Collects blood specimens, as well as receives, handles and processes specimens for Laboratory testing. Interacts with patients of diverse ages, backgrounds, values, beliefs and behavior. Receives, sorts and accessions specimens, assigning to appropriate pre-analytic and analytic workflow. Completes computerized tasks related to patient registration and/or test order entry, specimen collection, receiving and processing. Performs basic post-analytic tasks, including distributing reports, storing and/or retrieving specimens. Completes quality-related tasks such as documentation of work, maintaining a clean, stocked and safe work area, and monitoring pending work, as well as escalating priority work. Operates and/or uses basic pre-analytic lab equipment. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care.Job Description:
EDUCATION:
HS Diploma: High School or General Education Diploma (GED) provided prior to start date
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
CA Licensed Certified Phlebotomy Technician I or II (CPT)
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge and practice of standard principles, processes, procedures, and equipment related to:
1) ordering Laboratory testing,
2) collecting blood specimens,
3) compassionately and effectively interacting with patients,
4) handling and processing biological specimens routinely submitted to the Laboratory for analysis.
Ability to accurately, precisely, and reliably perform job duties and assigned tasks.
1) Ability to organize and prioritize job duties and assigned tasks for completion within expected timeframes.
2) Ability to compassionately and effectively interact with patients of diverse ages, backgrounds, values, beliefs and behaviors.
Workflow Management Ability to appropriately respond to:
1) fluctuations in volume,
2) unexpected situations or problems such as equipment or IS failure,
3) shift-to-shift hand-offs,

5) specimen integrity issues,

Summary:
Performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of assigned area or office.
Responsibilities:
Activates My Chart Accounts. Ensures Telehealth connectivity for scheduled appointments and trouble shoots as needed.Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including scanning, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.Reviews and documents Social Determinants. Provides education and resources as needed.Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patient care provided. Provides discharge instructions and follows-up with patient as needed. Recognizes and seeks help in emergent situations.Reviews patient charts to ensure imaging is available and all pertinent information is obtained to maximize appointment.Follows-up on reported issues and assists with service recovery.Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning/disinfection per protocol, and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.Manages and facilitates all in-basket messages and patient phone calls.Rounds with patients in practice to ensure Excellent Patient Experience is met.Under the supervision of physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments. Obtains and accurately documents patient vital signs, height and weight, takes brief history on current illness or injury, current medications, allergies, required screenings, and other pertinent information as appropriate.Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection, including phlebotomy, splint application, and procedural tray/room set-up.

Summary:
The Clinical Exercise Physiologist provides exercise and fitness screening, testing, and counseling and develops and implements exercise prescriptions for patients with chronic diseases. Executes procedures in assigned areas of the Laboratory to deliver accurate results in a timely manner. Maintains competence to perform pre-analytic, analytic and post-analytic procedures on biological specimens to aid health care providers in the diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and prevention of disease. Performs a variety of basic and complex Laboratory procedures, including phlebotomy, specimen processing, quality control, quality assurance, and waived, moderate or high complexity testing (as classified by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments - CLIA). If assigned to the Transfusion Service, performs moderate or high complexity testing and other duties such as blood inventory management, blood product preparation, and issuing blood products for transfusion. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure patient privacy and maintain the highest level of safety and reliability in testing.Job Description:

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Demonstrated knowledge and technical competence in routine specimen collection, preparation, testing applications, laboratory operations, and quality assurance in one or more assigned clinical specialty areas; examples: Chemistry, Special Chemistry, Hematology/Coagulation, Urinalysis and Transfusion Service.
- Ability to accurately, precisely, and reliably perform job duties and assigned tasks. Demonstrates sound judgment and problem solving relevant to assigned duties.
- Ability to compassionately and effectively interact with patients of diverse ages, backgrounds, values, beliefs and behaviors
