the quality of care provided. Assists in ensuring policies and procedures are followed in compliance with the medical center, the Nursing department, and regulatory and peer review agencies.
- Provides input to budget and ensures adequate supplies and equipment and inventory are available for both the delivery of safe patient care and a safe work environment.
- Works with management in developing new and existing programs and services.
- Works with vendors for requested products and coordinates in-services for equipment. Participates in product trials, and submits recommendations to management in collaboration with the unit Educator or CNS.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.

Education/Experience Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Health Related Field; or Associate Degree and enrolled in BSN program within 2 years of hire and complete BSN degree within 5 years Typically requires 3 years of experience in clinical nursing within an acute care setting.

Demonstrated ability to effectively make critical, independent decisions and the ability to think ahead, anticipate learning needs and take preventive actions. Excellent organization, prioritization and problem solving skills. Demonstrates time management skills with an ability to multi-task and prioritize with frequent interruptions. Skilled at coaching and developing employees to achieve the quality and service standards of the unit and medical center.
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices, and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months unless department leader has determined it is not required.

$44.15 - $66.25The Levine Children's Hospital Rehabilitation team at LCH 4P is a 13-bed pediatric inpatient unit dedicated to providing comprehensive physical rehabilitation for children from infancy to 18 years. Our multidisciplinary approach ensures 24-hour physician and nursing care, along with specialized therapies including physical, occupational, speech, and recreational therapy, as well as school support. Our nurses play a vital role in delivering holistic care, from daily living activities and medication administration to advanced procedures like tracheostomy and ventilator care, all while educating and supporting patients, families, and caregivers.
Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital (LCH) has taken the community to another level of service to provide care for the growing population of children in our region. At 259 beds, LCH is the largest children’s hospital between Atlanta and Washington DC. It serves high acuity patients as the flagship children’s hospital within the innovative Atrium Health and offers a full complement of over 125 pediatric subspecialists in over 30 different pediatric specialties. Job Description
Responsible for the direct provision of patient care and for assisting the manager with daily operations to include but not limited to coordination of patient care/outcomes, allocation of human and fiscal resources, communications, patient throughput, program development and oversight, patient, physician and employee rounding, selection, development, and retention of staff, clinical supervision and performance appraisal, performance improvement activities, service recovery and compliance with regulatory agency requirements. Maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the population of patients served.
Essential Functions
- Supports the manager utilizing systematic approaches to enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, nursing service administration and delivery of care in the department
- Assists with interview, selection, and supervision of nursing personnel in the department
- Assists with coordination of communication at regular intervals throughout shifts via staff meetings/huddles to exchange information/ promote dialogue with teammates
- Collaborates with manager to ensure understanding and compliance with federal and state laws, to include healthcare services and practice, while complying with all required regulations and policies
- Rounds on patients, teammates, and physicians at prescribed frequencies to gain insight into patient care, employee, and physician satisfaction and appropriateness of patient care and/or department operations
- Delegates elements of care to appropriate healthcare workers in accordance with applicable legal or policy parameters or principles
- Assists in identifying expected outcomes to provide direction for continuity of care/department operations
- Assists in evaluating progress towards goal attainment/achievement of expected outcomes and disseminates information to teammates involved with the care or the situation
- Performs nursing care, assists with treatments, therapies, procedures, and administers medications as necessary
- Coordinates management of patient flow/throughput and staffing through continuous assessment of volume/acuity needs, utilizing resources available to assist in provision of appropriate staffing resources
