Under the leadership of the Chief Medical Officer, the Venice Family Clinic physician evaluates, treats, and makes appropriate diagnostic and specialty referrals for our patients. The physician is an integral part of the clinic staff, providing leadership and expertise on medical and patient care issues. Because the Venice Family Clinic has a large volunteer program, the staff physician has a unique role in orienting and providing technical support to the volunteer medical providers. This responsibility includes providing a positive role model, ensuring that volunteers understand Venice Family Clinic procedures and providing continuity of care for patients. The physician works cooperatively all Clinic departments including nursing, pharmacy, clinic coordinators, and Mental Health staff. The position requires flexibility in days and hours for clinical care, as some evening are included in the weekly schedule.
The University of California, Los Angeles is required to provide an estimate of the salary range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Salary offers are determined based on candidate qualifications and experience. Salary range: $235,000.00-$250,000.00 Annual

SUMMARY

Functions as a member of the Health Care Team under the direction of the Clinical Manager or designee to perform a variety of clerical duties. The Unit Secretary is responsible for good interpersonal and clerical skills, which promote quality patient care.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Exhibits appropriate use of medical terms and abbreviations.
Works as a member of the team to identify cost-saving measures in unit/clinic operations and patient care delivery, solve work process problems, and create new work methods.
Organizes and prioritizes workload based on patient and unit/clinic needs.
Assembles charts for admission and disassembles charts for discharge according to hospital guidelines.
Files reports in charts accurately and maintains medical records.
Answers phones and intercoms using proper phone and intercom etiquette and notifies appropriate staff.
Utilizes hospital computer systems accurately to enter orders, verify orders, retrieve data, and generate reports.
Reports computer and equipment malfunctions to the help desk.
Accurately uses all computer systems, including Patient Links, Nurse Links, Bed Board, MAK MAR, Carevue, and/or any new systems necessary to carry out the Unit Secretary role.
Enters verbal orders from physicians in the computer system within the limits of the Unit Secretary role, including:
Dietary orders
Lab orders
Radiology orders (restricted to diagnostic x-rays only)
Admit status orders
Transfer orders
Change of doctor and hospital service orders
Enters verbal orders from nursing restricted to those orders based on a protocol or covered by a previously entered physician’s order.
Transcribes doctors’ handwritten orders.
Faxes orders to pharmacy for medication entry and enters all other orders into appropriate departments.
Transcribes handwritten chemotherapy orders according to hospital protocol.
Arranges for necessary equipment delivery as needed.
Follows up on diagnostic tests ordered and documents booking in the computer under “Date/Time Scheduled Tests,” including any required preparations, holds trays, or makes patients NPO accordingly.
Orders stationery and office supplies as appropriate.
Maintains and stocks the A–Z file.
Faxes completed “Authorization for Use of Protected Health Information” forms to other healthcare providers, receives faxed information, and files it in the patient’s record.
Faxes other forms as needed.
Takes responsibility for educational updates by attending education sessions and accessing the “Patient Services” website.
Meets and maintains competencies measured by annual mandatory competency checks and mandatory/safety education.
Reports unsafe situations to the Professional Nurse or Clinical Manager.
Promotes safety on the unit.
Adheres to established RIH/unit standards, policies, and procedures, including:

Pages physicians and others via the hospital paging system, computer alpha paging, and the hospital emergency operator to page codes.

Coordinates Continuity of Care form copies accordingly.
Faxes forms to Home Care Services when indicated.
Files copies in the medical record.
Prints copies from “Life Links” if necessary.
Obtains copies of medical records as indicated.
Performs all aspects of the Unit Secretary role accurately, including but not limited to:
Patient type codes
Discharge disposition codes
Observation and inpatient status
Patient services charges
Calling consults when indicated
Updating dietary rounds reports
Understands and is able to perform appropriate Information Systems (I.S.) downtime procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
BASIC KNOWLEDGE
High school graduate or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
Effective interpersonal communication skills.
Able to multi-task in order to perform a variety of complex clerical duties.
Basic computer skills required.
Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Ability to read, write legibly, and speak English.

Sentara is looking for a strong Project Manager who will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Food Pharmacy/Pantry. This individual will serve as the program's operational lead and will coordinate volunteers, manage daily workflows, support patient engagement activities, and ensure the project's overall success and sustainability.
The Food Pantry will be supported primarily by volunteers, so the ideal candidate should have experience leading, directing, and overseeing volunteer teams. As a Registered Nurse at MercyOne, you will provide and direct safe, effective, and culturally competent care for patients with acute medical and surgical conditions. Through evidence-based practice, utilizes critical thinking to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate outcome-based care. The Acute Care RN manages a diverse patient population with varying levels of acuity, including post-operative, medical, telemetry, and neurologic patients. Essential Functions:
1. Conducts an initial assessment to gather data.
- Makes an initial assessment of new admissions within 30 minutes of the patient’s arrival to the unit.
- Completes all areas of the admission assessment database within 24 hours of admission.
2. Identifies patient problems and develops them into an outcome/goal-based plan of care.
- Initiates the patient problem list and incorporates relevant medical history into the plan of care.
- Analyzes and interprets the assessment data to identify desired patient outcomes/goals.
- Determines nursing interventions to achieve those outcomes/goals.
- Prioritizes patient care needs/ activities.
- Identifies and makes appropriate referrals (i.e., Patient/Family Services, Nutritional Services, Spiritual Care, Diabetic Educator, etc.), and education needs.
- Collaborates with other health care disciplines to plan interventions/ patient outcomes/goals.
3. Implements the outcome/goal- based plan of care.
- Assigns and coordinates patient care incorporating patient acuity and the skills, knowledge and abilities of the team members.

5. Communicates relevant clinical information to the team to optimize patient outcomes/goals.

- Reports progress toward outcomes/goals and/or changes in condition to other health team members.
- Maintains ongoing communication with interdisciplinary team members throughout the shift, at shift change, and transfer of care.

May perform a wide variety of advanced patient care duties under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and maintains the patient care and unit environment consistent with the policies, procedures, and practices. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range on their assigned clinical area.
- Provides enhanced patient care under the direction of the licensed nurse, which may include but is not limited to advanced dressing care, suctioning, removal of Foley Catheter and peripheral IV.
- May perform venipunctures and skin punctures to obtain blood specimens according to Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute guidelines.
- May perform daily, hands-on aspects of the storage, preparation and delivery of breast milk, infant and pediatric formulas.
- Documents in the appropriate sections to create a complete and accurate medical record.
- Identifies, observes, and documents the physical needs of the patient according to established standards. Reports any changes in patient condition to licensed personnel in a timely manner.
- Obtains and maintains the integrity of specimens in accordance with policy and procedure, according to physician order.
- Provides for or assists patients with activities of daily living and fulfills designated and delegated responsibilities for ongoing continuum of care. Includes patient hygiene and changing linens.
- Provides one to one patient safety watch as assigned following established policies and procedures.
- Accurately processes specimens and provides timely transport of the specimen to the laboratory.
- Performs point of care patient testing and point of care instrument maintenance and quality control.
- Assists in problem solving, trouble shooting and taking corrective measures in care and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
- Serves as a preceptor and mentor for new staff and students in a positive manner.

Essential Functions
- Reviews patients' medication order for allergy interactions, duplication of therapy, appropriateness of drug therapy, and drug- drug interaction. Reporting to the Head of Total Rewards, this role supports all HR functions—including Benefits, Compensation, Retirement & Savings, HR Service Center, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Employee Relations, HR Business Partners, and HRIS.
This position transforms complex workforce data into accurate, meaningful, and actionable business intelligence. The analyst ensures the validity and reliability of HR data, interprets trends, identifies relationships, and develops fact‑based insights that help leaders understand what is happening, why it matters, and where action may be needed. Success requires strong analytical capability, business acumen, intellectual curiosity, exceptional collaboration, and disciplined follow‑through.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Human Resources, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in data analytics, business intelligence, HR analytics, project management, Finance, Human Resources, healthcare analytics, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing large and complex datasets, validating data, identifying data‑quality issues, and translating findings into meaningful business insights.
- Experience developing dashboards and visualizations using Power BI or comparable tools.
- Experience coordinating complex, cross‑functional projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES: PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensures that annual HRSA recertification is completed within the allowable timeframe, that HRSA and the Office of Pharmacy Affairs (OPA) information system is accurate for all covered entities, and that any new child site is registered within the allowable timeframe. Maintains knowledge and expertise on Section 340B rulings and related interpretations, including new and proposed regulations, current trends and issues. Monitors 340B guidance and rule changes and assesses potential organizational impact of 340B changes. Ensures the 340B Program is continuously compliant with 340B federal regulations. Maintains knowledge of policy changes that effect the 340B Program, including, but not limited to, HRSA/OPA rules and Medicaid changes. Informs 340B Steering Committee of same. Develops and/or updates 340B policies and procedures whenever there is clarification to interpretation, or change in the rules, regulations, or guidelines to 340B requirements. Reviews 340B policies and procedures annually. Shares expertise and provides training, education, and communication to staff and Program participants regarding 340B Program compliance. Establishes understanding and relationships with Finance and Information Services departments to monitor changes that could affect 340B qualification including changes in the points of service position on the Medicare cost report, changes in institutional ownership or related relationships (i.e. joint ventures, etc.) and changes or negative trends in disproportionate patient percentage under the Medicare Disproportionate Share Hospital adjustment. Ensures that written agreements between covered entities and contract pharmacy are in accordance with HRSA’s Contract Pharmacy Services Guidelines (75 Fed. Reg. 10272, Mar. 5. 2010) and that auditable records are maintained to demonstrate compliance. Oversees compliance with 340B program requisites as delineated in strikeexisting/strike hospital and pharmacy department policies. strike/strike Oversees all points of service where 340B participation occurs to ensure policies and procedures are followed, entities qualify, and patients qualify as covered patients. Oversees purchasing records for cost centers with 340B accounts to ensure the Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) exclusion rule is followed and that “cherry-picking” either by area, patient, or drug is not occurring. Oversees utilization and 340B purchasing records to ensure software and/or tools are functioning properly. Oversees the 340B Coordinator staff; including reviewing self-audits, establishing priorities, validating recommendations, and optimizing resource allocation. Oversees internal and external audits or compliance assessments, as needed and recommends and implements action plans to correct 340B compliance deficiencies, if indicated. Oversees audit data and related reports from each participating area or covered entity to st1:lists wt=onassure/st1:lists consistent processes are followed and to continually improve related policies and procedures for 340B throughout the institution. Develops, implements and leads the strategic plan for the 340B Contract Pharmacy program and identifies growth opportunities, develops business plans and implements strategies to grow the 340B Contract Pharmacy program. Thoroughly reviews all proposed new and renewal contracts for accuracy, appropriateness, compliance and benefit to Brown University Health.Coordinates with Brown University Health legal and contracting for execution. Performs regular (e.g. quarterly/semi-annualnnual) business reviews of Brown University Health Contract Pharmacy Agreements (CPAs) to ensure contracts are fulfilled and financial opportunities are maximized. Develops and presents executive-level reports, analyses and presentations as is necessary for reporting requests, request of resources, compliance concerns or any other business need. Develops quarterly and annual 340B participation reports and dashboards to clearly document utilization, savings, exceptions, or discrepancies and present to the 340B Steering Committee. Coordinates quarterly 340B Steering Committee meetings. Collaborates with prime vendor and pharmacy leadership to routinely review 340B formulary pricing, potential alternatives, and possible additional savings as a result of GPO formulary and 340B prime vendor program. Works directly with manufacturers as well as through GPO and peer professional relationships to determine companies that offer 340B or equivalent pricing and develop strategies to st1:lists wt=onmaximize/st1:lists such participation. Collaborates with the Pharmacy Information Systems/Technology Team and Brown University Health Information Services changes for new st1:lists wt=onproducts/st1:lists, st1:lists wt=onproduct/st1:lists changes, etc., that st1:lists wt=oninsure/st1:lists both the accuracy of the utilization report and the efficiency and accuracy of the charge process. Collaborates with Pharmacy Finance Manager, Pharmacy Finance team and Brown University Health Finance team to ensure accuracy and quality of financial data reported, as it relates to the 340B program.Scrutinizes data and provides business reasons for trends as well as instituting any necessary corrective action plans. Collaborates with the Manager, Pharmacy Supply Chain; Manager, Safety, Quality and Informatics; and Brown University Health Information Services to maintain computerized systems, split-billing software programs and specialized equipment and technologies utilized in operations related to the 340B Program. Maintains knowledge and expertise on Section 340B rulings and related interpretations, including new and proposed regulations, current trends and issues. Monitors 340B guidance and rule changes and assesses potential organizational impact of 340B changes. Maintains knowledge of policy changes that effect the 340B Program, including, but not limited to, HRSA/OPA rules and Medicaid changes. Informs 340B Steering Committee of same. Attends national 340B conferences; routinely monitors 340B Health, Apexus, and Office of Pharmacy Affairs (OPA) publications and websites as well as the professional media, literature, and peers to st1:lists wt=onassure/st1:lists the institution has the latest information regarding interpretations, rulings, suggestions, and advanced ideas for improving participation.
