We aspire to the Five Rights of Laboratory Testing: performing the right test on the right patient at the right time for the right indicators leading to the right diagnostic decision.
Summary:
The Assistant Supervisor is responsible for performing, evaluating, and reporting of technical laboratory procedures on patient specimens for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Follows established procedures to ensure laboratory quality control and compliance with professional standards of practice. The Assistant Supervisor may perform administrative and supervisory responsibilities of the laboratory section assuming additional technical or non-technical responsibilities as needed.
* 5 days/week. Weekends included
- Experience with a minimum of 5 years working in hospital lab in Hematology and Chemistry, highly preferred.
Responsibilities:
May perform method validations and ongoing method assessments.Effectively communicates with nursing and medical staff.Ensures staff compliance with regulatory, departmental and organizational policies, procedures and protocols.Assists or provides monitoring and coaching of team members and provides input in the evaluation of team members performance.Follows established procedures for laboratory quality control, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, compliance activities, and policies and procedures.Performs accurate and appropriate testing of specimens received in the laboratory, according to established laboratory protocol and procedures.May assess competency of team members.Assists the Supervisor and/or Manager with writing and reviewing of policies and procedures.Reviews and troubleshoots quality control and equipment issues.Observes and instructs student technologists and new or current employees.Effectively manages resources such as productivity, supplies, instruments and equipment. Plans work and completes job responsibilities in an efficient and productive manner.Reports test results in a timely manner according to established laboratory protocols.May provide supervision of a laboratory section.

Summary:
Serves as a member of the MHP Administrative team and assists with leading direction and strategic planning to achieve the organization's mission, directives, and goals. This position is responsible for the overall administration of assigned ancillary and support departments. The position also ensures the formulation and completion of departmental goals and objectives that are consistent with the overall institutional mission and vision and the Memorial Experience.
Responsibilities:
Ensures assigned ancillary and support MHP departments are efficiently and economically managed to provide high-quality healthcare services as measured by customer satisfaction levels, outcome measures, and accrediting regulatory agencies. Develops meaningful written departmental objectives and policies and achieves such objectives within the established timeframe. Departments operate in an interdisciplinary team fashion to provide patient-focused care.Participates in, and at times, leads system-wide task forces focused on clinical practice issues and solutions.Leads departmental financial planning to ensure cost-efficient operations and to maximize profitability.Monitors and evaluates operations to ensure compliance with established professional, regulatory, and organizational standards/requirements.Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide business processes, support the delivery of services, and ensure a culture of quality , safety, satisfaction and family centered care.Collaborates with administrative leadership to determine organizational priorities and goals. Researches and monitors industrial, professional and national developments. Integrates data from multiple sources to support decision making.Ensures hospital-wide and specifically department compliance with Joint Commission, Federal, State and local accrediting and regulatory agency standards. Demonstrates the ability to develop and maintain budgets or departments within 2-3% of projections and adjusted for volume or approved uncontrollable variances.Participates in the development and implementation of the Hospitals plan for providing ancillary and support services to all patient populations served. Participates in Safety, Quality and Service initiatives. Assists in assuring that MHPs plan is consistent with Hospital District goals and objectives, mission and vision. Ensures mechanism to initiate appropriate organizational change and measure effectiveness of changes as related to Hospital District goals and objectives.

Summary:

Essential Functions
- Evaluates patients, selects and administers assessment techniques, synthesizes information to establish appropriate patient care plan to include necessary modalities, procedures, exercise programs, therapeutic groups and patient education as warranted by a holistic view of the patient's diagnosis, condition, age, and discharge needs.

- Establishes functional goals in conjunction with the patient and provides evidenced based intervention to work towards meeting these goals with ongoing assessment to adjust the plan of care as needed .

Position Purpose:
Provides patient focused customer service within the Emergency Department. Performs outpatient & / or inpatient registration & insurance verification functions; collects patient financial liability payments & ensures that patients meet financial requirements including Medicare medical necessity, payer pre-certifications & referrals. Provides general information to hospital users, patients, families, and physician offices.

Minimum Qualifications:

Help Facilitate Internal Aurora Transfers telephonically
Help Facilitate Non-Aurora Transfers telephonically, assessing documentation, MD triage, taking and entering orders
Will perform Tele Intake (telephonic or Video) assessments for patients in the ER that have a Behavioral Health Consult. Triage with appropriate on Call MD, along with taking and entering orders.
Take Triage calls telephonically for patients looking for inpatient to see if medical clearance is needed prior to the patient arriving to the hospital for an assessment.
On occasion preforming assessments for outpatient programs and triaging that assessment with the MD for recommended level of are and scheduling the patient for program

- Provides direct therapy services to patients admitted to a level of care where service provision is required 7 days a week, including holidays.
- Evaluates patients, selects and administers assessment techniques, synthesizes information to establish appropriate patient care plan to include necessary modalities, procedures, exercise programs, therapeutic groups and patient education as warranted by a holistic view of the patient's diagnosis, condition, age, and discharge needs.
- Gathers and interprets appropriate data from the medical record, physician reports, patient, and/or family as evidenced by documentation.
- Documents evaluations, tests, progress notes, daily treatment notes, attendance records, patient/family education, outcomes, discharge notes, and charges as needed.

Minimum Job Requirements
Education
Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
Certification / Registration / License
- Basic Life Support (BLS). Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required based on specialty.
- Active registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where the RN is providing client nursing services

7. Turn and position bedfast patient every 2 hours and as needed. Assist patients with bowel and/or bladder functions. Assist patients in Bladder maintenance and bladder or bowel retraining programs.
8. Answer call bells promptly per policy /Procedure.
9. Assist with the care of the dying patient. Provide postmortem care per Policy/Procedure.
10. Provide perineal and indwelling catheter care on your shift and as necessary per Policy/Procedure.
11. Assist patients with (ADL) activities of daily living skills with and without adaptive equipment as per instructions of therapist or nurse.
12. Serve food trays per standard. Assist with feeding as indicated. Record food and fluid intake. Assist patients with identifying food arrangements with sight problem of foods or his/her tray.
13. Serve between meal and bedtime snacks.
14. Assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting patients into and out of bed, chairs, bath, wheelchairs, etc. utilizing proper body mechanics.
15. Report all allegations of patient abuse and/or misappropriation of patient property as per federal requirements and per policy/procedure.
16. Report all accidents and incidents you observe on the shift that they occur per Policy/Procedure.
17. Assists patient with specialized feeding techniques as per recommendations of the speech therapist in accordance with policy and procedure.
18. Assist with ambulation, gait training and CPM administration as instructed by the physical therapist.
19. Apply orthopedic devices such as AF orthosis, abduction braces, hinge joint immobilizer per instruction of the physical therapist.
20. Use safety equipment and supplies (mechanical lifts, steady’s, etc.) when lifting or moving patients who requires more than one person assistance.

$20.80 - $31.20Major Responsibilities:- Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner, collects insurance co-payments, and responds to routine requests for information.
- Schedules and maintains calendar of appointments, meetings, and travel. Coordinates related administrative aspects such as agendas, site selection, food/beverage selections, audio-visual arrangements, and document preparation.
- Schedules patients and enters information into the computer system. Coordinates patient appointments with other areas or physician offices as needed.
- Answers and screens telephone calls, triages clinical calls and resolves problems appropriately.
- Assembles, copies, and releases patient medical records. Works with Medical Records Department regarding requests for notes/additional information.
- Generates basic reports, modifies/updates existing reports, and distributes reports as needed.
- Opens, sorts, and distributes mail and department documents efficiently. Operates and maintains office equipment (fax, printer, photocopier, etc.) and may order office supplies.
- Completes referrals, tracks, and follows up on need for re-authorizations, processes patient registration, and obtains required information.
- May process billing/reimbursement forms and other department records. Maintains logs and reports; performs simple calculations as needed. Assists with gathering, organizing, and compiling data for reports, meetings, etc.

Pay Range:
$41.10 - $61.65Major Responsibilities:- Acts as a resource to employees and students, which includes training/orienting, providing day-to-day work direction, and giving input on performance. Assigns, monitors, and reviews progress and accuracy of work, monitors productivity, maintains appropriate staffing levels, directs efforts and provides guidance on more complex issues.
- Assists with human resource responsibilities, which may include interviewing and selection of new employees, staff development, providing performance feedback, resolution of employee concerns, and employee morale. Assists in interpreting department policies and procedures, and advises and updates staff on procedural changes.
- Performs advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures such as M-mode, 2-D, Doppler and Color Flow Doppler utilizing a variety of equipment and techniques and makes the necessary measurements required for the interpretation to obtain accurate, high quality results (for example, muscle wall thickness, diameter of chambers, volume of chambers, valve areas, blood flow velocity and direction). May assist physicians in the Catheterization and Electrophysiology Labs by performing echocardiograph studies to aid them in proceeding with complex procedures to decrease risk factors.
- Identifies and defines cardiac abnormalities and extends the scope of the examination appropriately, deviating from standard techniques when necessary and correlating invasive and noninvasive cardiac diagnostic test results with cardiac anatomy and function.
- Prepares patients for procedures and obtains clinical history from the patient including cardiac related physical findings and pertinent laboratory data in order to adapt the imaging techniques to obtain comprehensive and diagnostic echocardiograms to alleviate the probability of erroneous clinical interpretation of the echocardiogram.
- Assists in performing transesophageal studies with cardiologist, calculating appropriate measurements and sterilizes probe.
- Records statistics and performs daily maintenance of the Echocardiography Lab and its equipment, reporting all malfunctions as appropriate.
- In conjunction with supervisor, implements protocols as new technology evolves, and ensures system echocardiography standards are implemented and adhered to.
- Identifies performance improvement opportunities within the department and facilitates change. Works closely with medical director to develop and ensure quality processes and protocols are adhered to; works with physicians to perform quarterly reviews, and assists with ICAEL accreditation ensuring all policies, quality processes, reporting, etc. meet standards.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS-AE) registration with Adult Echo issued by the ARDMS, or
- Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) registration issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), and
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months unless department leader has determined it is not required.
Education Required:
- Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Sonography.
Experience Required:
- Typically requires 5 years of experience in cardiovascular sonography which includes experience in digital quantification.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Demonstrated leadership skills such as delegation, team building, managing multiple priorities, problem solving, and decision making.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and patient service skills to work effectively with physicians, patients and other staff members.
- Advanced knowledge and ability to learn and apply complex sonographic principles, instrumentation and techniques, and new computer techniques for the capture, display and analysis of echocardiograph data.
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency in cardiovascular sonography procedures such as transesophageal and congenital.
- Advanced knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
- Intermediate computer skills.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

- Must be able to sit a 50 percent of the workday and stand and walk 20 percent.
