Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation which may include use of therapeutic assistive devices, proper positioning, range of motion and special transferring as indicated.
Measures and documents blood pressures, TPRs (Temperature, Pulse, Respiration), I & O (Intake and Output), daily weights, and other patient data as requested. Documents accurately in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Performs purposeful rounding under direction of RN and promptly communicates observations, concerns, and needs of patient/family to RN. Documents appropriately.
Participates in admission, transfer and discharge process under supervision of RN including room set up, orientation to room, removing linen, and proper management of patient belongings. Ensures patient call light is always in reach of patient and answers call-lights promptly.
Collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated using approved process for accurate specimen labeling and identification. Maintains competency as required.
Completes various errands as directed including pick-up and delivery of trays, charts, specimens, and reports. Maintains and orders stock for nursing area. Cleans equipment and work areas.
Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties which require lifting and pushing/pulling while utilizing proper technique and assistive devices. Performs tasks related to nutritional needs of patient under direction of RN to include diet review, tray set up/removal, proper positioning and diet selection.
Performs tasks related to maintaining skin integrity to include proper repositioning and skin care. Ensures special patient supplies and appliances are provided and maintained such as TED hose and sequential compression devices.
Under the direction of RN and as determined by site/unit requirements, may be required to remove IVs, provide post mortem care, and bladder scans.
Practices within policies and procedures of infection prevention by demonstrating hand hygiene and knowledge of sterile and aseptic procedures, proper disposal of contaminated materials and utilizing proper attire when in direct contact with patients in isolation.
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Participates in admission, transfer and discharge process under supervision of RN including room set up, orientation to room, removing linen, and proper management of patient belongings. Ensures patient call light is always in reach of patient and answers call-lights promptly.
Collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated using approved process for accurate specimen labeling and identification. Maintains competency as required.
Completes various errands as directed including pick-up and delivery of trays, charts, specimens, and reports. Maintains and orders stock for nursing area. Cleans equipment and work areas.
Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties which require lifting and pushing/pulling while utilizing proper technique and assistive devices. Performs tasks related to nutritional needs of patient under direction of RN to include diet review, tray set up/removal, proper positioning and diet selection.
Performs tasks related to maintaining skin integrity to include proper repositioning and skin care. Ensures special patient supplies and appliances are provided and maintained such as TED hose and sequential compression devices.
Under the direction of RN and as determined by site/unit requirements, may be required to remove IVs, provide post mortem care, and bladder scans.

General Summary:
Using the Quality Caring Model, demonstrates acceptable performance and applies the nursing process to plan and manage the care of routine patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. Effectively communicates fundamental patient/family information to health care team. Identifies and communicates variances from patient goals. Responsible for providing and coordinating interdisciplinary patient care utilizing the nursing process.

Minimum licensure/certification required (if applicable):

- BLS certification; additional Life Support training as applicable to unit requirements.

Working Conditions:

Must be able to bend body downward at the waist and be able to kneel. Must be able to utilize a computer for periods of time throughout the shift.
Visual Acuity: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly at distances close to the eyes.
Auditory Acuity: Must have sufficient acuity to identify auditory alarms in noisy environments.
Environmental Conditions: The worker is subject to hazards associated with a hospital environment.

- Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and documenting/updating pertinent health information (i.e. chief complaint, allergies, medications).
- Performs laboratory procedures (i.e. strep test, wound culture, specimen collection, etc.) using principles of aseptic technique and standard precautions / infection control guidelines.
- Assists the physician/provider with procedures and surgeries such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy, etc.
- Administers medications, under physician/provider orders, including: immunizations, antibiotics, pain medications, vitamins, topical agents, and insulin. With limitations, initiates, maintains and discontinues IV therapy; administering selected fluids with pre-mixed medications.
- Provides basic patient education on the performance of tasks, skills, treatment and self-care. Follows through with necessary procedure or test requests, prescription refills, new appointment times and referrals to other facilities or services. Refers questions to registered nurses and physicians/providers per scope of practice guidelines and relays information back to patient as directed.
- Communicates with physicians and other members of the health care team. Documents and communicates accurate and timely information regarding patient conditions.

- Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation which may include use of therapeutic assistive devices, proper positioning, range of motion and special transferring as indicated.

- Participates in admission, transfer and discharge process under supervision of RN including room set up, orientation to room, removing linen, and proper management of patient belongings. Ensures patient call light is always in reach of patient and answers call-lights promptly.
- Collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated using approved process for accurate specimen labeling and identification. Maintains competency as required.

This position will work under the supervision of the pharmacist performing routine duties in packaging, distribution, non-sterile compounding, and record-keeping of pharmaceutical supplies. Serves as a liaison between the customer and the pharmacist. Effectively uses pharmacy computer systems to investigate and respond to missing medication requests. Consistently demonstrates an ability to assess a situation, consider alternatives, and choose the appropriate course of action. Demonstrates proficiency in preparing compounded intravenous medications, total parenteral nutrition products, and chemotherapeutic agents within compliance with USP <797>/<800>. Ensures that the sterile compounding environment and all equipment are cleaned and maintained according to policy. May educate and train peer Pharmacy Technicians, Technician Externs, Technician Trainees, and Volunteers. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Identifies medications and other items for reorder as necessary to maintain a continuous inventory of medications and supplies. Receives, checks-in, and restocks medications ordered through the wholesaler and other vendors verifying all quantities against invoices. Assesses practical ways to deal with shorted items and short-dated or unusable items.
2. Manages users within the automated dispensing technology database as per policy. Investigates discrepancies and troubleshoots malfunctions in automated dispensing technology.
3. Exhibits excellent interpersonal skills and is customer service oriented in all contacts with patients, visitors and staff. Responds to standard requests from internal customers. Interacts primarily with department personnel, cross-department personnel, internal customers, patients and physicians.
4. May use automated dispensing technology or requisition to restock medications to nursing and ancillary areas after checking by a pharmacist. When allowed by law and policy, and upon completion of proper training/competency assessment, may restock automated dispensing technology using barcode scanning verification devices. Restocks medications to all areas outside automated dispensing technology which may include but not limited to trays, code carts and emergency boxes.
5. Compounds non-sterile medication products. Understands and appropriately follows all product worksheets/recipes for documentation and check processes. Understands and adheres to all applicable USP compounding guidelines. Demonstrates knowledge of and consistently performs calibrations of equipment and accurately measures components for compounding. Repackages bulk medications into unit of use packaging. Completes accurate documentation of medications compounded and repackaged per policy.
6. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with all policies, laws, and regulations. Performs quality control activities such as monthly nursing unit inspections and pharmacy section checks in a timely manner. Completes documentation of refrigerator temperatures, and equipment maintenance activities as required.
7. Ensures the proper use of garbing and compounding techniques in accordance with policies and has knowledge of basic principles within USP <797> and USP<800>, laws, policies, and procedures that pertain to compounding. Performs compounding and labeling of intravenous compounds and hazardous agents to include chemotherapy using proper sterile and aseptic technique as appropriate to the site of care. Understands the different product lines in sterile compounding (patient specific and non-patient specific batch) and the differences between the various populations (Adult, Pediatric, Neonate). Completes all required environmental cleaning procedures. Documents all required tasks and other information per policy. Understands the safe handling of hazardous drugs and demonstrated the correct receipt, storage, labelling and transport process.
8. Handles narcotic medications following all federal and legal requirements as set through policy and procedure. Understands all regulatory requirements for receiving, compounding, repackaging, and distribution for controlled substances. Consistently adheres to all storage and inventory movement documentation requirements for controlled substances.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires Pharmacy Technician licensure and active Pharmacy Technician certification OR Pharmacy Intern licensure in the state of practice.
Incumbents in Arizona are also required to provide the AZ Board of Pharmacy Wallet Card at time of hire.
Minimum of two years pharmacy technician experience. Ability to complete moderate to difficult mathematical calculations using a hand-held calculator is required. Strong customer service focus, exceptional communication skills, strong attention to detail, prioritization capabilities, superior problem-solving skills, and ability to multi-task. Must have knowledge of computer software, particularly medication management information system software, Microsoft applications and automated dispensing systems. Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills for interfacing with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, and other contacts.

Summary:
Under the general direction of the Chief Therapist, the Radiation Therapist contributes to the organizational plan of the Radiation Oncology Unit, to the quality of patient care and supports the institutional philosophy. The Radiation Therapist is technically competent at the entry level and interacts with other areas of the department. Applies ionizing radiation to the patient, as instructed and prescribed by the physician according to departmental standards, state guidelines, and Memorial Healthcare System’s policy and procedures. As designated, acts as a Charge Therapist and coordinates technical activities and acts as the point person in the absence of the Chief Therapist.
Responsibilities:
Collaborates with Physicians, Physicists, Dosimetrist, Chief Radiation Therapist in simulation or clinical setup process. Presents set up questions and solutions while utilizing Crew Resource Management Principles and Practices. Observes all established radiation safety measures (ALARA).Performs appropriate quality control warm-up procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and reports equipment malfunctions to chain of command.Serves as resource to radiation therapy students by role modeling professional behaviors, instructing, assessing, and evaluating. Stocks and stores appropriate supplies in technical areas. Informs Chief Therapists when supplies are needed. Completes monthly department data logs as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.Manages patient scheduling in a technical area including simulations, field verifications, daily treatments, and cone-downs to avoid delays and or interruptions.Performs CT-Sim procedures and documents accurately. Executes simulations in accordance with department policies and procedures. Prepares room and equipment properly for each simulation and monitors patient. Performs special procedures (4D CT Respiratory Gating, HDR, TBI, SRS, SBRT, Oral and IV Contrast, Urethrogram) and monitors patient for adverse reactions and quickly seeks assistance of a nurse or physician. Completes treatment documentation.Participates in scheduled rotations in all department equipment, serves as emergency on call therapist, and as needed, rotates between both Radiation Oncology departments. Maintains flexibility and assumes all other additional responsibilities as assigned.Prepares room and equipment properly for each treatment. Performs imaging (CBCT, KV, MV, respiratory gating) as ordered, to position patient. The Billing Specialist is responsible for resolving claim edits for payors using the knowledge of the appropriate billing form and billing guidelines as well as various insurance contracts and payment methodologies to ensure a compliant claim. Works with audit nurses on coordination of medical records and letter of medical necessity for a formal appeal.- for Hospital billing.Enters all Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) reviews into the third-party software. POSITION PURPOSE
The Patient Support Technician functions as a collaborative member of the health care team in partnership with and under supervision of the Registered Nurse utilizing principles of Relationship-Based Care, performs direct patient care to a specific group of patients and coordinates activities which relate to the flow of unit processes. Actively supports the activities of the unit based shared governance council. Promotes organizational commitment and excellence in patient care experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Demonstrates principles of Relationship-based Care to cultivate and maintain therapeutic relationships as a means to optimal healing and collegial functioning as an interdisciplinary care team member.
Provides patient care that reflects respect for patients' rights, dignity, values, culture preferences, and expressed needs and attention to providing comfort, relieving pain, and alleviating anxiety.
Provides basic bedside care and selected procedures under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. Including but not limited to: venipuncture, 12 lead EKG, basic blood glucose collection and monitoring, respiratory care (i.e. Cough and deep breathing, incentive spirometry, pulse oximetry, oxygen setup, hand held nebulizer), dressing changes, collection of vital signs, recognition of life-threatening conditions with initial responses and reporting, emptying and measuring drainage equipment.
Performs activities of daily living (ADL) appropriate to the patient's condition under the direction of and supervision of the Registered Nurse.
Initiates and maintains patient medical records.
Manages communication for the unit including placing and receiving calls from physicians, other departments, and visitors.
Maintains an accurate patient roster/census and available ready beds.
Assists with the provision of patient education under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
Integrates principles of the Personal.Connected.Journey and demonstrates Trinity Health Guiding Behaviors to provide excellent care of self, patients, and care team members.
Performs basic nutritional support to patients such as bed set up, assistance with feeding, and collection and documentation of intake and calorie count as appropriate.
Takes personal accountability to seek out experiences in order to maintain skills and competence.
Seeks and incorporates feedback concerning improvement in one's own practice, including participation in self-appraisal.
Assists with the admission process by collecting selected assessment data, applying necessary equipment, labeling patient's clothes and belongings, informing patient/family of unit routines, etc.
Provides individualized care consistent with the plan of care under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse.
Actively engages and participates in unit-based and other committees and indicatives that promote patient and workplace safety, optimal patient outcomes, and satisfaction.
Reports changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse in a timely manner.
Demonstrates proper body mechanics in performing role.
Performs other various duties as assigned and needed. These duties may vary depending upon the unit, patient type and need, number and complexity of treatment provided. Additional duties may also include nonclinical duties consistent with meeting the needs of the patient and care team.

In accordance with unit or departmental practice, assists with tracking and monitoring of equipment assigned to the unit. Requests services for maintaining equipment as needed.
In accordance with unit or departmental practice, proficient with the electronic health records for documentation, assessment, and care management, performing these activities concurrently with provision of care throughout the shift.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Preferably at least one of the following:
- 6 months direct patient care experience within past 5 years.
- Completion of one Medical/Surgical clinical rotation in a nursing educational program.
- Completion of a "Patient Care Technician" program that requires successful completion of an externship in an acute care facility.
- Previous Health Unit Coordinator/Unit Secretary working experience.
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or GED program or equivalent.
- Completion of one of the following preferred:
1. Certification program which requires a Medical/Surgical rotation.
2. Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
3. Equivalent work experience as defined in Section D.
Licensure/Certification:
- If EMT - current licensure in State of Michigan.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Maintains appropriate skill level through completion of required hospital and unit based education offerings.
In a typical day, the colleague may sit for 25%, stand for 25%, and walk for 50% of the day.
Working in the patient care environment may result in exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous substances.
Working weekends and holidays is necessary to meet staffing needs. Work in other units and shifts may be assigned as necessary to also meet staffing requirements.
Associate's position requires occasional (5-10% of work time) squatting, crawling, crouching, kneeling, and balancing, frequent bending/stooping, and reaching above shoulder level, pushing/pulling.
Position requires the use of hands for simple and firm grasping and fine manipulating.
Position may require frequent lifting and carrying of patients/equipment other not to exceed 51 pounds. Associates will not lift items/patients exceeding 35 pounds from the floor.

• Initiates intubation procedures and sets up ventilation equipment. Operates,
assesses, and
manages patient airway support, ventilator settings and equipment.
• Transports and monitors patients requiring ECMO, Medical Circulatory Devices
(VAD, Impella), Intra-aortic Balloon Counter Pulsation, Internal/External Pacing,
Ventriculostomy, and Point of Care.
Physical Requirements
Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pulling and
pushing. Must weigh less than 240 pounds and maintain weight while employed with
MedCenter Air to remain on flying status. Must have intact sense of sight, hearing,
smell, and touch. Finger dexterity, good motor, and eye-hand coordination. Requires
good personal hygiene and appropriate conduct. Must be able to speak English clearly.
Conditions of transport may vary and include exposure to extreme hot, cold and wet
weather. Workspace may be confined and poorly lit. Exposure to patients with infectious
diseases and biohazardous materials is possible. Good physical stamina and
endurance are necessary to perform duties. Teammate must maintain fitness standards
in accordance with Policy 2.210 (Fit for Duty).
Education, Experience and Certifications
Graduate from an accredited school of respiratory care required. Current RT license
or temporary license as a registered petitioner in the working and residential state.
RRT required, BSRT preferred. BLS required. Meets qualifications of appropriate
clinical advancement requirements required. Threeyears clinical respiratory care
experience in the Emergency Department and/or Intensive Care Unit required.
Ability to demonstrate proficiency in advanced procedures and skills bi-annually
required. Paramedic Certification required within 2 years of hire Must acquire applicable state
EMT-P, SC EMT-P and National Registry. Must be maintained throughout
employment. * Trauma Certification, ACLS, PALS, NRP and S.T.A.B.L.E. required
upon completion of orientation and maintained. Advanced certification to include
Adult Critical Care Specialty (ACCS) or equivalent as approved required to maintain
position according to standards of commission on accreditation of medical transport
systems (CAMTS). Aviation training required or flight status and must meet
requirements of “flight crew member” per FAA Part 135 regulations to include Night
Vision Googles to ensure safe landings. Must have a valid driver's license and
qualify as insurable by Advocate Health insurance for driving MedCenter Air vehicles.
Must have an operational smartphone for use as communication device related to
MedCenter air operations.

Essential Functions
- Works directly with the Area Facilities Director in developing, planning, organizing, implementing, and managing compliant and efficient facilities operations.
- Provides management oversight in terms of hospital maintenance goals of quality, value, satisfaction, compliance, and standardization to increase the value of Intermountain’s capital facilities investment by managing facilities as part of a system-wide business, including quality of care, decreased operational and upfront costs, design optimization, and profitability to the company.
- Implements and executes on operational strategies, system and site policies and procedures, and product and equipment standardization to realize compliance and operation efficiencies.
- Serves as a key coordination point and subject matter expert for all facilities management activities within the assigned facility and is a resource for all caregivers at the site.
- Is directly responsible, or responsible as assigned, to coordinate with Construction, Capital Planning, Energy Management, and Sustainability to ensure safe, efficient, and effective projects in the facilities.
- Serves as the direct manager of Intermountain maintenance and facilities management functions under their purview and the staff in the assigned facilities, and is responsible to ensure proper maintenance, repair, operation, and efficiency of all plant assets in their area.
- Is responsible for the effective and compliant management of a significant portion of business within Intermountain Health’s operations with daily management of Building Operations and Maintenance spending, as well as a portion of the Maintenance Renewal capital project budget.
- Consults with senior leaders on questions related to growth of facilities and expansion of service lines affecting Facilities Management operations.
- Works with Human Resources or senior Facilities Management leaders to evaluate and standardize staffing best practice, minimum job competencies, education, and caregiver roles and responsibilities.
- Is responsible for all aspects of personnel management and leadership in their area. Leads team to support and adopt best practices, working toward continuous improvement.

This position is responsible for overseeing inventory management activities for assigned departments or clinical programs.
