SUMMARY: Under the supervision of Brown University Health Supply Chain Operations Leadership, Distribution Technicians provide high-level customer service and operational support to the caregivers and departments Supply Chain supports across all Brown University Health facilities. The core Success Factors include: Instill Trust and Value Differences Patient and Community Focus and Collaborate RESPONSIBILITIES: PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Maintains quality assurance and practice standards in accordance with established system policies, procedures, and objectives.span lang=ENRecognizes or anticipates problems and refers them immediately to the appropriate person for resolution if needed.Follows established processes to ensure uninterrupted supply of equipment and supplies to support Supply Chain Operations.According to the area, performs any combination of the following duties: counting, organizing, ordering, delivery, picking, packaging, put away, inspection, and/or receiving of equipment and supplies.Maintains stock within assigned areas in a clean and orderly manner including storage rooms and systems. This includes overall organization, shelves, bins, carts, and clear and correct labels.Orders according to establish practices and rules with respect to par levels, reorder points, package size, unit of measure, and reorder quantities.Implements inventory management processes and principles including rotation of stock utilizing dated material policy and/or FIFO (first in first out).Operationalizes the product recall and substitution processes including communication as necessary.Acts on optimization reports per processes - cycle counts, stock audits, discrepancies, reconciliation.Receives material by verification of package or bin contents by review of packing slips, receiving slips, or purchase orders, and maintains appropriate records.Puts away materials in the correct location in an orderly and tidy manner.Delivers orders to various locations serviced by Supply Chain within Brown University Health locations.Unloads supplies from loading dock using hand and electric lift trucks as needed.Delivers supplies to Brown University Health locations using a truck or van not requiring a commercial driver license.Replenishes patient and other ancillary supply carts in designated areas.Maintains stock within patient care areas including but not limited to gloves, PDI wipes, etcetera.Interacts with suppliers to confirm or expedite delivery of orders and/or initiate the request for vendor returns.Performs other related duties such as answering telephone and pager, relaying messages, conducting stock audits and reconciliations, cleaning work area and photocopying, etc. as required.May provide functional guidance and training to new employees regarding supply chain operations.Performs other duties as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: BASIC KNOWLEDGE:High School diploma or equivalent required or greater than five years relevant experience.The ability to exercise considerable independent judgment in the performance of most daily duties.A high level of interpersonal skills to effectively represent Brown University Health and Supply Chain in interaction with all levels of personnel within and outside the organization.Ability to properly use distribution equipment including electric pallet jacks and reach trucksAbility to comprehend and follow instruction manuals for operating, checking, and cleaning any necessary equipment. Mechanical ability to make minor adjustments on equipment and to recognize more complex problems.Numerical and clerical ability to check gauges, read charts and prepare departmental records.If performing an assignment that requires driving,must have a good driving record, meet and maintain the appropriate and valid drivers license in order to operate motor vehicles as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations in accordance with the Brown University Health Fleet Risk Control Policy.90630913 class=has-tooltipEXPERIENCE:Three to six months on the job training to gain supply chain competency including applicable equipment and processes to support supply chain operations services to the organization.WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Physical ability to stand and walk continuously for long periods of time.Must have the ability to lift fifty pounds, carry, push and/or pull moderately heavy store supplies, materials, and equipment.Some exposure to the outside elements and some heat and cold discomfort.Exposure to contaminated items, strong detergents, and antiseptic solutions.Any potential hazard is minimized by adherence to safety procedures and the use of protective clothing and equipment as directed by department.INDEPENDENT ACTION:Functions independently within broad scope of department policies and procedures; refers specific problems to Supply Chain leadership only where clarification or exception may be required.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:None

Summary:
-The registered and certified pharmacy technician II works under the direct supervision of licensed pharmacists to provide distributive pharmacy services and support to the pharmacy department. Additionally, provides a high level of assistance in distribution, dispensing, and compounding of sterile and non-sterile medications, and related supplies in compliance with accreditation, legal, regulatory, and safety requirements.This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $5K, contingent upon the applicant's qualifications and subject to certain eligibility requirements. SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Very frequent (51% - 80% of workday) standing and walking short distances. Mobility is important for supervision of entire operation. Frequently (21% - 50%) will need to stoop, bend and reach. Periodically (11%-20%) lifts food or equipment up to 50 pounds. Eye/hand coordination is needed to train and demonstrate production procedures and equipment. Job functions require a high level of concentration and prioritization of tasks. Noise level is very high in this environment due to kitchen equipment. Work conditions can be warm and humid, and floors can be wet, greasy and slippery. Must be able to push/pull food carts. Must be able to taste and smell food to determine quality and palatability. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

A minimum one-year point of sale system and computerized food system software experience. Serve Safe Certified and/or Certified Professional Food Manager Certification preferred. Major Responsibilities:
- Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and gathering/documenting/updating pertinent health information (i.e., chief complaint, allergies, and/or medications). Monitors and completes Clinical Integration/ Quality Improvement measures with notification to clinician for opportunities within their scope.
- Performs laboratory procedures (i.e., strep test, wound culture, specimen collection, etc.) using principles of aseptic technique and standard precautions/infection control guidelines.
- Assists the Physician/ Advanced Practice Professional (APP) with procedures such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy, etc.
- Administers routine medications, under Physician/ APP orders or medical group approved standing orders/protocols, which may include but are not limited to immunizations, antibiotics, vitamins, and topical agents.
- Follows through with necessary procedure or test requests, pre-approved care algorithms, new appointment times and referrals to other facilities or services. Refers questions to Registered Nurses and Physician/APC per scope of practice guidelines and relays information back to patient as directed.
- Communicates with Physician/APP and other members of the health care team to ensure smooth clinic flow and adjusts as necessary. Effectively communicates accurate and timely information with the patient.
- May perform basic and advanced clinical support tasks or skills based on the specialty and appropriate competencies such as but not limited to removal of sutures and staples, laboratory procedures (throat/nose culture, drug screen), phlebotomy - butterfly, venous heel stick, EKG, spirometry, Holter monitor application, prescription refills using approved protocols, etc., under clinical supervision.

Pay Range:
$38.20 - $57.30Major Responsibilities:
- Engages in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices.
- Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families through the continuum of care.
- Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to influence care outcomes.

- Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
- May be required to float to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area to meet patient care needs.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards
Minimum Job Requirements
Education
Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
Certification / Registration / License
- Basic Life Support (BLS). Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required based on specialty.
- Active registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where the RN is providing client nursing services
Note: Licensed nurses practicing via telehealth/telenursing/virtual modalities are required to be licensed or hold the privilege to practice in the state(s) where the client(s) is/are located. Licensed nurses are responsible and accountable for knowing, understanding, and practicing in compliance with the laws, rules, regulations, and standards of practice of the state(s) where the client(s) is/are located.
Experience
Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
- Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
- Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
- Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.
- Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.
- May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
- Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
- Physical Abilities Testing may be required.
- Additional department specific physical requirements may be identified for unique responsibilities within the department by the nurse leader.

Job Description:
This position is responsible for overseeing inventory management activities for assigned departments or clinical programs. Key duties include distributing and managing supplies to ensure that medical products, linens, and equipment are adequately stocked and ready for clinical use. The role also involves day-to-day management of inventory for the assigned department, facility, or clinical program, ensuring seamless operations and availability of necessary supplies.

Hours: 7:00am - 3:30pm(Full time-)benefited
*Possibly cover a weekend when needed (Planned in advance) . May also cover our Saratoga FSED location when needed as well.
Essential Functions
- Performs inventory control on stock and non-stock items (e.g., sets par levels, identifies and adjusts to trends) for assigned units. Keeps supplies binned and organized. Acts as liaison between Supply Chain and assigned department, facility, or clinical program.
- Orders and delivers supplies for assigned department, facility, or clinical program using appropriate technology, systems, and suppliers.
- Communicate information concerning supply levels, new products, standardization, and implementation relevant to the department staff. Troubleshoots issues for problem resolution.
- Responsible for Par Location Management, PIRS Replenishment, Location Maintenance, Delivery, Label maintenance and Kanban visuals.
- Monitors quantity on hand issues reconciling and solves any discrepancies.
- Utilizes the SCIS system ensuring distribution, inventory, receiving, departmental files, and reports are managed in accordance with Auditing, Accounting, and other regulatory agencies.
- Ensures compliance with policy and standard operating procedures.
- Reviews daily, weekly and monthly reports for assigned locations.

Required Qualifications
- Six Months of related Materials Management experience.

- Experience using basic word processing, spreadsheets, internet, e-mail, and scheduling applications.
- Experience in a role requiring strong attention to detail, accuracy, and dependability.
- Demonstrated ability to visually inspect boxes, packing slips, computed reports, and like objects.

Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, etc. and to identify equipment and supplies.
