Job Duties:

The ideal candidate will have prior RN experience in a hospital setting. Case Management experience is preferred and not required.
The successful candidate must be available to work on-site at Geisinger Medical Center (GMC).

Position Details:
Assesses, plans, implements, coordinates, monitors and evaluates all options and services with the goal of optimizing the patient or member's health status. Manages utilization and practice metrics to further refine the delivery of care model to maximize clinical, quality, and fiscal outcomes.
- Integrates evidence-based clinical guidelines, preventive guidelines, protocols, and other metrics in the development of treatment plans that are patient-centric, promoting quality and efficiency in the delivery of healthcare for the identified population.
- Develops systems of care that monitor progress and promote early intervention in acute care situations.
- Assists with the design, implementation, and evaluation of the advanced patient centered care model.
- Assesses the healthcare, educational and psychosocial needs of patients or members.
- Designs an individualized plan of care and fosters a team approach by working collaboratively with the patient or member, family, primary care provider, and other members of the health care team to ensure coordination of services.
- Continuously evaluates laboratory results, diagnostic tests, utilization patterns and other metrics to monitor quality and efficiency results for assigned population.
- Works to appropriately apply benefits and utilization management serving as a resource to the patient or member and healthcare team.
- Maintains required documentation for all case management activities.
- Collects required data and utilizes this data to adjust the treatment plan when indicated.

Patient population includes any patient admitted to Baptist Hospital, age 5 years to geriatrics. Assesses the vascular system according to the exam ordered. Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the cerebrovascular, peripheral vascular and abdominal vascular systems.
Records an accurate medical history, indication for exam, and a physical evaluation according to the exam ordered.
Performs and documents routine calibrations, inspections, and maintenance of all equipment.
Demonstrates proficiency while performing vascular procedures
Annual completion of competency validation, safety training, and OSHA requirements.
Performs Quality Improvement duties in accordance to IAC, JCAHO, hospital and department guidelines.
Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required:
Graduate of an allied health field program.Associate Degree programpreferred.
Must be registered or be an eligible candidate for registry in Vascular Ultrasound through the following: Registry through either the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) OR Cardiovascular Credentialing International as a Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) within 3 months of hire.
Applicants who are registered in another ultrasound registry, such as, RDMS-AB, RDMS, RDCS, or RCS must obtain their RVT or RVS within 9 months of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 2 weeks of hire,
Graduates of an accredited vascular ultrasound program must be registered within 3 months of hire.

The Brenner Pediatric Emergency department is composed of 24 beds with two of those being our dedicated Trauma Bays. The emergency department specializes in treating children up to age of 17 with a broad spectrum of illness and injuries including orthopedic, respiratory, cardiac, chronic illness, abuse, psychiatric care and of course trauma. We became a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center in 2011 and have continuously upheld this Credential. We see approximately 600 plus traumas including burn activations a year in the department as we are also a dedicated Burn center. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs pre-analytical specimen processing: Receives patient specimens from within the institute and outside institutions.
- Becomes familiar with patient and specimen requirements; stores and transports specimens according to procedures; ensure specimen integrity is preserved at all times.
- Unloads and loads the pneumatic tube system and accurately distributes specimens; does routine and stat specimen delivery runs to BWH laboratories; does specimen pickup runs from clinic locations at DFCI
- Receives specimens into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) by scanning barcodes or manual entry
- Verifies upon receipt that all samples are labeled according to policy and addresses variances according to policies.
- Documents in the LIS any specimen or test cancellations per policy; contacts the appropriate provider or reference laboratories with questions regarding discrepancies with test orders or specimen containers.
- Processes add on tests according to policy
- Processes tests sent out to reference laboratories; communicates with reference labs as needed
- Processes specimens by loading the pre-analytic automation system or via centrifugation, aliquoting, storing, and shipping per test requirements.
- Performs various quality checks to ensure all requests are accurate before dispensing the specimens to the appropriate performing lab.
- Responds to telephone inquiries to assist providers, nurses and other caregivers with lab test, test requirement and result inquiries.
- Performs all duties with accuracy and efficiency to ensure patient care is not compromised.
- Utilizes electronic system for faxed tests results from reference laboratories.
- Reviews pending lists as required; addresses and corrects discrepancies or pending test results by contacting the reference lab and the provider as necessary.
- Processes bone marrows orders and specimens.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

We are a team of 16 perfusionists that provide services to 7 surgeons and we are looking to expand our team! The majority of our cases are performed at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI. Our Team also supports procedures at our sister hospital Aurora Grafton Medical Center.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Performs radiotherapy on site at assigned department.
- Responsible for daily patient care and education. Appropriately involves the patient and their family in care and care decisions. Maintains and demonstrates respect for patient confidentiality and modesty. Explains all treatment and imaging procedures. Arranges daily radiation treatment schedule. Attentive to patient needs and concerns by continuous monitoring of the patient’s physical and physiological response and reactions to treatment and refer patient for appropriate management as needed.
- Administers radiation therapy treatment accurately and safely, following departmental policy and procedure.
- Positions and immobilizes patients according to the treatment plan and effectively evaluates images according to standard guidelines. Mobilizes patients using appropriate mechanical assistive devices, such as ceiling lifts and lateral transfer devices, during the provision of patient care.
- Assesses patient relative data as deemed pertinent to age-specific needs and provides care as described in the department’s policy and procedure manual.
- Participates in the clinical instruction and evaluation of the Radiation Therapy students. Accurately perform and teach all policy, procedure, and QA measures including New Start and Cone Down chart checks, weekly chart checks, scheduling, treatment procedures, image review guidelines, and billing procedures.
Simulation Procedures:
- Explains simulation procedure, including the administration of permanent tattoos for set up purposes.
- Operates equipment and software, including but not limited to CT scanner and software, Treatment planning software (Eclipse), LAP Lasers, IV contrast Power injectors.
- Create immobilization devices, bolus, and accurately documents set up instructions.
- Assists and interacts with all departmental Radiation Therapists, demonstrating the ability to answer all questions and details pertaining to simulation to ensure quality treatment.
- Participates in the IV contrast program, including Patient Screening, and Peripheral IV placement.
- Administers Oral Contrast.
- Assists in scheduling/rescheduling appointments, as needed.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Assists the Lead Radiation Therapist in the efficient operation of the assigned clinical area. Performs daily QA measures to ensure proficient operation of all imaging and treatment equipment. Performs daily shutdown procedures. Assists in organizing team during equipment failures and notifies patients as well as all functional areas of the department. Assists in resolving clinical problems and difficult set-ups.
- Assumes Lead responsibilities in the absence of the Lead Radiation Therapist, when requested. Assists the Chief and Lead Radiation Therapist to ensure coverage for meeting attendance and administrative duties.
- Strives for continuous improvements and technique standardization.
- Assists with the triage of emergent cases and demonstrates the ability to negotiate the scheduling of emergent cases with other care team members.
- Accurately performs all new start QA measures, weekly chart checks, patient scheduling, treatment delivery, image review, and billing procedures involving the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Utilizes the Quality Assurance (QA) program to encompass all aspects of treatment, treatment delivery and quality patient care.
- Accurately documents treatment variances and inconsistencies using the appropriate tools.
- Practices the QA program of each treatment unit and assists with the instruction of new staff members and students as part of orientation.
- Responsible for the safe and accurate utilization of all aspects of the electronic medical record (EMR) and Record and Verify system. Accurately documents all treatment delivery information in the EMR.
- Participates in and appropriately documents the Time Out procedure for every treatment.
- Assists with orientation, teaching, and instructing new staff, students, visitors, and other staff members who are unfamiliar with the department or specific procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Demonstrated competencies for all procedures performed within assigned treatment and/or simulation areas, including but not limited to 3D, IMRT, Align RT and tattoo less workflows, stereotactic related procedures, Adaptive Radiotherapy and contouring, Craniospinal Radiotherapy, Pediatrics, Total Body Irradiation.
- Demonstrated ability to care for patients, including acute inpatients, pediatric patients, and pediatric patients requiring anesthesia.
- Demonstrated ability to perform all aspects of both treatment and simulation.
- Understands the function of all equipment and software, accessories, treatment policies, procedures, and protocols and applies knowledge appropriately. Including but not limited to CT scanner and software, Treatment planning software (Eclipse), LAP Lasers, IV contract Power Injectors.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of growth and development from all life stages, ranging from infancy to geriatric. Able to assess patient relative data as deemed pertinent to age-specific needs and provide care as described in the department’s policy and procedure manual.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the patient functional mobility assessment tool and mobilizes patients using appropriate mechanical assistive devices, such as ceiling lifts and lateral transfer devices, during the provision of patient care.
- In-depth knowledge and demonstrated ability to accurately perform all new start QA measures, weekly chart checks, patient scheduling, treatment delivery, image review, and billing procedures involving the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Advanced knowledge of and ability to accurately perform and teach all policy, procedure, and QA measures including New Start and Cone Down chart checks, weekly chart checks, scheduling, treatment procedures, image review guidelines, and billing procedures.
- Demonstrated proficiency in patient scheduling systems and revenue cycle management.

- Valid BLS certification within 60 days of hire date.

The Assessment Clinician I evaluates individuals seeking behavioral health/substance use treatment, seeks justification for admission, and coordinates level of care expectations with physicians, Assessment Referral Center, personnel, patient care units, and external agencies and develop relationships with community partners by consistently providing quality services. The Assessment Clinician I conducts insurance pre-certifications for individuals evaluated and may provide assessment services for various patient populations including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
UofL Health Medical Staff and Board of Directors under the EMTALA policy consider Assessment Referral Center Clinicians who are employed by the hospital, and qualified to perform emergency screening exams/assessments by education, experience, and demonstrated current competence, as “Qualified Medical Persons” to conduct emergency behavioral health and substance use screening exams.
Essential Functions:
- Evaluates individuals seeking behavioral health/substance use treatment and seeks justification for admission
- Conducts evaluations at local hospitals, UofL Peace Hospital and other community agencies and facilities
- Refers patients to appropriate services and assists in the intake process for those patients admitted
- Determines provisional diagnosis and discusses treatment recommendations with patient, family, and medical providers
- Coordinate’s level of care expectations with physicians, Assessment Referral Center, personnel, patient care units, and external agencies
- Develops relationships with community partners by consistently providing quality services.
- Assess the patient’s psychological, social and treatment needs through analysis of data collected from patients, their families, collateral sources such as school, outpatient therapist, and community providers

Position Title
Position Summary / Career Interest:
The University of Kansas Health System Phlebotomist is a position within the clinical laboratory that is responsible for interpreting orders for lab work from providers within The University of Kansas Health System which are entered in the Hospital Information System and orders from outside providers that are presented as a manual order. The Phlebotomist must be able to interpret these orders and accurately identify the correct tube type for each test.The Phlebotomist follows regulatory, accreditation, safety and hospital standards, policies and procedures, and performs positive patient identification for each patient prior to blood draw and confirming patient identification after labeling the tubes. In the ambulatory setting, the Phlebotomist presents labeled tubes to the patient to confirm proper labeling. In the in-patient setting, the Phlebotomist matches the labeled tubes with the patient's wristband.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Performs blood draws by venipuncture according to standard protocol, ensuring patient safety and quality specimen collection.
- Performs specimen collection using appropriate techniques and adhering to requirements. Provides patients and/or care providers with instructions and necessary materials for specimen collection
- Provides immediate patient care if patient exhibits sign of a post-venipuncture reaction, typically vaso-vagal.
- Pro-actively assesses patient presentation and escorts patient to draw room with recliner if patient is an adolescent or young adult or states that they typically have a reaction to having their blood drawn.
- Performs data entry in applicable information systems in compliance with departmental and organizational policies
- Demonstrates knowledge of specimen collection techniques and requirements.

- Receives samples in LIS, prints bar code labels and affixes labels to specimens. Enters outside orders in LIS when copy of outside order is scanned into HIS.
- Consults Phlebotomy Coordinator, Supervisor or Lab Leadership when appropriate if situation requires assistance
- Provides assistance to nursing staff when requested.
- Performs specimen processing duties such as aliquoting urine and separating blood samples when required for testing.
- Understands pre-analytical variables that can impact test results: Container Type, Time, Temperature, Centrifugation, labeling. Able to determine appropriateness of specimens for addon testing
- Responds to telephone inquiries and provides customer service to the end caller by addressing their needs and troubleshooting.
- Instructs, orients and mentors students, employees, patients and other health care providers as applicable.
- Maintains an adequate inventory of supplies

- 1)Collects all referrals from medical staff daily and obtains any necessary approvals from attendings.
- 2)Works in all aspects of the referral process, including processing referrals for patients based on primary care physician orders and follow up specialists service recommended.
- 3)Generates necessary correspondence or calls to patients, physicians and office staff, managed care organizations or vendors requesting additional information and requirements for referral authorization.
- 4)Communicates with appropriate Physician, nursing staff and patients regarding follow-up status of referrals.
- 5)Prepare correspondence, input referral information in the automated system, collects additional medical necessity supporting documentation and provide to appropriate parties for approval.
- 6)Attend PHO and other vendor meetings as required to discuss changes in processing requirements.

The unit typically has 11–12 patients per day with an average stay of about three days, and offers supportive nurse‑to‑patient ratios: 2:1 in the ICU (with some 1:1), 3:1 for stepdown, and 4:1 for telemetry, plus a 12:1 NA ratio. Nurses work closely with intensivists, specialty providers, and 24/7 virtual critical care support. We seek organized, team‑oriented nurses with strong critical‑thinking skills who want to care for high‑acuity patients and respond effectively to rapidly changing conditions; prior ICU or nursing experience is helpful but not required. We’re Looking For:
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by American Heart Association within 6 months of hire.
