- Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families through the continuum of care.
- Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to influence care outcomes.
- Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.
- Continuously evaluates patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking action as needed.
- May administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to clinical protocols and procedures.
- Demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution, fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation.
- Pursues professional development, completes required education, and maintains certifications.

Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Minimum Job Requirements
Education
Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
Certification / Registration / License
- Basic Life Support (BLS). Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required based on specialty.
- Active registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where the RN is providing client nursing services

Experience
Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in operating computer functions (e.g., E-mail, electronic records, digital platforms etc.) clinical, aviation, maintenance, communications, and administrative departments.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
- Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
- Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.

- Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.

- Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation which may include use of therapeutic assistive devices, proper positioning, range of motion and special transferring as indicated. Measures and documents blood pressures, TPRs (Temperature, Pulse, Respiration), I & O (Intake and Output), daily weights, and other patient data as requested. Documents accurately in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Participates in admission, transfer and discharge process under supervision of RN including room set up, orientation to room, removing linen, and proper management of patient belongings. Ensures patient call light is always in reach of patient and answers call-lights promptly.
- Performs purposeful rounding under direction of RN and promptly communicates observations, concerns, and needs of patient/family to RN. Documents appropriately. Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties which require lifting and pushing/pulling while utilizing proper technique and assistive devices.
- Performs tasks related to nutritional needs of the patient under direction of RN to include diet review, tray set up/removal, proper positioning and diet selection. Performs tasks related to maintaining skin integrity to include proper repositioning and skin care. Ensures special patient supplies and appliances are provided and maintained such as TED hose and sequential compression devices.
- Collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated using approved process for accurate specimen labeling and identification. Maintains competency as required. Under direction of RN and as determined by site/unit requirements, may be required to remove IVs, provide post mortem care and perform bladder scans.
- Practices within policies and procedures of infection prevention by demonstrating hand hygiene and knowledge of sterile and aseptic procedures, proper disposal of contaminated materials and utilizing proper attire when in direct contact with patients in isolation.
- Coordinates tests and treatments with and between various departments for patients on nursing units. Maintains a working knowledge of functions and services offered by all diagnostic and treatment departments to facilitate the scheduling of tests and treatments. Maintains working knowledge of EHR system and other computer systems for ordering patient and unit supplies and equipment. Processes daily patient charges and/or related procedures through the system.
- Facilitates communications required to support patient care, including the multiple-line telephone, unit/site paging and the hospital information system. Screens incoming telephone calls. Monitors department office equipment and troubleshoots minor problems. Arranges repair of major malfunctions.
- Compiles necessary chart forms for admissions, transfers, discharges and expirations. Obtains appropriate copies of medical records for transfers to nursing homes and other health care facilities. Verifies medical records contain complete and accurate patient demographic information, patient identification and registration in the medical record, including appropriate level of care.
- Establishes and maintains positive customer relations and contributes to a harmonious work environment. Quickly and courteously acknowledges requests, responds to call lights, demonstrates proper phone etiquette and fosters communication between the health care team.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days, and

Job Description:
This position is responsible for managing inventory activities for assigned departments or clinical programs. Key responsibilities include distributing and maintaining supplies to ensure that medical products, linens, and equipment are adequately stocked and ready for clinical use. The role also involves day-to-day management of inventory for the assigned department, facility, or clinical program, ensuring smooth operations and availability of necessary supplies.
Essential Functions
- Perform inventory control on stock and non-stock items, set par levels, identify and adjust to trends, and keep supplies binned and organized. Act as liaison between Supply Chain and assigned department, facility, or clinical program.
- Order and deliver supplies for assigned department, facility, or clinical program using appropriate technology, systems, and suppliers.
- Process all applicable documents (e.g., freight bill, bill of lading, packing slips) according to Intermountain policy and procedure to ensure prompt and correct computer input and filing.
- Communicate information concerning supply levels, new products, standardization, and implementation to relevant department staff. Troubleshoot issues for problem resolution.
- Assign tasks to backup or fill in for Coordinator I.
- Restock supplies in identified storage locations, considering shelf life (product rotation) and the configuration and maintenance of par cart areas.
- Demonstrate proficiency in cycle count process; cycle count certification may be appropriate depending on assigned areas.
- Validate incoming product via tote scanning, verification, and tote delivery using 'Counter' and 'Delivery' functions.
- Utilize the SCIS system to ensure distribution, inventory, receiving, departmental files, and reports are managed in accordance with auditing, accounting, and other regulatory agencies.
- Ensure compliance with policy and standard operating procedures. Research and resolve SCIS-related problems for assigned inventories and coordinate with appropriate stakeholders or clinical program and SCO Business Applications Team. Review daily, weekly, and monthly reports for assigned locations.

Major Responsibilities:
- Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation which may include use of therapeutic assistive devices, proper positioning, range of motion and special transferring as indicated.

- Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties which require lifting and pushing/pulling while utilizing proper technique and assistive devices. Performs tasks related to nutritional needs of patient under direction of RN to include diet review, tray set up/removal, proper positioning and diet selection.
- Performs tasks related to maintaining skin integrity to include proper repositioning and skin care. Ensures special patient supplies and appliances are provided and maintained such as TED hose and sequential compression devices.
- Under the direction of RN and as determined by site/unit requirements, may be required to remove IVs, provide post mortem care, and bladder scans.
- Practices within policies and procedures of infection prevention by demonstrating hand hygiene and knowledge of sterile and aseptic procedures, proper disposal of contaminated materials and utilizing proper attire when in direct contact with patients in isolation.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. This position is responsible for billing and reconciliation of patient charges for medications and IV solutions for inpatients and outpatients. This includes meeting established deadlines for completion of all phases of billing and reconciliation. Reviews patient charts to identify and correct billing issues associated with high cost single charges or high cost total patient charges. Uses the company’s Charge Description Master (CDM) to review billings and charges associated with medications for internal billing auditors. Routinely interacts with a variety of hospital departments. Serves as clerical and administrative resource for the department with duties that may include reception, scheduling, filing, and coordination of department activities.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Reviews patient records, dedicated reports, and physician/provider notes to obtain information about medication usage. Uses a standard listing of charge codes and/or an automated system to validate medication charges. Documents according to standards set by the department and regulatory agencies.
2. Serves as a resource to hospital personnel and pharmacy staff in resolving billing questions related to medications. Acts as a resource in regard to appropriate billable units for medications for pharmacy personnel or internal auditors. Uses prior experience, diversified procedures and general instructions and procedures to solve a variety of problems.
3. Monitors and evaluates system reports to prevent erroneous billing practices. Audits daily error reports in the medication billing system and makes corrections when issues are identified. Matches, corrects, and codes charges that do not transmit to the billing system. Identifies and resolves problems with the medication billing system, as well as assists in the development and implementation of programs to improve and enhance service quality.
4. Verifies and inputs patient charges into the applicable billing systems. Processes charges for non-formulary medications, EMS replenishment, specialty area charges that are not already automated, and patient assistance billing. This may involve compiling data from multiple sources into meaningful information and then transferring that into the appropriate systems.
5. Analyzes financial reports generated by the technology systems for the pharmacy department. Presents reports to management and assists with the resolution of issues identified.
6. Provides clerical and administrative support to department leadership and staff as requested. This may include recording and distributing meeting minutes, project involvement, scheduling meetings and interviews, greeting and screening department visitors, answering phone calls, and other similar duties as needed.
7. Assumes the duties of the Acute Pharmacy Technician when needed and as appropriate. These duties may include, but not be limited to preparing, charging and crediting medications, restocking automated dispensing technology and compounding specialty medications, and intravenous medications to include hazardous medications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires Pharmacy Technician licensure and active Pharmacy Technician certification OR Pharmacy Intern licensure in the state of practice.
Incumbents in Arizona are also required to provide the AZ Board of Pharmacy Wallet Card at time of hire.
Minimum of two years pharmacy technician experience in working with automated technology systems in related to pharmacy distribution. Ability to complete moderate to difficult mathematical calculations using a hand-held calculator is required. Strong customer service focus, exceptional communication skills, strong attention to detail, prioritization capabilities, superior problem-solving skills, and ability to multi-task. Must have knowledge of computer software, particularly medication management information system software, Microsoft applications and Automated dispensing systems. Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills for interfacing with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, and other contacts.
Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire.
