Functions as a member of the transport team and is responsible for the care of ill and injured patients. Provides patient care while promoting safety and efficiency. Performs under the direct supervision of the Medical Control Physician, either by continuous radio contact or direct consultation. Maintains necessary certifications/licensures, skills, continuing education and complete competency checks as required. Maintains vehicles in a mission ready status.
Essential Functions
- Completes skills check in a timely manner with accuracy.
- Maintains clean environment to include base and maintaining vehicles in a mission ready status. Check, restock and clean at the beginning of the shift and as needed throughout the shift.
- Provides accurate and legible documentation of patient care with attention to detail that accurately reflect assessments and interventions. Ensure that chart is placed in patient's medical record in a timely manner. Review charts on a regular basis with leader/manager
- Provides quality patient care and education in accordance with policies and state regulations as approved by Medical Director and professional standards of care.
- Administers medications and IV solutions safely, correctly and per policy.
- Follows guidelines and procedures independently when Medical Control is not available via radio or direct consultation.
- Assists with other activities which includes but not limited to public relations and marketing activities when needed.
- Follows safety guidelines and procedures; ensures seat belts are worn by crew and passengers.
- Follows vehicle assignments as needed/directed by department. Maintain flexibility with vehicle assignments including the understanding that vehicle assignments are subject to change from a posted schedule based upon the needs of the department.
- Drive in accordance with Atrium Health policy as well as local and state regulations
Physical Requirements
Duties require working, transporting, and driving in all weather conditions to include exposure to extreme hot, cold, and wet weather. Must not have any physical, emotional, or mental impairment to prevent them from riding, driving, or administering patient care in a transport vehicle. This work area may have cramped space and be poorly lit. Noise levels are moderate as associated with working in and around emergency.
Hearing protection is available and required for use around “hot” aircraft. Requires handling of patients that may have infectious diseases, possible exposure to unpleasant conditions and/or handling of contaminated materials or patients. Requires ability to function in high stress situations. Must have critical thinking skills that enable the employee to make rapid, appropriate decisions that ensure the safety of both the crew and patients. Must have ability to concentrate. Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing and pulling. Heavy lifting required, with the assistance of a partner to load/unload patients and carry equipment. Good physical stamina and endurance necessary to perform duties. Employee must maintain fitness standards in accordance with policy. Must have intact sense of sight, hearing, smell and touch with good finger dexterity. Good motor skills and eye/hand coordination required. Requires good personal hygiene and appropriate conduct. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to include, but not limited to, speaking proper English in understandable terms.
Education, Experience and Certifications
High school graduate or GED required. Successful completion of an accredited EMT-Paramedic training program required. Current NC EMT-P certification required. SC EMT-P and National Registry Paramedic certifications preferred at time of hire; SC EMT-P and National Registry Paramedic required within 90 days of hire and required to be maintained throughout employment. BCLS and ACLS required. PALS, S.T.A.B.L.E. and NRP preferred; Approved trauma certification required within 6 months of employment. Atrium Health approved driving course to be completed within 90 days of hire and maintained throughout employment required. One-year active field pre-hospital experience required. Three years total paramedic experience preferred. Annual completion of safety briefings and annual survival training required. Must have a valid driver's license and qualify as insurable by Atrium Health insurance carrier requirements for driving MedCenter Air vehicles. Must have had a driver's license for a minimum of 2 years. Must have an operational smartphone for use as communication device related to MedCenter Air operations.

Job Duties:
Follows all infection prevention practices (i.e. proper cleaning and disinfection protocols and process, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, as well as proper donning and doffing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Performs duties while demonstrating working knowledge of the health care cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements, proper and safe chemical use, equipment handling, and labor-saving products for all items within the healthcare environment for which tasked with servicing.
Adheres to all organization safety, risk management and infection control guidelines and standards while promoting a culture of safety.
Removes waste and transports to the appropriate disposal area while identifying proper waste streams handling (i.e. regulated medical, recycle, solid, and hazardous.

Summary:
Prepares specimens for analysis by registering and accessioning orders via Hospital Information System and Laboratory Information Systems (clinical lab and/or anatomic pathology), verifying specimen acceptability. Performs established pre-analytical and analytical laboratory procedures, not requiring Medical Technologist or Histology Technologist interpretation, in accordance with established laboratory policy in an accurate, safe, and timely manner.
Responsibilities:
Assists with receiving, identifying, accessioning, processing and transporting specimens.Assists in the preparation and processing of bone marrow specimens.Provides support functions to technologists including the loading and maintaining of instruments, making up of reagents, thawing, pooling, importing, and issuing of blood products, and maintenance and function checks. Keeps appropriate persons informed of instrument problems and resolutions.Operates, maintains, and repairs clinical laboratory equipment within the scope of training including waived testing, routine preventative maintenance, calibrations, quality control and safety checks.Completes culture setup of microbiology samples and gram stain preparation when staffed in Microbiology department.Performs the phlebotomy function to ensure accurate and timely processing of lab test orders.Provides laboratory customer service to include request for add-ons, specimen collection information, phlebotomy requests, result inquiry, etc.Performs clerical duties. Also maintains equipment and adequate stock of supplies. Maintains work area in a safe, aseptic and organized manner.

Prioritize patient transports and resolves associated patient care issues according to established policies/procedures. Transfers and transports patients independently to and from various locations including transport to the morgue. Following specified departmental productivity standards, using appropriate body mechanics techniques consistently (seeking assistance as necessary). Also maneuvers patient transport related equipment/supplies (i.e., chest tubes, oxygen tanks, foley bags, medication pumps and various machines) within established guidelines. Greets patients pleasantly and with respect. Explains purpose of patient transport. Communicate with a variety of hospital personnel and family members in order to relay appropriate information regarding patient transport. Answers questions that are within their scope of responsibility and directs other questions to the appropriate sources. Identifies and verifies patient name and transport destination prior to transport by asking patient to state name and comparing name on hospital arm band to transport request. Identifies and uses safe techniques and proper equipment to provide a safe environment for patients and others (i.e., secures patient in wheelchairs and on stretcher by fastening lap belts and restraints during transport; secures equipment with brakes prior to transfer; performs visual preventative maintenance checks and reports or corrects unsafe conditions). Use appropriate infection control and isolation techniques. Reports isolation precautions to departmental staff when not noted on requisition and when appropriate. Signs patients in and out at nurses’ station and appointment location, following established patient transfer/hand-off procedure. Recognizes impending emergencies and takes appropriate action. Job Description:
Provides exercise and lifestyle programming to participants in a safe and productive manner. Applies proper and effective physical activity prescriptions according to ASCM guidelines and principles. Is active in the development and implementation of population-specific programs and services.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Health Promotion, or related field Exercise Programming in a healthcare environment preferred.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: BCLS required ACSM Exercise Specialist or similar certification required (must be completed within 12 months of employment)

EDUCATION:
Acquired through high school plus accredited course through a licensed phlebotomy educational program, hospital, or a community college. Phlebotomy certification required.
EXPERIENCE:
Previous phlebotomy experience with demonstrated venipuncture proficiency and ability to function independently preferred.

As a Patient Safety Attendant at MercyOne, you will support the provision of a safe environment for patients by providing continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients. First line of action is to verbally redirect the patient from engaging in at risk behaviors and notifies professional staff of the patient's needs and/or alerts them in case of an emergency. Documents on observation flow sheet and assist licensed nursing staff with cares as delegated and identified on the Safety Attendant information sheet.

General Requirements:
- Always maintains visual observation.

This position provides pre-boarding support to Banner Health’s new employee’s, which may include maintaining the integrity of recruitment data, scheduling appointments, assisting new employees with required paperwork, partnering with leaders and working with various teams across the organization. Performs a designated function, to provide a seamless delivery of service to customers, employees, candidates, and the hiring authority at all times.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1.Investigate and retrieve correct information for primary sourcing the new hire and/or transferring employee, for their new position. This is making sure all licensures and certifications are up to date and within the current guidelines, required by Banner.
2.Working with our Recruitment, Secure Hire, Occupational Health and Employee Relations teams to ensure new hire is cleared to start and adheres to all Banner Health’s hire guidelines. Guide the new employees through this process as needed, to ensure a smooth flow is obtained, following up daily to ensure no problems arise, throughout the process. Effectively using all systems related to Talent Acquisition (TA), including the applicant tracking system.
3.Coordinate required paperwork to deliver to Clinical Education, so appropriate skills/training courses can be scheduled on required dates. Working closely with these teams to ensure we receive the proper clearances and training is scheduled, rescheduled or cancelled as needed, and in a timely fashion.
4. Processing, tracking and reporting of Employment Eligibility Verification. Ensuring candidate has completed properly, for a smooth onboarding experience. Providing excellent detail with a full understanding of process. Detail and attention needed to process correct documents through E-Verify. Working closely with the audit team and assist with any issues that arise daily. Scanning and auditing of all verifications. Assist with entering in Permanent Resident Cards reverification for current employees.
5. Conducting face to face onboarding workshops, while being a resource to answer any questions via email/telephone. Delivering one on one communication for candidates, ensuring that they are well informed on the company basic information and expectations, to ensure a successful first day. May develop itineraries while the candidate is on-site and ensures that all participants in the process are kept informed of their schedule and any necessary revisions.
6. Continual follow up with multiple teams and candidate to ensure all requirements are met by deadlines. Once clearance is established, connecting with varies team members to align next steps, to include applicant, recruiter, hiring manager, security, Clinical Education and HR. If clearance is not obtained, continual follow up with process to manage and support and work towards clearance.
7. Provides program support to other organizational programs, as needed or directed. This position is also accountable for participating in career fairs and other engagements, as appropriate. Coordinates logistics for New Employee Orientation sessions. Partners with Clinical Education, Occupational Health, Secure Hire and Security to ensure candidate hand-off occurs with hiring partners, so other stakeholders can follow through on their required activities.
8. Works under general supervision and primarily has departmental responsibilities. Interacts with other departments in order to recruit leaders and staff. Customers are internal and external and all candidates, recruiters, senior management. This includes having direct contact with candidates of all levels on a daily basis.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a strong knowledge and understanding of recruitment as normally obtained through the completion of an associate degree in business, human resources, or related field.
Must possess a general knowledge of recruitment/HR processes and service expectations as normally demonstrated through one year of related experience in a recruitment, human resources and/or staffing agency environment. Must have proven success working in a high volume, multi-faceted position that requires exceptional customer service, critical thinking, attention to detail, and multi-tasking.
Must have advanced computer skills and customer relations skills. Must always demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills and a professional demeanor.
