$20.80 - $31.20Major Responsibilities:
Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation which may include use of therapeutic assistive devices, proper positioning, range of motion and special transferring as indicated.
Measures and documents blood pressures, TPRs (Temperature, Pulse, Respiration), I & O (Intake and Output), daily weights, and other patient data as requested. Documents accurately in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Performs purposeful rounding under direction of RN and promptly communicates observations, concerns, and needs of patient/family to RN. Documents appropriately.
Participates in admission, transfer and discharge process under supervision of RN including room set up, orientation to room, removing linen, and proper management of patient belongings. Ensures patient call light is always in reach of patient and answers call-lights promptly.
Collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated using approved process for accurate specimen labeling and identification. Maintains competency as required.
Completes various errands as directed including pick-up and delivery of trays, charts, specimens, and reports. Maintains and orders stock for nursing area. Cleans equipment and work areas.
Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties which require lifting and pushing/pulling while utilizing proper technique and assistive devices. Performs tasks related to nutritional needs of patient under direction of RN to include diet review, tray set up/removal, proper positioning and diet selection.
Performs tasks related to maintaining skin integrity to include proper repositioning and skin care. Ensures special patient supplies and appliances are provided and maintained such as TED hose and sequential compression devices.
Under the direction of RN and as determined by site/unit requirements, may be required to remove IVs, provide post mortem care, and bladder scans.
Practices within policies and procedures of infection prevention by demonstrating hand hygiene and knowledge of sterile and aseptic procedures, proper disposal of contaminated materials and utilizing proper attire when in direct contact with patients in isolation.
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.
Education/Experience Required:
Education Required: High School Graduate, or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED). Team members will maintain annual educational requirements for hospital based certifications (e.g. DNV, CARF or others Experience Required: No experience required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Basic computer skills. Excellent oral and written communication. Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities. Certification Addendum Team members will maintain annual educational requirements for hospital based certifications (e.g. DNV, CARF or others).
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required:
Nurse Aide in good standing as indicated with the State Registry in which the team member practices., and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift. Must be able to: lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist. lift up to 20 lbs. over the head. carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance. Must be able to: - push/pull with 30 lbs. of force. - perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present. Will be required to use foot pedals on carts or machines. Must have functional vision and hearing. Will be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards as well as blood and body fluids on a continuous basis; therefore, protective clothing must be worn as necessary. Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.

Requirements

- Current Registered Nurse license in Washington State or Multistate License endorsement (MLS)
- Current BLS Certification
- Three (3) years of recent clinical experience in specialty area

Pay and Benefit Expectations
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $109,262.40 - $194,251.20 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. Vanderbilt Clarksville Intensive Care Unit (ICU), is a 21 bed mixed medical/surgical adult ICU specialized in providing close monitoring and treatment for patients with a wide-range of diagnosis. We care for patients being treated for Cardiovascular conditions, Acute Respiratory Failure, Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), Multisystem Organ System Failure, Sepsis, Drug Overdoses, Gastrointestinal Bleeds, Diabetic Ketoacidosis, Hypertensive Crisis, Acute/Chronic Renal Failure, STEMI, cardiogenic shock and post heart catheterization.
Our staff is committed to provide exceptional care to our patients. Our environment is challenging, team oriented, patient and family centered. We work collaboratively to provide opportunities for nurses to grow in critical thinking, professionalism, and participate in ongoing education.
Our team consists of Intensivists, advanced practice nurses, critical care nurses, and respiratory therapists. Daily multidisciplinary rounds include the intensivist, advanced practice nurse, ICU nurse, case manager, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, infectious disease, and a nurse leader. SWAT team consists of intensivist, advance practice nurse and charge nurse available as bedside consult. ICU charge nurse responds to codes, and RRT’s. Essential Functions:
- Evaluates individuals seeking behavioral health/substance use treatment and seeks justification for admission

The Certified Respiratory Therapist performs respiratory care interventions in accordance with the standards established by the American Association of Respiratory Care Clinical Practice Guidelines and OMC Respiratory Care Policy. Under the supervision of the Director/Supervisor and upon a physician's order, the Certified Respiratory Therapist assesses the cardiopulmonary status of patients of all ages (neonate through geriatric) and provides various types of respiratory diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, based on individual patient needs. An integral function of this position is providing patient education to enhance wellness.Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

Performs initial and follow-up assessments pertaining to respiratory care with skill. Physician(s) agrees with assessment and recommended plan of care and/or recommended change(s) in plan of care.
Evaluate patient's response to prescribed therapy in an on-going manner and communicates information, as needed to medical staff. Demonstrates expertise in selecting and/or adapting equipment that is appropriate for patient's age - neonate to geriatric.
Consistently incorporates patient education regarding common lung diseases, prescribed medications and plan of care into routine patient care and treatment. Makes every effort to optimize communication between self and patient (and/or family and visitors). Takes time to explain interventions in an empathetic, caring manner that is specific to patient's level of cognition.
Demonstrates proficiency in care and management of patients receiving mechanical ventilation by consistently choosing appropriate settings, relevant to the patient's condition at any given time.
Demonstrates proficiency in the use of non-invasive ventilation (Respironics Vision, Respironics V60 and Respironics BIPAP ST units), tailoring therapy to best meet individual patient needs. Independently titrates interventions with expertise to achieve optimal patient outcome. Aggressively seeks to avoid intubations by recommending use of noninvasive ventilatory support to physician when appropriate.
Demonstrates proficiency in establishing, maintaining and caring for patients with artificial airways. Independently and pro actively secures artificial airways and adjusts cuff pressures to assure patient safety and avoid tissue breakdown. Communicates and works cooperatively with the nursing staff to assure optimal tracheostomy care and patient education is provided.
Works cooperatively with members of the KCC staff to assume responsibilities for ECGs when assigned. Demonstrates respect for the patient's privacy and modesty when performing an ECG. Makes every effort to consistently obtain high quality ECG tracings (may require reapplication of electrodes, calm and respectful coaching of the patient to remain still during testing). Assumes responsibility for communicating serious ECG abnormalities to the patient's nurse and/or physician without delay.
Demonstrates proficiency in administration of physician-prescribed aerosol medication therapy, oxygen therapy, appropriate airway humidity therapy and all airway clearance techniques. Communicates in a professional manner with the physician when recommending modifications in the respiratory care plan, based on the patient's response. Demonstrates critical thinking skills by selecting the most efficacious supplies and equipment, appropriate to each individual patient care situation. Physicians routine agree with patient assessment results and drug delivery choices selected and implemented from the ECC Bronchodilator Protocol.
Consistently follows departmental policy and procedure regarding all phases of the blood gas analysis process: pre-analytical, puncture/specimen collection, analytical phase and post-analytical/results reporting phase. Demonstrates expertise, skill and concern for patient comfort and safety throughout the blood gas analysis process.
Demonstrates expertise in implementing, assessing results and acting appropriately on results of various pulmonary diagnostic tests and monitors. Accurately evaluates the pulmonary status of patients assessed by capnography, spirometry, blood gas analysis, hemodynamic monitoring and pulse oximetry. Serves as a resource to other members of the health care team regarding use of these monitors and assessment of results.
Demonstrates proficiency in assisting physician with therapeutic and basic diagnostic bronchoscopies. Appropriately assesses patient's cardiopulmonary status throughout the procedure, intervening with proficiency and expertise to optimize patient's comfort, safety and optimal outcome. Performs high-level disinfection of bronchoscope and related equipment as soon as possible following procedure, demonstrating attention to detail and strict adherence to policy.
Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

3K Medical Observation is a 22-bed observation unit. Our patients are here for a variety of behavioral health reasons requiring hospitalization. On 3K we do cohort most of the children at Levine Children's Hospital with a mental/behavioral health diagnosis. However, because we are a medical observation unit, we can also care for patients with a 1-2 day stay in the hospital. Majority of these diagnosis include IV hydration, rule out sepsis, ortho observation, and surgical observation.

This position performs prescribed specialized radiographic procedures as directed by following department/facility policies, procedures, and protocols in accordance with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and Medical Radiologic Technical Board of Examiners (MRTBE). This position ensures optimal care/treatment to all patient populations that are cared for in an operative setting.
The incumbent utilizes specialized training within specific surgical settings and possesses dynamic ability to adapt quickly and professionally, with minimal direction, in accordance with ALARA (“as low as (is) reasonably achievable”) guidelines.
Internal customers: All levels of medical imaging and nursing management and staff, medical staff, and all other members of the interdisciplinary health care team. External Customers: regulatory and health agencies, patients and family members.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Prepares for surgical procedures by setting up the imaging cart (if applicable) in accordance with each OR procedure, check laterality, uploads all patient information, ensures equipment is functioning as expected, and communicates with OR team regarding special imaging needs. Plans for upcoming surgical case needs by being included in OR team planning and all communications regarding specific case needs.
2. Educates patients/families regarding procedure and/or treatment to be performed. Demonstrates professional behavior/conduct in all interactions, fosters teamwork, efficient use of resources and quality patient outcomes.
3. Performs prescribed radiographic procedures in accordance with department/facility policies, procedures and protocols, as well as under the guidelines of the accrediting agency ARRT and any applicable state licensing agencies. Understands the principles of aseptic technique and universal precautions throughout the procedure.
4. Performs imaging exams with specialty equipment such as Hybrid OR, O-Arm, C-Arms, Mini C-Arms (peds, ortho), Flat plates for any other studies wanted (KUB’s, etc. for retained foreign bodies). Ensures Imaging C-Arm, fixed or mobile, are fully cleaned following each case and in accordance with infection prevention standards.
5. Produces high quality images and prepares/presents them with other pertinent patient information for timely interpretation. Prepares and maintains accurate documentation.
6. Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements. Demonstrates the ability to trouble shoot and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance. Proactively communicates with the surgical team, if and when, there are equipment issues of any kind so that schedules may be swiftly modified and the impact to patients and the surgical team is minimized.
7. Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors. Adheres to radiation safety policies and holds any person within the OR suite to the same radiation safety policies prior to ionizing radiation being emitted. Educates physicians, resident physicians and medical students on the importance of radiation safety and the importance of dosimetry while inside an active operative setting. Reports any identified radiation safety risks to the Radiation Safety Officer immediately.
8. Accountable for the ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities related to radiology practice. This includes maintaining confidentiality of all work information.
9. Facilitates educational and onboarding support for new intra-operative technologists.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Certificate or diploma from an approved/accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Requires national certification American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and licensure by state regulatory agency if applicable. BLS certification is required.
This position requires clinical knowledge typically achieved with two years of related experience.
Must demonstrate effective communication skills, human relations skills, ability to analyze data and solve problems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

Experience Required
Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program

Job Summary
Specialty Care APPs provide concentrated services on a single system, caring for both acute and chronically ill patients. This Virtual Hospital Medicine position provides comprehensive inpatient care through virtual admissions, inpatient rounding, cross-coverage, and ongoing clinical management utilizing Advocate Health’s virtual care platform. The APP collaborates closely with Hospital Medicine physicians, bedside providers, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient, high-quality, patient-centered care across multiple Advocate Health hospitals.
Essential Functions
Perform comprehensive admission history and physical examinations for adult hospitalized patients.
Perform virtual admissions and formulate appropriate treatment plans.
Conduct virtual inpatient rounding and follow-up assessments.
Record findings of examinations, assessments, and plans of care.
Develop, implement, and modify treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic studies.
Write prescriptions and administer medications within the scope of practice.
Monitor patient progress and respond appropriately to changes in clinical condition.
Coordinate patient care with physicians, bedside APPs, nursing staff, consultants, pharmacy, rehabilitation services, case management, and ancillary departments.
Document all patient encounters, assessments, interventions, and clinical decisions accurately within the electronic medical record.
Act as a patient advocate for the population served.
Attend, participate in, and contribute to department/practice meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and policy development as requested.
Maintain compliance with Advocate Health policies, clinical practice guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of licensure and credentialing.
