The Ambulatory and Outpatient Clinical Nurse Supervisor, provides direct supervision to selected clinical areas and assists the practice in delivering health care to patient’s consistent with the practice’s policies and procedures.

You will oversee and support staff in providing and coordinating comprehensive care through the nursing process, promoting safe, therapeutic outcomes in alignment with established standards, policies, and procedures.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
- Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
- Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
- Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.
- Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.
- May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
- Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
- Physical Abilities Testing may be required.

$38.20 - $57.30Join our 32-bed medical surgical unit at Atrium Health Cleveland. We care for a plethora of medical and surgical diagnoses and provide all the peritoneal dialysis for our facility. The unit is the stroke accredited and age friendly unit for the facility. We collaborate with providers across the spectrum of disciplines (hospitalists, neurology, nephrology, pulmonology, cardiologists, intensivists, surgeons, orthopedics, and wound care) to ensure best practice and access in providing high quality, compassionate care. We partner with the Virtual Nursing Program, who assist in providing the most technologically advanced care to our patients.
Major Responsibilities:
- Engages in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices.
- Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families through the continuum of care.
- Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to influence care outcomes.
- Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.
- Continuously evaluates patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking action as needed.
- May administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to clinical protocols and procedures.
- Demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution, fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation.
- Pursues professional development, completes required education, and maintains certifications.
- Adhere to the ANA Code of Ethics and practices ethical decision-making, respects interdisciplinary roles, and contributes to integrated, unbiased patient care.
- Appropriate delegation to other Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and unlicensed assistive personnel (i.e., nurse aides, credentialed medical assistants, etc.).
- Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
- May be required to float to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area to meet patient care needs.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Minimum Job Requirements
Education
Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
Certification / Registration / License
- Basic Life Support (BLS). Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required based on specialty.
- Active registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where the RN is providing client nursing services

Experience
Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provides support to speech language pathologists and audiologists through collection of data, assisting with researching topics, transportation of patients or other patient care support services.

May orient new staff to departmental and VUMC documentation standards. Will complete accurate chart audits of co-workers’ documentation.

Join Vanderbilt Health's Pediatric Audiology team in an entry-level healthcare support role focused on helping children and families during hearing evaluations.
As a Pediatric Audiology Assistant, you'll work directly with Audiologists to assist with patient visits, prepare testing areas, support hearing evaluations, and help create a positive experience for children and their families. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to make a difference in healthcare without pursuing a licensed clinical position.

Assist Audiologists during pediatric hearing evaluations
Help prepare patients and families for appointments and testing procedures
Escort patients to and from treatment areas
Support children during hearing assessments and testing activities
Set up and organize testing rooms and equipment
Clean and maintain equipment and clinical spaces according to department standards
Assist with stocking supplies and preparing rooms for patient visits
Support daily clinic operations and patient flow

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provides support to speech language pathologists and audiologists through collection of data, assisting with researching topics, transportation of patients or other patient care support services.
• Assists in safe provision of functional activities (leading hand washing, toileting/diaper changing, snack activities for pediatrics).
• Provides support to speech language pathologists and teachers of the deaf and hard of hearing for implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities.
• Maintains supplies at acceptable levels.
• Prepares treatment areas (set up group therapy rooms based on number of patients served and focus of therapy, set up individual therapy/assessment rooms based upon age and/or diagnosis, clean up/reorganize treatment rooms at the conclusion of service).
• Provides basic screening services (Prepare infant or child for hearing screening, performs hearing screening and communicates results to family).

Under the supervision of a RN, the Monitor Technician monitors, recognizes, and interprets cardiac rhythms while identifying deviations in patients' baseline, and changes in SP02. Position Purpose
The Operative NP/PA for General Robotics and Ortho Surgery provides health care services under the direction of collaborating surgeons in the Department of Surgery under the direction of the Advanced Practice Professional team (APP). Under the direction of the surgeon and APP team the NP/PA is responsible for coordinating the health care plan for the assigned patient population by collaborating with consulting physicians and health care professionals. The NP/PA carries out physician orders and maintains the continuum of care through the coordination and integration of all phases of patient care, guided by progress notes, consults, care plans, critical pathways, managed care guidelines, best practice protocols, evidenced based care, and the utilization review processes. In partnership with the supervising physician the NP/PA evaluates care based on quality and core measures, access and cost effectiveness. The NP/PA contributes to excellence in patient care by focusing on age specific, developmental and spiritual needs and serving as a role model in patient care, consulting, teaching, and leadership.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
NP Education:
Master’s Degree in clinical nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program with emphasis on area of certification/licensure.
NP Licensure:

PA Education:
Requires graduation from an ARC-PA accredited PA program.
PA Licensure:
Current License/Certification as Physician Assistant with the State of Michigan.
Experience:

Operative assisting, including first and second assisting, opening and closing of incisions as indicated. Transport and initial care of the operative patient in the recovery room with completion of initial orders and brief operative note. Completion of daily hospital work rounds including pre and post operations and charting of progress notes as required or as assigned. Dictation of discharge summaries, chart rounds, staffing conference summaries and consults as directed by service needs. Participation in the care of off-service patients as indicated by consulting (supervising) physician request. Orders appropriate diagnostic and laboratory data under the direction of the supervising physician and communicates results to physicians and other health care providers. Assesses changes in patient status and institutes routine and emergency interventions to stabilize patients under the direction of the supervising physician and APP team. Documents plan of care and patient progress in medical records and narrative summaries. Evaluates and documents patient outcomes and revises the plan under the direction of collaborating physicians in association with other specialty consultants. Helps facilitates discharge planning along with patients, families, other members of the health care team and referral agencies.

POSITION PURPOSE
The Vascular Surgery NP/PA Surgery provides health care services under the direction of collaborating surgeons in the Department of Surgery under the direction of the Advanced Practice Professional team (APP). Under the direction of the surgeon and the Director of APPs, the NP/PA is responsible for coordinating the health care plan for the assigned patient population by collaborating with consulting physicians and health care professionals. The NP/PA carries out physician orders and maintains the continuum of care through the coordination and integration of all phases of patient care, guided by progress notes, consults, care plans, critical pathways, managed care guidelines, best practice protocols, evidenced based care, and the utilization review processes. In partnership with the supervising physician, the NP/PA evaluates care based on quality and core measures, access and cost effectiveness. The NP/PA contributes to excellence in patient care by focusing on age specific, developmental and spiritual needs and serving as a role model in patient care, consulting, teaching, and leadership.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical care for Vascular Surgery patients:
- Formulate and implement medical plans of care for acute management of all Surgery (inpatient, emergency department, and consult) patients with collaborating physicians.
- Assist with evaluation and triage of emergency room patients.
- Provide direct clinical services for surgical patients according to established protocols, using evidence-based practice and clinical practice standards, under the supervision of the collaborating physicians.
- Patient work-up, including history and physical examination with ordering of appropriate laboratory tests, x-ray studies and other diagnostic studies as indicated.
- Completion of daily hospital work rounds including pre and post operations and charting of progress notes as required or as assigned.
- Completion of discharge summaries, chart rounds, staffing conference summaries and consults as directed by service needs.
- Participation in the care of off-service patients as indicated by supervising physician request.
- Order appropriate diagnostic and laboratory data under the direction of the supervising physician and communicate results to physicians and other health care providers.
- Assess changes in patient status and institutes routine and emergency interventions to stabilize patients under the direction of the supervising physician and APP team.
- Document plan of care and patient progress in medical records and narrative summaries.
- Evaluate and document patient outcomes and revises the plan under the direction of collaborating physicians in association with other specialty consultants.
- Help facilitate discharge planning along with patients, families, other members of the health care team and referral agencies.
Collaborative role with other disciplines:
- Act as the daily central liaison to all health care team members for patient care concerns
- Coordinate speech, physical and occupational therapies
- Participate in patient care conferences and peer quality review with collaborating physician, consulting medical teams, and other health care disciplines
Education Focus:
- Explain the purpose, preparation and potential effects of the procedure to patient and families
- Provide pre-operative teaching and discharge planning to patients and families.
- Design, instruct, and review information and programs pertinent to the inpatient and outpatient surgical population.

NP Licensure:
Current certification by a nationally accredited professional nursing organization such as American Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Successfully pass the certification exam from accredited certifying organization approved by the Michigan Board of Nursing relative to the CNP's designated specialty. Acceptable certifications: Acute Care Adult Gerontology Acute Care and Adult NP. Alternate certifications prior to January 2019 may be accepted or approved if currently practicing at a Trinity Health facility or if there is adequate clinical experience in subspecialty area.
PA Education:
Requires graduation from an ARC-PA accredited PA program.
PA Licensure:

Summary:
The Patient Financial Services Representative (PFSR) serves as the first point of contact in greeting patients and guarantors in the hospital, ambulatory or medical office setting. The PFSR engages with the patient or guarantor to obtain pertinent information and answer any questions in an effort to ensure that all required demographic, financial, and insurance eligibility information is gathered and verified. Ensures all required notices and consent forms are signed accordingly.
Responsibilities:
May schedule walk-in appointments for services offered.Verifies insurance benefits including obtaining insurance card(s) and confirms coverage is active. Determines correct insurance filing order, if multiple insurance coverages are effective for that service.Collects patient out-of-pocket responsibility per collection guidelines. Provides patient estimates as requested. Prepares and balances a daily deposit of all payment collections.Explains polices including all regulatory and financial consent forms; secures all required signatures.May perform patient discharge functions including, but not limited to, review of after visit summary (AVS), future appointment scheduling, and referrals.Interviews patients and guarantors at the workstation or bedside to obtain all necessary information, including a copy of the patient or guarantor identification card.Provides exceptional customer service and ensures all questions and concerns are addressed in a timely and courteous manner. May guide the patient to appropriate destination for services.May confirm physician and prescription orders ensuring accuracy.Obtains pre-certification and authorization.

- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team regarding clinically complex patients. Partner with Social Work and unlicensed support personnel to effectively establish and implement a safe plan of care. Serves as a leader of the multidisciplinary rounds and work closely with clinical team members, hospital departments and ancillary services to identify and resolve barriers to discharge, expedite care delivery to avoid delays in timely service provision, and implement and report on care coordination and discharge planning.
- As an expert in care management of clinically complex patients, collaborate and lead discussions with managers, physicians, medical directors, advisory groups, and treatment teams for issues related to physician practices and best practices for the patient care plans. - Develop and maintain productive relationships with community-based agencies, particularly those serving clinically complex patients. Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

- Care Manager Certified (CMC) certification issued by the National Academy of Certified Care Managers (NACCM) needs to be obtained within 2 years, or

We’re Looking For:
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, twisting, and lifting throughout the workday. Must safely lift up to 35 pounds and perform patient handling tasks, including pushing/pulling up to 30 pounds and assisting with 150-pound sliding transfers. Requires functional speech, vision, hearing, touch, and fine motor skills for clinical procedures, as well as the ability to operate equipment foot controls. Must be able to respond quickly to changing patient conditions and perform patient safety interventions, including verbal de-escalation and restraints when necessary. Exposure to blood, body fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, and hazardous waste may occur; appropriate protective equipment must be used. Where You Will Work:
3CD is a 23 bed post-op surgical unit with 15 beds for Tele Patients. 75% of patients are admitted from PACU or as stepdown from Surgical ICU. This is a fast-paced, high acuity surgical unit specializing in Gastroenterology, Urology, Gynecology, and Plastic Surgery populations. This is a great unit for experienced Med-Surg nurses seeking to advance their skills and grow in their practice. It is also a great foundational unit for new graduate nurses who seek to eventually develop into more advanced clinical settings, such as ICU, ED, OR, and NP. We are a strong performing inpatient unit as measured by their Nurse Sensitive Indicators and Patient Experience scores. 3CD team members are committed to excellent clinical practice and patient outcomes. Shared Governance is an essential part of the culture on the unit, where nurses and nursing assistants have a strong voice in the daily operations. 3CD received top tier team member engagement scores in 2021.

Major Responsibilities:
- Evaluates, diagnoses, treats, and manages acute, critical and chronic patients illness and diseases within both an outpatient clinic and inpatient/OR hospital setting.
- Obtains medical histories, conducts physical examinations and assesses and determines differential diagnosis. Prescribes medication, therapy and treatments accordingly.
- Interprets and evaluates patient data for the purpose of determining management and treatment of patients. Performs minor surgeries and routine procedures. Consults with physician as appropriate. Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic studies in the field of clinical specialty trained and determined competent by a physician.
- Adjusts patient care plan by reviewing and monitoring treatments and therapy plans. Counsels, instructs and educates patients on physical and mental health including: diet, preventive health measures, health behaviors, self-care skills, disease, treatment options, and normal growth and development.
- Provides care coordination, which includes managing a variety of ancillary services, pre-operative plans, discharge planning, provider referrals and medical devices such as insulin pumps, defibrillators, and pacemakers.
- Prescribes, recommends and regulates pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies across multiple care settings, including controlled medications that are warranted by patient's diagnosis or changing medical condition.
- Prepares, dictates and signs patient care plans and summaries of patient care. Maintains records according to established standards and guidelines.
- Provides clinical direction to nursing staff regarding the continued care of patients. Follows through with nursing staff to ensure patient receives recommended care.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.
Licenses & Certifications
- Physician Assistant license issued by the state in which the caregiver practices.
- Physician Assistant (PA-C) certification issued by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the caregiver practices, and
- Nurse Practitioner (ANCC) certification issued by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), or
- Nurse Practitioner (AANP) certification issued by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), and
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration issued by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration, and
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA). May obtain within 6 months based on department discretion.
Degrees
- Bachelor's Degree in Physician Assistant.
- Master's Degree in Nursing
Required Functional Experience
- Must be acute care trained as an APRN.
