Salmon, Idaho Experience
The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) performs routine and moderately complex laboratory testing to support diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patient conditions. Working under the supervision of the Medical Laboratory Scientist or Laboratory director, the MLT ensures accurate, timely, and reliable test results while maintaining compliance with CLIA and hospital quality standards.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Performs routine and moderate complexity testing in chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology, immunology, and transfusion services as permitted by CLIA regulations.
· Completes appropriate routing, handling, and processing of various medical specimens including blood, stool, sputum, throat cultures.
· Runs daily QC, evaluates results, documents corrective actions, and participates in proficiency testing.
· Operates, calibrates, and performs basic troubleshooting and maintenance on laboratory analyzers and equipment.
· Receives, labels, prepares, and processes specimens; ensures proper handling, storage, and routing; Interprets physician's orders and secures a requisition before performing test.
· Reviews results for accuracy, identifies abnormal or critical values, and follows established protocols for provider notification.
· Maintains accurate records, follows SOPs and adheres to CLIA, COLA and hospital safety standards.
· Performs venipuncture and capillary collections as assigned; provides professional, compassionate patient care.
· Works closely with MLS/MT staff, nursing, and providers to support efficient workflow and timely turnaround.
· Monitors reagent and supply levels; assist with ordering and stocking.
· Identifies workflow issues and contributes to quality and efficiency initiatives.
· Answer phones and questions presented by callers, Doctors, and Hospital Staff.
· Collect drug screens with a chain of custody (DOT and non-DOT); Performs Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) and completes associated Chain of Custody
· Collects paternity tests and properly completes associated chain of custody.
· Perform EKGs.
Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

Must be a national registered Medical Laboratory Technician, preferring three years’ experience in laboratory work. Continuing education on a regular basis. Must meet all guidelines required under CLIA 88. BLS certification and training required.

The Certified Surgical Technologist supports safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care by preparing operating rooms, maintaining sterile technique, and assisting surgeons and perioperative teams throughout surgical procedures. The CST ensures instruments, equipment, and supplies are available and functioning, anticipating the needs of the surgical team, and contributes to positive patient outcomes through technical expertise and strong teamwork.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Prepare operating rooms with appropriate instruments, equipment, supplies, and sterile setup according to surgeon preferences and procedure-specific requirements.
Verify functionality and sterility of instruments and equipment prior to procedure. Operate and troubleshoot surgical equipment within scope of practice.
· Assist with patient positioning, prepping and draping patients for surgical procedures under RN direction.
Always maintain strict sterile techniques and aseptic practices. Monitor sterile field integrity and collaborate with the team to prevent breaks in sterility.
· Anticipate surgeon and procedural needs, passing instruments, sutures, and supplies efficiently.
· Handle specimens appropriately, ensuring accurate labeling and transport
· Assist with counts of instruments, sponges, and sharps according to policy.
· Clean, decontaminate, and prepare instruments for reprocessing.
· Restock rooms and ensure readiness for subsequent procedures.
· Document equipment issues and support quality and safety initiatives.
· Follows written procedures for steam sterilization; knows responsibilities and the necessity for chemical and biological monitoring
· Collaborate with surgeons, RNs, anesthesia providers, and support staff to ensure smooth surgical flow.
· Communicate clearly and respectfully in high-acuity environment.
· Participate in ongoing education, competencies, and performance improvement activities.
· Demonstrate reliability, accountability and adherence to hospital policies and regulatory standards.
· Make decisions reflecting knowledge of facts and good judgment (assigned case and instruments and/or trays to be pulled for the procedure) within the Operating Room Technician’s scope of practice.
· Attends at least 75% of staff meetings annually, reads and returns all monthly staff meeting minutes.

Qualifications
· Must have a current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential. (NBSTSA or NCCT)

· Must be available to work two to three nights/days a week on call for emergency surgery services on a routine basis.

The CT Technologist will perform a variety of procedures that require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for multiple diagnosis or intervention. Duties/Responsibilities:

Consistently provide images of optimal diagnostic quality on patients ranging from Neonatal to Geriatric age group; Follow established imaging and viewing protocols.
Operate imaging equipment in diagnostic radiology and CT procedures efficiently and effectively.
Complete quality imaging in a timely manner, effectively organizing and prioritizing work flow to meet STAT and urgent demands while continuing to meet patient standards.
Interact with patient to ascertain medical history and provides instructions and explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image.
Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent. Screens patients for surgical implants, allergies, etc.
Obtains prior films/exams as needed and performs high quality scans to submit to the Radiologist for interpretation.

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) role provides crucial support to the nursing staff and assists patients with their daily care needs. This role is essential for ensuring patient comfort and safety in a hospital unit environment.

Duties:

Shares expertise and information with colleagues throughout Steele Memorial Medical Center
Submits recommendations that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of behavioral health services
May utilize group therapy formats as applicable
Maintains client privacy and confidentiality. Does not share client information without a written informed consent from the client, guardian, or parent
Immediately reports violations of ethical behavior to his/her supervisor
Maintains knowledge of current accepted practices and research-based recommendations for different treatment interventions
Completes all documentation in a timely manner
Requirements:
Education Required:
Masters degree in Social Work
Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in the state of Idaho
Related Years of Experience Required:
Completion of 3,000 hours post graduate degree in supervised clinical services and certified/licensed in the state of Idaho required
Completion of 3,000 hours of supervised clinical experience in direct psychotherapeutic services to individual, families, couples and groups
Capable of working 8 plus consecutive hours, demonstrate ability to function under stress and rapidly changing conditions. Demonstrates the ability to perform triaging and crisis intervention
Credential/Licensed Required:

Performs initial assessment on patients presenting to the ED and documents assessment findings in the EMR
Performs and records vital signs/oxygen saturations and documents findings in the EMR
Notifies ED provider of patient arrival and findings of inital assessment
Re-evaluates patients condition as needed and documents findings in the EMR
Explains treatments, rationale, and expected outcomes to patients and/or patient support system
Collaborates with patient and/or patients support system in education of treatments, medications, preventative measures and follow-up
Maintains a confident, secure atmosphere
Accurately completes the medication template of the patient's EMR in compliance with SMMC Medication Reconciliation Policy
Accurately completes the allergy template of the patient's EMR
Participates in the restocking of supplies in the ED
Make nursing decisions within ht escope of licensure and according to established hospital policies and procedures

Summary:
Registered Cardiac Sonographer will perform outpatient transthoracic echocardiograms examinations to assess heart function. Will assisting physician in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions. This role requires expertise in ultrasound imaging, patient care, and collaboration with healthcare teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Conducts 2D, Doppler, and color flow echocardiograms to evaluate cardiac function.
· Perform stress echocardiography and contrast-enhanced studies as needed.
· Explain procedures to patients, ensuring comfort and cooperation
· Reviews patient orders and previous diagnostic studies and records patient information on their own history sheets for the cardiologists
· Recognize normal and abnormal echocardiographic findings and report concerns to the physicians.
· Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring optimal imagine quality.
· Records echocardiographic images using the proper identification information. May discuss test results with the physician or request that the physician personally view the echocardiographic image.
· Sends echocardiographic images to cardiologists per Information Technology (IT).
· Trouble shoots technical issues and coordinate equipment services.
· Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to confidentiality standards.
· Work closely with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
· Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and infection control protocols.
· Prepares monthly Outpatient Specialty Clinic and Echocardiography statistic reports for Administration and Business Office.
· Receptionist duties to include answering the clinic calls, taking messages, and appropriately routing the calls and messages. Will be responsible for the faxing of any paperwork and precertification’s requested by the physician.
· Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness, including provision for the contamination free condition of rooms, equipment, and personnel.
· Maintains outpatient clinic supplies, restocking as needed.
· Reports equipment failure directly to director.
· Keeps current regarding developments in trends and techniques of Cardiac Sonography by reading technical journals and keeping up with the continuing education in the field of Cardiac Sonography.
· Adheres to prescribed standards of practice for Cardiac Sonography.
