Position Summary

The Patient Access Technician (PAT) is an exciting opportunity at MultiCare, responsible for ensuring accurate patient admission and registration. This intermediate-level clerical position will allow you to apply your professional service-orientation, good judgment and independent thinking in your daily work functions.

Responsibilities

• You will assure complete and accurate patient admissions/registrations according to organization policy and procedures and regulatory requirements
• You will obtain inpatient bed assignments and processes inpatient admission, including arm banding, addressograph plate, and completion of necessary forms
• You will pre-admit all scheduled inpatient, outpatients and ambulatory patients to facilitate a smooth and speedy admission/registration process
• You will obtain direct admit information and enter a reservation in the computer system in order to notify other areas
• You will complete comprehensive bedside or telephone interviews with the patient, relative, or their representative to obtain pertinent demographic insurance and/or third-party liability information
• You will perform eligibility verification and resolves any discrepancies, determine the need for financial assistance recommendation and application, referring to the Financial Counselor where necessary

Requirements

• Graduate of a health vocational program such as Patient Access, Medical Assistance Medical Billing & Insurance

OR

• One (1) year of experience performing any combination of admitting, Health Unit Coordinator, patient registration, customer service or billing duties required; healthcare setting preferred

Position Summary

The Mental Health Associate II is responsible for providing a safe, supportive and therapeutic environment while providing direct observation for an assigned patient experiencing confusion, suicidal ideation, or other psychiatric condition requiring close supervision. This position works in conjunction with the Registered Nurse assigned to the patient.

Responsibilities

• Observes assigned patient, maintaining a direct line of vision to the patient at all times and communicates unusual occurrences immediately to the nurse responsible for the patient
• Assists with maintaining a safe and hazard free environment by observing and documenting patient behavior, conducting patient room searches, reporting unsafe conditions, implementing safety interventions and applying appropriate emotional support.
• Orients the patient and patient's family to the facility and the policies and procedures Documents patient care activities
• Provides appropriate interventions immediately if the patient is attempting to participate in an unsafe activity e.g. climbing out of bed, attempting to ambulate without assistance, pulling at lines or tubes, displaying aggressive behavior; and seeks assistance as necessary
• Changes bed linens tidies room and empties trash as needed
• Provides direct patient care under the direction of a licensed nurse
• Maintains clean and orderly utility rooms

• High School Diploma
• Current BLS Certification
• Current Washington State Certified Nurse Assistant license required

Position Summary

The Home Health and Hospice Outreach Coordinator is responsible for establishing and cultivating relationships with area providers for the purpose of profitably growing Home Health and Hospice Services for MultiCare. A urogynecologist is a highly specialized fellowship trained physician who focuses on the care of women with pelvic floor disorders. These disorders can include urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and other conditions that affect the pelvic floor and bladder. This physician is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing pelvic floor disorders in women. This role involves both surgical and non-surgical treatments, patient education, and collaboration with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat pelvic floor disorders such as urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and fecal incontinence.
• Perform surgical procedures to correct pelvic floor disorders, including minimally invasive and robotic surgeries.
• Develop and implement treatment plans that may include medication, physical therapy, and lifestyle modifications.
• Educate patients about their conditions and treatment options.
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers and multidisciplinary teams, including primary care physicians, physical therapists, Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgeons, Gynecologic oncology, and other specialists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in urogynecology.

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $48.15 - $90.83 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
