About the Unit:
The Medical Surgical Orthopedic unit at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s has 30 beds. The Registered Nurse could expect to see a variety of patients recovering from hip and knee replacements, hip fractures, shoulder repairs, back surgeries, and craniotomies as well as general medical/surgical telemetry patients. Med/Surg Ortho is known for being team oriented and having a high success rate for new graduates. RN orientation is individualized to meet the needs of the new hire and their level of nursing experience.

About the job:
The RN, within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, will provide care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. The Staff RN is accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of Mount Carmel Health System.
What you will do:
Assess and evaluate patient care for an assigned group of patients, utilizing evidence-based practice; Assists provider with patient assessment, examinations and treatments; Perform basic medical procedures under the supervision of a provider, including set up of procedures.
Administer medications under the direction of the provider, according to the organization’s standards, policies, procedures, and/or guidelines.
Assist in emergency situations under the direction of the provider
Thoroughly educate and explain procedures to patients and family members (diagnosis, disease process etc.).
Document accurately and completely pertinent assessments, interventions and outcomes for patients in accordance with documentation standards, policies, procedures and/or guidelines.
Assume responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed care givers as appropriate.
What we are looking for:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio
Current BLS/CPR
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage patient care, including delegation to and supervision of other members of the patient care team
Basic computer skills required; prior experience using an EMR for charting preferred

$44.15 - $66.25The Levine Children's Hospital Rehabilitation team at LCH 4P is a 13-bed pediatric inpatient unit dedicated to providing comprehensive physical rehabilitation for children from infancy to 18 years. Our multidisciplinary approach ensures 24-hour physician and nursing care, along with specialized therapies including physical, occupational, speech, and recreational therapy, as well as school support. Our nurses play a vital role in delivering holistic care, from daily living activities and medication administration to advanced procedures like tracheostomy and ventilator care, all while educating and supporting patients, families, and caregivers.
Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital (LCH) has taken the community to another level of service to provide care for the growing population of children in our region. At 259 beds, LCH is the largest children’s hospital between Atlanta and Washington DC. It serves high acuity patients as the flagship children’s hospital within the innovative Atrium Health and offers a full complement of over 125 pediatric subspecialists in over 30 different pediatric specialties. We have 4 pediatric hospitalist teams, a newly expanded 24 bed PICU and 20 bed Cardiac ICU, an 85-bed Level IV NICU, and an inpatient pediatric rehabilitation floor. Levine Children’s Hospital is also Charlotte’s only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center. LCH has been named a Best Children’s Hospital by U.S. News & World Report for 18 consecutive years and is nationally ranked in 7 pediatric specialties. Job Description
Responsible for the direct provision of patient care and for assisting the manager with daily operations to include but not limited to coordination of patient care/outcomes, allocation of human and fiscal resources, communications, patient throughput, program development and oversight, patient, physician and employee rounding, selection, development, and retention of staff, clinical supervision and performance appraisal, performance improvement activities, service recovery and compliance with regulatory agency requirements. Maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the population of patients served.
Essential Functions
- Supports the manager utilizing systematic approaches to enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, nursing service administration and delivery of care in the department
- Assists with interview, selection, and supervision of nursing personnel in the department
- Assists with coordination of communication at regular intervals throughout shifts via staff meetings/huddles to exchange information/ promote dialogue with teammates
- Collaborates with manager to ensure understanding and compliance with federal and state laws, to include healthcare services and practice, while complying with all required regulations and policies
- Rounds on patients, teammates, and physicians at prescribed frequencies to gain insight into patient care, employee, and physician satisfaction and appropriateness of patient care and/or department operations
- Delegates elements of care to appropriate healthcare workers in accordance with applicable legal or policy parameters or principles
- Assists in identifying expected outcomes to provide direction for continuity of care/department operations
- Assists in evaluating progress towards goal attainment/achievement of expected outcomes and disseminates information to teammates involved with the care or the situation
- Performs nursing care, assists with treatments, therapies, procedures, and administers medications as necessary
- Coordinates management of patient flow/throughput and staffing through continuous assessment of volume/acuity needs, utilizing resources available to assist in provision of appropriate staffing resources
Physical Requirements
Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Must speak and understand English fluently. Intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, and touch. Finger dexterity. Critical thinking and ability to concentrate.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Current RN licensure in appropriate state. Minimum two years nursing experience preferred. Previous management experience preferred. BSN required. RN candidates for external hire or internal promotion without BSN must be enrolled in a BSN program within 1 year of Hire/Transfer date and must complete program within 3 years of enrollment in the program. BLS required per policy guidelines. Appropriate professional certification (either clinical or leadership) is required within 1 year of eligibility for professional certification exam. Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required within the department by the nurse leader.

OVERVIEW
Supplemental Staffing: Per-diem employees are used to cover staffing gaps due to absences, vacancies, or increased census, but are not guaranteed hours.
Weekend Hours: The Weekend Differential Zone starts at 11:00 PM on Friday and ends at 11:00 PM on Sunday. To qualify for the weekend premium there must be at least 2 hours in the zone.
GUIDELINES
Scheduling Process:
- After the 4-week schedule (graph) is completed, per diem shift needs are posted in Kronos.
- Per-diem staff are expected to self-schedule via Kronos Advanced Scheduling or contact their manager in areas using Basic Scheduling.
Monthly Commitment:
- Minimum of 24 worked hours per 4-week schedule, working 12 hour shifts.
- At least 12 of these hours must be night shifts (eligible for differential).
- At least 12 of these hours must be weekend hours, if available.
- If they work a 12 hour shift on the weekend at night it will meet the commitment requirement.
Holiday Commitment:
- One winter holiday: Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's
- One other holiday: MLK Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, or Labor Day
- Shifts canceled by the hospital will still count toward holiday commitments.
Cross Department Requirements:
- Per diem scheduling obligations must be met on the employees’ home unit before working in other units.
Failure to Meet Requirements:
- May result in corrective action or status review.
Canceled Shifts:
- Shifts canceled by management will count toward scheduling minimums.
- Working a shift to cover another employee does not count toward required hours.

- Must be approved by the current director/manager.

Evaluates, plans and performs treatments to alleviate physical dysfunction using manual, functional and physical agent modality techniques. Participates in departmental activities to assure smooth operations and facilitate program enhancement.I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Administers therapy evaluations and develops treatment plan for physically, cognitively, developmentally and/or functionally disabled patient populations, including infants and children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics and frail elderly, inpatient and outpatient as assigned.
2. Analyzes and interprets data and assesses individually current functional ability. Researches specific problems as required and makes a differential diagnosis when appropriate. Consults with physician regarding any contradictions or alternative forms of therapy. Assesses patient's progress, as related to their rehabilitation potential.

Provides individualized treatment plans designed to prevent, restore, remediate or compensate for movement dysfunction including therapeutic exercises, progressive ROM, neuromuscular education and strengthening, manual therapy, cardiopulmonary conditioning, wound care, application of physical agent modalities, and functional mobility training. Evaluates need for bracing, supportive and positional equipment.
4. Educates patient, family and other caregivers in therapy program and goals. Participates in patient care meetings, collaborates with team members, assists with discharge planning. Documents care provided in medical record and completes therapy billing.

II. Position Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from accredited PT school or equivalent. Current license to practice physical therapy in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Successful completion of National Physical Therapy Board Examination. Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Position Purpose:
Functions as a professional under the direct and continuous supervision of qualified professional registered nurses and in accordance with established procedures and aseptic principles functions as a first scrub/scrub assistant in selected cases to render quality service to patients of all ages and surgeons during operative procedures.
What you will do:
Assists with the preparation of sterile/unsterile supplies and equipment.
Assumes responsibility for the proper care of all supplies and equipment; transports patients and assists with transferring patients from stretcher to table and vice versa; assists with lifting and positioning patients.
Reports unusual occurrences to the Operating Room Director or designee and contributes to the efficient and productive operations of the Operating Room.
Cross-training between Main OR and Ambulatory Unit.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology.
Licensure: Certified CST from NBSTSA
Certification: BLS from American Heart Association or Red Cross required. New Requirement as of 10/1/2023, uncertified Techs have 18 months to provide proof of certification. THOfNE gives 1 chance to pass licensure exam.
Experience: Minimum one year of scrub experience preferred.

Histotechnologist are members of the laboratory team who prepare tissue specimens for evaluation by preparing glass stained slides of human tissue for microscopic examination. A Pathologist then uses these complex techniques to establish and confirm a patient diagnosis. - Orient tissue samples during embedding process, performs microtomy, stains tissue samples, and performs manual and automated histochemical stains; may perform Immunohistochemical analysis and digital imaging.

- Associates Degree or 60 semester hours from an accredited college or university with a combination of 12 semester hours in biology and chemistry and 1 full year of recent experience in histopathology as defined by ASCP to include fixation, embedding/microtomy, staining, and laboratory operations.
- Technical/Professional Training/ Degree in Histotechnology
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science Biologic science, chemistry, physical science or medical technology
Required Licensure and Certification
- Histotechnologist (HTL) - American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP) registration (or eligible with the requirement to pass the boards within 6 months of hire. within 180 Days OR
- Histotechnician (HT) - American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP) registration (or eligible with the requirement to pass the boards within 6 months of hire.

1. Assists in coordinating activities involved in the preparation of department correspondence to facilitate on-going communications and efficient departmental operations in an accurate, neat, and timely manner as assigned.
2. Reconciles monthly budget with monthly analysis report and responsibility statements; updates cost center budget tallies; sends invoices to AP for payment; completion of purchase orders and requisitions; securing quotes for capital budget; completion of expense forms and sending to AP; and completing credit card statements and sending to Accounting.
3. Updates Policies & Procedures annually, along with all departmental information for each area..
4. Provides support to employee with forms and information updates.
5. Screens and refers incoming phone calls and department visitors to ensure that accurate and timely department communications is facilitated and that the unit is presented in a positive manner.
6. Prepares, maintains and processes proper levels of office supply inventory.
7. Maintains the schedule for the conference rooms, scheduling staff and committee meetings, conference calls, webex needs, etc. Notifies all parties of the time and place and prepares agendas and minutes as needed. Prepares monthly calendar and/or maintains appointment calendars, documenting accurate times and contacting appropriate individuals.
8. Functions as Payroll representative for the department. Coordinates all payroll and leave reports of department staff to expedite accurate and timely processing.
9. Schedules travel arrangements.
