Geisinger is proud to offer a Nursing Assistant a $1500 sign on bonus for eligible candidates, $16.25 minimum hiring rate with increased rates for experienced individuals and up to $3 shift differentials for evening, nights, and weekend shifts! Also offering up to $40,000 in financial support to become a nurse!
Job Duties:
Responsible and accountable for performing a wide range of clerical duties and direct patient care activities, depending on the need of the unit. The performance of these tasks in an efficient and timely manner is essential to enhance the care team's ability to provide quality care. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range in their assigned clinical area.
- Provides patient care as directed, within the nursing assistant scope of practice, in meeting the multidisciplinary care plan established for each patient.
- Identifies, observes, and documents the physical needs of the patient according to established standards. Reports ant changes in patient condition to licensed personnel in a timely manner.
- Obtains and maintains the integrity of specimens in accordance with policy and procedure, according to physician order.
- Provides for or assists patients with activities of daily living and fulfills designated and delegated responsibilities for ongoing continuum of care. Includes patient hygiene and changing linens.
- Provides one to one patient safety watch as assigned following established policies and procedures.
- Accurately processes specimens and provides timely transport of the specimen to the laboratory.
- Performs point of care patient testing and point of care instrument maintenance and quality control.
- Assists in problem solving, trouble shooting and taking corrective measures in care and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
- Serves as a preceptor and mentor for new staff and students in a positive manner.
- Performs clerical duties for admissions, transfers, discharges, and deaths according to standards and facilitates patient throughput activities. Transcribes and processes orders according to unit standard.
- Releases and confirms ordered tests to appropriate departments.
- Coordinate's transportation of patients to multiple tests.
- Participates in obtaining and communicating electronic information as pertinent to the nursing unit. Schedules tests, faxes consults, etc.
- Assists in ordering supplies. Stationery items as well as floor stock, patient needs, individual nursing supplies.
- Communicates with food services to ensure appropriate patient diets.
- Operates, problem solves, and takes corrective measures for clerical equipment. To include scheduling maintenance of computers, fax machines, phones, etc.
- Staff have access to non-controlled medications storage and supply areas and can transport non-controlled medications as necessary to meet the needs of the clinic or unit.
- Assists with transporting non-controlled medications to and from Pharmacy and within the unit as needed.
- Assists with transporting blood products to and from Blood Bank as needed.

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of medical terminology, generic and trade pharmaceutical names, pharmaceutical calculations and laws and regulations.
Knowledge and understanding of different Pharmacy practice settings, including narcotic delivery and procedures.
Knowledge and ability to identify and employ pharmaceutical and medical terms, abbreviations and symbols commonly used in prescribing, dispensing, and record keeping of medications.
Requires a basic working knowledge of legal requirements and accreditation standards including National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), The Joint Commission (TJC), Title XXII, United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and United States Pharmacopeia (USP).
Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.
Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.

The Acute Care RN manages a diverse patient population with varying levels of acuity, including post-operative, medical, telemetry, and neurologic patients. Supervises and coordinates care provided by LPNs, Patient Care Assistants, and other nursing team members. Facilitates communication with physicians, patients and families, and interdisciplinary team members. Adheres to MercyOne’s performance expectations and upholds the Mission, Vision, and Values of MercyOne.
Essential Functions:
1. Conducts an initial assessment to gather data.
- Makes an initial assessment of new admissions within 30 minutes of the patient’s arrival to the unit.
- Completes all areas of the admission assessment database within 24 hours of admission.
2. Identifies patient problems and develops them into an outcome/goal-based plan of care.
- Initiates the patient problem list and incorporates relevant medical history into the plan of care.
- Analyzes and interprets the assessment data to identify desired patient outcomes/goals.
- Determines nursing interventions to achieve those outcomes/goals.
- Prioritizes patient care needs/ activities.
- Identifies and makes appropriate referrals (i.e., Patient/Family Services, Nutritional Services, Spiritual Care, Diabetic Educator, etc.), and education needs.
- Collaborates with other health care disciplines to plan interventions/ patient outcomes/goals.
3. Implements the outcome/goal- based plan of care.
- Assigns and coordinates patient care incorporating patient acuity and the skills, knowledge and abilities of the team members.
- Organizes and prioritizes care for the patients within the team.
- Delegates tasks appropriately to other team members.
- Implements the plan of care including procedures, treatments, physicians orders, nursing orders, education plan and medications.
- Coordinates implementation of plan of care with the Case Manager, Social Worker and other health care disciplines.
- Assists to decrease the patient’s length of stay by helping the patient and family identify and secure appropriate services to satisfy health-related needs upon discharge.
- Uses nursing judgment to determine the appropriate frequency and components of reassessment.
- Reassesses at regular intervals to determine patient response(s) to interventions (minimum RN reassessment every 24 hours).
- Focuses ongoing reassessment on actual and potential problems/needs of the patient including education and discharge needs.
- Participates in develop discharge plan.
- Documents discharge instructions for patient and/or significant other and/or other care provider.
4. Evaluates patient progress and revises the outcome/goal-based plan as needed.
- Evaluates patient response(s) to interventions.
- Review/modifies/revises the outcome-based plan of care based on ongoing reassessments.
- Updates the problem list and outcomes/goals.
5. Communicates relevant clinical information to the team to optimize patient outcomes/goals.
- Communicates relevant clinical information to physicians regarding the patient’s condition.
- Reports progress toward outcomes/goals and/or changes in condition to other health team members.
- Maintains ongoing communication with interdisciplinary team members throughout the shift, at shift change, and transfer of care.
- Communicates with other team leaders and members throughout the shift to reassess and prioritize the needs of the unit.
- Documents completely, comprehensively and legibly and in accordance with policy.
6. Demonstrates clinical competence.
- Utilizes Patient Care Policies and Procedure as references to guide nursing practice.
- Assures medication safety by following the “5 Rights” of medication administration.
- Prioritizes and implements intervention according to patient assessment.
- Demonstrates competency in computer systems and applications required for role.
- Receives, transcribes and processes and implements physician orders per policy including dating, timing and verifying accuracy.
- Maintains communication with the manager/house supervisor and staffing office regarding admissions, unit needs, acuity numbers and significant events.
- Completes assigned shift duties and assures resolution of discrepancies.
7. Manages telemetry and cardiac monitoring when applicable.
- Demonstrates clinical competency and technical knowledge in cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring.
- Recognizes and responds appropriately to cardiac arrhythmias and other changes in patient condition.
- Must be capable of managing multiple patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring.
- Provides appropriate interventions for patients experiencing cardiac events or changes in rhythm.
- May be required to assist with data collection and quality improvement initiatives.
- Must be willing to serve as a resource to other hospital services (nursing, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, respiratory, etc.).
- May be asked to participate in unit-based committees and provide education to nursing staff as requested.
8. Based on principles of growth and development, provides care appropriate to the age-related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unit.
9. Collects, analyzes, interprets and applies age-specific data.
- Performs tasks/procedures, uses equipment in an age-appropriate manner.
- Communicates and works with others in an age-appropriate manner.
10. Adheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies and procedures.
- Attends required safety programs.
- Appropriately and consistently uses the personal protective equipment required of the job.
- Knows and can demonstrate departmental emergency procedures for fire, disaster and other emergency situations.
- Reports and removes unsafe equipment/furniture.
- Asks for assistance when needed to assure safety for all involved.

11. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.

Job Description:
This position demonstrates consistent application of knowledge and skills to deliver appropriate, safe, efficient and cost-effective pharmaceutical care within the scope of their assigned practice. Makes appropriate evidence-based interventions to optimize medication use. Ensures safe, appropriate, cost-effective therapies and accurately dispenses medications.
- Oversees and/or participates in assuring appropriate medications are prepared and delivered timely to care areas and are stored both securely and appropriate for both stability and effective workflow.
- Provides counseling to patients and promotes quality medication education and adherence. Ensures patient is well informed, treated with respect, and receives the highest level of professional service.
- Completes all regulatory and compliance training and ensures documentation of regulatory requirements is clear and complete. Is knowledgeable and compliant with state and federal laws, regulations, pharmacy policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures.
- Supervises and directs activities of interns, technicians, and support personnel as required. Provides medication related clinical consultation and clarification to other health professionals.

The research finance analyst position is responsible for facilitating the UofL Health departmental review process to help determine the impact to operations in affected areas and to help ensure all costs are identified and any concerns are addressed early in the facility review process. The position also coordinates the monthly accounting and reporting of research services and related accounts receivable, including patient accounting and the additional administrative tasks that our clinical service lines must complete per research protocol requirements.
Essential Functions:
- Review clinical research protocols for financial/operational impact & work with UofL Health departments to determine feasibility and identify all applicable costs. Provide pricing to researchers for items/services required.
- Review and approve the coverage analysis of billable items and services submitted by clinical researchers. Review final clinical research budgets to ensure accurate coverage analysis, pricing and UofL Health cost coverage. Revise or prepare coverage analysis documents as need to ensure compliant billing plan is developed, maintained and followed. Review contracts, budgets and consent forms to ensure congruency.
- Facilitate billing compliance by driving the process with the Cerner Clinical Informatics (CI) team and UL Cancer Trials Program to review the Cerner power plan builds at time of study start up and throughout the life of clinical trial.
- Track and Invoice for non-patient AR research services such as ULHRO fees, anatomical pathology lab services, pharmacy services, imaging transfer fees and bill the research program when applicable. Follow up on outstanding AR as needed.
- Cross train to ensure daily coverage of the UofL Health research billing email service account as needed for institutional compliance to include reviews of anatomical pathology requests, generate daily system reports and hold encounters in the patient accounting systems to avoid improper claims processing.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients using the medication use process. A Clinical Staff Pharmacist is accountable for documentation of all components of pharmaceutical care they deliver to patients. CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Processes medication orders and evaluates their appropriateness and completeness with respect to patient data including age, height, weight, diagnosis, laboratory values, and other pertinent patient information.
2. 4. Drives their professional development through the utilization of BPS educational resources to achieve competence in the current and future BH acute pharmacy core clinical practices and activities. Additionally, assist with training and onboarding of new staff as applicable.
5. Prepares and dispenses medications, including sterile or non-sterile compounded medications, in an accurate and timely manner in compliance with company policies and procedures and established regulatory requirements. Coordinates medication preparation and distribution and ensures accuracy prior to dispensing medications.
6. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, which may include management of technology, inventory management, and accurate record keeping. Supervises and directs the work of pharmacy technicians, interns, and students.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires unrestricted Pharmacist licensure in the state of practice and a degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
If not licensed in the state of practice, must have completed the Board of Pharmacy application process within 30 days of job offer. Must be licensed within 90 days of hire unless the delay is due to the State Board of Pharmacy.
Banner Registry and Travel positions require a current and unrestricted Pharmacist license (not intern) at the time of hire and a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a pharmacist in the specialty area.
Must possess good organizational, problem solving, and computer skills. Must possess good written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with all levels of staff, physicians, patients and other contacts. Must be able to use reference tools to evaluate patient care and answer questions posed by customers.

Description:
- An Ambulatory Pharmacist Heart & Valve Center is responsible for providing clinical pharmacy services for ambulatory patients through accurate medication reconciliation; developing patient care plans including the selection, dosing, and monitoring of drug therapy; promoting medication adherence; and educating patients and other health care providers regarding complexities of drug therapy.
- Pharmacists will work under a collaborative care agreement with clinic providers; using approved protocols for disease states such as heart failure, hypertension and etc.
- Partners with providers and clinical staff on integration of the pharmacy team to coordinate care with patients.
- Communicating with physicians and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate exemplary service for new and existing clinic patients.
- Maintains onsite clinic pharmacy services, operational policies and procedures, clinical pharmacy workflows, and practice expectations.
- Participates actively in multidisciplinary committees, teams, working groups, and/or task forces related to the care of patients as the pharmacy representative.
- Educate clinic teams, pharmacy teams, and other professionals through a variety of educational venues including grand rounds and/or focused in-services.
- Addresses inquiries from clinic staff, providers, patients, and families.
- Ensures all state and federal regulatory requirements and accreditation standards are met and appropriately documented
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree Pharmacy.

- Kentucky Board of Pharmacy License in good standing as applicable to practice site.

Job Description:

Essential Functions

- Provides counseling to patients and promotes quality medication education and adherence. Ensures patient is well informed, treated with respect, and receives the highest level of professional service.
- Completes all regulatory and compliance training and ensures documentation of regulatory requirements is clear and complete. Is knowledgeable and compliant with state and federal laws, regulations, pharmacy policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures.
- Supervises and directs activities of interns, technicians, and support personnel as required. Provides medication related clinical consultation and clarification to other health professionals.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients using the medication use process. This position is accountable for documentation of all components of pharmaceutical care they deliver to patients. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients being served. CORE FUNCTIONS

Prepares and dispenses medications, including sterile or non-sterile compounded medications, in an accurate and timely manner in compliance with company policies and procedures and established regulatory requirements. Coordinates medication preparation and distribution and ensures accuracy prior to dispensing medications.
6. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, which may include management of technology, inventory management, and accurate record keeping. Supervises and directs the work of pharmacy technicians, interns, and students.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires unrestricted Pharmacist licensure in the state of practice and a degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
Incumbents in Arizona are also required to provide the AZ Board of Pharmacy Wallet Card at time of hire.
If not licensed in the state of practice, must have completed the Board of Pharmacy application process within 30 days of job offer. Must be licensed within 90 days of hire unless the delay is due to the State Board of Pharmacy.

The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills and qualifications.
For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
