Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited or state approved school of practical nursing
- Current licensure in the State of Michigan

$38.20 - $57.30We are a hospital-based clinic. We provide care to all different oncology diagnoses, benign hematology, and some off-service patients. We administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, IV fluids, iron, and also address urgent issues. It is a high paced environment, and we pride ourselves in working as a team.
Major Responsibilities:
- Engages in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices.Â
- Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families through the continuum of care.Â
- Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to influence care outcomes.Â
- Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.Â
- Continuously evaluates patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking action as needed.Â
- May administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to clinical protocols and procedures.Â
- Demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution, fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation.Â
- Pursues professional development, completes required education, and maintains certifications.Â
- Adhere to the ANA Code of Ethics and practices ethical decision-making, respects interdisciplinary roles, and contributes to integrated, unbiased patient care.Â
- Appropriate delegation to other Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and unlicensed assistive personnel (i.e., nurse aides, credentialed medical assistants, etc.).Â
- Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.Â
- May be required to float to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area to meet patient care needs.Â
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.Â
Minimum Job Requirements Education:
- Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.Â
Certification / Registration / License:
- Basic Life Support (BLS). Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required based on specialty.Â
- Active registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where the RN is providing client nursing servicesÂ
Note: Licensed nurses practicing via telehealth/telenursing/virtual modalities are required to be licensed or hold the privilege to practice in the state(s) where the client(s) is/are located. Licensed nurses are responsible and accountable for knowing, understanding, and practicing in compliance with the laws, rules, regulations, and standards of practice of the state(s) where the client(s) is/are located.Â
Experience:
- Typically requires 2 years of experience in clinical nursing.Â

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Â

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.Â
- Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.Â
- Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.Â
- Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.Â
- Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.Â
- Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.Â
- May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.Â
- Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.Â
- Physical Abilities Testing may be required.Â
- Additional department specific physical requirements may be identified for unique responsibilities within the department by the nurse leader.Â

This dynamic team operates under a 24/7 staffing model that integrates Intensivists and APPs to provide expert care for high-acuity patients. Our CVTU manages complex cases and patient populations including:
- Cardiogenic shock
- Advanced Heart Failure
- LVAD
- Heart Transplant
- Pulmonary Hypertension
- Post-Cardiac Arrest
- Post-Cath Lab Patients
You will have the opportunity to be privileged in procedures such as arterial line, central line, dialysis catheter, and pulmonary artery catheter insertions and manage mechanical circulatory support devices such as IABPs and Impellas.

- Must be able to pick up 2 12-hour shifts per month over Days, Nights, Weekends and Holidays

Advocate Christ Medical Center is seeking full-time Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to work in their CVTU, which is a 24-bed medical cardiac ICU. This dynamic team operates under a 24/7 staffing model that integrates Intensivists and APPs to provide expert care for high-acuity patients. Our CVTU manages complex cases and patient populations including:
- Cardiogenic shock
- Advanced Heart Failure
- LVAD
- Heart Transplant
- Pulmonary Hypertension
- Post-Cardiac Arrest
- Post-Cath Lab Patients
You will have the opportunity to be privileged in procedures such as arterial line, central line, dialysis catheter, and pulmonary artery catheter insertions and manage mechanical circulatory support devices such as IABPs and Impellas.
Schedule & Coverage:
- 3–12-hour shifts per week over Days, Nights, Weekends and Holidays
Staffing Model
- Day Shift: 1 Attending Physician + 4 APPs
- APPs are responsible for a fourth of the patient census, or ~6 patients
- Night Shift: 1 Attending + 2 APPs
- APPs are responsible for half of the patient census, or ~13 patients

$38.20 - $57.304th Surgery Med Surg Unit is a 45-bed unit that specializes in the safe delivery of comprehensive preoperative and post-operative care as well as adult and geriatric medical care.  Â
Major Responsibilities:
- Engages in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices.
- Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families through the continuum of care.
- Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to influence care outcomes.
- Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.
- Continuously evaluates patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking action as needed.
- May administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to clinical protocols and procedures.
- Demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution, fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation.
- Pursues professional development, completes required education, and maintains certifications.

- Uses facility/provider information and established policies and procedures to seamlessly link the patient experience between PACT and the practice site. Â
- Uses resources and critical thinking skills to assist inbound callers. Makes outbound calls when required or when follow up is deemed necessary. Â
- Has the ability to recognize complex problems and questions and escalates for resolution when needed. Performs basic technical troubleshooting in connection to online applications, systems, or access as requested to resolve issues.Â
- Responsibilities include scheduling patient appointments and coordinating cancellations, reschedules, and additions to schedules. Obtains demographic and insurance information and verifies insurance coverage. Ensures insurance and patient information obtained is complete and accurate, updating information if necessary, applying acquired knowledge of government and third-party payer requirements. Â
- Completes all essential forms, obtains necessary information, such as patient demographic and insurance information. Verifies and updates the medical record with patient information. Â
- Identifies emergent calls based on information provided by caller and department procedures. Follows the process for immediate transfer to Registered Nurse for triaging. Responsible for competency in and adherence to guidelines for emergency situations and critical call handling. Â
- Determines the needs of patients calling the call center which results in routing patients for triage, scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling appointments, submitting medication refill requests for evaluation, and paging providers and facilities as appropriate. Â
- Provides customer service per established departmental standards as measured by patients on post call survey. Asks clarifying questions, presents options or solutions, and understands the level of complexity of the call, escalating only those situations necessary for resolution. Â
- Assists with organizational marketing efforts by providing associated information and referral to customer, while maintaining appropriate records for documentation. Conducts regular reporting and updating of the provider and marketing databases. Â
- Performs additional duties based on department needs. Â
- Maintains knowledge and efficient utilization of all information systems utilized by the department. Â
