Summary:
Responsible for the preparation, delivery and proper storage of human milk and infant formula.
Responsibilities:
Accurately calculates human milk and formula additives based on order and mixes appropriately.Utilizes computerized inventory system and escalates any issues to leadership.Follows food safety guidelines in milk room as well as maintaining stock of preparation supplies.Monitors temperature and function of each freezer and refrigerator in the milk room and reports concerns to leadership.Monitors inventory of patient specific milk deposits.Collect breast milk, insures proper labeling and storage.Reviews infant feeding orders and clarifies them with the patient care team.

Minimum Job Requirements
Education
Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
Certification / Registration / License
- Basic Life Support (BLS). Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required based on specialty.
- Active registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where the RN is providing client nursing services

Experience
Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
- Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
- Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
- Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.
- Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.
- May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
- Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
- Physical Abilities Testing may be required.

- Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation which may include use of therapeutic assistive devices, proper positioning, range of motion and special transferring as indicated.
- Measures and documents blood pressures, TPRs (Temperature, Pulse, Respiration), I & O (Intake and Output), daily weights, and other patient data as requested. Documents accurately in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Performs purposeful rounding under direction of RN and promptly communicates observations, concerns, and needs of patient/family to RN. Documents appropriately.
- Participates in admission, transfer and discharge process under supervision of RN including room set up, orientation to room, removing linen, and proper management of patient belongings. Ensures patient call light is always in reach of patient and answers call-lights promptly.
- Collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated using approved process for accurate specimen labeling and identification. Maintains competency as required.
- Completes various errands as directed including pick-up and delivery of trays, charts, specimens, and reports. Maintains and orders stock for nursing area. Cleans equipment and work areas.
- Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties which require lifting and pushing/pulling while utilizing proper technique and assistive devices. Performs tasks related to nutritional needs of patient under direction of RN to include diet review, tray set up/removal, proper positioning and diet selection.
- Performs tasks related to maintaining skin integrity to include proper repositioning and skin care. Ensures special patient supplies and appliances are provided and maintained such as TED hose and sequential compression devices.
- Under the direction of RN and as determined by site/unit requirements, may be required to remove IVs, provide post mortem care, and bladder scans.
- Practices within policies and procedures of infection prevention by demonstrating hand hygiene and knowledge of sterile and aseptic procedures, proper disposal of contaminated materials and utilizing proper attire when in direct contact with patients in isolation.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Join our collaborative Greensboro-area Emergency Medicine team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic emergency medicine group serving five Cone Health locations across Greensboro and the surrounding communities. APPs rotate across all five sites, gaining experience in a broad range of care settings, including Moses Cone in Greensboro, a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 100,000 annual ED visits; Wesley Long in Greensboro, a smaller hospital environment; two freestanding emergency departments in the Greensboro/North High Point area; and Annie Penn in Reidsville, a rural community hospital.
Role: Everything from triage in the front to most of the acute care patients and procedures in the back. We encourage autonomy and for everyone to work to the top of their license.
APPs will see all patients, low and high acuity. Culture and patient experience is of the utmost importance. This is a great opportunity for job satisfaction with a long term and stable team who takes care of each.
Staff: ~45 Full time APPs and ~50 full time physicians on the roster. There is 1 APP and 1 Physician per 15 rooms on all shifts.
Training: Love new grads with great onboarding program for new grads. They are paired 1x1 with another provider for their first 6 weeks.
Licensure:
Must have NC PA license, BLS, ACLS before starting. Must obtain ATLS after starting.
Schedule: Schedule varies by day of the week, weekend coverage, shift, and location, so flexibility is required. APPs work 10-hour shifts across first, second, and third shifts. Overnight shifts are limited, as most are covered by a dedicated nocturnist team, though occasional overnights may be needed.
Minimum 130 hrs per month (30 hrs per week).

CICU 8S 24-bed high acuity unit on the 8th floor of the Garden Tower of Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. CICU cares for critically ill cardiac/interventional cardiac patients, including diagnoses of acute MI, cardiogenic shock, dysrhythmias, multisystem organ failure, pre-heart transplant, complex pre and post stent, valvuloplasty, TAVR, as well complex medical patients.

Enter all such product obtained from the green bins into the standardized on-line database in a timely manner. 4)Be responsible for returning all General Stores equipment used for Distribution to General Stores when such use is complete. 5)Coordinate product returns from assigned requisitioning locations back to the General Stores. Picking 1)Be responsible for picking a minimum of 100 lines per hour, achieving this benchmark within a period of time determined to be acceptable by the Supply Chain Leader, but at no time picking less than 60 lines per hour. NOTE: The lines per hour pick time is intended to be fully inclusive of all the complete replenishment to the respective point-of-use location, thereby taking into account pick time, travel time to the department, and replenishment time. Pick all orders requested by unit department by time basis unless directed by lead in shift. 2)Be responsible at all times for the accuracy of your respective inventory picks. Be responsible for the cycle count error generated within your inventory area of responsibility within the General Stores or, if different, the inventory locations you are assigned to pick product. Develop a corrective action plan to mitigate the cycle count errors generated from your respective area of inventory responsibility. Chart a trend chart of the cycle count error rate, by quarter, for your respective inventory location. Maintain the trend chart on the General Stores Quality Board, identifying your trend chart with your name and inventory location. Be responsible for continuous improvement over time. 3)Be responsible for the inventory pick associated with all 2-Bin inventory locations assigned, complete with returning the empty bins to the General Stores so as to follow the defined pick / replenishment process. 4)Be responsible to use the designated picking automation and associated process to perform all inventory picking / replenishment process. Participates in admission, transfer and discharge process under supervision of RN including room set up, orientation to room, removing linen, and proper management of patient belongings. Ensures patient call light is always in reach of patient and answers call-lights promptly.

4. Follows procedure for infection control, safe patient practices (e.g. using 2 patient identifiers), interpreter services, and contraindications to patient interview.
5. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with all policies, laws, and regulations. Performs quality control activities such as monthly nursing unit inspections and pharmacy section checks in a timely manner.
6. Assumes the duties of the Acute Pharmacy Technician when needed and as appropriate. Under the direction of the appropriate licensed clinician, and in keeping with unit specific standards, provides patient care to meet the personal needs and comfort of patients; and assists members of the healthcare team.As an integral member of the patient care team, serves both internal and external customers including patients, nurses, physicians and other colleagues who support the delivery of care and services.
The Patient Care Tech III (PCT III) brings an additional skill set to the table. PCTs that are performing unit secretary duties, telemetry monitoring, remote video monitoring, or are working in the Emergency Department, ICU, Dialysis, Spine Procedure Room, Endoscopy, Neurointerventional Radiology, Angiography, and Radiology Short Stay, and Harrington Telemetry Certified & Step-Down Unit are eligible for this level.
I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Provides clear, timely communication to the RN regarding observations and changes seen in patients. Examples, but not limited to changes in skin condition, vital signs, and/or mental status.
2. Provides constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned by the Resource Nurse or designee.
3. Participates in the development and maintenance of a safe environment. Works to utilize interventions to de-escalate patients and if unsuccessful participates in restraints in accordance with training and education as directed.
4. Assists patient with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, ambulating, meals and nourishment.
5. Assists in moving, lifting, positioning, and transporting patients by utilizing proper safety techniques and body mechanics in all work-related activities.
6. Maintains patient safety by performing patient safety checks, utilizing fall prevention alternative devices/strategies as directed, and following the Restraint Policy standards when caring for a restrained patient.
7. Takes and records vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure and pulse oxymetry). Measures and records patients’ height and weight.
8. Performs EKG’s, performs Point of Care (POC) tests and bladder scanning according to hospital standards. Collects, labels, and prepares specimens for transport to lab.
9. Phlebotomy in certain locations.
10. Demonstrates sensitivity and responsiveness to patients’ needs by acting as a source of information and approaches all interactions with the intention of building positive rapport and relationships.
11. Performs other selected unit specific procedures such as battery changes for telemetry units, checking status of unit equipment, cleaning equipment between patients and proper storage of supplies.
12. Assists RN/Licensed Independent Practitioner with treatments and procedures by preparing patient; obtaining and setting up equipment and supplies, such as intravenous and hemodynamic lines, and utilize sterile technique when indicated. Help in positioning the patient and providing the patient with emotional support. Clean up equipment and supplies following the treatment and/or procedure.
13. Observes, measures, records oral food and fluid intake. Sets up full strength tube feeding solutions and refills tube feeding bags as directed. Empties and records output, as approved, from a variety of sources, e.g., Foley catheter, ostomy appliances and drainage systems. Performs ostomy care on established ostomate patients as directed.
14. Answers telephone using appropriate telephone etiquette. Takes and relays messages. Utilizes intra-department communication systems, such as pagers and intercom.
15. Replenishes patient and unit supplies and equipment.
16. Keeps current with hospital and unit changes by reading communication boards and/or books, bulletin boards, posted notices and reads and responds to UMMHC e mails on a regular basis.
The PCT III must fit into one of these specialties:
Unit Secretary
Functions as unit secretary assisting with patient admissions, transfers, and discharge procedures at least 5 shifts (40 hours) every 6 months. Has administrative responsibilities including, but not limited to, maintaining logs, organizing patient care charts for admission/discharge/transfer and maintenance of medical records. Enters data or retrieves medical information from the electronic medical record systems.
Remote Video Monitoring
Continuously observes multiple patients utilizing the remote video monitoring system.
Emergency Department, Step Down Unit, ICU, Dialysis, Spine Procedure Room, Endoscopy, Neurointerventional Radiology, Angiography, and Radiology Short Stay.
Telemetry Certified & Step-Down Unit - Harrington
PCT IIIs are cross trained in phlebotomy and telemetry competencies, as well as the unit clerk position. PCT IIIs will also be assigned to areas of higher acuity, such as the Step-Down Unit.

1. Minimum of a high school education or GED.

Experience/Skills:
Required:
1. Demonstrated competency attainment in the PCT II level or 1 year of acute care/hospital experience or 1 year of EMT Paramedic experience.
2. Ability to read, write and communicate in English in a clear and concise manner.
3. Medical Terminology.
4. Computer skills.
5. Strong interpersonal skills to gather information from individuals, build relationships that support collaborative work within the department and across the organization and provide exceptional service to patients.
6. Must have proven problem-solving abilities for routine situations and requests assistance from identified resources when more direction is needed.
7. Must be able to remain calm when under stress or in emergency situations.
Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
Department-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents.
III. Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions:
Position requires work indoors in a patient care environment.
Hand dexterity, hearing and vision ability to take direction from a patient or provider, adjust equipment, observe and describe patient observations. Must be able to lift, up to 50 pounds. Work is of heavy demand, standing and walking most of the time with the possibility of pushing heavy equipment and bending frequently.
