This position is for an Interventional Radiology Technologist with a primary focus in Neuro Endovascular procedures. The Neuro Endovascular Technologist functions as a critical member of the procedural team, directly assisting Neuro Endovascular and Vascular Surgeons in complex, high acuity cases.
GMC is a Level I Stroke Center, providing comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic management for the full spectrum of neurovascular conditions. • Applicants hired after March 10, 2024, must complete steps required for advancing to level 2, including advanced certification, within 24 months of hire.

Cardiology:

Phlebotomist II will obtain blood specimens, process specimens for analysis, utilize the appropriate computer systems to register patients, facilitate billing, and perform overall specimen accessioning and processing. • Performs venipunctures and skin punctures to obtain blood specimens according to Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute guidelines.

As a phlebotomist, you'll support Geisinger’s mission of providing exceptional patient care through innovative, efficient, and high-quality laboratory services. At Geisinger, our phlebotomists are the friendly faces that collect samples to be analyzed by our state-of-the-art labs. Under the supervision of a registered dietitian, performs daily, hands-on aspects of the storage, preparation and delivery of breast milk, infant and pediatric formulas. Support the daily operations of the Milk Lab to ensure optimal safety for all patients receiving prepared products from the Milk Lab.

Job Duties:

• Coordinates with the registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) to provide timely, cost effective, and appropriate nutritional care for the patient while avoiding duplication and waste.
• Receives and organizes physician/RDN orders, interprets orders by utilizing medical terminology and generic and trade names of all compounded components.
• Perform calculations for preparation of ordered feeding product, including measuring breast milk, formula, calculating additives, and filling orders.
• Adhere to established procedures for safe and accurate preparation of breast milk, formula, formula fortifiers and/or nutrition additives utilizing hygiene standards and personal protective gear.
• Ensure proper use of necessary labels to accurately identify, apply expiration dates and track prepared products.
• Handle and prepare breast milk and/or formula following aseptic technique.
• Ensure all products are used within proper expiration dates and manufacturers safe usage recommendations.
• Organizes the timely dispensing of final prepared breast milk and/or formula to unit refrigerators for individual patient use based on scheduled delivery times in consideration of expiration dates of each product.

Job Duties:

Assesses plans, organizes, performs, and evaluates nursing activities to meet the needs of the patient. Promotes adaptive responses of patient and family to achieve the highest level of patient care, promote safety, and maximize patient satisfaction. Exhibits compassionate care during patient-nurse interactions. Coordinates patient care and interaction of staff. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in their assigned nursing unit. Responsible for ensuring the very best patient and family experience by optimizing all interactions.

• Completes assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards.
• Addresses physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patient and family throughout the continuum of care.
• Formulates, coordinates, and provides plan of care as established in unit standards including, patient and family education, family needs and discharge planning throughout hospitalization with members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Provides direct patient care including, treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies according to policy and procedure.
• Evaluates effectiveness of nursing interventions and revises plan of care based upon patient response to interventions.
• Initiates collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and other interdisciplinary team members and acts to proactively resolve and facilitate patient needs.
• Problem solves, troubleshoots and takes corrective measures in the care and handling of equipment. Participates in unit-based decision-making regarding the utilization of evidence- based practice.
• Actively participates as a team member working toward team goals of the unit and organization and is accountable for unit and system specific metrics.

Position Details:

GP4 focuses on Palliative, Hospice, and Medical Surgical (not all patients are palliative or hospice, some are medical surgical, but there are efforts in motion to aggregate patients to this unit that are likely to transition’ to palliative vs curative efforts during their hospital stay).

This unit has 14 Private Beds and is newly renovated with spacious rooms. It is a calm, quiet, peaceful, emotionally and spiritually supportive environment.

Schedule is .9 FTE (36 hours)/Straight Nights. Every other weekend/Every other holiday rotation.
