Pay Range:
$21.85 - $32.80Patient-centered Family Medicine practice providing comprehensive care to patients of all ages, from newborns through adulthood.
Major Responsibilities:
- Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and gathering/documenting/updating pertinent health information (i.e., chief complaint, allergies, and/or medications). Monitors and completes Clinical Integration/ Quality Improvement measures with notification to clinician for opportunities within their scope.
- Performs laboratory procedures (i.e., strep test, wound culture, specimen collection, etc.) using principles of aseptic technique and standard precautions/infection control guidelines.
- Assists the Physician/ Advanced Practice Professional (APP) with procedures such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy, etc.
- Administers routine medications, under Physician/ APP orders or medical group approved standing orders/protocols, which may include but are not limited to immunizations, antibiotics, vitamins, and topical agents.
- Follows through with necessary procedure or test requests, pre-approved care algorithms, new appointment times and referrals to other facilities or services. Refers questions to Registered Nurses and Physician/APC per scope of practice guidelines and relays information back to patient as directed.
- Communicates with Physician/APP and other members of the health care team to ensure smooth clinic flow and adjusts as necessary. Effectively communicates accurate and timely information with the patient.
- May perform basic and advanced clinical support tasks or skills based on the specialty and appropriate competencies such as but not limited to removal of sutures and staples, laboratory procedures (throat/nose culture, drug screen), phlebotomy - butterfly, venous heel stick, EKG, spirometry, Holter monitor application, prescription refills using approved protocols, etc., under clinical supervision.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) required
Current Medical Assistant certification from one of the following is required:
- CMA from American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- CCMA from National Health career Association (NHA)
- NCMA from National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- RMA from American Medical Technologists (AMT).
- RMA from American Allied Health
- NCMSMA from National Healthcare Worker’s Association (NHCWA)

- Ability to perform routine and complex technical skills, within the Medical Assistant scope of practice after demonstrated competency.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to develop rapport and maintain positive, professional relationships with a variety of patients, team members and physicians.
- Proficient computer skills including keyboarding, navigation within a windows operating system, and use of electronic mail with exposure to electronic medical records systems.
- Demonstrates customer service skills that support a positive patient experience.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Must sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other team member, when available.
- Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a Case by -case basis.
- Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine-hand manipulation skills.
- Will be exposed to the following hazards on a frequent basis: mechanical, electrical, chemical, blood and body fluids. Will be required to wear protective clothing and equipment as needed.
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.

POSITION PURPOSE
Provides Planned Maintenance (PM), safety testing, repairs, calibration, installation, routine and emergency service to general and various specialized diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment, as assigned by the Clinical Engineering (CE) Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Knows, understands, incorporates and demonstrates the mission, vision and core values of Trinity Health and the Ministry Organization in leadership behaviors, practices and decisions.
Performs PM procedures on multiple types of general and specialized clinical equipment.
Performs PM procedures using manufacturer’s recommendations, standards or code requirements, as well as industry acceptable processes as guidelines.
Performs corrective maintenance procedures including diagnosing problems using thermodynamic, electronic/electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or other sciences and documents results of activities performed to comply with all regulatory and standard requirements.
Notifies equipment users, CE Managers, and Regional Director of repair status and delays as necessary.
Interacts with clinical staff to understand and resolve operational problems in scheduling and completing PM procedures while minimizing interference to hospital departments.
Determines need for replacement parts and supplies, selects the most cost effective source, and submits properly completed parts request using established policies and guidelines.
Completes corrective and planned maintenance work order documentation per policy.
Promotes teamwork by keeping others informed, participating effectively in group decision making, works to accomplish team objectives and projects, and solicits feedback about one's effectiveness as a team member.
Continually improves processes by seeking ways to eliminate and reduce waste.
Has authority (based on department guidelines) to order parts and supplies required for emergency service or repair of medical equipment. Recommends test equipment and spare equipment parts to the CE Manager or Lead Technician.
Provides on-call service coverage after normal business hours on a rotating basis, as assigned.
Provides assistance and training to Bio-Medical Equipment Technician I as assigned by Clinical Engineering Management.
May be assigned duties as Lead Bio-Medical Equipment Technician, as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned or requested by the CE Manager.
Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws/regulations; the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of an Associates of Applied Sciences Degree in related field of medical electronics, electronic technology or equivalent military or related training required. CBET certification preferred.
Three to five years experience or equivalent, performing corrective and planned maintenance on medical devices and/or clinical support equipment.
Must have a basic understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
Working knowledge and ability to use basic hand tools and test equipment specific to the field. Ability to train CE associates on use and application of select test equipment.
Must have knowledge and understanding of OSHA, NFPA, The Joint Commission, CAHO, EOC, FDA and other specific regulations and standards pertaining to clinical equipment service and repair.

SUMMARY:
The Rehabilitation Aide reports directly to the Clinical Manager/Assistant Clinical Manager/ and performs duties under the supervision of the Rehabilitation professionals. The Rehabilitation Aide assists clinicians in providing treatments designed to relieve pain and maximize functions of patients across the Brown University Health. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Principal Duties:
Once deemed competent, and in accordance with the established treatment plan, the rehabilitation aide:
- Assists therapists and assistants in patient care as requested
- Carries out patient intervention per therapist or assistant direction, including positioning, mobilizing, and exercising patient
The supervising Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech-Language Pathologist or Audiologist will be present on the premises and immediately available to the Rehabilitation Aide when providing treatment. A Physical Therapist Assistant or Occupational Therapy Assistant may also provide supervision, but must be on the premises, in line of sight, and immediately available.
Additional Duties:
- Maintains gym and all treatment areas to Environment of Care (EOC) standards.
- Assists with EOC safety rounds
- Enters work orders as applicable to gym and treatment areas
- Maintains cleanliness of department equipment per infection control policies and equipment guidelines
- Maintains equipment logs
- Ensures that rehabilitation equipment, including but not limited to: wheelchairs, walkers and crutches, are clean and functional
- Cleans and prepares treatment areas between patient use
- Maintains and inventories therapeutic supplies, equipment, linen, and housekeeping supplies
- Transports patients to and from treatment areas, exercising care in the handling of patients
- May assist with scheduling, order entry, charge reconciliation, and scanning into Electronic Health Record
- Communicates in person or by fax/phone with patients, providers, healthcare team members, referral sources, and payers
- Assists with departmental statistics and quality assurance, program evaluation and environmental and infection control activities
- Participates in meetings as required

BASIC KNOWLEDGE:

Internal Medicine Asheboro is located on Rock Crusher Rd in Asheboro. This is a very busy office with 3 full-time providers.
Major Responsibilities:
- Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and gathering/documenting/updating pertinent health information (i.e., chief complaint, allergies, and/or medications). Monitors and completes Clinical Integration/ Quality Improvement measures with notification to clinician for opportunities within their scope.
- Performs laboratory procedures (i.e., strep test, wound culture, specimen collection, etc.) using principles of aseptic technique and standard precautions/infection control guidelines.
- Assists the Physician/ Advanced Practice Professional (APP) with procedures such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy, etc.
- Administers routine medications, under Physician/ APP orders or medical group approved standing orders/protocols, which may include but are not limited to immunizations, antibiotics, vitamins, and topical agents.
- Follows through with necessary procedure or test requests, pre-approved care algorithms, new appointment times and referrals to other facilities or services. Refers questions to Registered Nurses and Physician/APC per scope of practice guidelines and relays information back to patient as directed.
- Communicates with Physician/APP and other members of the health care team to ensure smooth clinic flow and adjusts as necessary. Effectively communicates accurate and timely information with the patient.
- May perform basic and advanced clinical support tasks or skills based on the specialty and appropriate competencies such as but not limited to removal of sutures and staples, laboratory procedures (throat/nose culture, drug screen), phlebotomy - butterfly, venous heel stick, EKG, spirometry, Holter monitor application, prescription refills using approved protocols, etc., under clinical supervision.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. About the Role
As a member of our pediatric rehabilitation team, you will:
- Provide occupational therapy evaluations and treatment for infants, children, and adolescents in an outpatient setting.

- Support the needs of children participating in the Mama Lere Hearing School programs.

4CD is a 26 bed Medical/Telemetry unit comprised of both private and semi-private patient rooms. Most patients are admitted by the Emergency Department, making it a great learning experience for new graduates. You will care for a very diverse population with multiple acute and chronic illnesses including COPD, CHF, chest pain, diabetes, wounds, cellulitis, stroke, pneumonia, and minor surgical patients (appendectomy, cholecystectomy, etc).

- Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and documenting/updating pertinent health information (i.e. chief complaint, allergies, medications).

- Completes routine maintenance and quality monitoring of clinic equipment using appropriate technique when cleaning, sterilizing and caring for instruments and other equipment.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
