Summary:
Under the general direction of the Chief Therapist, the Radiation Therapist contributes to the organizational plan of the Radiation Oncology Unit, to the quality of patient care and supports the institutional philosophy. The Radiation Therapist is technically competent at the entry level and interacts with other areas of the department. Applies ionizing radiation to the patient, as instructed and prescribed by the physician according to departmental standards, state guidelines, and Memorial Healthcare System’s policy and procedures. As designated, acts as a Charge Therapist and coordinates technical activities and acts as the point person in the absence of the Chief Therapist.
Responsibilities:
Collaborates with Physicians, Physicists, Dosimetrist, Chief Radiation Therapist in simulation or clinical setup process. Presents set up questions and solutions while utilizing Crew Resource Management Principles and Practices. Observes all established radiation safety measures (ALARA).Performs appropriate quality control warm-up procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and reports equipment malfunctions to chain of command.Serves as resource to radiation therapy students by role modeling professional behaviors, instructing, assessing, and evaluating. Stocks and stores appropriate supplies in technical areas. Informs Chief Therapists when supplies are needed. Completes monthly department data logs as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.Manages patient scheduling in a technical area including simulations, field verifications, daily treatments, and cone-downs to avoid delays and or interruptions.Performs CT-Sim procedures and documents accurately. Executes simulations in accordance with department policies and procedures. Prepares room and equipment properly for each simulation and monitors patient. Performs special procedures (4D CT Respiratory Gating, HDR, TBI, SRS, SBRT, Oral and IV Contrast, Urethrogram) and monitors patient for adverse reactions and quickly seeks assistance of a nurse or physician. Completes treatment documentation.Participates in scheduled rotations in all department equipment, serves as emergency on call therapist, and as needed, rotates between both Radiation Oncology departments. Maintains flexibility and assumes all other additional responsibilities as assigned.Prepares room and equipment properly for each treatment. Performs imaging (CBCT, KV, MV, respiratory gating) as ordered, to position patient. Analyzes results, identifies issues and takes appropriate action including repositioning patient and repeating procedure to deliver therapy according to treatment plan. Performs special procedure treatments (HDR, TBI, SRS, SBRT) and completes treatment documentation.Reviews physician's orders and radiation therapy treatment plan. Educates patient regarding procedures to ensure patient's understanding. Assists patient and family with any problems or concerns and to refers to proper resource personnel. Identifies and reports potential liabilities and risks management to Chief Therapist.Manages patient documentation in Aria for team communication, charge capture and billing reconciliation. Prepares the treatment record information for setup and treatment. Accurately performs weekly chart checks and QA audits at end of treatment through Encounters in Aria EMR. Accurately captures and reviews charges for treatment and simulation procedures.

Additional Job Information:

Other Information: It is expected that the Radiation Therapist will meet all initial performance competency standards for this position within a one-year period.Required Education:Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Technologist program with an Associate's degree in Radiation Therapy or Radiologic Sciences with Radiation Therapy Certification.Required Licensure, Certification and/or Registration: BLS Basic Life Support.ARRT Registered Technologist- Radiation Therapy and/or ARRT Board Eligible and must pass within one month of starting the position, and/or FL State License.

Measures and marks patient head using International 10-20 measurement system. Apply electrodes. Perform EEG study on Natus XLTEK machine.
Identify EEG patterns and artifacts. Troubleshoot and correct artifacts. Notify reading physician for analysis and interpretation.
Demonstrate proficiency in monitoring EEG studies in both the ICU and EMU settings following ACNS Guidelines using pattern recognition and EEG terminology to alert and describe to reading Epileptologist at appropriate times.
Reviews patient's history and educates patient about procedure. Monitors and documents patient's condition and responds to and reports any seizure symptoms.
Perform a variety of video EEG recordings (Routine / LTM / EMU) showing proficiency in all areas, including the International 10-20 system, and performing the EEG test according to ACNS Guidelines.

Duties: Surgical Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient Pharmacy:
Responsible for medication management for the pharmacy, nursing units and operating rooms including but not limited to ordering, receiving, sorting, distributing medications. Troubleshoot equipment issues and provide excellent customer service and patient care in accordance with assigned duties. Create and utilize medication usage reports to analyze data for effective inventory control. Manage incoming telephone calls from inpatient units, and triage calls appropriately utilizing excellent customer service skills. Receive orders, select proper drug, and prepare dosage form and strength. Practice sterile compounding for immediate usage as well as non-sterile compounding of oral liquids and topicals. Calculate patient's IV infusion due times, reorder as needed and collaborate with providers, physicians, and pharmacists recommending medication concentrations.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 18 years of age required.
High school education or equivalent required.
Licensed Nebraska pharmacy intern or registered as a pharmacy technician with the State of Nebraska Board of Pharmacy required.
If registered as a Pharmacy Technician, certification within twelve months of registration date required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior pharmacy technician or hospital setting experience preferred.
Medical terminology and knowledge of top 200 medications prescribed preferred.

This position will work under the supervision of the pharmacist performing routine duties in packaging, distribution, non-sterile compounding, and record-keeping of pharmaceutical supplies. Serves as a liaison between the customer and the pharmacist. Effectively uses pharmacy computer systems to investigate and respond to missing medication requests. Consistently demonstrates an ability to assess a situation, consider alternatives, and choose the appropriate course of action. Demonstrates proficiency in preparing compounded intravenous medications, total parenteral nutrition products, and chemotherapeutic agents within compliance with USP <797>/<800>. Ensures that the sterile compounding environment and all equipment are cleaned and maintained according to policy. May educate and train peer Pharmacy Technicians, Technician Externs, Technician Trainees, and Volunteers.Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Identifies medications and other items for reorder as necessary to maintain a continuous inventory of medications and supplies. Receives, checks-in, and restocks medications ordered through the wholesaler and other vendors verifying all quantities against invoices. Assesses practical ways to deal with shorted items and short-dated or unusable items.
2. Manages users within the automated dispensing technology database as per policy. Investigates discrepancies and troubleshoots malfunctions in automated dispensing technology.
3. Exhibits excellent interpersonal skills and is customer service oriented in all contacts with patients, visitors and staff. Responds to standard requests from internal customers. Interacts primarily with department personnel, cross-department personnel, internal customers, patients and physicians.
4. May use automated dispensing technology or requisition to restock medications to nursing and ancillary areas after checking by a pharmacist. When allowed by law and policy, and upon completion of proper training/competency assessment, may restock automated dispensing technology using barcode scanning verification devices. Restocks medications to all areas outside automated dispensing technology which may include but not limited to trays, code carts and emergency boxes.
5. Compounds non-sterile medication products. Understands and appropriately follows all product worksheets/recipes for documentation and check processes. Understands and adheres to all applicable USP compounding guidelines. Demonstrates knowledge of and consistently performs calibrations of equipment and accurately measures components for compounding. Repackages bulk medications into unit of use packaging. Completes accurate documentation of medications compounded and repackaged per policy.
6. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with all policies, laws, and regulations. Performs quality control activities such as monthly nursing unit inspections and pharmacy section checks in a timely manner. Completes documentation of refrigerator temperatures, and equipment maintenance activities as required.
7. Ensures the proper use of garbing and compounding techniques in accordance with policies and has knowledge of basic principles within USP <797> and USP<800>, laws, policies, and procedures that pertain to compounding. Performs compounding and labeling of intravenous compounds and hazardous agents to include chemotherapy using proper sterile and aseptic technique as appropriate to the site of care. Understands the different product lines in sterile compounding (patient specific and non-patient specific batch) and the differences between the various populations (Adult, Pediatric, Neonate). Completes all required environmental cleaning procedures. Documents all required tasks and other information per policy. Understands the safe handling of hazardous drugs and demonstrated the correct receipt, storage, labelling and transport process.
8. Handles narcotic medications following all federal and legal requirements as set through policy and procedure. Understands all regulatory requirements for receiving, compounding, repackaging, and distribution for controlled substances. Consistently adheres to all storage and inventory movement documentation requirements for controlled substances.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires Pharmacy Technician licensure and active Pharmacy Technician certification OR Pharmacy Intern licensure in the state of practice.
Incumbents in Arizona are also required to provide the AZ Board of Pharmacy Wallet Card at time of hire.
Minimum of two years pharmacy technician experience. Ability to complete moderate to difficult mathematical calculations using a hand-held calculator is required. Strong customer service focus, exceptional communication skills, strong attention to detail, prioritization capabilities, superior problem-solving skills, and ability to multi-task. Must have knowledge of computer software, particularly medication management information system software, Microsoft applications and automated dispensing systems. POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Security Supervisor, is responsible for the performance of all security and safety duties as assigned. Provide armed, uniformed Security presence throughout St. Joseph’s Health (SJH) campuses. Senior Security Officers will assess threats, provide immediate response to, and mitigate offenses against public order, life and safety of colleagues, staff, patients, visitors and others on and within the buildings and grounds of SJH. Offenses or events requiring investigation and thorough reporting will be made and submitted to the Lead Security Officer and other SJH Leadership. Coordination with law enforcement agencies based on threat assessment and offenses. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
Valid State of New York Armed Security Guard License (includes firearms training and a valid NYS pistol permit) OR active police officer status (New York State) at time of hiring is required.
Active police officers must obtain armed security license and a NYS pistol permit within 6 months upon being hired.
Successful completion of the DCJS (division of criminal justice) Basic Course for Police Officers preferred.
High School Diploma/GED Certificate required. Associate degree preferred.
A valid NYS Drivers License is required.
IAHSS Basic Security Certification must be completed within one year of hire.
FEMA Emergency Management Institute courses must be completed within 90 days of hire - IS - 100c.

$20.80 - $31.20What is a Sterile Processing Tech (SPD Tech)?
SPD Techs have a critical role in preventing infection with tasks such as sterilizing, cleaning, processing, assembling, storing, and distributing medical supplies. This role will also handle soiled and contaminated items, so you need to be comfortable with handling. This is a very tactical position that requires strong attention to detail and will work behind the scenes. This position does not interact with patients. Previous SPD or healthcare experience is preferred. SPD Certification for this position is not required.
Major Responsibilities:
- Receives soiled and contaminated items in decontamination area. Sorts equipment, rinses as needed, places equipment through sonic tanks and washers, reassembles trays, performs safety checks, hangs and sorts instruments, wraps sets according to set policy, and wraps towels and basins appropriately.
- Sterilizes instruments and equipment using the aerator, gas sterilizer or steam sterilizer and operates glass dryer. Packages items in steri/peel as required. Performs quality assurance testing for all methods of sterilization to ensure sterility of supplies. Hand cleans miscellaneous instruments (Baxter pump, hypothermo units, etc.) and operates the cart cleaner.
- Ensures proper care and handling of high cost instrumentation and equipment to include items requiring special handling, laser instrumentation, orthopedic implants, cardiac assist devices, endoscopic and microscopic instrumentation.
- May build case carts according to procedure and physician preference as specified. File case cart sheets and requisitions, responds to Code 4s with defibrillator and back up supplies, maintains CPR annies, tests autoclaves with the tests according to procedure, and changes graphs as necessary.
- Checks incoming trays and follows up with departments as to missing instruments or parts.
- Takes immediate and appropriate action if a question of sterilizer failure occurs.
- Receives and records orders for supplies as requested by departments. Records accurate product number and assures all forms are correctly completed for proper billing. Marks, dates and stocks equipment, which may include returning to appropriate department on a timely basis.
- Opens and unpacks supply boxes, checking for damaged goods and number of items received. Reports any discrepancies to the supervisor. Performs credits for unused products returned, checks stock levels, copies supply sheets, checks carts for outdated supplies, and performs general cleaning of shelves.
- May performs various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.

Under the direction of RN and as determined by site/unit requirements, may be required to remove IVs, provide post mortem care, and bladder scans.
Practices within policies and procedures of infection prevention by demonstrating hand hygiene and knowledge of sterile and aseptic procedures, proper disposal of contaminated materials and utilizing proper attire when in direct contact with patients in isolation.

EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's: A baccalaureate or higher degree in biological sciences or an equivalent major from an accredited college or university, completing the number of semester and/or quarter units in coursework relevant to a Clinical Lab Scientist Generalist license as specified by the California Code of Regulations – Title 17
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
- CLSL-Licensed Clinical Lab Scientist
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years recent relevant experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Demonstrated knowledge and technical competence in routine specimen collection, preparation, testing applications, laboratory operations, and quality assurance in one or more assigned clinical specialty areas; examples: Chemistry, Special Chemistry,
- Hematology/Coagulation, Urinalysis and Transfusion Service.
- Demonstrates subject matter expertise in one or more technical areas of the Lab. Is knowledgeable as to regulatory and accreditation requirements. Is skilled in QC/QA, equipment troubleshooting, training, assessing competency, procedure development, and technical problem-solving.
- Ability to organize and prioritize job duties and assigned tasks for completion within expected timeframes
- Ability to accurately, precisely, and reliably perform job duties and assigned tasks.
- Demonstrates sound judgment and problem solving relevant to assigned duties.
