This job works in a collaborative model including but not limited to: residents, fellows, attendings, and staff who care for outpatient clinic patients of the organization. This job works under the supervision of the Medical Director or approved staff physician and in association with the PCCs, staff nurses, and discharge coordinator in the planning, implementation and evaluation of medical and nursing care; and assumes responsibility for primary and urgent medical management, emergency stabilization of all critically ill patients, teaching of residents and medical students, staff development and education, patient education and discharge planning.

• Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensure images meet diagnostic quality standards

• Lead educational sessions on USP825 guidelines and their application for Nuclear Medicine to ensure all staff adhere to USP825 standards for radiopharmaceutical compounding and handling
• Continuous research and education for the Nuclear Medicine Team on new radiopharmaceuticals, their applications, and therapeutic protocols including in-service sessions on emerging technologies and procedures
• Ensure safe and effective usage of radiopharmaceuticals and proper handling practices
• Review and audit written directives regularly, ensuring compliance with proper documentation and regulatory standards
• Oversee preparation and decontamination therapies
• Audit all therapy documents, ensuring all protocols are followed
• Daily checks for cleaning procedures in the Hot Lab
• Weekly temperature log printouts of refrigerator
• Regularly review compounding records for accuracy, especially in procedures like gastric emptying and RBC tagging

This job handles multi-disciplinary communications and facilitations of care throughout a patient’s hospitalization, which includes a review of the appropriate utilization of resources, balanced with the patient’s right to self-determination. Reviews patient hospitalizations, recommends a level of care that meets medically necessary hospital care criteria, and confirms a clear, specific level of care order and other appropriate documentation in the medical record. May discuss alternative care options with the Emergency Department (ED) physician or attending physician. • Utilizes data, information and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieve optimal outcomes.
