Where You Will Work:
The Lexington Medical Center Emergency Department focuses on patient care, nursing satisfaction, safety, and teamwork as it continues to grow. The department offers 25 beds and includes specialized areas for core emergency care, super track services, and behavioral health support. Our primary focus is to provide patient-centered care while efficiently stabilizing patients and ensuring appropriate management of their disposition. As a hospital dedicated to serving the community, we offer a comprehensive 45-bed medical-surgical unit, a post-surgical area with a focus on orthopedics and urology, and an expanding critical care unit. While upholding the approachable environment characteristic of a community hospital, we are progressing as part of the Advocate system, implementing advanced technology to deliver essential healthcare services to our patients.
Expectations We’re Looking For:
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS are required within 6 months of hire

The Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit is a state-of-the-art, 24-bed facility dedicated to the treatment of patients recovering from complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions, as well as those requiring post-operative neurosurgical care. State of the art Comprehensive Stroke Center Certified. Recognized as the top 10% in the country for Neurology & Neurosurgery and Stroke care by U.S. News & World Report. Within this unit, highly skilled clinical professionals from various disciplines provide continuous, comprehensive care to patients following intricate neurosurgical procedures or facing life-threatening neurological disorders. We employ a patient-centered approach, offering extensive neurological services that support seamless continuity of care.
Patient-centered care in the Neuro ICU is achieved through effective teamwork, compassion, innovation, education, and research. Our nursing staff are proficient in operating diverse ICU equipment, such as tubes, lines, drains, invasive hemodynamic monitoring devices, and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT). Specialized interventions include management of EVD and SEPS drains, post-thrombolytic care, and post-interventional radiology care.

Supervises hospital or professional coding staff and assists the management team in the day-to-day operations of the department, as it pertains to reimbursement, coding, abstracting, and education. 8. Works with staff to analyze and resolve issues that impact coding and billing.
9. Maintains effective, open and ongoing communication.
10. Extracts, analyzes and reports data to appropriate management team.
11. Serves as a liaison to vendors and provides input and tests information systems.
12. Assists in staff coding, as needed.

3K Medical Observation is a 22-bed observation unit. Our patients are here for a variety of behavioral health reasons requiring hospitalization. On 3K we do cohort most of the children at Levine Children's Hospital with a mental/behavioral health diagnosis. However, because we are a medical observation unit, we can also care for patients with a 1-2 day stay in the hospital. Majority of these diagnosis include IV hydration, rule out sepsis, ortho observation, and surgical observation.

The Satellite department consists of 4 Med/Surg, Medical Telemetry units, totaling 34 beds. Our units are dedicated to delivering safe and quality care to patients seamlessly, while optimizing patient flow and capacity by alleviating pressure on the Emergency Department. We cater to a diverse patient population experiencing a wide array of acute diagnoses, including (but not limited to) chest pain, pneumonia, electrolyte imbalances, diabetes, cellulitis, trauma injuries, and mental health instabilities.

Position Purpose
The Environmental Care Technician performs housekeeping duties for the hospital’s Environmental Services Department.
As an “Environmental Care Technician” you will:
Be assigned to work with Assistant Director of Environmental Services or the Housekeeping Supervisor on a regular basis.
Environmental Care Technician is guided by basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and procedures, operation and use of department equipment and supplies.
Responsible for the timely, courteous, and competent services rendered in a safe manner for patients, visitors, and hospital staff.
Accepts additional assignments related to support functions as is needed to provide service excellence to patients, visitors, and hospital staff.
On evenings and weekends could also receive direction from the Supervisor as assigned by the Assistant Director of Environmental Services.
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience: Some on-the job experience as a housekeeper in Healthcare, Hotel, or Commercial cleaning preferred.
Knowledge: Ability to read and comprehend instructions in writing and orally.
Skills: Ability to read and write information in English regarding Duty list, Instructional information, and policies and procedures.
Ability to use alphanumeric pager and telephone.
Able to work independently.
Pay Range: $18.00 - $21.42
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.

Performs cardiac monitoring for all telemetry and hard-wire monitored patients on applicable unit, identifying changes, addressing alarms to identify any abnormal heart rhythm variation, and reporting the patient’s cardiac rhythm, and or life-threatening cardiac events to medical and nursing staff.
2. May analyze, interpret and measure ECG strip waveform displays and documents each patient’s rhythm along with any changes and reports these changes according to established guidelines and protocols.
3. Utilizes Wave Strip Export to upload patient’s cardiac rhythms/events to corresponding chart in EPIC.
4. Monitors pulse oximetry for assigned patient population as applicable.
5. Utilizes Epic/Telemetry Dashboard to ensure accuracy of patient Admissions/Discharges/Transfers.
6. Assembles a telemetry pack, battery, and electrodes for nursing staff.Ensures necessary inventory of clean packs and availability of batteries.
7. Monitors equipment and assists with trouble shooting ofmalfunctioning equipment with proper notification (i.e.: Healthcare Technology Supervisor and Nurse Manager).
8. Responsible for greeting and admitting functions upon patients’ arrival to the department.
9. Performs routine clerical operations of unit to ensure smooth communication and functioning including intrahospital communications, admit/transfer/discharge/follow up care information, mail distribution, and maintenance of office supplies.
10. Organizes and maintains patient records and appropriate department records to help ensure accurate and complete documentation.
11. Coordinate and facilitate ongoing communication to ensure efficient intradepartmental and interdepartmental operations.
12. Welcomes visitors to the department and responds in a helpful and courteous manner to requests for assistance or information.
13. Assists physicians and other individuals by providing requested information about specific patient or department routines in accordance with the hospital’s policy on Release of Patient Information.
14. Coordinates and facilitates ongoing communication to ensure timely, efficient intradepartmental and interdepartmental transportation of patients.
