RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for answering phones, scheduling appointments, checking patients in and out from their appointment and coordinating specialist appointments for patients
Collects patient balances, copays, and credit cards at time of service
Reviews lists of patients who need appointments and calls to schedule when due
Verifies demographics and insurance carrier information for every patient
Assists patients with Kiosk sign in
Complies with OSHA and DOH standards
Schedules, coordinates, and tracks STAT patient referrals and pre-authorizations
Adheres to Brown Health Medical Group Primary Care guidelines for protecting patients’ demographic, clinical and financial information
Provides superior customer service and outstanding patient care
Attends meetings/workshops as they relate to current position and office workflows
Performs other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
BASIC KNOWLEDGE:
High school diploma required. Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology required. Must be very organized. Must have excellent communication and customer service skills and demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of patients and families.
EXPERIENCE:
Six months' experience in a medical office.

Job Summary:
As a critical member of the Supply Chain team, the Supply Chain Technician ensures the right supplies and equipment are available at the right time for the patient care team.
Through optimizing supply chain processes, you contribute to improved operational efficiency, reduced cost, and better patient outcomes.
You will receive and unpack deliveries and check their conditions. In this role, you will process bills of lading, packing slips, logs and receiving reports. You will also store materials in designated locations and move items from the loading dock to appropriate storeroom locations.

- Maintains assigned area in a clean and aseptic manner.

- Follows all current Joint Commission / CMS regulations pertaining to Environment of Care and Cleaning requirements.

Physical and Environmental Demands

Heavy Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible. Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste. This position provides pharmaceutical care to patients, serves as a resource and drug information specialist to medical, pharmacy, nursing staff and allied healthcare providers. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age and disease state of the patients being served. CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Critically evaluates medication therapy and makes recommendations to improve patient medication regimens. Ensures appropriate and cost effective drug therapy. Areas of focus may include but are not limited to evaluating adherence, evaluating and addressing drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, contraindicated medications, inappropriate therapeutic regimens, adverse drug reactions, pharmacokinetics, disease state management and rational effective medication regimens. Accurately and completely documents patient assessment data and clinical interventions.
2. Functions as a therapeutic consultant in areas that may include rational and appropriate use of medications, medication adherence, clinical pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, disease state management and nutrition.
3. May participate in Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee (P&T) activities, evaluate and recommend medications for formulary inclusion, and prepares Formulary evaluations for P&T consideration, as appropriate. May participate in the Quality Council activities including quarterly meetings to discuss quality concerns to improve patient safety and workflow. Quality Council members work with the Clinical Oversight body for approval on quality related process improvement projects.
4. Applies the principles of continuous quality improvement consistent with job expectations. Incorporates quality improvement principles into other activities and projects (i.e. data collection, documentation). Develops criteria for drug use evaluations, medication use indicators and disease-based evaluations. Provides oversight and assists with the development and implementation of evidence-based medication guidelines/protocols. Designs and implements medication monitoring guidelines and programs for both staff and clinical pharmacists.
5. The Clinical Pharmacist assesses the patient at the initiation of drug therapy, develops a patient care plan and drug monitoring regimen and monitors the patient according to the care plan throughout the course of therapy. Verifies medication orders in the computer system for appropriateness and accuracy and dispenses medications in an accurate and timely manner in appropriate quantities based on stability, compatibility of the drug and specific needs of the patient. Documents in the patient clinical record all recommendations and interventions communicated to the physician.
6. Coordinates the drug preparation work of pharmacy technician and checks the accuracy of that work according to literature guidelines.
7. Communicates with the patient, physician, nursing staff, pharmacists and other members of the health care team regarding medication treatment, patient status, response to therapy and clinical objectives to ensure clinical outcome is met. Monitors patient response and documents interventions as appropriate.
8. The Clinical Pharmacist will also be required to take after hours calls as indicated.
9. Participates in all aspects of medication use, including (1) selection, procurement and storage, (2) ordering or prescribing, (3) dispensing, (4) administering and (5) monitoring of all medications utilized. Internal customers may include Patients, Nurses, Licensed Independent Practitioners, Nursing Directors, Department Directors, Administrators and other health care team members for the purpose of integrating services, improving patient care and ensuring effective communication systems. External customers may include local, state, and national pharmacy organizations, Joint Commission, State Board of Pharmacy, colleagues and peers, educational institutions and pharmaceutical representatives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
Requires current and unrestricted pharmacy licensure in the applicable state of practice within 90 days of hire date.
Incumbents in Arizona are also required to provide the AZ Board of Pharmacy Wallet Card at time of hire.
May be required to possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under the company’s auto insurance policy.

I. Under the general direction of the Registration Services Supervisor, Manager, and/or Director, performs a variety of complex duties for the registration of patients.II. Major Responsibilities:
1. Accurately obtains and enters demographic, insurance and other related patient information into the computer-based patient registration/scheduling system. Ensures all patient and/or witness signatures are collected on appropriate paperwork such as HIPAA, Consent to Treat, etc.
2. Obtains and verifies patient insurance coverage and follows guidelines established by insurers to ensure that pre-authorization, pre-certification, and physician referrals for treatment are obtained prior to patient visits. Follows up to correct discrepancies as required.

4. Schedules and/or arrives Radiology, Lab and basic ancillary service appointments.
5. Arrives and completes Emergency Department and Labor & Delivery demographic and insurance collection
6. Coordinates the provision of multiple services to patients.
7. Collects patient liabilities including deductibles, copays, coinsurances, self-pay payments, cosmetic procedure payments, and patient balances as appropriate, prior to or on the date of service.
8. Performs Surgical Day admissions
9. Performs bed control, transfers, discharges and admissions tasks
10. Provides patient with standard information regarding their personal preparation for scheduled procedures and services.
11. Assesses patients’ financial needs and directs accordingly to financial counseling and refers to appropriate person or area.
12. Provides a variety of related clerical duties, such as retrieving medical and other records, faxing, collating, typing, transcribing, taking and relaying messages, transcribe paper orders when applicable, mailing packets, etc.
13. Maintains accurate and timely records, logs, files and related information as required.
