The Cardiac Telemetry Unit at High Point Medical Center is an 18 bed intermediate care unit that provides care to patients with a cardiac focus. This unit is responsible for monitoring patient cardiac rhythms, and is comprised of cardiac population patients including; heart failure, post pacemaker insertion, post cardiac catheterization with intervention, post ablation, BiPAP, occasional tracheostomy, post-op carotid endarterectomy, and post-op CABG along with intermediate patients that are transferred out of the Medical and Cardiac ICUs.Â

Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursingÂ
Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practicesÂ
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association Â
Less than 1 year of RN experience

As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Â

Work Shift:

As such, is assigned full authority to provide direction to subordinate managers and directors of the Chief Financial Officer. The position will have particular program focus on general accounting, fixed asset accounting, revenue accounting, payroll, treasury services and accounts payable. This position will be responsible for the strategic planning and execution of physician practice accounting. In addition, this position will ensure the timely completion of all internal and external monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting. Will ensure all financial reporting complies with generally accepted accounting standards and organizational policies. Manages relationships with external customers including but not limited to independent auditors, tax preparers, investment consultants, bankers, bond trustee and bond holders. Acts with the full authority of the Chief Financial Officer in his/her absence.Education & Training:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in
Accounting.
Experience:
A combination of five (5) years of any of the following:
• Public accounting experience auditing hospitals / health systems.
• Controller (or similar type position) in a hospital, large multi-physician
practice, or other healthcare related entity.
• Manager or Director of decision support, budget or reimbursement
functions in a hospital / health system.

This role serves as a subject matter expert and strategic architect for all aspects of risk mitigation, evaluation, risk transfer, and risk financing programs. This position designs and executes innovative self-insurance solutions, develops captive insurance policies and endorsements, and ensures regulatory compliance across complex multi-state requirements (AZ, CO, WY, WA, and expanding markets) for workers compensation, auto liability, and other self-insured programs. With enterprise-wide accountability, this position maintains self-insurance program continuity, drives operational excellence, and identifies strategic process improvements that enhance organizational performance outcomes.Â

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Provides strategic leadership and direction for the self-insurance/captive management function and team by recruiting, developing, and retaining top talent through comprehensive hiring, training, performance management, and workflow optimization. Drives organizational resilience by building robust talent pipelines and succession plans for mission-critical self-insurance functions, ensuring business continuity, sound financial stewardship and operational excellence. Serves as a key strategic partner in shaping and executing departmental goals and objectives that align with enterprise priorities. Accountability for ensuring all strategic initiatives and objectives are achieved with precision, timeliness, and measurable impact, positioning the team as a cornerstone of organizational success.
2. Develops and executes enterprise-wide self-insurance strategy aligned with Banner Health's overall risk management objectives and financial goals, with direct impact on organizational liability exposure across all facilities. This includes development and oversight of the Banner Indemnity, Ltd. (BIL) policies and endorsements. Revise existing and implement new programs when needed. Make recommendations and work closely with the actuaries, captive managers, and regulatory agencies. Work collaboratively with department leadership and executive team to promote the understanding of the self-insurance program. Provide education on Banner’s self-insured program to Risk Management staff and other Banner Health employees when needed. Establishes and administers process for risk transfer and risk assumption. Analyze the benefits of risk transfer versus risk retention or a combination of both. Assist with the development of a funding mechanism for the captive insurance program and the funding allocation model for the system.
3. Reviews and responds to financial responsibility statutes applicable to hospitals and other entities governed by the states where Banner Health is self-insured. This position is responsible for filing annual and quarterly reports for Arizona and Colorado, Wyoming and Washington and any other state in which Banner is or becomes self-insured. This position provides the required information and cooperates with any state audit of Banner self-insured workers compensation program. Supervise and analyze the collection of exposure and loss information for actuarial analysis. Lead and support internal and external audits by writing narratives and coordinating with the captive manager to gather and compile requested policy information, premium allocation and captive practices.
4. Develops and implements a comprehensive underwriting program including but not limited to policies, processes and procedures. Oversees and manages the underwriting of prior acts policies for physicians and other policies as needed. Develops and calculates premiums and federal excise tax for various policies. Formulates recommendations for insurance coverages for physicians and captive policies. Articulates strategy to management regarding the policies written for the captive. Address state and federal regulatory requirements related to self-insurance.
5. Serves as primary subject matter expert and strategic advisor to senior leadership and captive board on all self-insurance matters, leading board presentations and providing recommendations that influence organizational risk strategy. Oversee the development, coordination, and distribution of board materials for the captive insurance program, ensuring timely delivery of accurate and comprehensive information to board members. Coordinate all aspects of semi-annual board meetings, including agenda development, logistics, and stakeholder engagement.
6. Establishes and defines strategic processes and frameworks for self-insurance operations across the organization. Responsibilities extend across organizational lines, requiring extensive interaction and involvement throughout the facilities. Provides executive oversight and strategic direction for all self-insurance regulatory compliance across multiple states ensuring adherence to complex and evolving state-specific requirements while maintaining operational efficiency. Establishes and promotes teamwork and collaboration between senior leaders, sponsors, individuals, departments and the entire organization in the development of system wide standardized operational practice, strategy, and initiatives.
7. Designs, implements, and continuously innovates comprehensive risk assessment programs, including the physician eligibility program ensuring consistent and comprehensive evaluation of physician candidates for professional liability and malpractice risk. Partner closely with recruiting, credentialing, medical staff services and other key stakeholders to facilitate timely reviews, communicate program requirements, and support informed hiring decisions. Maintain strong cross-functional relationships to ensure ongoing awareness, alignment, and effective administration of the program.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess the knowledge typically demonstrated through the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Legal Studies, Business or a related field and must have 7-10 years of experience in risk management.
Excellent working knowledge of PCs and software, including word-processing, spreadsheet, query/report writing and presentation applications. Must have a high level of experience in working as a functional “super-user” of an application in a similar department environment or providing consultative input for application usage or design.
Must have excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with departmental personnel and assist customers with inquiries. Must have experience anticipating and responding to the needs of internal and external customers, building partnerships with management, staff and stakeholders, managing problems and situations where uncertainty is inherent, fostering the development of cohesive teams, anticipating emerging trends for organizational applicability and appropriateness.

The Banner Gateway Stem Cell Transplant Surgical Oncology Unit is a very busy, 24-bed unit that specializes in the care of oncology patients. Responsibilities include: caring for patients from diagnosis to treatment of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiation treatment, symptom management, palliative (supportive) care, clinical trials, and care of some stem cell patients. A high percentage of our patients have a diagnosis of leukemia, but we care for patients with all types of cancer. We are affiliated with MD Anderson Cancer Center and work closely with them to ensure our patients get the best cancer care possible. Many of our patients have extended stays to complete their course of treatment. This allows us to really get to know each patient and their family members, which helps to form a therapeutic relationship/bond. Our nurses find this aspect of the job very rewarding.

This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. Including, but not limited to: Overview of stem cell transplant and cellular therapy processes/procedures. Recognition of common transplant and cellular therapy complications. Common preparative regimens and high-dosage therapy administration, management of fevers, prophylactic antibiotics, antiviral and antifungal prophylaxis. GVHD prophylactic and /or treatment regimens, and administration guidelines for medication and blood components. Administration of Cellular Therapy products. Care interventions to manage cellular therapy complications, including, but not limited to: Cytokine release syndrome, tumor lysis syndrome, cardiac dysfunction, respiratory distress, neurologic toxicity, renal and hepatic failure and disseminated intravascular coagulation.
9. Interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, concerning the health care of the patient. Education Qualifications
- Bachelors or Associates degree is required or must have completed an accredited radiology technology program.
- 1 year experience is preferred.
- WI: Licensed Radiographer issued by the WI Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) is required.
- IL: Accreditation (or Temporary Accreditation) in Medical Radiation Technology issued by the IL Department of Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) is required.
- Certification/registration or registry-eligible as a Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography (RT(R)) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required. Certification/registration must be obtained within 12 months.

Compliance Operations - VUHJob Summary:
The Facility Compliance and Privacy Officer (FCPO) is responsible for coordinating local compliance program activities at assigned local hospitals and their related departments. The FCPO works under the joint general direction of the Office of Compliance and Corporate Integrity (OCCI) and the VUMC Privacy Office (Privacy), with a strong dotted line to hospital leadership, to maintain and continuously promote compliance with VUMC policies and applicable regulations, prevent or detect potential violations of fraud, waste, abuse and privacy requirement improve effective compliance efforts consistent with approved program Work Plans. The FCPO serves as a key coordinating and standardization function for VUMC’s overall regulatory compliance work plans..
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides guidance to assigned facilities and related entities regarding the VUMC compliance program and policies and procedures to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and other governmental requirements.Â
- Responsible for effective coordination of facility compliance efforts as laid out in VUMC’s compliance and privacy work plans or as otherwise assigned. Performs periodic walkthroughs, audits, or other monitoring to ensure compliance with VUMC regulatory policies and data privacy and security practices and to promote awareness of the VUMC compliance program and VUMC privacy practices and reinforce VUMC’s Speak Up expectations and non-retaliation policies for those who raise any concern;Â
- Heads or staffs the Facility Compliance Committee following VUMC standards approved by the General Regulatory Compliance Committee; Prepare summary reports of committee activities and other local compliance and privacy efforts for presentation to the General Regulatory Compliance Committee, Information Privacy and Security Executive Committee, or other compliance and privacy oversight groups.
- Provides advice to facility’s executive leadership, directors, and staff on ethics and compliance and privacy concerns. Assists with interpreting and applying the Code of Conduct (Code), VUMC policies, and other regulatory requirements within their scope.
- Conducts investigations resulting from concerns raised to leadership, to OCCI and/or Privacy Office directly, or to the VUMC Integrity Line. Investigates compliance related concerns, including, but not limited to internal and external ethics cases, HIPAA/HITECH violations, controlled substance discrepancies, and ADA complaints, monitors physician relationships including contracting, payments, and expense reimbursement, and manages a portfolio of privacy-related inquiries, complaints, and concerns to ensure they are handled appropriately and in a timely manner.
- Identify any local trends related to compliance and privacy matters. Develop strategies to operationalize compliance with regulations and assists OCCI and Privacy Office with benchmarking local facility compliance efforts against applicable best practices;
- Assists in the resolution of major compliance related issues and/or compliance efforts. Alerts OCCI and Privacy immediately on urgent matters and coordinates local response to such matters.
TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES
- Computer/Electronic Knowledge: Knowledge of the use of applications and tasks on computers and other electronic devices as part of regular work responsibilities. It includes knowledge of software such as word processors, spreadsheets, text editors, and graphics and experience with the electronic medical records (i.e., Epic) and EMR monitoring software.

- Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation which may include use of therapeutic assistive devices, proper positioning, range of motion and special transferring as indicated.
- Measures and documents blood pressures, TPRs (Temperature, Pulse, Respiration), I & O (Intake and Output), daily weights, and other patient data as requested. Documents accurately in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Performs purposeful rounding under direction of RN and promptly communicates observations, concerns, and needs of patient/family to RN. Documents appropriately.
- Participates in admission, transfer and discharge process under supervision of RN including room set up, orientation to room, removing linen, and proper management of patient belongings. Ensures patient call light is always in reach of patient and answers call-lights promptly.
- Collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated using approved process for accurate specimen labeling and identification. Maintains competency as required.
- Completes various errands as directed including pick-up and delivery of trays, charts, specimens, and reports. Maintains and orders stock for nursing area. Cleans equipment and work areas.
- Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties which require lifting and pushing/pulling while utilizing proper technique and assistive devices. Performs tasks related to nutritional needs of patient under direction of RN to include diet review, tray set up/removal, proper positioning and diet selection.
- Performs tasks related to maintaining skin integrity to include proper repositioning and skin care. Ensures special patient supplies and appliances are provided and maintained such as TED hose and sequential compression devices.
- Under the direction of RN and as determined by site/unit requirements, may be required to remove IVs, provide post mortem care, and bladder scans.
- Practices within policies and procedures of infection prevention by demonstrating hand hygiene and knowledge of sterile and aseptic procedures, proper disposal of contaminated materials and utilizing proper attire when in direct contact with patients in isolation.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.

Our team consists of Intensivists, advanced practice nurses, critical care nurses, and respiratory therapists. Daily multidisciplinary rounds include the intensivist, advanced practice nurse, ICU nurse, case manager, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, infectious disease, and a nurse leader. SWAT team consists of intensivist, advance practice nurse and charge nurse available as bedside consult. ICU charge nurse responds to codes, and RRT’s. Each shift begins with a safety huddle to look back and forward 24 hours to review safety and quality concerns.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
