The Resource Registered Nurse position for Charlotte's Pediatric Resource Team requires floating to these facilities: LCH, Cabarrus, University, Pineville, and Union.
Pay Range:
$50.00 - $50.00Major Responsibilities:
- Engages in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices.
- Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families through the continuum of care.
- Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to influence care outcomes.
- Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.
- Continuously evaluates patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking action as needed.
- May administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to clinical protocols and procedures.
- Demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution, fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation.
- Pursues professional development, completes required education, and maintains certifications.
- Adhere to the ANA Code of Ethics and practices ethical decision-making, respects interdisciplinary roles, and contributes to integrated, unbiased patient care.
- Appropriate delegation to other Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and unlicensed assistive personnel (i.e., nurse aides, credentialed medical assistants, etc.).
- Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
- May be required to float to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area to meet patient care needs.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards
Minimum Job Requirements
Education
Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
Certification / Registration / License
- Basic Life Support (BLS). Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required based on specialty.
- Active registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where the RN is providing client nursing services
Note: Licensed nurses practicing via telehealth/telenursing/virtual modalities are required to be licensed or hold the privilege to practice in the state(s) where the client(s) is/are located. Licensed nurses are responsible and accountable for knowing, understanding, and practicing in compliance with the laws, rules, regulations, and standards of practice of the state(s) where the client(s) is/are located.
Experience
Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing. Two years service line specific RN experience preferred.

- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in operating computer functions (e.g., E-mail, electronic records, digital platforms etc.) clinical, aviation, maintenance, communications, and administrative departments.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
- Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
- Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
- Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.
- Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.
- May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
- Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
- Physical Abilities Testing may be required.
- Additional department specific physical requirements may be identified for unique responsibilities within the department by the nurse leader.

Help Patients Access the Rehabilitation Care They Need
Vanderbilt Clarksville Hospital is seeking an Admissions Coordinator to support our inpatient rehabilitation services. This role serves as a key liaison between referring providers, patients, families, case managers, and the rehabilitation team to facilitate timely and appropriate admissions into rehabilitation services.
The Admissions Coordinator evaluates referrals, gathers clinical and insurance information, coordinates the admission process, and helps ensure patients are transitioned efficiently into the appropriate level of rehabilitative care. This position plays an important role in optimizing patient access, supporting care coordination, and contributing to positive patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate patient referrals for rehabilitation services.
- Coordinate admissions and patient transitions in collaboration with physicians, care managers, therapists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Verify patient demographics, insurance eligibility, benefits, authorizations, and required documentation.
- Communicate with patients and families regarding the admission process, expectations, available services, and next steps.
- Facilitate timely collection of medical records, clinical information, and supporting documentation.
- Initiate and maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Assist with care coordination activities to promote efficient patient throughput and successful admissions.
- Monitor admission workflows and help identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, privacy requirements, safety practices, and organizational policies.

- Provides customer service per established departmental standards as measured by patients on post call survey. Asks clarifying questions, presents options or solutions, and understands the level of complexity of the call, escalating only those situations necessary for resolution.
- Assists with organizational marketing efforts by providing associated information and referral to customer, while maintaining appropriate records for documentation. Conducts regular reporting and updating of the provider and marketing databases.

RNs in Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby/Antepartum at BMH & BBC Specific: The Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification through PQF or NCC is required within 6 months of completing intermediate fetal monitoring
Current driver's license in the state of Michigan and proof of insurance required for BAH

For Bronson Lakeview Hospital and Bronson South Haven Hospital:
The RN is responsible for completing the Workday CBL –“Swing beds”. This is an annual CBL that describes the difference in a swing bed patient versus an in-patient or observation patient. The RN will understand the documentation differences and the specific care required for each individual swing bed patient.
Bronson South Haven Hospital and Bronson Lakeview Hospital employees who are approved to work in a Swing Bed Facility only: Employees may be expected to cover shifts at Bronson Lakeview Hospital and/or Bronson South Haven Hospital depending on patient acuity and staffing needs.
Virtual Registered Nurse (VRN) Role: The virtual registered nurse leverages technology to deliver patient care remotely, collaborating with bedside staff and the broader care team to ensure quality outcomes and timely discharge. Core responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Conducting admission screening, patient/family education, discharge planning, and medication dual acknowledgments via secure digital platforms.
- Completing diagnostic testing questionnaires and supporting patient safety initiatives.
- Mentoring and supporting nursing staff and facilitating patient progression toward discharge using electronic health record (EHR) tools such as checklists and clinical pathways.
- Analyzing assessment data to identify patient problems, confirming issues with patients/families as appropriate, and documenting individualized care plans in collaboration with bedside RNs.
- Systematically evaluating the quality and effectiveness of virtual nursing services, ensuring compliance with professional standards and organizational policies.

- Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and documenting/updating pertinent health information (i.e. chief complaint, allergies, medications).
- Performs laboratory procedures (i.e. strep test, wound culture, specimen collection, etc.) using principles of aseptic technique and standard precautions / infection control guidelines.
- Assists the physician/provider with procedures and surgeries such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy, etc.
- Administers medications, under physician/provider orders, including: immunizations, antibiotics, pain medications, vitamins, topical agents, and insulin. With limitations, initiates, maintains and discontinues IV therapy; administering selected fluids with pre-mixed medications.
- Provides basic patient education on the performance of tasks, skills, treatment and self-care. Follows through with necessary procedure or test requests, prescription refills, new appointment times and referrals to other facilities or services. Refers questions to registered nurses and physicians/providers per scope of practice guidelines and relays information back to patient as directed.
- Communicates with physicians and other members of the health care team. Documents and communicates accurate and timely information regarding patient conditions.
- Performs advanced clinical tasks or skills such as removal of sutures and staples, catheterization, audiograms, laboratory procedures (throat/nose culture, drug screen, phlebotomy - butterfly, venous access, heel stick), EKG, spirometry, Holter monitor application, casting, complex wound care, etc., with demonstrated competency and under clinical supervision.
- Organizes and prepares exam rooms, lab and work areas including: cleaning, stocking, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment. Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
- Completes routine maintenance and quality monitoring of clinic equipment using appropriate technique when cleaning, sterilizing and caring for instruments and other equipment.
- Participates in patient centered initiatives, care management, performance and quality improvement activities.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. - Provides expert consultation, leadership, and oversight to all market area sites related to stroke program operations including Stroke Center certifications, quality of care management, and peer review. Proactively address internal and external environment to ensure highest quality of stroke care is being provided at all market area sites.
- Responsible for directing the operations of stroke center(s) including integrating operational and clinical management, providing a full continuum of stroke care. Develop service strategies to achieve and maintain national benchmarks and best practices for stroke patients.
- Maintains and promotes effective relationships with and between each stroke center. Acts as a liaison between stroke coordinators and administrative and medical leadership. Facilitates and coordinates local stroke committees.
- Oversee the Comprehensive/Primary Stroke Center certification in collaboration with the Director, Stroke Quality staff, and Stroke Program Medical Director. This includes oversight of submission of applications, reports, action plans and coordination of onsite certification visits.
- Ensures current clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) are incorporated into the care of the acute stroke patient. Partners with the Stroke Program Medical Director, nursing leadership and other hospital leaders to incorporate CPGs into refinement of acute stroke response algorithms, review of order sets, care plans and policy/procedures. Establishes annual stroke program goals, in collaboration with the Stroke Program Medical Director and the Core Stroke Committee. This includes development, implementation, and evaluation of strategies to achieve the annual goals.
- Co-chairs site-based stroke committees with key stroke team members. Supports and ensures committees complete all assignments. Coordinates and facilitates quarterly site stroke steering committees. Participates and supports system stroke Practice and System Stroke Education committees. Acts as a liaison between the stat/stroke responders, ED personnel, Inpatient units, stroke NPs, Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute clinic and hospital- based stroke program.
- Collaborates with Stroke Program Medical Director and Stroke Quality team to establish the quality improvement plans. Oversee improvements in stroke quality outcomes/measures. Reports quality data to the Quality and Safety Council annually. Analyzes stroke data and facilitates corrective action. This includes reviewing and revising tools used for rounding, concurrent review and tracers.
- Provides input, direction and expertise in the development, application, and evaluation of orientation and continuing education programs. Coaches staff to assist in identification of their goals to advance practice and career advancement. Develop a plan with employees for achievement of identified goals. Assists personnel in areas where deficits are identified. Assists personnel in identification of areas of growth.
- Coordinates/manages all resources necessary to optimally provide care. This includes the availability of staff resources, patient educational supplies, and stroke office supplies. Responsible for effectively managing resources through systems management, carefully coordinating system issues to assure optimal patient care. Facilitates research-based nursing by creating an environment that encourages the utilization of research in practice; uses research in decision-making to maintain quality, cost and customer service; and assures the integration of research in congruence with departmental, organizational, regional and system strategic goals.
- Provides expert clinical advice to the multidisciplinary team in designing collaborative teaching plans/programs and in planning/providing patient/family education and discharge planning including wellness and health maintenance within designated specialty. Coordinates community and EMS educational offerings per regulatory guidelines and community needs.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices, and
- Certified Stroke Registered Nurse (SCRN) certification issued by the American Board of Neuroscience Nurses (ABNN) needs to be obtained within 2 years, and
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).

$33.05 - $49.60Major Responsibilities:- Competently operates CT equipment to perform basic and intermediate diagnostic procedures. Procedures include basic imaging processing, body, head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, contrast, orthopedic and extremity.
- Obtains medical history from patients and compares requisitions to physicians' orders to ensure exam accuracy.
- Positions patient and selects proper scanning factors, adjusts factors to attain the appropriate images, and provides radiation protection and safety in accordance with regulatory agencies.
- Prepares and administers contrast media under the direction of the Radiologist, and assists in the proper scanning techniques. Provides measurements and additional slices for accurate interpretation with direction from the Radiologist.
- Post-processes images as directed and accurately identifies and labels images identifying patient name, medical record unit (MRU) number, and location or position of scan on all images.
- Prepares and maintains records in accordance with various regulatory agencies and enters patient and study information into the radiology information system, and documents billing codes of procedures performed to ensure accurate patient charges.
- Identifies equipment performance issues and performs equipment quality assurance tests and calibration procedures. Reports malfunctioning equipment to appropriate staff and evaluates new products and equipment.
- Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Selects appropriate measures and performs a functional assessment to document patient's status requiring skilled therapy. - Treatment Implementation (Novice): Demonstrates proficiency in providing treatment consistent with physician prescription and established plan of care. Able to modify treatment plan as needed to demonstrate provision of skilled therapy services including progression of treatment throughout course of care, and revision of treatment interventions of goals not met. May supervise and direct certified athletic trainers (PT only), physical therapist / occupational therapist assistants, technicians and volunteers and students. Selects and follows correct protocol for care and utilize evidence based treatments. Has completed at least one year of clinical experience in treatment implementation.
