JOB SUMMARY
This position accepts the responsibility and accountability for the delivery of patient care with the multidisciplinary team while using the nursing process and maintaining professional nursingstandards.
What you will Do:
- Assesses and evaluates the patient’s physical, psychosocial, environmental, spiritual, social and education needs and documents patient/family responses to nursing interventions while working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve desired patient care outcomes. (Adherence to policy, Problem Solving, Teamwork)
- Develops and implements patient’s plan of care, including the discharge plan, based on standards of nursing practice, health center policy, and patient/family needs using clinical/critical thinking skills Reviews and updates the plan of care based on changes in patient’s condition (Problem identification, Problem solving)
- Guides and directs patient care activities for the above-indicated population, by utilizing clinical/critical thinking skills and evidence-based practice (Problem Solving, Problem Identification).
- Provides daily direction and guidance to Licensed Practical Nurse and Nurse Assistant
- Provides, facilitates, and/or implements learning opportunities to meet the educational needs of patient/family by assessing the learning needs and formulating and initiating a teaching plan to meet those needs (Initiative, Adherence to Policy)
- Effectively communicates pertinent patient changes/conditions to colleagues and to multidisciplinary caregivers (Teamwork, Communication).
- Attends and participates in departmental/organizational meetings, in-services and educational opportunities. Department meeting attendance requirement: 80% with 50% in person if department meetings are available by webinar. (Communication/Adherence to Policy)
- Serves as a steward for the hospital’s human and material resources. Meets productivity expectations of unit/department as defined by unit manager. Utilizes and maintains appropriate supplies in department. Supports staffing needs for patient care in multiple units, as needed, while being flexible with schedule and hours. (Teamwork, Adherence to Policy, Adaptability)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current RN licensure in the state of Iowa.
- New Grads!
- Associate Degree in Nursing or graduate from an accredited RN program required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Previous experience in acute care preferred.
- Preferred certification in CCRN. (from the Magnet approved certifications)
- Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs.

Position Overview:
The Environmental Service Technician (Building Maintenance) at the St Paul's is responsible for maintaining the physical condition, and functionality of the long-term care facility. This role ensures a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment for residents, staff, and visitors by performing routine maintenance, repairs, and custodial tasks in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Repairs:
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, boilers, and other critical equipment.
- Address and resolve work orders promptly, including minor repairs to fixtures, doors, flooring, and furniture.
- Maintain records of all maintenance and repair activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Facility Operations:
- Monitor and manage building systems, including lighting, heating, cooling, and security.
- Assist in emergency response situations, such as power outages or water leaks.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and fire code regulations.
- Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs and inspections.
Resident and Staff Support:
- Provide prompt and courteous responses to resident and staff maintenance requests.
- Maintain a respectful and professional demeanor when interacting with residents, visitors, and staff.
- Assist with furniture moves, room setups, and event preparation as required.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical training or certification in building maintenance, HVAC, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in building maintenance or a similar role, ideally in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficient in basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective time management and prioritization abilities.
- Physical capability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions.
Certifications and Licenses:
- EPA Section 608 Certification (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (if applicable).

What You’ll Do
In conjunction with the medical plan of care, independently performs systematic and continuous assessment of the physical, emotional, clinical and psychosocial needs of the psychiatric patient and families. Plans and implements appropriate interventions; and evaluates effectiveness and adjusts plan as indicated in a timely manner for the provision of safe and effective care.
Requirements
Current Missouri Registered Nurse license or current Registered Nurse license from a compact state. If a compact license is held, it must be in the nurse’s state of residence.

- Processes transactions accurately and timely as a result of the receiving of physical goods from suppliers, or returned goods from customer departments, stock replenishments or the filling of customer orders.
- Executes transactions inside the management system, and utilizes both PC and RF scanner technologies to process transactions accurately.
- Reviews and verifies all documentation used throughout the process to ensure thoroughness and accuracy.
- Operates all powered and non-powered equipment in a safe manner and transports and stores all goods in a safe manner to prevent damage to the goods.
- Supervises the receiving and distribution of equipment and supplies.
- Ensures that equipment and supplies are handled, stored and maintained in secure environment.
- Removes non-functional equipment and supplies from service and reports problems to the proper department(s) for corrective action.
- Inspects working and storage areas and ensures clean and orderly conditions.
- Works safely; complies with all department, the System and OSHA safety regulations, as well as performs good housekeeping.
- Completes and submits daily the inspection checklist when using any powered piece of equipment (if required by department.)
Ability to work in the patient care areas independently, often under stressful conditions. Ability to support multiple function areas during the shift. Requires lengthy periods of standing and walking. Frequently requires sitting, stooping and stretching to perform job duties. Requires frequent pushing and/or pulling of equipment and supplies. Education: Graduate of a Radiologic Technology Program.

2. Complete physician ordered consults and instructions according to standards of care and document in medical record. Contact the physician regarding any concerns, recommendations, etc.
3. Document NPO/Clear Liquid notes by day five; follow-up until nutrition provided (unless contraindicated).
4. Complete and document calorie counts accurately. Document summary of calorie counts within 24 hours of completion if results warrant nutritional recommendations.
5. Calculate and report results of nitrogen balance and metabolic cart studies accurately and in a timely manner.
6. Complete and document nutrition assessments on high-risk patients according to standards of care; including but not limited to: appropriateness of diet to diagnosis, adequacy of current tube feeding, infant formula, or parenteral nutrition orders; assessment of laboratory values, drug-nutrient interactions, medical history, current nutritional needs, nutrition education needs, care plan development and writing orders in the electronic medical record when nutrition intervention is needed for a patient.
7. The Registered and Licensed Dietitians (RD/LD) at WVUH have been granted Order Writing Privileges (with physician co-signature) which have been approved and established by the WVUH Medical Executive Committee and the WVUH Board of Directors.These privileges may be utilized whenever the physician orders the “MNT Protocol”.This allows the registered dietitian (RD/LD) to order Medical Nutrition Therapies within their scope of practice as defined by the American Dietetic Association and West Virginia Board of Licensed Dietitians (WBOLD).
8. The RD is considered qualified with current registration from the Commission on Dietetic Registration, current licensure through the WVBOLD, and clinical competency as verified initially and through the annual performance appraisal process. (See RD order writing privileges policy for specific guidelines.)
9. Complete and document follow-up to assessments and consults according to standards.
10. Attend local or national meetings/conferences specifically those that physicians request dietitian attendance or those meetings/conferences required to maintain accreditation of hospital programs or foster partnership with other facilities.
11. If applicable, provides guidance and supervise daily activities of nutritional therapy support team, i.e. difficult or unusual diet orders, tube feeding calculations, infant formula calculations. Document potential/actual errors or harmful interactions with patients or staff committed by NCA’s on assigned units where appropriate (i.e. personnel file, medical record, etc.)Provide intervention and participate in disciplinary actions as appropriate.
12. Work with Physicians, Nurse Managers and nursing staff on assigned units to improve medical nutrition therapy to the patient, including diet texture changes, providing appropriate foods/texture for aspiration risk (also work with speech pathologist), timing of medications to prevent drug-nutrient interactions, etc.
13. Act on any patient food complaints, provide alternative selections and/or arrangements. Follow-up with appropriate managers on food quality issues.
14. Review and update clinical rotation assignments annually to reflect changes in practice and feedback from previous interns, unless determined by student's university. Develop and teach classes regarding area of specialization to the interns (i.e. renal nutrition, oncology, nutrition support, etc.).
15. Monitor interns, making certain that they are functioning to standards before leaving unsupervised. Review and co-sign all intern documentation in the medical record. Correct assignments and evaluate progress within 2 weeks of the end of the rotation. Attend intern case study presentations, question interns, evaluate presentation.
16. As requested, develop and present in-services to other health care personnel, food service personnel, and students.
17. As requested, develop and present lectures to community groups.

Position Purpose

What you will do:

Major Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for the delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients using the medication use process. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Perform and supervise patient-specific dosimetry tasks, ensuring safe and accurate radiation treatments. Work alongside dosimetrists, radiation oncologists, radiation therapists and physicists to support treatment planning, simulation, image processing, and treatment delivery. Support and evaluate the implementation of advanced procedures such as IMRT, IGRT, SBRT. Participate in departmental chart reviews, clinical trials, and national protocols, providing necessary documentation.
- Treatment Planning: Responsible for specific disease sites. Collect and analyze patient data and design optimal approaches for treatments. Responsible for basic dose calculation and 2D, 3D, IMRT, SBRT, SRS/SRT using treatment planning software on several different platforms. Interact with radiation oncologists to define target volumes and critical structures. Participate in the implementation of new techniques and treatment modalities for radiation therapy. Participate in clinical research and data submission for clinical trials.
- Leadership and Management: Serve as a member of the dosimetry team, providing expertise in treatment planning. Help with integrating new technologies, including AI-assisted planning and remote dosimetry workflows. Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and committees. May be required to lead specific disease site treatment planning efforts, which include participating in disease site clinical meetings, leading and updating disease site in-services, training and cross training new hires and co-workers, serving as a liaison between physicians and the planning group for a specific disease site
- Teaching, Training, and Research: Provide or delegate training and educational support for dosimetry students, physician residents, physics residents, and radiotherapy students. Keep the dosimetry team informed of departmental policies, procedures, and innovations. When appropriate, participate in research and development projects in collaboration with faculty members.
