* Evaluate and treat infants, children, and adolescents with feeding, swallowing, speech, and communication disorders

*What We're Looking For*
*Required*
* Current Montana Speech-Language Pathologist license or ability to obtain prior to hire
* Experience treating pediatric patients from infancy through adolescence
* Current HS AED CPR or BLS HCP certification, or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire
*Preferred*
* ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
* Minimum of two (2) years pediatric outpatient experience following completion of CFY
* Experience with pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders
* Experience performing or interpreting Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS)

As a UCP Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you will not only treat children with cerebral palsy, but also help children with autism, sensory processing disorder, genetic disorders, in-utero substance exposure, pediatric feeding disorders, developmental delays and many other diagnoses that affect the ability of a child to live life without limits. SLPs with a specialty in Feeding or AAC will have opportunity to work within multiple service models. You will develop treatment plans to help children with childhood apraxia of speech, speech sound disorders, fluency disorders, receptive disorders, resonance disorders and diagnosis specific speech disorders. You will evaluate language development and determine the best course of treatment. Your support team will help you obtain barium swallow and hearing test results as well as medical documentation needed for a comprehensive assessment. You assess children’s needs quarterly and adjust the plan of care accordingly. You keep detailed documentation regarding billing, insurance, evaluations, progress, treatment, and discharge. Each week you meet with the team at a Team Meeting. You develop personalized home activities to empower families and help parents make informed decisions about care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Perform speech-language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing evaluations per physician referral and establish individualized plans of care
* Conduct bedside swallow evaluations and assist with instrumental swallow studies (e.g., MBS/FEES) as clinically indicated
* Provide direct patient treatment, including speech/language therapy, cognitive-communication retraining, and dysphagia management
* Document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries in the EMR in compliance with Title 22, Joint Commission, and payer documentation standards
* Communicate and coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, occupational and physical therapy, case management, and dietary services

*What Am I Going to Do?*
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of pediatric patients to evaluate speech and language disorders. Caseloads typically consist of kiddos with phonological disorders, fluency disorders, expressive and receptive language delays, CAS, articulation disorders, and pragmatic disorders, with some occasional dysarthria and feeding!
* Develop and implement family-centered and neurodiversity-affirming plans of care.
* Provide evidence-based intervention to achieve therapeutic progress.
* Collaborate with families, therapy team, medical team, and educational team as needed to support patient development.
* Complete necessary documentation in EMR system with adherence to all federal, state, and facility deadlines.
* Stay updated on the latest research and techniques in speech-language pathology and participate in ongoing professional development.
*What Qualifications Do I Need?*
* Completion of Master’s or Doctorate degree in Communication Sciences or a related field from an accredited institution.
* Active license (in good standing) to practice as an SLP in the state of Virginia. CFs welcome!
* Strong communication and client advocacy skills.

Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements
* Graduate of an accredited program in speech therapy (minimum MS or MA SLP)
* ASHA certified (CCCs) OR must be eligible for 9 month Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) in order to earn ASHA certification (CCCs) and/or meeting ASHA credentialing criteria. Once achieved, must maintain ASHA credentialing.
* Currently registered/licensed in applicable State. Must maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment.
* One (1) year experience in post acute care or related setting preferred
* CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment.
Specific Job Requirements
* Participates in community health matters/projects as appropriate
* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and e mail
* Liaisons with patients, families, support departments, etc., to adequately plan for patient needs
* Demonstrate good body mechanics at all times
* Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
