At Bronson Hospital, we are committed to keeping our patients and visitors safe and healthy. We’re looking for an Environmental Service Technician to help maintain cleanliness and infection control across the hospital. You’ll play an important role in making sure the hospital is a clean, safe place for everyone.
Bronson Hospital servesthe community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. To meet patient care needs, scheduling includes rotating weekends and holidays. Bronson is a drug-free employer, including THC.
What You’ll Do:
Clean and sanitize patient rooms (both occupied and unoccupied), public areas, surgical areas, and other spaces as assigned
Stock supplies and keep equipment clean and in working order
Follow safety and infection control guidelines to ensure the hospital is always clean and safe
Provide excellent service to both hospital staff and patients
Work closely with the Environmental Services Manager to make sure all tasks are completed to the highest standards
Follow detailed instructions and regularly check your work to meet quality standards

• Ability to work independently.
• Must be able to communicate (verbally and in writing) in English (at or above the 8th grade level) with departmental staff and internal and external customers.
• Must possess interpersonal skills that represent Bronson in a positive and professional manner.

• Must be able to comfortably accept delegation and negotiate task priorities.
Work which produces levels of mental/visual fatigue which are typical of jobs that perform a wide variety of duties with frequent and significant uncontrollable deadlines. Work may include the operation of and full attention to a personal computer or CRT up to 40 percent of the time. Involves regularly lifting of bulky or moderately heavy weights (i.e., up to 50 pounds), and occasionally assisting with heavier tasks or expending the equivalent effort in pushing, pulling, or otherwise handling material, equipment, and other objects.
• Performs most duties while standing, sitting, and/or walking. Lifts and/or pushes supplies and equipment. Frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching, is required to perform many job duties. Ability to work while standing on a stepladder at a height of four feet is required. Occasional exposure to risk of injury when working with electrical equipment. Must be able to walk stairs when necessary. Good balance is required when performing all duties. The employee is occasionally required to work in confined spaces and occupied areas. May experience occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries. May be called upon to handle emergency or crisis situations. Required protecting clothing may include gloves, eye protection, face protection, and shoe covers.
• Performs all cleaning functions involved in daily general cleaning and maintaining of patient rooms, operating rooms and ancillary areas, patient related areas, and departmental general areas following the system’s ten steps of cleaning as defined in the Environmental Services Department Manual.

• Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations per CDC, OSHA, the EPA, Joint Commission and policies, procedures and standards necessary for role.
• Follows all isolation procedures in isolation and contact plus rooms
• Detail clean vents, fan fixtures, tops of windows, door frames, wall art, bumpers, furniture and other areas as necessary
• Cleans public areas; lobbies, waiting rooms, rest rooms, elevators, utility rooms, exam rooms, offices, stairwells, and other areas assigned
• Collects and replaces all sharps and black pharmacy box containers in patient care areas.
Documents and maintains records of assigned cleaning tasks.
Restocking of supplies in assigned areas as needed.
Communicates information and requests as appropriate to the registered nurse and/or patient care assistant.
Communicate and provide exceptional service to patients, staff, families and visitors.
Maintains confidentiality of patient and unit data per HIPPA regulations.
Removes trash and soiled linen from assigned areas and transports to disposal area.
Keeps work areas neat and orderly, cleans equipment and assists with other duties as assigned.
May operate mechanical floor equipment such as IMops, vacuums, sweepers and other related environmental equipment.
Cleans equipment and stores in assigned locations.
Direct visitors as necessary.
May collect trays from patient rooms.
Coordinates activities related to cleaning area with department coordinator as needed.
Assumes responsibility for own growth and development; attends regular staff meetings.
Actively participates and supports the Bronson Management System by attending huddles and adopting the problem solving methods.
Operates ultraviolet (UV) disinfection equipment (Surfacide UV Robot). *BBC Only
All other duties as assigned which may include the use of the trash compactor, and emptying trash and linen chutes.
Specific to BMH Lab, BSH, BLH & BLIRC:
Collect, label and organize all Biomedical Waste for pick up by the waste hauler.
Collect, transport and take all recycling to compactor or comingle dumpster.
Transport waste to appropriate compactor or outside dumpster as needed.
Change privacy curtains where needed.
Round, inspect and maintain all assigned areas within scope of facility. Areas to include but not limited to: Lab work areas, offices, restrooms, waiting areas, patient procedure rooms, stairwells, receiving dock, ambulatory storage, EVS closets, BIO storage rooms, recycling areas inside and outside, elevator landing, elevator’s inside and out, elevator tracks.
Proper use of and maintenance of all assigned floor care machinery. Machinery to include but not limited to: auto scrubbers, corded and battery powered vacuums, iMop, burnishers and side by side scrubbers.

The NCCT will offer core services for patient recruitment and enrollment, trial administration and follow-up, and to gather real world data and evidence.
This position will be part of a team that will report to leadership in the NCCT and will manage the intake, document coordination and overall initiation of all non-federal clinical research studies submitted through the NCCT to the Office of Clinical Research (OCR) Pre-Award Team. This position ensures projects progress efficiently from initial sponsor contact through study start-up, including budget development, trial management builds, and contract coordination. The ideal candidate is highly organized, tech-savvy, and experienced in research administration and clinical trial workflows.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Coordinate the intake and start-up process for clinical research studies including industry-sponsored, investigator-initiated, and collaborative research.
Support pre-award functions by facilitating task assignments for contract negotiations, coverage analysis, budget development, and financial feasibility assessments.
Liaise with internal stakeholders (regulatory teams, study team, investigators, pharmacy, legal, OCR Pre-Award team, and IRB) and external partners (sponsors, CROs) to drive timely study activation.
Track, compile, and present project milestones and metrics to ensure adherence to institutional and sponsor requirements.
Review and verify complete submission of project and assess the need for additional information/documentation.
Participate in meetings and communications to provide project updates and ensure alignment across teams.
Assist with process improvement initiatives and documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and workflows.
Support financial forecasting and budget maintenance during the pre-award phase.

This position, under the supervision of a pharmacist, is responsible for obtaining a patient’s complete medication history through communication with the patient, family, and/or other resources and documenting it into the medical record. Medication History technicians (MHTs) perform an important function in collecting an accurate and complete medication history from every patient they encounter.A complete medication history will include prescription medications, over-the-counter (OTC) products, herbal supplements, vitamins/minerals, and other similar products.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Identifies and prioritizes patients according to need for medication history collection. Reviews and collects proper information for interview prior to patient interaction.
2. Interviews patients to collect the medication history. Asks pertinent questions to ensure capture of all prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, and herbal/dietary supplements. As necessary, contacts family or other resources (e.g. outside pharmacy) to get a more complete medication history.
3. Documents medication history and allergies in the electronic health record according to established procedures. Tracks history collection through intervention documentation. As appropriate, notifies proper hospital staff of medication history completion.
4. Follows procedure for infection control, safe patient practices (e.g. using 2 patient identifiers), interpreter services, and contraindications to patient interview.
5. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with all policies, laws, and regulations. Performs quality control activities such as monthly nursing unit inspections and pharmacy section checks in a timely manner.
6. Assumes the duties of the Acute Pharmacy Technician when needed and as appropriate. These duties may include, but are not limited to preparing, charging and crediting medications, restocking automated dispensing technology and compounding specialty medications and intravenous medications, to include hazardous and chemotherapeutic agents.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires Pharmacy Technician licensure and active Pharmacy Technician certification OR Pharmacy Intern licensure in the state of practice.
Incumbents in Arizona are also required to provide the AZ Board of Pharmacy Wallet Card at time of hire.
Minimum of two years pharmacy technician experience. Must have the knowledge of brand/generic names of drugs, including OTC’s and their strengths/uses, as well as knowledge of herbal/dietary supplements and their strengths/uses. Ability to complete moderate to difficult mathematical calculations using a hand-held calculator is required. Strong customer service focus, exceptional communication skills, strong attention to detail, prioritization capabilities, superior problem-solving skills, and ability to multi-task. POSITION SUMMARY
This position will work under the supervision of the pharmacist. Performs routine duties in packaging, distribution and record keeping of pharmaceutical supplies. Assists in preparing compounded and intravenous medications, total parenteral nutrition products, and chemotherapeutic agents. Consistently demonstrates an ability to assess a situation, consider alternatives, and choose the appropriate course of action. May work with the Pharmacist in processing physician orders for medications by entering information in to the medication management system in an unverified status. Under the supervision of the pharmacist, assesses and formulates potential recommendations to physicians and provides information to physicians, nurses, and others regarding topics relating to the medication use system. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients being served.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Selects and/or prepares medications, under direct supervision, as indicated on the patient medication orders. Places medications in patient boxes or in designated area for pharmacist to review, sends/delivers medications to nursing units as required. Investigates missing medication requests Charges/credits patients for medications and intravenous solutions as appropriate. Restocks unused and credited returned medications.
2. Attends to customers and answers telephones in a courteous and timely manner. Serves as a liaison between the customer and the pharmacist.
3. Using automated dispensing technology or requisition, restocks medications to nursing and ancillary areas after checked by a pharmacist. Restocks medications to all areas outside automated dispensing technology which may include but not be limited to trays, code carts and emergency boxes. Adds users to the automatic dispensing technology database as per policy. Investigates discrepancies in automated dispensing technology. Troubleshoots automated technology malfunctions.
4. Identifies medications and other items for reorder as necessary to maintain a continuous inventory of medications and supplies. Receives, checks-in, and restocks medications ordered through wholesaler and other vendors.
5. Compounds specialty drug products. Repackages bulk medications into unit of use packaging. Completes accurate documentation of items compounded and repackaged.
6. Assists in preparing and labeling of intravenous medication orders including total parenteral nutrition products and chemotherapy products using proper sterile and aseptic technique.
7. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, utilizes education and pharmacy skills in assessing and formulating potential recommendations to physicians to help ensure quality and economical drug therapy, and positive patient outcomes. May provide information (under pharmacist supervision) to physicians, nurses, and others regarding medication therapy, medication systems, drug product guidelines, laws and regulations, medication formulary, and other topics related to the medication use system. Medication assessments may be performed with special consideration given to medication safety and the needs of the specific patient age groups served.
8. Performs quality control activities such as monthly nursing unit checks and pharmacy section checks in a timely manner. Completes documentation on refrigerator temperatures, intravenous hood cleaning, and equipment maintenance activities as required.
9. Participates in all aspects of medication use, including (1) selection, procurement and storage, (2) dispensing, (3) monitoring of all medications utilized. Oversight of the clinical trials start-up process from receipt of protocols through the Scientific Review Committee and IRB submissions, and site activation activities.

Our patient population commonly includes pneumonia, COPD exacerbations, heart failure, chest pain, stroke, acute kidney injury, diabetes-related complications, electrolyte imbalances, infections, and other complex medical diagnoses. As the highest level of inpatient care at our hospital, our nurses develop strong clinical judgement through early recognition of changes in patient condition, close collaboration with providers, and timely coordination of transfers when a higher level of care is needed. Evaluating patient prior to procedures, checking for appropriate consent and patient ID reporting any alarming patient conditions, explaining the procedure to patient, answering and/or researching patient questions. May perform a wide variety of advanced patient care duties under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and maintains the patient care and unit environment consistent with the policies, procedures, and practices. GENERAL SUMMARY AND PURPOSE:
A Clinical Pharmacist provides medication preparation, distribution services and is prospectively involved with provision of pharmaceutical care and the promotion of high-quality, cost-effective, patient-focused care for populations across the age continuum (from neonatal to geriatric patients depending on hospital populations served) in conjunction with other members of the healthcare team according to professional standards and statutory requirements. The clinical pharmacist demonstrates pharmacotherapy expertise, participates in interdisciplinary education programs, and participates in problem recognition and resolution related to medication usage, actively participates in CQI initiative development and completion and provides clinical education to pharmacy department staff, students and pharmacy residents if part of the department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interprets and evaluates medication orders to ensure appropriateness of therapy; including, but not limited to dosage form, dose, and route of administration, schedule, starting time and duration.
- Monitors patient medication regimens for possible allergies, drug-drug interactions, nutrient-drug interactions, contraindications, therapeutic duplication and potential adverse drug reactions.
- Individualizes medication therapy based on patient variables including, but not limited to, renal function, age, weight, laboratory values and pharmacokinetic parameters.
- Manages drug therapy and utilization across the continuum of care through communication with physicians, nurses, other healthcare providers and patients to intervene on orders that are unclear, incomplete, inappropriate, or could cause poor drug outcomes and recommends alternative therapy.
- Participates in pharmaceutical care activities such as patient rounds, therapeutic drug monitoring, patient teaching and counseling, admission drug histories, antimicrobial stewardship, pain management and drug information education to healthcare professionals in response to questions or requests for in-service education.
- Documents clinical interventions, participates in quality assurance monitors, drug utilization reviews, pharmacoeconomic analysis, and monitors medication therapy outcomes as assigned.
- Consults with and advises physicians and other health care professionals in the development of safe, rational and cost-effective patient medication care plans.
- Recommends patient specific drug therapy, evaluates therapy regimens and makes recommendations to medical staff to optimize effective drug therapy.
- Educates physicians, employees and other allied disciplines about the goals and rationale of the institution's quality of care and cost containment programs related to medication usage and to pharmacotherapy and pharmaceutical care.
- Directs and monitors pharmacy technicians, interns, and students in preparation, packaging, labeling and distribution of medication.
- Directs, monitors and verifies the compounding of injectable medications including epidural infusions, irrigation, small and large volume parenterals, hyper alimentation and cytotoxic agents performed by pharmacy technicians as necessary based on hospital practices.
- Compounds and dispenses medications and injectable medications recognizing that compounding and/or dispensing errors may result in significant patient morbidity and mortality. Competency must be demonstrated before compounding or checking compounded products. Adheres to USP 797 / USP 800 Guidelines.
- Participates in hospital emergency codes responses. Provides and prepares emergency medications via emergency carts, cardiac kits and EMS/Ambulance kits as necessary based on hospital practices.
- Coordinates pharmaceutical services for specified hospital units. Problem-solves, communicates with, and serves as a liaison between these units and the pharmacy department.
- Initiates, directs, coordinates, and performs specific departmental projects as hospital practice allows.
- Adheres to and enforces Pharmacy & Therapeutics and departmental policies and procedures.
- Actively participates in staff development programs, continuing education, lectures, conferences, and preparation of newsletters, drug class reviews, and new policies and procedures as hospital practice allows.
- As hospital pharmacy department practice allows, participates in teaching programs affiliated with the Department of Pharmacy and training programs for nursing, physicians, pharmacists and other allied health professionals. Precepts Doctor of Pharmacy students on patient care activities. Meets with students regularly to review drug therapy and clinical skills.
