Monday/Wednesday/Friday HOURS: 7:45am-4:15pm on-site position. No weekends or holidays. Oncology background is preferred. This role will support the oncology infusion and radiation oncology clinics at this site.
Pay Range:
$24.10 - $36.15Major Responsibilities:
Financial Assessment and Counseling
- Conduct comprehensive financial evaluations for oncology patients referred by providers, nurse navigators, financial counselors, social workers, and other members of the care team.
- Assess insurance coverage, financial hardship, and potential barriers to treatment adherence.
- Educate patients and families regarding insurance benefits, deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, out-of-pocket maximums, and estimated treatment costs.
- Provide individualized financial counseling to assist patients in making informed treatment decisions.
- Review and explain medical bills, insurance statements, and Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).
- Assist patients with establishing payment plans and identifying available financial resources.
Insurance Navigation and Coverage Support
- Verify and review insurance benefits related to oncology services, infusion therapy, radiation oncology, imaging, laboratory testing, specialty medications, and supportive care services.
- Identify gaps in coverage and collaborate with patients and payors to prevent treatment delays.
- Assist uninsured and underinsured patients in exploring available coverage options, including Medicaid, Medicare, Marketplace plans, charity care, and other programs.
- Collaborate with prior authorization and revenue cycle teams to address insurance-related barriers affecting treatment initiation and continuation.
- Support patients with insurance appeals and documentation when appropriate.

on-site position responsible for telephone triage and electronic inbox management.
Financial Assistance Program Management
- Research, identify, and secure financial assistance resources for eligible patients.
- Assist patients with applications for pharmaceutical manufacturer assistance programs, copay assistance programs, foundation grants, and charity resources.
- Coordinate access to funding for oral oncology medications, infusion therapies, supportive medications, and other treatment-related expenses.
- Monitor availability of grant funding and proactively connect eligible patients with resources.
- Maintain expertise regarding local, state, federal, nonprofit, and disease-specific financial assistance programs.
Denial Management and Revenue Recovery
- Track insurance denials and reimbursement challenges impacting oncology patients.
- Analyze denial trends and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Collaborate with revenue cycle and billing teams to support resolution of complex cases.
- Assist with gathering documentation required for reconsiderations and appeals.
- Maintain reports related to patient assistance outcomes, denials, and recoveries.
Care Team Collaboration
- Communicate patient financial concerns and interventions to physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, nurse navigators, social workers, pharmacists, financial counselors, and other members of the oncology care team.
- Document all patient interactions, financial assessments, referrals, and outcomes within the electronic medical record.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case reviews, and oncology program discussions.
- Serve as a resource for staff regarding financial advocacy, insurance requirements, and patient assistance opportunities.
- Promote collaboration across cancer services to improve access and continuity of care.
Resource Coordination and Advocacy
- Connect patients with community resources for transportation, lodging, food assistance, and other support services that may affect treatment adherence.
- Advocate for patients experiencing financial hardship related to their cancer diagnosis and treatment.
- Assist patients throughout the continuum of care, from diagnosis through survivorship.
- Support efforts to reduce financial toxicity and improve the overall patient experience.
Program Development and Quality Improvement
- Maintain current knowledge of healthcare regulations, insurance practices, oncology reimbursement, and patient assistance resources.
- Participate in ongoing education, oncology program meetings, and financial advocacy initiatives.
- Assist leadership with program development and process improvement efforts.
- Track and report key performance indicators, including financial assistance secured, patient outcomes, denial recoveries, and resource utilization.
- Contribute to initiatives designed to improve access, reduce treatment delays, and enhance patient satisfaction.
Education/Experience Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's Degree preferred. 1-2 years in a medical setting or equivalent. 2-3 years of customer service experience in a high volume, multiple tasks, high stress environment, ability to multitask. Plus 1 year hospital or medical office collections or financial counseling experience. Experience handling difficult callers, customers and patients. Basic knowledge of managed care and commercial insurance. Basic knowledge of medical terminology and billing and coding practices. Familiarity with all third-party payors. Familiarity with IDPA eligibility for the MANG program. Previous verification experience
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Certain positions may need to take call
- Ability to transport objects, patients, and equipment

- Work environment includes probability of exposure to adverse, hazardous, or unpleasant conditions while caring for the sick
- Ability to assist in evacuation of patients in the event of a fire or other disaster
- Routinely works with potentially infectious specimens and patients
- Ability to respond to patients in a timely manner and access all areas of the unit
- This requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 04/20/2014
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Position Purpose
The primary objective of this position is to provide quality of care. Responsible for the direct and/or indirect care of patients assigned utilizing professional nursing skills and knowledge.
As a Registered Nurse, you will
Assesses learning needs, readiness to learn and identify actual or potential barriers to learning and thereby incorporating the patient's education into daily activities based on age, cultural and spiritual values.
Documents admission assessment / reassessment, plan, interventions and medication use and monitors its effects and outcomes according to policy.
Utilizes the information management system to enhance communication and documents change in-patients condition to all appropriate individuals. Prioritizes work assignment based on changing situations.
Communicates transfer of patient responsibility and pertinent information at the bedside and during Interprofessional Rounds
Recognizes and integrates patient special needs and individualizes care and knowledgeable in abuse recognition and referral
Includes pain management and supportive care issues in the plan of care.
Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care and by promotes and maintains a safe, clean and orderly environment.

This RN Pt Navigator will provide inpatient and outpatient complex care coordination and oversight to ensure safe and appropriate care is provided to the Advanced Lung Disease patient populations. Additionally, they will improve patient care, patient satisfaction and throughput by providing: being the point of contact for the patient and caregivers, extensive patient teaching, monitoring patient progress and plan of care adherence, managing acute calls and needs, symptom management of advanced therapies, intervening as necessary as a patient advocate and patient educator. This role will coordinate complex care with patient specialist and primary providers to ensure best outcomes are achieved both inpatient and ambulatory. Additionally, the navigator assesses, addresses, removes and prevents barriers to care thereby improving patient care, patient satisfaction and throughput. This specialized nurse is the point of contact and liaison for the patient and caregivers, provides extensive patient teaching, monitoring patient progress and plan of care adherence, managing acute calls and needs, nursing support, intervening as necessary as a patient advocate and patient educator. POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides comprehensive care coordination, supporting a holistic and coordinated approach across the continuum of care. This position assists with informed decision-making; collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to allow for timely screening, diagnosis, treatment and increased supportive care throughout the patient experience. CORE FUNCTIONS

6. Supports the patient and family during difficult decision-making periods. Assist in coordination of end of life care for patient and family and provides emotional support.
7. Supports process improvement activities for populations of patients to achieve the optimal clinical, financial, operational, and satisfaction outcomes. Participates in staff development to maintain current standards of practice and ensure the highest quality of care.

Transition of Care ONN will focus on coordination of care after hospitalization for patients with a cancer diagnosis or incidental finding requiring coordinated follow up and collaboration with the University of Arizona Teams. Collaboration often aligns with the Oncology Nurse Navigators (ONNs) in our outpatient Cancer Clinic who complete barrier assessments, provide education, symptom management, early navigation, patient education and support. ONNs collaborate with all members of the team to facilitate patient care, navigating the patient to achieve optimal outcomes. Breast Cancer Nurse Navigators (ONNs) in our outpatient Cancer Clinic complete barrier assessments, provide education, symptom management, early navigation, patient education and support. This position provides comprehensive care coordination, supporting a holistic and coordinated approach across the continuum of care. This position assists with informed decision-making; collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to allow for timely screening, diagnosis, treatment and increased supportive care throughout the patient experience. This position provides individual assistance to patients, families and caregivers to help identify and overcome barriers which may hinder quality medical and psychosocial patient care.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Assesses the patient’s plan of care and develops, implements, monitors and documents the utilization of resources and progress of the patient through their care, facilitating options and services to meet the patient’s health care needs.
2. Evaluates the medical necessity and appropriateness of care, optimizing patient outcomes. Serves as a liaison for referring physicians and assists with scheduling initial tests and consultations.
3. Assists the patient/family through diagnostic services, treatment and care. Coordinates disease care using an interdisciplinary holistic approach, making appropriate referrals and consultations in coordination with physicians and providers.
4. Ensures that the patient and family understand the diagnostic processes, care strategy and recommended actions, and are provided with appropriate information in coordination with physician and health care providers. 5. Evaluates patient’s functional abilities and limitations. Determines if intervention is needed. Establishes treatment goals that are functional, measurable, patient related and reflect key limiting factors. Establishes and implements a plan of care to achieve treatment goals. Collaborates with patient and family when setting goal; initiates discharge planning. Recommends additions to or modifications of referring orders.
6. Supports the patient and family during difficult decision-making periods. Assist in coordination of end of life care for patient and family and provides emotional support.
7. Supports process improvement activities for populations of patients to achieve the optimal clinical, financial, operational, and satisfaction outcomes. Participates in staff development to maintain current standards of practice and ensure the highest quality of care.

Requires excellent organizational skills and clinical knowledge regarding specialty care services, as well as care coordination of services, legal and financial aspects of diagnostic services and health services in specialty area. Requires effective communication and writing skills, good time management skills and knowledge of word processing and database software applications. Position Summary
The Scheduling Coordinator-Specialty Clinic is responsible for providing coordination of the provider’s surgery and clinic schedules. This is a clerical position which is the first line representative to the hospitals and surgery centers and is responsible for scheduling appointments and operative procedures. This position works as a team member of the clinic.
Responsibilities:

Oncology Infusion Pharmacist
We are seeking an Oncology Infusion Pharmacist to ensure the safe, accurate, and effective preparation, verification, and dispensing of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biologic, and supportive care medications for oncology patients. This role collaborates closely with oncologists, advanced practice providers, nurses, and pharmacy technicians to optimize patient outcomes, maintain regulatory compliance, and support evidence-based cancer care in an ambulatory infusion setting.
Key Responsibilities
Review, verify, and prepare chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, supportive care, and infusion medications in accordance with oncology protocols, USP standards, and state/federal regulations.
Evaluate medication orders for appropriate dosing, treatment regimens, organ function, laboratory values, allergies, drug interactions, and protocol compliance.
Verify chemotherapy calculations based on patient-specific parameters including diagnosis, body surface area (BSA), weight, and laboratory results.
Supervise and support pharmacy technicians involved in sterile compounding and medication preparation to ensure accuracy and quality.
Collaborate with oncologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to resolve medication-related issues and optimize treatment plans.

Melanoma & Sarcoma Oncology Nurse Navigators (ONNs) in our outpatient Cancer Clinic complete barrier assessments, provide education, symptom management, early navigation, patient education and support. TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
- Two years recent relevant experience
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Demonstrated general knowledge and competence with regards to nursing theories, concepts and practices; medical terminology; anatomy; and physiology
- Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precaution policies, best practices regarding patient care and privacy, and changes in local/state/federal regulations
- Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people
- Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook), Electronic Health Record
- Prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines
