TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
Able to stand, walk, bend, squat, and reach frequently. Possesses physical agility and adequate reaction time to respond quickly and appropriately to unexpected patient care needs. Must be able to see, hear and speak with or without assistive devices. Must be able to lift 50 pounds during patient mobility occasionally and 25 pounds or less frequently utilizing proper body mechanics. Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone. Proficiency in executive function skills, including planning, organization, focusing attention, flexible thinking/problem solving, memory, self-monitoring, and juggling of multiple tasks.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Under valid referral process, carries out an individualized program of physical therapy, including assessment, treatment, planning, implementation, education, and effective communication to maximize a patient’s progress toward achieving functional goals.
Provides direct patient care within scope of practice. Seeks excellence in practice by utilizing evidence-based or best practice techniques.
Has knowledge and skills to care for the physical and developmental needs of the population age groups that will be receiving services. Is kind and welcoming to all, regardless of gender, ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, or other factors.
Provides counseling to patients and patients’ families/caregivers about results of testing and recommended treatment options. Involves patients and families in goal setting and treatment decision making process.
Appropriate supervision of Physical Therapy Assistant, with regular and timely communication.
Appropriate use of Rehabilitation Aides.
Continuously monitors patients’ functional needs and progress, adjusting plan of care as needed to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Clear, concise, and timely documentation including evaluation, plan of care, daily treatments, progress notes and discharge summaries.
Clear and timely documentation of other conversations with or regarding patients (e.g. telephone encounter to document any discussions with patients, providers, vendors, etc.)
Demonstrates integrity through compliance with insurance regulations, accountable billing procedures, judicious use of patient’s resources, and HIPAA rules.
Maintains good efficiency through effective use of downtime that occurs through patient no shows and/or cancellations.
Complies with hospital and departmental policies and procedures, Quality Improvement program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Supportive to ancillary staff. This includes clear communication with front office staff and compliance with department procedures for scheduling, cancellations, no-shows, and any other duties primarily associated with the front office.
Encourages innovation by enhancing professional growth and development of self and others through participation in educational programs, in-services, and workshops. Keeps up to date on professional literature.
Communicates in a kind and respectful manner to maintain a positive working relationship with all health professionals, ancillary staff, patients, and caregivers/family.
Ability to remain calm in emergency or crisis situations.
MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Serves as Clinical Instructor for Physical Therapy students at various stages of their education.
Allows observation by and provides mentorship to high school or undergraduate students.
Promotes the profession and Sky Lakes organization through participation in in-services to residents or other hospital departments, and participation community education events.

The Opportunity: Practice at Full Scope
Experience a "best of both worlds" environment: the autonomy of an independent model with the supportive backup of a collegial MD/CRNA group.
Schedule & Call: Enjoy a highly predictable schedule designed for sustainability and lifestyle, featuring a 39 weeks on / 13 weeks off model. Your standard week consists of three days of scheduled cases (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM), one call day, and one post-call day off. Call is highly supported, with CRNAs primarily taking first call on weekdays and physicians on backup.
What a Typical Week Looks Like:
Monday: Scheduled cases (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Tuesday (Call Day): Scheduled cases or float backup during the day; pager call after 5:00 PM
Wednesday: OFF (Post-Call)
Thursday: Scheduled cases (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Friday: Scheduled cases (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Note: Weekend call features an alternating first/second call structure (e.g., 1st call Friday, 2nd call Saturday, 1st call Sunday), followed by Monday off.
Rotation: Equitable 1:5 call (CRNA as first call; MD as backup).
Case Mix: Diverse and engaging, including General, Ortho, GYN, ENT, Podiatry, Urology, Spine, Vascular, Level 3 Trauma, Healthy Peds, and a heavy emphasis on Regional (main hospital OR + Ambulatory Surgery Center cases included) Anesthesia.
Facilities: Split your time between the main Hospital OR and our modern Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC).
