Summary:
Provides direct patient care in an area designated as a specialty unit in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors, documents, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. Additional Job Information:
Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communications skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Work Experience: One (1) year of nursing experience required. Other Information: Department specific credentials - See below-ONCC Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Certificate Required for those RNs administering chemotherapy. APHON Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider card required within 12 months of hire for those RNs administering chemotherapy for oncologic indication within the pediatric setting. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required for ICU, ED, PACU, Endo, Tele, OB, MHN Pre-Op and Specialty Procedural areas. PALS required for Pediatric areas with the exception of NICU.- if RN is coming from a non-pediatric background, they have 30 days from date of hire to obtain PALS.NRP certification required for NICU – if RN is coming from a non NICU background, they have 30 days from date of hire to obtain NRP. Certification in Fetal Monitoring through National Credential Center or through AWOHNN (Intermediate or Advanced) for L&D RNs must be completed prior to completion of job orientation. RN Fellowship Program requires one (1) year of RN independent practice not inclusive of nurse orientation. RN Fellowship specialties ACLS and BLS Certifications. Memorial Rehabilitation Institute provides highly specialized care ranging from complex multiple trauma, stroke and brain injury to physical and speech therapy. Inpatient care is offered at Memorial Regional Hospital South, with outpatient care available in five different locations. We also have a home health team and resources for long-term care at Memorial Manor, while also offering therapy for pediatric developmental diagnosis through Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.
Summary:
Provides occupational therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover and maintain occupational skills.
Responsibilities:
Designs and implements a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the healthcare team as well as the patient/family.Supervises and delegates the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to established licensing laws, state regulations and practice standards. Mentors peers and students.Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition including type and frequency of treatment.Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support resources.Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services.

The Patient Financial Services Representative (PFSR) serves as the first point of contact in greeting patients and guarantors in the hospital, ambulatory or medical office setting. The PFSR engages with the patient or guarantor to obtain pertinent information and answer any questions in an effort to ensure that all required demographic, financial, and insurance eligibility information is gathered and verified. Ensures all required notices and consent forms are signed accordingly.
Responsibilities:
Verifies insurance benefits and obtains pre-certification/authorization as necessary.Communicates with physician's and their staff, nursing unit staff, and/or other appropriate personnel to exchange necessary information.Determines and accepts required payments, including but not limited to co-pays and deductibles.Ensures that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered with timeliness and accuracy.

- Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation which may include use of therapeutic assistive devices, proper positioning, range of motion and special transferring as indicated.
- Measures and documents blood pressures, TPRs (Temperature, Pulse, Respiration), I & O (Intake and Output), daily weights, and other patient data as requested. Documents accurately in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

Summary:

- Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and documenting/updating pertinent health information (i.e. chief complaint, allergies, medications).
- Performs laboratory procedures (i.e. strep test, wound culture, specimen collection, etc.) using principles of aseptic technique and standard precautions / infection control guidelines.
- Assists the physician/provider with procedures and surgeries such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy, etc.
- Administers medications, under physician/provider orders, including: immunizations, antibiotics, pain medications, vitamins, topical agents, and insulin. With limitations, initiates, maintains and discontinues IV therapy; administering selected fluids with pre-mixed medications.
- Provides basic patient education on the performance of tasks, skills, treatment and self-care. Follows through with necessary procedure or test requests, prescription refills, new appointment times and referrals to other facilities or services. Refers questions to registered nurses and physicians/providers per scope of practice guidelines and relays information back to patient as directed.
- Communicates with physicians and other members of the health care team. Documents and communicates accurate and timely information regarding patient conditions.
- Performs advanced clinical tasks or skills such as removal of sutures and staples, catheterization, audiograms, laboratory procedures (throat/nose culture, drug screen, phlebotomy - butterfly, venous access, heel stick), EKG, spirometry, Holter monitor application, casting, complex wound care, etc., with demonstrated competency and under clinical supervision.
- Organizes and prepares exam rooms, lab and work areas including: cleaning, stocking, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment. Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
- Completes routine maintenance and quality monitoring of clinic equipment using appropriate technique when cleaning, sterilizing and caring for instruments and other equipment.
- Participates in patient centered initiatives, care management, performance and quality improvement activities.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.
