Assistspatient in preparation for exam,provides basic instruction to patientsregardingroutine procedures, transports patients between exam rooms/departments and escorts patients, families, and visitors if department needsrequire.
Usesradiology computer systems to generate requisitions, check schedules, and obtain pertinent patient informationas needed.
Organizes and prepares exam rooms and work areas, including cleaning, stocking, ordering supplies, andmaintainingequipment, based on departmentneed.
Greets patients and visitors and responds to routine requests for information,reportsor film loans. Promptly answers telephone,screenscalls, schedules patient appointments, and takes messages, if department needsrequire.
Acts as a liaison between ordering physician, radiologist, and technologist.
Provides radiology reports and/or radiographic images to staff, physicians,patientsand/or family upon request. Files, retrieves, and releases health information records and films. Compiles film jackets/discs and completes required forms/documentation.
Documents requested information and promptlycommunicatesobservations, concerns, and needs of the patient with physicians and other members of the health care team.
Completes routine maintenance and quality monitoring of imaging equipment using appropriatetechniquewhen cleaning,sterilizingand caring for instruments and other equipment, based on departmentneed.
Assistswith the screening and documentation of MRI implants based on departmentneed.
Must be able todemonstrateknowledge and skills necessary to provide careappropriate tothe age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)requiredupon hire unless department leader has determined it is notrequired.
Education Required:
Must be currently enrolled in a Radiologic Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program accredited by an agency recognized by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) and,
Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or
High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED), or
High School Graduate.
Experience Required:
None required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Competent in IV insertion and venipuncture, based on departmentneed.
Excellent communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of patients,staffand physicians.
Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
Intermediate computer skills including experience in using computer applications/systems and electronic mail.
Must be able to follow directions and work well both independently and with technologists, physicians, and patients.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Must sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist and reach above the shoulders throughout the workday.
Must be able to:
lift upto 50 lbs. from floor to waist.
lift upto 20 lbs. over the head.
carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
Must be able to:
push/pull with 30 lbs. of force.
perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with the ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for procedures or other functions.
May be exposed to the following hazards on a frequent basis: mechanical, radiation, and electrical as well as blood and body fluids; therefore, protective clothing must bewornas necessary.
Operatesall equipment necessary to perform the job.

As part of a multidisciplinary cardiology team, Exercise Physiologists work closely with physicians, nurses, and rehabilitation specialists to deliver individualized exercise prescription, patient education, risk factor modification, and ongoing monitoring, helping patients safely improve cardiovascular health, functional capacity, and quality of life.
This position supports four Cardiac Rehab locations across the Charlotte, NC region: Cabarrus, Kenilworth, Pineville and Union.
Job Summary
Performs and coordinates a variety of diagnostic procedures with the Cardiology service line.
Essential Functions
·Coordinates and performs exercise and/or pharmacological stress testing following the standards and guidelines of the ACSM/AHA/ACC and the current policies and procedures of Diagnostic Cardiology.
· Assess the patient for contraindications to cardiac stress testing by reviewing the latest H&P, lab results, and previous cardiac testing. Coordinates care with the ordering provider or Cardiologist.
· Explains the procedure, verifies the order, and confirms patient identity
· Assists with transferring patients on/off equipment and provides assistance with adaptive positioning to maximize safety and performance.
· Recognizes electrocardiographic changes and arrythmias pre-test, during testing, and post-test to ensure diagnostic information is obtained in a safe and controlled environment.
· Communicates abnormal results to the physician, clinical staff, operations manager or nurse manager.
· Responds to emergency situations in a professional and prompt manner.
· In coordination with related staff may also cross train.
Physical Requirements
Hearing (corrected) adequate for oral/aural communication with patients, staff, family, visitors, etc. Vision (corrected) adequate for reading. Intelligible speech and adequate language/cognitive skills to perform job duties. Must be able to push patients in a wheelchair or stretcher. Lifting of patients, equipment or supplies will be required up to 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally. Able to laterally transfer patients 100 pounds rarely. Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology required, Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology preferred.
Exercise Physiologist certified by the American College of Sports Medicine or eligible to test for the same.
ACSM-CEP (Clinical Exercise Physiologist) is preferred, required for stress testing.
Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) from AHA is required.
ACLS required within 6 months of hire date. Experience in stress testing preferred.
One year of related experience preferred. Additional certifications may be required by the department.
If performing stress tests, successful completion of the exercise physiology competencies including the use of pharmacological stress testing agents required.

Summary:
Under the general direction of the Chief Therapist, the Radiation Therapist I contributes to the organizational plan of the Radiation Oncology Unit, to the quality of patient care and supports the institutional philosophy. The Radiation Therapist I is technically competent at the entry level and interacts with other areas of the department. It is expected that the Radiation Therapist I will meet all initial performance competency standards for this position within one year. The Radiation Therapist I applies ionizing radiation to the patient, as instructed and prescribed by the physician according to departmental standards, state guidelines, and Memorial Healthcare System’s policy and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Prepares room and equipment properly for each treatment. Performs imaging (CBCT, KV, MV, Active Motion Management) as ordered, to position patient. Analyzes results, identifies issues and takes appropriate action including repositioning patient and repeating procedure to deliver therapy according to treatment plan. Assists special procedure treatments (e.g., HDR, TBI) and completes treatment documentation.Participates in scheduled rotations in all department equipment, serves as on call therapist, and as needed, rotates between both Radiation Oncology departments.Performs appropriate quality control warm-up procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and reports equipment malfunctions to chain of command.Collaborates with Physicians, Physicists, Dosimetrist, Chief Radiation Therapist in simulation or clinical setup process. Presents set up questions and solutions while utilizing Crew Resource Management Principles and Practices. Observes all established radiation safety measures (ALARA).Manages patient documentation in Aria for team communication, charge capture and billing reconciliation. Prepares the treatment record information for setup and treatment. Accurately performs weekly chart checks and QA audits at end of treatment through Encounters in Aria EMR. Accurately captures and reviews charges for treatment and simulation procedures.Performs CT-Sim procedures and documents accurately. Executes simulations in accordance with department policies and procedures. Prepares room and equipment properly for each simulation and monitors patient.Manages patient scheduling in a technical area including simulations, field verifications, daily treatments, and cone-downs to avoid delays and or interruptions.Serves as resource/educator to radiation therapy students and/or new hires by role modeling professional behaviors, instructing, assessing, and evaluating. - Transports patients between departments and escorts patients, families, and visitors as needed.
- Uses radiology computer systems to generate requisitions, check schedules, and obtain pertinent patient information.
- Assists patient in preparation for exam and transferring patients to and from exam rooms. Provides basic instruction to patients regarding routine procedures, i.e. changing clothes, position for exams, etc.
- Organizes and prepares exam rooms and work areas, including cleaning, stocking, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment.
- Greets patients and visitors and responds to routine requests for information, reports or film loans. Promptly answers telephone, screens calls, schedules patient appointments, and takes messages.
- Acts as a liaison between ordering physician, radiologist, and technologist.
- Provides radiology reports and/or radiographic images to staff, physicians, patients and/or family upon request. Files, retrieves, and releases health information records and films. Compiles film jackets/discs and completes required forms/documentation.
- Documents requested information and promptly communicates observations, concerns, and needs of the patient with physicians and other members of the health care team.
- Completes routine maintenance and quality monitoring of imaging equipment using appropriate technique when cleaning, sterilizing and caring for instruments and other equipment.
- Assists with the screening and documentation of MRI implants based on department need.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) required upon hire unless department leader has determined it is not required.

Essential Functions
- Provides direct therapy services to patients admitted to a level of care where service provision is required 7 days a week, including holidays.

3. Document NPO/Clear Liquid notes by day five; follow-up until nutrition provided (unless contraindicated).
4. Complete and document calorie counts accurately. Document summary of calorie counts within 24 hours of completion if results warrant nutritional recommendations.
5. Calculate and report results of nitrogen balance and metabolic cart studies accurately and in a timely manner.
6. Complete and document nutrition assessments on high-risk patients according to standards of care; including but not limited to: appropriateness of diet to diagnosis, adequacy of current tube feeding, infant formula, or parenteral nutrition orders; assessment of laboratory values, drug-nutrient interactions, medical history, current nutritional needs, nutrition education needs, care plan development and writing orders in the electronic medical record when nutrition intervention is needed for a patient.
7. The Registered and Licensed Dietitians (RD/LD) at WVUH have been granted Order Writing Privileges (with physician co-signature) which have been approved and established by the WVUH Medical Executive Committee and the WVUH Board of Directors.These privileges may be utilized whenever the physician orders the “MNT Protocol”.This allows the registered dietitian (RD/LD) to order Medical Nutrition Therapies within their scope of practice as defined by the American Dietetic Association and West Virginia Board of Licensed Dietitians (WBOLD).
8. The RD is considered qualified with current registration from the Commission on Dietetic Registration, current licensure through the WVBOLD, and clinical competency as verified initially and through the annual performance appraisal process. (See RD order writing privileges policy for specific guidelines.)
9. Complete and document follow-up to assessments and consults according to standards.
10. Attend local or national meetings/conferences specifically those that physicians request dietitian attendance or those meetings/conferences required to maintain accreditation of hospital programs or foster partnership with other facilities.
11. If applicable, provides guidance and supervise daily activities of nutritional therapy support team, i.e. difficult or unusual diet orders, tube feeding calculations, infant formula calculations. Document potential/actual errors or harmful interactions with patients or staff committed by NCA’s on assigned units where appropriate (i.e. personnel file, medical record, etc.)Provide intervention and participate in disciplinary actions as appropriate.
12. Work with Physicians, Nurse Managers and nursing staff on assigned units to improve medical nutrition therapy to the patient, including diet texture changes, providing appropriate foods/texture for aspiration risk (also work with speech pathologist), timing of medications to prevent drug-nutrient interactions, etc.
13. Act on any patient food complaints, provide alternative selections and/or arrangements. Follow-up with appropriate managers on food quality issues.
14. Review and update clinical rotation assignments annually to reflect changes in practice and feedback from previous interns, unless determined by student's university. Develop and teach classes regarding area of specialization to the interns (i.e. renal nutrition, oncology, nutrition support, etc.).
15. Monitor interns, making certain that they are functioning to standards before leaving unsupervised. Review and co-sign all intern documentation in the medical record. Correct assignments and evaluate progress within 2 weeks of the end of the rotation. Attend intern case study presentations, question interns, evaluate presentation.
16. As requested, develop and present in-services to other health care personnel, food service personnel, and students.
17. As requested, develop and present lectures to community groups.

Summary:

Observes all established radiation safety measures (ALARA).Performs appropriate quality control warm-up procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and reports equipment malfunctions to chain of command.Serves as resource to radiation therapy students by role modeling professional behaviors, instructing, assessing, and evaluating. Minimum Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the State of Maryland
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program.
- At least one year of clinical experience (home care experience preferred).

- Responsible for performing all job duties in a way that conforms to our customer service philosophy and consistent with our "AIDET" standards
- 1)Greet and Acknowledge all patients and family members in a welcoming and prompt manner.
- 2)Introduce the patient to our services, what they can expect while under our care. Utilize appropriate etiquette in all communications.
- 3)Provide the patient with information on the likely time spent in the service area (duration) including time in registration and time in clinical service.
- 4)Explain the nature of our work, why we ask for demographic, socio-economic, and financial information. Explain how we safeguard their information and use it to provide better care for them.
- 5)Hand-patients off to the next area with a clear "thank you."
- When creating new registrations for walk-in patients, responsible for the identifying insurance coverage, the benefits available, patient out-of-pocket expenses, and collecting co-insurance and co-payments.
- 4)Collecting appropriate out of pocket expenses in accordance with policy.
- 1)Uses electronic systems to confirm coverage while patient is present and discussing the findings with the patient. Follow established department policies to resolve issues related to patient's eligibility for coverage or issues in in-network status for the patient using Advocate's network.
- 2)When working uninsured patients, screen for urgent status cases and follow charity procedure. Refer as appropriate for additional financial counseling. Engage leaders to resolve questions on urgent versus non-urgent/elective care.
- 3)When assisting walk-in patients, screen orders for compliance with policy. Work with physicians, Care Coordinators, and clinical department leaders to communicate and resolve issues related to order quality and acceptable standards.
- Responsible for security authorization and precertification of inpatient and outpatient services.
- 5)Notify Financial Counseling, physicians, Care Coordinators, and Utilization Management on cases were patients are found to be uninsured, or where the only insurance is Third Party Liability or Workers Compensation
- 1)Maintains knowledge of all stand-alone computer software programs to verify eligibility.
- 6)Identify at risk balances related to Medicare co-days, lifetime reserve days and other Medicare coverage limits and communicate to Financial Counseling, UM and physicians
- 7)Identify at risk balances relate to Medicaid eligibility rules and communicate to Financial Counseling, UM and physicians
- 8)Initiates communication to patient when authorization is not obtained and explain the potential financial impact and the patient responsibility for unauthorized services
- 9)Accurately collects and analyzes clinical data in support of prior authorization, and precertification as required by payor guidelines
- 10)Acquires and maintains current knowledge of all insurance requirements as it relates to patient/hospital responsibility and hospital billing.
- 2)Stays current of all Federal and State regulations regarding billing.
- 3)Ensures completion of all established policies and procedures for identification and notification of the Primary Care Physician in the case of HMO coverage plans.

- 2)Pre-registers and registers patients using established procedures for computer entry for all ancillary and nursing units, keeping current with their specialized needs and preparing necessary documents/records when necessary.
- 3)During the pre-registration or registration encounter, provide detailed education to the patient the contents of documents and forms requiring patient signature.
