Job Summary:
As the IT Epic Analyst II, you are responsible for the design, implementation maintenance and support of your assigned Epic software applications. You will work with operational teams across ProMedica and serve as a mentor for less experienced IT EMR staff.
You will plan implementation and upgrade clinical systems ensuring adequate testing, quality assurance and documentation of changes.
You will train IT employees and advise end-users in the operation of their information system and support the training team by keeping trainers informed of new functions and system changes.

REQUIREMENTS
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant clinical experience
- Must achieve Epic certification in primary application within 90 days of completing the first Epic class. Obtaining and maintenance of Epic Certification in the primary application is a mandatory job requirement. Obtaining and maintenance of a secondary or supporting Epic Certification will be at the discretion of leadership.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree or 3 years experience in Information Technology
- IT background
- 5 – 7 years relevant clinical experience

Salary Range - $37,440-115,960

Summary:
Coordinates and provides clinical pharmacy services to patients and works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team. Provides leadership and oversight to pharmacy technicians and other support staff for the distribution, dispensing and compounding of sterile and non-sterile medications and related supplies in compliance with accreditation, legal, regulatory and safety requirements.
Responsibilities:
Supervises and delegates tasks to technicians and other support staff to ensure timely prescription/order verification, preparation, and distribution of medications, compounding and/or supplies and coordinates workflow as needed.Provides Clinical Pharmacy services which may include but is not limited to: renal/hepatic dosage adjustment, pharmacokinetic dosing, anticoagulation monitoring, total parenteral nutrition, antimicrobial stewardship.Reviews, interprets and evaluates medication orders, labs and other clinically relevant information to ensure safe and optimal therapeutic outcomes and documents interventions appropriately.Manages and recommends drug therapy regimens as a part of an interdisciplinary team to provide patient and family centered care.Provides drug information to patients and healthcare providers including medical, nursing, and pharmacy staff.

As a Registered Nurse at MercyOne, you will provide and direct safe, effective, and culturally competent care for patients with acute medical and surgical conditions. Through evidence-based practice, utilizes critical thinking to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate outcome-based care. The Acute Care RN manages a diverse patient population with varying levels of acuity, including post-operative, medical, telemetry, and neurologic patients. Supervises and coordinates care provided by LPNs, Patient Care Assistants, and other nursing team members. Essential Functions:
1. Conducts an initial assessment to gather data.
- Makes an initial assessment of new admissions within 30 minutes of the patient’s arrival to the unit.
- Completes all areas of the admission assessment database within 24 hours of admission.
2. Identifies patient problems and develops them into an outcome/goal-based plan of care.
- Initiates the patient problem list and incorporates relevant medical history into the plan of care.
- Analyzes and interprets the assessment data to identify desired patient outcomes/goals.
- Determines nursing interventions to achieve those outcomes/goals.
- Prioritizes patient care needs/ activities.
- Identifies and makes appropriate referrals (i.e., Patient/Family Services, Nutritional Services, Spiritual Care, Diabetic Educator, etc.), and education needs.
- Collaborates with other health care disciplines to plan interventions/ patient outcomes/goals.
3. Implements the outcome/goal- based plan of care.
- Assigns and coordinates patient care incorporating patient acuity and the skills, knowledge and abilities of the team members.

4. Evaluates patient progress and revises the outcome/goal-based plan as needed.

- Review/modifies/revises the outcome-based plan of care based on ongoing reassessments.
- Updates the problem list and outcomes/goals.
5. Communicates relevant clinical information to the team to optimize patient outcomes/goals.
- Communicates relevant clinical information to physicians regarding the patient’s condition.
- Reports progress toward outcomes/goals and/or changes in condition to other health team members.
- Maintains ongoing communication with interdisciplinary team members throughout the shift, at shift change, and transfer of care.
- Communicates with other team leaders and members throughout the shift to reassess and prioritize the needs of the unit.
- Documents completely, comprehensively and legibly and in accordance with policy.
6. Demonstrates clinical competence.
- Utilizes Patient Care Policies and Procedure as references to guide nursing practice.
- Assures medication safety by following the “5 Rights” of medication administration.
- Prioritizes and implements intervention according to patient assessment.
- Demonstrates competency in computer systems and applications required for role.
- Receives, transcribes and processes and implements physician orders per policy including dating, timing and verifying accuracy.

May perform a wide variety of advanced patient care duties under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and maintains the patient care and unit environment consistent with the policies, procedures, and practices. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range on their assigned clinical area.
- Provides enhanced patient care under the direction of the licensed nurse, which may include but is not limited to advanced dressing care, suctioning, removal of Foley Catheter and peripheral IV.

The Observation Unit is a 16-bed, nurse-led department dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care for adult patients requiring short-term observation, treatment, and ongoing assessment. Our interdisciplinary team partners closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, case management, pharmacy, rehabilitation services, and ancillary departments to deliver efficient, evidence-based care with a focus on patient safety, quality outcomes, and timely disposition. Common patient populations include those requiring evaluation and treatment for chest pain, transient ischemic attack (TIA), dehydration, respiratory conditions, heart failure exacerbations, infections requiring short-term IV therapy, pain management, blood transfusions, and other conditions appropriate for observation-level care.

1. Understands and practices the principles of aseptic technique. Ensures proper disposal of one-time use items. Sets up and spikes IV manufacturer made maintenance fluids (does not include patient specific compound bags from pharmacy). May set up disposable supplies for sterile anesthesia field.
2. Evaluates equipment needs of patients being transferred from critical care units to the OR and OR to Phase I Recovery. Assists with connection of the proper monitoring equipment for patients after the surgical procedure.
3. Ensures basic anesthesia equipment is available in each anesthetic location including emergency airway equipment (i.e.bags, working blades, etc.). Assists anesthesia providers with intubations and other procedures by acquiring supplies, instruments, and lines. Responsible for storage, use and safe handling of bulk and cylinder gases.
4. Assists with line placement by aiding inserter.
5. Checks for expiration dates on disposable supplies. Ensures malignant hyperthermia supplies are available in assigned location.
6. Cleans up a hazardous spill ensuring SDS sheets are followed. Completes required incident documentation.
7. Sets up disposable supplies and assists with all therapeutic pain management applications (Blocks, Bier Blocks, Stellate Ganglion Blocks, Epidural Blocks, Intercostal Blocks, Trigger Point Blocks, etc.).
8. Sets up suction devices. Switches out anesthesia machine tanks and recording paper when needed. Confirms anesthesia equipment is available for CRNA/resident/MD including confirming power/gas sources & electrical cords are in proper working order; notifying Biomed & hands-on provider of concerns related to equipment & patient safety (i.e. loose sockets); and ensuring anesthesia equipment is properly cleaned prior to patient care & appropriately connected to emergency power outlets.
9. Provides Anesthesia support during all emergency situations (difficult intubation, latex allergy patient episodes, cardiac crisis, malignant hyperthermia, etc.) and routine case turnover including anesthesia post case cleaning. At end of day terminally cleans and dusts anesthesia equipment and prepares for next day use.
10. Anticipates anesthesia requirements for scheduled and emergent procedures and has equipment set up without requests from the MD/CRNA. Assumes responsibility for answering anesthesia pages during workday.
11. Sets up IVs, fluid warmers, and pressure transducers. Acquires computer pumps.
12. Monitors the inventory of consumable supplies. Ensures that the anesthesia carts are stocked and the anesthesia area is clean and uncluttered. May transport mobile cart’s medication tray to and from Pharmacy. Reprocesses reusable supplies.
13. Drains and reconnects hoses. Checks and changes soda sorb and tubing’s. Ensures the rotation of stock and the proper storage of electrical equipment.
14. Informs appropriate persons of equipment issues and potential problems. Recognizes need for repair and initiates repair actions. Maintains an equipment repair log and equipment loaner book.
15. Stocks IV bins and utilizes anesthesia exchange carts to stock anesthesia blue bells.
16. May perform Point of Care testing within role scope of practice. Performs all quality controls for Point of Care testing devices.
17. Provides information for budget preparation regarding needed equipment and supplies. Provides input on cost-initiatives and facilitates those components relative to the Department of Anesthesia.
18. Selects and prepares difficult airway equipment and instruments according to patient needs.
19. Assists within scope of role/practice anesthesiologist, resident, or CRNA with therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. Performs, as needed, all core duties of anesthesia care assistant. May function in charge role as assigned.
20. Unlicensed assistive personnel (UAP) may have limited access to medications including transport of non-controlled substances and MH kit at the request of a licensed care provider.
21. Partnering with new hire and role modeling scope of practice, assists with an orientee’s duties’ training.

May perform a wide variety of advanced patient care duties under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and maintains the patient care and unit environment consistent with the policies, procedures, and practices. The Clinical Pharmacist provides specialized pharmaceutical services to improve drug usage and therapeutic outcomes for patients. The Clinical Pharmacist actively participates in multidisciplinary patient-care rounds, medication order evaluation and verification, drug distribution, technician supervision, and clinical services including medication histories, pharmacokinetic dosing, drug information requests, and patient counseling to ensure the best medication therapy outcomes. When applicable, the Clinical Pharmacist will participate in development of new programs, services, practices, and facilitate scholarly and professional development activities.

Delivers comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients

3. Administers respiratory therapy treatments to patients such as intermittent positive pressure breathing, ultrasonic, postural drainage, spontaneous aerosol, peak flows in ICU, CCU and ER, post‑op, PACU, OB and other departments as requested.
4. Administers chest‑physio/therapy treatments to acute and chronic respiratory deficient patients to mobilize secretions in lungs; performs pulmonary function tests on patients to determine presence of acute or chronic lung disease.
5. Instructs patients in proper breathing techniques including incentive, purse lip, diaphragmatic and splinting breathing, using incentive spirometry.
6. Draws blood samples and analyzes for identification of arterial blood gases.
7. Responds to code calls throughout hospital and administers cardio/pulmonary resuscitation to patients; serves as active member of cardiac resuscitation team.

Job Description:
May perform a wide variety of advanced patient care duties under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and maintains the patient care and unit environment consistent with the policies, procedures, and practices. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range on their assigned clinical area.
- Provides enhanced patient care under the direction of the licensed nurse, which may include but is not limited to advanced dressing care, suctioning, removal of Foley Catheter and peripheral IV.
- May perform venipunctures and skin punctures to obtain blood specimens according to Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute guidelines.
- May perform daily, hands-on aspects of the storage, preparation and delivery of breast milk, infant and pediatric formulas.
- Documents in the appropriate sections to create a complete and accurate medical record.
- Identifies, observes, and documents the physical needs of the patient according to established standards. Reports any changes in patient condition to licensed personnel in a timely manner.
- Obtains and maintains the integrity of specimens in accordance with policy and procedure, according to physician order.
- Provides for or assists patients with activities of daily living and fulfills designated and delegated responsibilities for ongoing continuum of care. Includes patient hygiene and changing linens.
- Provides one to one patient safety watch as assigned following established policies and procedures.
- Accurately processes specimens and provides timely transport of the specimen to the laboratory.
- Performs point of care patient testing and point of care instrument maintenance and quality control.
- Assists in problem solving, trouble shooting and taking corrective measures in care and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
- Serves as a preceptor and mentor for new staff and students in a positive manner.

- Operates, problem solves, and takes corrective measures for clerical equipment. To include scheduling maintenance of computers, fax machines, phones, etc.
- Staff have access to non-controlled medications storage and supply areas and can transport non-controlled medications as necessary to meet the needs of the clinic or unit.
- Assists with transporting non-controlled medications to and from Pharmacy and within the unit as needed.
- Assists with transporting blood products to and from Blood Bank as needed.
- Discharge follow up phone calls / coordinating virtual discharge appointment team.
- Support / Assist staff with 5 min Drills and/or Quality Rounds - participate in regulatory readiness as needed.

The Observation Unit is a 16-bed, nurse-led department dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care for adult patients requiring short-term observation, treatment, and ongoing assessment. The unit serves patients who are clinically stable but require additional monitoring, diagnostic testing, therapeutic interventions, or care coordination to determine the most appropriate next step in their care.
Our interdisciplinary team partners closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, case management, pharmacy, rehabilitation services, and ancillary departments to deliver efficient, evidence-based care with a focus on patient safety, quality outcomes, and timely disposition. Common patient populations include those requiring evaluation and treatment for chest pain, transient ischemic attack (TIA), dehydration, respiratory conditions, heart failure exacerbations, infections requiring short-term IV therapy, pain management, blood transfusions, and other conditions appropriate for observation-level care.
