- Strategic Planning and Leadership: Participating in strategic planning for the medical center and assisting in matters related to the Medical Staff and Clinical Care Delivery Systems. This involves representing Medical Staff interests to Management and serving as a liaison between the two.
- Medical Staff Coordination and Support: Coordinating and providing staffing for Medical Staff committee activities, serving as a resource, and providing appropriate leadership and guidance. This includes collaborating closely with the Medical Staff President, other elected Medical Staff officers, department, and committee chairperson.
- Value-Based Care: Championing value-based care by participating in the development and execution of value-based care strategies, monitoring and influencing risk contract performance, and fostering an environment conducive to value-based care.
- Physician Recruitment and Development: Overseeing physician productivity and practice efficiency, guiding the implementation of enhancements, and ensuring the efficacy of the local physician recruitment process.
- Administrative Functions: Coordinating administrative functions for medical staff, including employment agreements, regulatory compliance, care management initiatives, physician performance reviews, peer review, privileging, and credentialing.
- Performance Improvement and Quality Management Directing a medical center-wide Performance Improvement Program, establishing standards of performance, monitoring mechanisms, and outcomes tracking for appropriate medical center departments and the Medical Staff. This also involves guiding and directing the activities of the medical center's Performance Improvement Teams.
- Capacity Management: Providing leadership for capacity management initiatives to improve patient flow and support optimal patient care.
- Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management: Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and managing risk through quality improvement and infection control plans.
- Human Resources Management: Responsibilities related to human resources, including interviewing, selecting new employees, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale.
- Community and Physician Relationships: Developing relationships with medical centers and community physicians to support strategic initiatives and fostering a close, mutually beneficial relationship between the Medical Staff and the medical center.
- Budget Management: Developing and recommending operating and capital budgets and controlling expenditures within approved budget objectives
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Medicine and/or Surgery, MD-DO license issued by the state in which the team member practice
Education Required:
- Doctorate Degree in Medicine

- Clinical Experience: Typically, the role requires 10 years of experience in a clinical field as a practicing physician1234.

- Outcomes Measurement and Quality Improvement: Dynamic knowledge of outcomes measurement, clinical quality, and utilization. Experience with and commitment to continuous performance and quality improvement methodology.
- Physician Relationships and Collaboration: Demonstrated success in developing positive physician relationships and collaborations with internal and external partners.
- Strategic Planning and Implementation: Advanced knowledge of and skills in developing, planning, and implementing long-term strategies and plans.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to successfully interact with physicians and employees at all levels throughout the organization and within the community.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite or Comparable Products. Advanced knowledge of computer applications and database management in a clinical setting.
- Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution: Excellent skills in problem-solving, conflict resolution, negotiation, and diplomacy.

- Engages in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices.
- Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families through the continuum of care.
- Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to influence care outcomes.
- Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.
- Continuously evaluates patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking action as needed.

Minimum Job Requirements
Education
Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
Certification / Registration / License
- Basic Life Support (BLS). Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required based on specialty.
- Active registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where the RN is providing client nursing services

• Provides and documents assessment of strength, range of motion, balance and coordination, posture, muscle performance, and motor function.

• Rehabilitation Therapist Patient Evaluation (Novice): Demonstrates proficiency in evaluating patients with physical deficits including impairments, developmental disabilities, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function by obtaining information pertinent to the assessment and administering and scoring standardized tests and objective measures of deficit areas. Selects appropriate measures and performs a functional assessment to document patient's status requiring skilled therapy. Interprets the results of the assessment and their significance to the patient, family, referring physician and other members of the health care team.
• Treatment Implementation (Novice): Demonstrates proficiency in providing treatment consistent with physician prescription and established plan of care. Able to modify treatment plan as needed to demonstrate provision of skilled therapy services including progression of treatment throughout course of care, and revision of treatment interventions of goals not met. May supervise and direct certified athletic trainers (PT only), physical therapist / occupational therapist assistants, technicians and volunteers and students. Selects and follows correct protocol for care and utilize evidence based treatments. Has completed at least one year of clinical experience in treatment implementation.
• Treatment Planning & Goal Setting (Novice): Demonstrates sufficient proficiency in developing a plan of care that incorporates treatment interventions focused on meeting objective goals. Develops and documents patient focused short and long term goals that are functional and measurable. Identifies the need for and referral to other services, as needed.
• Physical/Occupational Therapist Patient Education (Novice): Demonstrates proficiency in communicating functional impact of assessment findings, treatment interventions, treatment planning diagnosis, and disease process. Considers the communication needs/level of understanding of audience and may share appropriate information/literature. May supervise, educate and train students from professional programs of physical therapy, occupational therapy and athletic training.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

CICU 8S 24-bed high acuity unit on the 8th floor of the Garden Tower of Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. CICU cares for critically ill cardiac/interventional cardiac patients, including diagnoses of acute MI, cardiogenic shock, dysrhythmias, multisystem organ failure, pre-heart transplant, complex pre and post stent, valvuloplasty, TAVR, as well complex medical patients.
