*Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent patient care abilities, and a thorough understanding of dental procedures and terminology. Experience with EMR systems, infection control protocols, and medical records management is essential. The Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in patient assessment, education, and treatment support while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining the highest standards of infection control.

*Duties*

* Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and calculus buildup
* Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates
* Assist with patient assessment by reviewing medical histories and documenting dental conditions
* Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care
* Prepare patients for examinations by the dentist, including medical imaging and intraoral photography
* Support chairside assisting during various dental procedures using aseptic techniques
* Manage medical records accurately within EMR systems, ensuring documentation review and proper coding
* Maintain infection control standards in accordance with OSHA guidelines and CDC recommendations
* Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations and excellent patient care

*Qualifications*

* Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice
* Valid certification to administer local anesthetic
* Experience with dental office softwares (we use SoftDent)
* Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures
* Proficiency in medical coding, documentation review, and medical records management
* Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures
* Ability to perform four-handed dentistry efficiently in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
* Experience working with EMR systems and medical imaging equipment preferred
* Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times
